The Bailey Brothers Box Set- the Complete Trilogy Page 47

“We need to go! Now!” she screamed.

He turned just in time to see a man sprinting out the hotel and running straight for her. Van was faster though and he quickly put the bike into gear and sped away. Lily was clutching onto him and he could feel her face buried into her back. Although he had only got a glimpse of the man, he knew who he was instantly. He was almost a replica of his uncle. It could only have been Vincent King. Van felt his pulse racing at the thought of what he had done to Lily to get her so upset. He didn’t realize where he was going until he was pulling into his garage and turning off the engine. Only then did Lily pry herself away from his body and looked around her.

  “Where are we?” she mumbled.

“My house. It looks like you need a drink, come inside.”

He helped her off the bike and saw the tight dress she was wearing. His heart sunk at the thought of her wearing that for another man.

And not just any man. Vincent King. Fucking scumbag.

She followed him through to the great room where she looked around wide-eyed. Even when they were meeting in secret, he had never brought her back home, afraid that someone could be tracking her and connect the dots. Now he knew that Pearl had been doing just that, he was glad he had stuck to the plan. The question now running through his mind was if she still was tracked.

“Give me your phone,” he demanded, thrusting out his hand.

“Why?” Lily looked uncertain but handed it over.

Carefully, Van flipped it over and opened the back. He first pulled out the battery, followed by the SIM card before putting all three pieces on the kitchen counter. Lily looked confused for a second, but she soon realized what he was doing.

“That was stupid of me. Of course, Pearl could track my phone. I met Lenny a couple of days ago. It would have been the perfect opportunity for him to place a tracker on my phone. I hope she hasn’t checked it just yet or we’ll have the whole crew showing up on the doorstep.”

Van thought for a moment, “No, I doubt she would have got the final location. She might just think you turned off your phone or chucked it somewhere. I think for now we are safe.”

Lily tried to smile but suddenly she broke down in tears. He felt his chest tighten to see her in such a state and quickly wrapped his arms around her. She sniffled into his t-shirt as she attempted to calm herself down. Once settled, she backed away and gave him a watery smile before heading towards the porch.

“Let’s see about that drink, huh?” he called over his shoulder as he searched the cupboard.

“About that,” she pointed to the ground, “It looks like you might have had enough.”

He walked past her to see the smashed glass from his binge drinking session lying on the floor. He grimaced as he rushed for a broom to clear away the mess. She stood and watched awkwardly from the side, clutching her elbows.

“Sorry about that,” he mumbled as he pulled out a chair for her.

She sat down and he grabbed two new glasses and the bottle of rum. It was a left-over from an earlier visit by Red. He found some soda and popped it all down on the table. Pouring the drinks, he passed one over to her before taking a sip of his own and joining her at the table. He knew he would regret mixing drinks in one night, but at that moment he didn’t care. He needed to be there for Lily.

“Do you want to talk about it?” he looked over at her.

Lily looked down for a second, her eyelashes still wet from crying. She swirled her finger in her glass before taking a deep gulp and looking back at him.

“I don’t know how I can marry someone like him. He’s insane!”

  “What happened?”

“When I got home, Pearl was furious with me and forced me on a dinner with Vincent. She had two beauticians come over and even picked out this outfit,” she grabbed at the dress, “Then the limo arrived and she told me, if I did anything to upset him then Jin would be as good as dead. Oh my god, Jin!”

Van grabbed her hand, “They wouldn’t have done anything to him just yet. If anything, they will use him as leverage to get you back. Don’t worry about that for now, I’ll let him know what’s happened.”

He reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. He quickly tapped out a message to Jin that the twins would be after him and he instantly got a response.

“Jin says he already has a plan in place. One of the guys is ready to bring him to a safe-house. He’ll be fine for now, but eventually they will catch up with him. It will take them over a week to search all the safe-houses in the state, so you can be at rest for now.”

Lily sighed with relief and leaned back into her chair. She swirled the brown liquid around in the glass before taking a sip and continuing her story.

“Well, that at least is a bit of comfort. When the limo pulled up, the driver told me that Vincent had asked him not to talk to me. Vincent was nowhere to be seen! Then to top that off, when I got to the hotel, I had to wait nearly ten minutes before he made an entrance. I found out the wedding was entirely his idea and it was all because he thought, I would look good on his arm and he wanted to have sex with me.”

“What?” Van burst, anger flaring up in him.

“That’s not all,” she clutched his hand tightly, “He ordered the meal before I got there and said we need to look united. He kept offering to do things with me and I kept refusing. It wasn’t until after the meal was over that he really tried to get physical and I had to step away. Vincent got really angry after that and started smashing everything.”

“Is that where you got that bruise?” Van pointed to her shoulder.

She nodded and Van erupted, standing up from his chair.

“I’m going to hunt down the fucker and slit his throat. Is he still at the hotel?”

That fucking cunt laid hands on my woman. I’m gonna have his head on a spike, if that’s the last thing I do. Pearl and Joe can go to hell!

