“So, talking about the tech we have isn’t such a good idea?”

“No,” Lucius replied. “As a matter of fact, even though you’d make a good deal of cash if you did manage to publish a travelogue about this community, let alone the technical advancements of the new hab, I think the council would put the kibosh on any such project. But we need you to continue producing the running history of our community.”

“You’re doing a great job. I love your work,” Sydney added, patting Lola’s hand.

Just then, Sydney’s datapad beeped softly. Sydney said, “Duty calls. I have lunch with Julia Rivers to talk about offering some formal classes in sociology, psychology, and what would probably been under the social studies curriculum of most colleges and universities.”

“Any particular reason why?” Lucius asked.

“Some of the second gens want to understand people better on a macro scale, and I suspect on the micro, one-on-one level, too.”

“We really don’t have much in the way of classes or training in interpersonal communications,” said Lola. “It sounds like a good idea to me. We have enough second gens dating and whatnot that I think it’s a good idea, especially if it helps us to understand each other better. We don’t have unlimited space to get away from each other if a relationship goes bad. And even though you two have brought several new recruits to our community, there’s still a finite number of people living here.”

“Exactly! Phillip and I are surprised at how little friction there’s been here. I like to think that our search criteria has a lot to do with how well the people here get along,” said Lucius.

“That, and how everyone seems like they’re on the lookout for problems before they need to be formally addressed,” Sydney added.

“I’d be interested in checking out those classes myself!” Lola said with a smile.

“I’ll keep you posted on whatever we come up with,” promised Sydney as she breezed out the door.

“Lunch?” Lucius asked, getting to his feet.

“I’m buying!” Lola replied, tucking her datapad behind her back in its carrier, following Lucius out the door.
