Alena gripped my shirt. “What has he gotten us into? We’re trapped in here.”

Jude’s voice echoed through the rooms. “You wanted answers. We have all of them.”

“Please tell me all this is digital somewhere.” Alena’s breathing rate increased, and she paced down the narrow passages between the stacks of texts.

If there was one thing I knew, it was that she didn’t like to be trapped. I took slow deep breaths coaxing her to do the same. “You’re going to be okay. With all of us here, we can work around the clock. There has to be some sort of spell to help us find what we’re looking for quicker than reading through all of this.”

Alena’s phone rung, and she answered the call. “Alena, Princess, are you there?” I heard through her microphone.

“Yes, what are you talking about? You’re standing right outside the door, ten feet from me, Dimitri.” Her hand went to her hip as she listened to Dimitri’s words. “What? You can’t see us or the building? How can this be happening?”

“No.” I fought touching her. It would send her over the edge. “It’s perfect. They won’t be able to find us. We’re safe. All of this is safe.” I pointed to the rows of records.