“Calm down!” Lily put her drink down and grabbed onto both his shoulders, staring directly into his eyes, “We have to think rationally here. I may have a week before they find Jin, but that’s not eternity and I still haven’t figured out what I’m going to do. I may have escaped for now but eventually I have to go back and face it all.”

Van felt his anger slip away as he looked into her crystal blue eyes. He couldn’t let his own anger control him if it meant killing Jin. She would never forgive him and the twins would track him down and destroy him too, if not his family in the process. He knew they weren’t the type to forget easily.

“Fine,” he brushed her hands away and slumped back into the chair, “But you have to stay here tonight at least. Let them all have a cooling off period before you jump back into the flames. Tomorrow we will think about what to do. There has to be something better than you ending up back in their grasp and forced to marry that bastard.”

Lily nodded and they sat in silence for a moment, sipping their drinks. The stars above them twinkled in the sky and it reminded him of the first time they had been together in the hotel at the homecoming party. He remembered sitting out on the balcony and thinking he was the luckiest man to have her by his side.

And what a fool I am to think she would stay there. The twins would never allow their sister to be with someone like me. It doesn’t matter how many years of loyal service I have put in, if it means their sister could ruin their reputation by marrying one of their contractors. Not to mention I’m a Bailey. It would solidify their thoughts on our family once and for all. Who knows what would happen if I pissed off two of the most powerful people in the city? But at least for now I know Lily is safe. At least for now I can have this time with her, back by my side.

“What are you thinking about?” she tilted her head towards him.

  “You.”

She smiled over at him before draining the rest of her drink. He did the same before pouring them both another and leaning back in his chair.

“Life deals us some funny cards, huh?” his voice was void of humor.

“Isn’t that the truth,” she sighed, “I come back from a war just to be thrown into another battlefield. A pawn in someone else’s game. A tactical move only to be dispensed at will. They say that blood is thick but I think power is thicker. I can’t believe my sister sold me off just to expand her business. I honestly thought after ten years she would have changed her ways. Guess I’m just as much of an idiot as I was when I was younger.”

“You’re not an idiot, or a pawn for that matter. To me, you will always be a queen.”

Before he registered what was happening, she had put down her drink and was straddling him in the chair. Her breath was hot against his neck as she bit down, her fingers fumbling at his jeans button. Just her touch made him erect as his mouth fell upon hers. He could taste the sweetness of the rum on her tongue as they kissed. The smell of her perfume drove him wild and he placed his arms underneath her and stood up from the seat. She wrapped her legs around him as he carried her inside and laid her flat out on the kitchen table. Her dress rode up the side of her leg and his fingers swirled around her inner thigh, making tiny circles as she moaned. Pushing her dress up further he caught a glimpse of her lacy panties and he hooked a thumb underneath them. With a quick tug they were off and he tossed them to the side.

“Are you sure you want this right now?” his breathing was heavy.

“It’s the only thing I’m sure of anymore,” she bit down on his lip.

He caught her by surprise as he dropped down to his knees and pushed her legs further apart with his shoulders. He nipped at her inner thigh and made his way up towards his goal. As he reached her outer lips, he breathed hot air onto it and he could hear her gasp. He got the tip of his tongue and ran it up and down before latching onto her clit and sucking it in. She moaned as he brought two fingers up and widened her lips, allowing access for his tongue to probe deeper inside her before his fingers thrust in too. Her hand reached down and gripped into his hair as he quickened his tempo. Her juices were sweet and he could feel her tense with each thrust of his fingers. His pulled away and let the trail of saliva drip down her crease to her ass. There he slowly slid one finger in, to test her reaction. Her groan was all he needed to know that was what she wanted. He started working her ass with one finger before adding another. All the while his tongue flicked around her pussy, occasionally swirling around her hardened nub.

“I want you in me now,” she moaned, biting down on her lip.

She lifted her legs upwards and Van stood, quickly unbuttoning his jeans. He shuffled out of them and his boxers and kicked them to the side. His erection was throbbing and he could see the glisten of pre-cum on the tip just before he slid in. She clenched around him causing him to groan as he started to get deeper with each thrust. The sound of their skin slapping together as he pounded her, drove him wild and he could feel Lily getting wetter by the second. He held onto her ankles as he speeded up, her breasts popped free from the confines of her dress and jiggled with the motion. She clutched onto the back of the table with her arms as she groaned with pleasure.

“What’s your view on other holes?” he paused to question her.

Her breath was short as she replied, “I thought you’d never ask.”

The thought of fucking her in the ass was almost enough to make him cum there and then. Swiftly, he pulled out, the sound of his cock popping from her pussy as he helped her slide of the side. She was now standing in front of them and their mouths clashed together. Their tongues explored one another’s mouths as her hand traveled downward to grip the length of his penis while smearing the liquids up and down the length of his cock. It was his turn to moan and he knew he wouldn’t be able to take much more. He quickly spun her around and she bent over the table, spreading her legs just so he could get easier entry to his next goal. Van admired the woman from the back for a moment before reaching down and spreading her cheeks. He positioned himself and could feel how slick the area was from their previous position. Slowly, he eased himself in and she screamed out. He paused, wondering whether he should pull out before she looked over her shoulder.

