Klitzman's Paradise (The Klitzman Stories) Page 21

by Paul Blades

I assumed that it worked out okay since I didn’t see Espinosa or Lois after that. I dared not inquire as to her fate for obvious reasons. Carlos had enjoyed my company and had invited me to visit his hacienda way back in the mountains any time I wanted. I shuddered for Lois’s fate when I recalled his descriptions of how some of his girls were treated. I was sure that his facility was secure since Rukimo wouldn’t have permitted any girls to be sold to him if he thought that it was possible they would escape. It would not be easy for Lois to get away. Maybe she would and maybe she wouldn’t. I had done my part. It wasn’t my fault that she got caught in the first place. Like she said, she fucked up, and in our dangerous game you had to be prepared to suffer the consequences. I did resolve that if I ever got in touch with Bederson, I would let him know where she was.

And so life continued on Klitzman’s Isle. At least I knew now what my mission was. And I had one more reason to want to bring down the mad criminal. Over the next many months, I often wondered what happened to Lois. I remembered her soft body and limpid smile. But I didn’t have time to linger on these or any other morose thoughts about the fates of the girls who had been brought here to be deprived of the essences of a free life, used as toys by the rich, the powerful and the ruthless. I had a fine line to walk myself. I had taken a big risk in getting Lois shipped out like she wanted. And later, I took even bigger risks to try and bring an end to their suffering. And, to my sorrow, I garnered more reasons to want to do so. There’s a lot more to tell.

  The End
