“Wow,” I whispered after he collapsed next to me on the mattress and I could talk again.

“You can say that again,” he muttered. “I’m damn glad we were able to get the ceremony done before my trip, or else I would have had to wait too damn long to experience that.”

I mumbled my agreement. It was too bad Sullivan had been insistent about the lack of emotion in our relationship. Between the fact that he’d unknowingly saved my brother’s life and how perfectly matched we were in bed, it was going to be difficult not to fall for him.

  Chapter Five

  SULLIVAN

I looked at the clock again, like I’d been doing every few minutes for the last hour. My meeting seemed to be dragging on forever. It was unusual for me to be anything but 100 percent present in my business dealings, and I was a little irritated with myself for being so distracted. But I’d never had something so tempting waiting on me at home. Kinsley was quickly becoming an addiction, and I wasn’t sure how I felt about that yet.

Our wedding night had been even more incredible than I’d imagined. And during those two weeks of planning, I’d imagined it…a lot. Nothing could have prepared me for the real experience, though, and ever since, I hadn’t been able to get enough of her.

I’d managed to focus and confine our time together to nights, so far. But what had truly surprised me was the way we connected beyond our sexual compatibility. Just from our little bouts of pillow talk, I’d discovered that she was even more intelligent and quick-witted than I had originally thought. She was articulate and well-versed in business, politics, and other various subjects that had come up. She seemed so down to earth that, at times, I almost forgot she’d married me for money. More and more, I was convinced that I owed Julia a big bonus.

Today, I’d given in to my desire to spend some time with her and I had a surprise planned. We were attending our first event later that night, and I’d arranged for her morning to be spent at the spa. But I was cutting out of work early to take her sightseeing for the afternoon.

Sydney was a gorgeous city, and I wanted her to see more than just the major shopping areas. I’d expected to see bags and boxes everywhere by now, considering we’d been in Australia for over a week, but I’d only seen a few, so I assumed she was having everything immediately shipped to my penthouse in New York.

Kline popped his head into the conference room right on time. “I’m sorry to interrupt, Mr. Bradford, but if you don’t head out now, you’ll be late for your next appointment.”

“Thanks, Kline.” I nodded in acknowledgment, and the other gentlemen in the room took the hint, standing and gathering their things.

“Will we be seeing you and your new bride at the auction tonight?” George, the CEO of the company I was negotiating with, asked. He stepped toward me and reached out his hand while his posse began to file out the door.

“Absolutely,” I agreed, shaking his hand. Their company was holding a charity auction, and many influential people would be there. Some I was already in the midst of a deal with, and others I was trying to court. So it wasn’t an opportunity I could pass on.

I followed him out of the conference room but turned the opposite direction in the hall and headed to my office. We did a lot of business in Australia, so we rented a permanent office suite.

I left paperwork on my desk for my assistant to handle, then made my way down to the curb where a car was waiting for me. It was spring in the southern hemisphere, so I removed my suit jacket and laid it out carefully on the seat beside me.

It only took a few minutes to arrive at the hotel. Our rooms were quiet when I returned, so I assumed Kinsley was still at the spa. I took the opportunity to change into more casual clothes, a polo and pressed khakis, then checked with the concierge to make sure everything was ready to go as planned.

As I was hanging up the phone, the door opened and Kinsley walked inside. She looked fucking gorgeous, with her face devoid of makeup and her skin practically glowing. She was dressed only in a thick terry cloth robe that went from her neck to her ankles, and I frowned as I realized she was more than likely naked underneath.

“What the fuck are you doing walking around the hotel practically naked?” I growled as I stalked in her direction.

She raised an eyebrow and gathered her robe a little closer around her. “Seriously? This is more coverage than some of the suits I wear to work.”

I reached her and slipped a finger under the belt, using it to draw her forward. “It wouldn’t take more than a single tug in the right place”—I quickly pulled at the sash, and it easily gave way—“and other people would be seeing what’s mine.” My head lowered until our lips were a breath apart, and I palmed both of her ass cheeks and squeezed. Her gasp sent a bolt of lust straight to my cock, and I groaned in response. “Don’t forget: this ass is mine, and I don’t share.”

Closing the short distance between us, I covered her mouth with my own. Her drugging taste quickly dragged me down the rabbit hole, but the ring of the phone broke the mood and we stumbled apart. “We have plans, so go get dressed before I change my mind and keep you in bed all day,” I told her as I moved to the end table and picked up the phone.

“I wouldn’t complain,” I heard her mumble softly as she disappeared into the bedroom.

Despite the grin on my face, I snapped my greeting into the phone. “What?”

  “Your car is ready sir.”

“Thank you. We’ll be down shortly.”

“How should I dress?” Kinsley called from the bedroom.

“Comfortably,” I responded as I gathered my wallet and keys.

She walked out five minutes later, dressed in jeans and an off-the-shoulder, flowy, lavender blouse, while sweeping her long, dark hair into a ponytail. “Where are we going?”

“It’s a surprise.” Her blue eyes lit up, and she smiled at me in a way I’d rarely seen. It made her even more beautiful. “We’re spending the day together?”