  “Deeper.”

That was all the confirmation he needed to push himself further in. Expanding her hole as he filled her with the length of his cock. Once in he started to make a temp, getting harder and deeper with each thrust until he was on the precipice. He playfully slapped her ass and she made a low guttural moan. He could feel her clenching around him and he knew she too was close to finishing.

  “Ready?” he breathed.

She nodded and with one final thrust he exploded in her. Lily screamed out as an orgasm ripped through her and he could feel her body shaking as they both collapsed onto the surface of the table. He waited until he caught his breath before pulling his now semi-erect cock from her ass and standing upright. He hooked an arm underneath her and held her in his arms. She looked up at him and smiled.

“Well, we haven’t tried that before. I’m exhausted.”

“Come, princess. Let’s go get you some sleep.”

He carried her into his bed room and placed her gently down onto the mattress before sliding in next to her. She curled up into his arm and he breathed in the scent of her shampoo before they both drifted off to sleep.

I wish you could stay in my arms forever.

  ***

  “Good morning, sleepy head!”

Van groaned as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes and looked up at Lily. His head was throbbing from the night before, but it did nothing to effect the joy he felt at seeing her when waking up. She had scrubbed the makeup from her face and helped herself to the shower as small droplets of water tapped down on the pillow around him as she leaned over him. A single drop landed directly in the middle of his forehead and she started to giggle. The tinkling sound of her laughter made him smile and he quickly lunged forward, wrapping her into his arms as he rolled her onto the bed. His lips descended upon hers and she deepened the kiss by pulling his head in closer. When they pulled apart he couldn’t stop the grin from spreading across his face.

“That’s the best wake-up I’ve ever had. Want some coffee?”

“That would be perfect. I’ll meet you in the kitchen in five minutes. Do you have any clothes I can borrow?”

Van thought for a moment before wandering over to his wardrobe and rummaging through. His search managed to find a large white shirt which he tossed over to her. She nodded her approval before he left the room and headed to the kitchen area. He poured two large cups of black coffee and headed over to the couch. His head still wasn’t ready to face the bright morning sunshine glaring outside.

  “What do you think?”

He turned to see Lily standing in the hallway with the shirt reaching mid-way down her thighs. She had used her choker from the night before to fashion a substitute for a belt, to make it a better fit. Her hair had been combed back and was drying in messy waves. He felt his heart leap at seeing her in his clothes. Everything about her was flawless to him.

  “You look great,” he beamed.

She smiled back at him before walking over to the couch and collapsing into the cushion next to him. Van handed her the mug and he switched on the TV for some entertainment while they sipped at their steaming hot coffee. When the commercials came on, he lowered the volume and turned to face her.

His voice was serious as he spoke, “So, what do you want to do today? How do you want to handle the situation? We don’t have to go back just yet, if you don’t want to.”

Nibbling on her lip she thought for a moment. Absentmindedly twirling a strand of her hair around her finger, she gazed into her cup of coffee before looking up and answering.

“Well, we know Jin is safe so that buys me a bit more time. So for now I’d like to make them stew a little in the mess they’ve created. Why don’t we just spend the day together? If we head somewhere out of the city for today then we won’t be seen.”

Van smiled, “That sounds great. Let me get ready and we can head out. Here, you can have
the remote.”

He handed her the remote before putting his cup on the kitchen counter and heading back into the bedroom. Stripping down, he made his way into the bathroom and clambered into the shower. His mind instantly flooded with the dark thoughts from the evening before.

Stop thinking about them. I have Lily for now, just enjoy the moment. The death of my parents and the loss of the woman of my dreams can wait until later. She’s waiting for me.

He pushed them to the back of his mind as he scrubbed his body with soap. After washing his hair, he jumped out and wrapped himself in a towel. Teeth brushed, hair roughly under control and a quick splash of cologne and he was ready to go. He searched his drawers and pulled out one of his many pairs of black jeans and paired it with a black shirt. He examined himself in the mirror and was happy to see that any sign of his drunken antics last night were faded, apart from the cut on his hand.

“Do you need any aspirin?” he called to her as he wandered back into the great room.

“No, I’m fine. I’m just going to put my shoes on and we can go,” she answered.

Reaching into the medicine cabinet, he pulled out the box and popped two of the small white pills. He downed them with a glass of cold water before waiting at the door to the garage. She soon appeared and he led the way. Handing her a helmet, he climbed onto the bike and held it steady while she got on. He was glad to be sitting in front of her, because the shirt slid up her legs and she would be flashing everyone, if he wasn’t there to block the view.

“Where are we going?” her muffled voice came from underneath the helmet.

  “Back to the beginning.”

Before she could ask any more questions, the engine revved to life beneath them and the garage doors opened. The traffic eased up as they headed out of the city and onto the highway. She hugged onto his back as they weaved through the cars and headed towards their destination. Eventually he parked up and offered his hand to help her off the bike.

“The diner?” she grinned as she pulled off her helmet, “This is where we first went when you picked me up from the airport. That’s so sweet.”
