“Did you imagine that too?” I asked him after kissing him again. He put an arm around me and we both stared up at the roof of the car, Ocean Beach busy around us. It felt like we were in a warm bubble filled with the scent of salt water and sex. I loved it.
“I didn’t dare to imagine that. But now that I’ve seen it, felt it… I’ll never be able to forget it.”
“Good,” I said, satisfaction inching up my spine and filling every part of me with warmth.
“So…” Noah said, gazing over at me with that lazy half smile making my heart beat faster. “Is it too early to ask you out for a third date?”
“Can the third date involve waffles? Right now?”
“Definitely,” he said.
We cleaned up at the showers, put on dry clothes and took ourselves to the Waffle Shack down the road.
The new and improved Mr. Match was off and running, and better than ever. I couldn’t wait to make my next match.
