When his lips pressed lightly to hers, a rumbling groan escaped Bael’s chest, and she felt it all the way to the tips of her toes.
“Your lips are soft,” he said as he positioned her face to meet his. “Your breath, it’s sweet.” He kissed her lips again as if to test his own words. “What have you done to me, Abrihet?”
Three syllables were all it took to weaken her knees.
Her name on his lips as he touched his to hers, and she was a goner. Bael had crept in past her defenses and taken apart the wall she’d built when she’d first arrived here. She’d wanted to go home, back to her brother and her friends. Now, she thought of home as a fond memory. She knew that Bael would always be there for her. Fight for her, love her better than any man would.
Abrihet breathed heavily into the kiss as he continued to sip at her mouth, careful nips of his teeth as he pulled her lower lip in where his tongue tasted her.
Whoa.
There was that spark again. His mouth was the flame that lit her body on fire. Abrihet’s skin heated further, and her legs almost gave way as his tongue pushed past her lips and discovered the inside of her mouth. Their tongues met in the middle. Even in his kiss, he dominated. Controlled.
“You wear my chain,” he said, burrowing his head into the crook of her neck.
“Yes, Bael.”
“You are mine.”
It wasn’t a question. It was a statement.
“Yes, yours. I gave up my world for you.”
He pulled back to stare down at her, his hands gentle on her face. “You are my world, Abrihet.”
“As you are mine, Baelion.”
She remembered what he’d said about using a demon’s full name. His father had called him Baelion. And as Abrihet called him by his true name, she felt a distinct tug from deep inside her unfurl and latch on to something tangible inside of Bael. He let go of a deep breath, and said, “You are now tethered to me, as I am to you.”
And she’d have it no other way.
This is not the end of Abrihet and Baelion’s story. The next book will be full-length novel titled Reign.
Glossary of terms
Awakening: A demon’s time of maturation when he comes into his full power.
Blood Bath: Place of torture
Būtība: A Salve made of demon pheromone specific to the male demon.
Enforcers: Incaendium who are sent to kill Nefas.
Ignis: Lower class demons-they cannot leave Wraith.
Incaendium: Warrior class demon who have the purest blood.
Karaliene: Queen.
Luxa: A term of endearment meaning, “my light”.
Luxanna: Light
Luxanna Karaliene: Light Queen or Queen of Light
Mērjoslu: Ruler or King (Intended)
Nefas: Half human, half fire demon.
Pastlife: A dead Terran (human) sent to serve out their sentence.
Raktuves: Mine.
Telling: A fire demon’s path in life.
Terra: Earth
Terran: Human
Ustrina: Demons that are mostly female, very few males still exist.
Watcher: An animal guide.
Wraith: 5th Realm in Hell.