  “Yes. Are you ready?”

She nodded and quickly slipped her feet into sandals, then grabbed her purse. “Let’s go.”

I ushered her out the door, into the elevator, and down to the car waiting on the curb. I kept a hand on the small of her back, but otherwise made an effort to keep my distance. I was still on edge from earlier, and I knew it wouldn’t take much to convince myself we should spend the day fucking instead of sightseeing.

Kinsley stared out the window eagerly as the car pulled away and headed to our first destination. We came to a stop at Sydney Tower, and she was literally bouncing in her seat. I couldn’t help grinning at her childlike enthusiasm. “Oh! I haven’t been here yet! It was on my list for next week.”

I winked at her. “I checked with your driver and picked places to go that I was pretty sure you hadn’t visited.” I climbed out of the car and reached my hand back in to help her. “With all the shops here, I was surprised to learn you hadn’t been here yet,” I mentioned nonchalantly. She stiffened next to me, and I glanced down to see her lips pinched and some of the joyous light in her eyes had faded. I immediately looked around to see what it was that upset her, but all I saw around us was the Tower and locals and tourists milling around.

Was it something I’d said? Maybe a little confession would bring her mood back up. “You probably won’t believe this, but I’ve never been here, either.”

She cocked her head to the side and peered at me curiously. “What? How can that be? I know you travel here pretty frequently.”

I shrugged. “I’m always so busy, I’ve never had time to play tourist.”

Shaking her head in mock disappointment, she smiled, and as I’d hoped, her disposition lightened again. “All work and no play,” she mused. “Well, this will be even more fun since we are both going to be experiencing it for the first time!”

Without thinking, my hand found hers, and I wove our fingers together. I froze, a little shocked at myself for instigating such an intimate gesture. But I couldn’t deny how
right it felt.

Kinsley’s eyes widened just a fraction, but she didn’t say anything. She simply smiled at me, then began walking toward the entrance.

We took an express lift to the Skywalk, an alfresco glass-floor viewing platform, and took a few minutes to simply enjoy the view. When my stomach growled loudly, Kinsley broke out into a fit of giggles.

“Good thing we have lunch reservations at the 360 Bar,” I told her a little sheepishly. We ate a delicious meal with the city skyline surrounding us, changing ever so slightly as the restaurant revolved.

I asked Kinsley what she’d been up to while I’d been working, and as she told me about all of the places she’d visited, I noticed that most of them were museums and other attractions that were not known for their shopping. My opinion of her was steadily growing, and it only added to my attraction. However, it also fueled my desire to spend time with her, in and out of bed, and I wasn’t sure what to make of it. If I gave in to those urges, I would be taking focus away from my work.

I decided to put those confusing thoughts aside for the time being and just enjoy our day out together.

After lunch, I took her to the Sydney Opera House, and from there we strolled to the Royal Botanic Gardens. Kinsley’s excitement was contagious, and I found myself more relaxed than I could remember being since I was a teenager. She also kept me entertained with a fount of obscure but interesting facts about the places we visited.

I found myself using any excuse to touch her and keep us physically connected. I also had to constantly remind myself not to ogle her, especially since her ass looked spectacular in those jeans and her top dipped just enough to give me a tantalizing tease of her fantastic tits. It didn’t do my libido any good, and I was sporting a semi for most of the day. But I couldn’t seem to help myself, and Kinsley hadn’t questioned or protested my actions.

We ended our little tour at Hyde Park and Queen’s Square, where I was absolutely fascinated by the architecture of the Georgian buildings. It was my turn to spout knowledge as I ogled the techniques and incredible workmanship.

“Why didn’t you become an architect?” she asked.

My eyebrows slid up into my hairline at the question. “How did you know I wanted to be an architect?”

“It’s obvious in the way you look at these buildings,” she explained. “You don’t look at them as a real estate investment or simply at the overall beauty. Your focus is on the structure itself. All the little things that actually make it a unique work of art.”

I was surprised she’d picked up on it, but a little part of me was pleased that she’d been paying such close attention to me. I couldn’t help wanting her to be battling the same struggle I was having, to stay unattached and aloof in our relationship. Clearly, I was failing miserably.

“My degree is actually in architecture, and I contemplated going that route. But where would that have left the family business? So I got my MBA and master’s in real estate, then continued on with my parents’ legacy. I love my job, though, and I’ve never regretted my choice.”

“Hmmm,” she murmured, drawing my attention to her plump, pink lips. I hadn’t kissed her since the hotel, and fuck, I was dying for another taste. We were stopped at the Hyde Park Barracks, and I wrapped an arm around her waist and guided her around the side of the building where there was some relative privacy.

Pushing her up against the wall, I placed my palms on either side of her head and gave in to temptation and took her mouth in a deep, tongue-thrusting kiss. Her hands fisted in my shirt, and she kissed me back with similar need. It was all I could do not to grab her ass and lift her up so I could grind myself against her. My dick was about to burst from my pants, and I knew I was seconds away from losing my fucking mind.

I tore my lips away and dug my phone from my pocket. I’d told our driver to wait on us near the park, so I shot off a quick text with our location. Kinsley was still leaning against the wall, her breaths coming out in quick pants. I seized her hand and practically dragged her out to the street. The car pulled up a minute later, and I sighed in relief as we hurriedly climbed inside. I told the driver to take us back to the hotel, then pressed the button to close the privacy window.

I turned to Kinsley, intending to reach for her, but she’d already scooted close and thrown a leg over mine so she could straddle my lap.

“I’ve been dying to do this all day,” I grunted as I yanked her shirt down. She was wearing a pretty lace bra that matched her blouse, and since it was strapless, I was able to push it right down as well.

“Oh! Sullivan!” she cried out as I latched onto one of her nipples and sucked deeply.

Letting it go with a pop, I whispered, “I can’t get enough of your taste. I want to bury my face in your pussy and eat my fill, but right now I need to be inside you too much.”

We both fumbled with her buttons and zipper, then pulled her pants down but only took the time to get them off of one leg. She settled on top of me again and ground her lace-covered pussy down on my throbbing erection.

“Fuck!” My hips thrust up, and the heat of her center nearly made me come. I didn’t have any patience left, so I fisted her panties and tore them away. She had worked my khakis open and removed my cock. Her hand squeezed and pumped a few times, and a ragged moan tore from my chest.

She let go and grabbed onto my shoulders as she lifted up. I lined up my cock with her soaked pussy and then clutched her hips and slammed her down until I was buried balls-deep inside her.

“Yes!” she screamed as she threw her head back.

“Ride me, Kinsley. Fucking hard, baby,” I demanded as I began to pump up and down. She rose and dropped on my dick over and over, speeding up and using my shoulders as leverage. She was so wet, she should have slid easily in and out of place, but her tight pussy was clenching around me, holding me in. My cock dragged along her walls with every movement, and I could feel myself getting close.

I devoured her nipples as her tits bounced in front of my face before silencing her cries of ecstasy with another hot, wet kiss. When I felt the telltale ripples of her orgasm approaching, I reached between us and pinched her swollen clit.

She stiffened for a half second, then screamed my name as she came long and hard.

“Oh, fuck yes!” I shouted, coming right behind her. She was clamping down on my dick, milking it, making me come so hard spots danced in front of my eyes.

  Chapter Six

  KINSLEY

It was only three short weeks after I’d walked down the aisle with Sullivan, and I already found myself struggling with feelings for him. Not that I was completely to blame; he’d been the first one to change things up between us while we were in Australia for what was supposed to have been a working “honeymoon.” He’d stuck to his rule of work being his top priority during our first week there, but after we’d spent an incredible day sightseeing together he’d surprised me by squeezing me into his busy schedule several more times. We’d hit all the popular spots, each outing better than the last, and every single one followed by an insanely hot round of sex.

So much sex that I wasn’t sure if my exhaustion was because of jet lag or if it was due to all the extra exercise I’d been getting in bed. Even with how much I was looking forward to accompanying Sullivan to a charity event the night after we returned home, I was worried I might fall asleep in my meal. Then again, I could probably depend on the chemistry that burned between us to keep me on my toes, since I was always hyperaware of him.

The fire between us hadn’t died down at all since we’d returned home, but I’d barely seen Sullivan since he’d spent all of today in the office. It was almost more than I could do to stop myself from ripping his tuxedo from his body, even though we were surrounded by hundreds of people. When he set his hand on my lower back as we moved towards our table, a jolt of awareness moved through me. His fingers flexed against the silky material of my dress, and I glanced up at him, almost stumbling when I saw the blaze of heat in his hazel ey
es.

He bent his head low to whisper in my ear, “You’re too damn beautiful. I’ve had to glare down at least half a dozen men since we walked in the door because they were checking out my wife.”

I shivered at the thread of possession in his tone. For a guy who’d been adamant about there being no strong emotions between us, he was sending me mixed signals. They were messing with my head because they made me think there was the possibility of more between us.

He didn’t leave my side all night, making sure I was included in the conversation at dinner and even going as far as to walk me to the restroom when I needed to go. If his parents had been present, I would have understood that he was keeping up the act for them. But without that excuse, I could only hope that it was a sign he was as confused about what was happening between us as I was.

“Dance with me?” he asked when the band started up.

“I’d love to.” I placed my hand in his, and we moved onto the dance floor.

“You look a little tired. I thought you were going to take a nap today while I was in the office?”

“I did,” I sighed. “But the trip must have kicked my butt more than I realized, because I was still tired when I woke up to get ready for tonight.”

His fingers toyed with the ends of my hair. “It should get easier with each trip we take. After a while, you’ll be used to it and you’ll barely notice the time change.”

“How long did it take you?”

He looked up at the ceiling like he was thinking about his answer. Then he broke into a big grin as he answered, “Years.”

“Then I guess only time will tell if I adjust as quickly to your business trips as you did,” I laughed.

He pulled me in closer as we swayed to the music. “Time is something we have plenty of.”

Butterflies swirled in my belly at how sure he sounded about our future together. I laid my cheek against his chest and held on tight until the song ended. When I stepped back, I brushed against someone behind me and turned, startled to find a handsome blond stranger standing so close.
