"I love you," he says. The words spear right into my heart. I can't breathe. "You're the one I've been waiting for all these years, Rachel. When I look back at my captivity here at Honeycomb Hall, I realize why Mama B did it. Why she trapped me. She knew we were right for each other. So she made sure we'd meet."
I curl my hair back from my sweaty brow. "She could have called me to come down from New York."
He laughs, shifting his hips in a way that sends aftershocks of pleasure coursing through me. "True. But hell. Who knows why witches do what they do."
I smile wickedly. "Your cock is buried balls deep in a witch right now."
"Hmm," he says, stirring me again in a slow circle. "And damn, it feels good."
I laugh and kiss him. "Is your pack OK with staying in one place?"
He nods. "We'll stick close to the house. Make these hills our territory. Honeycomb Hall will be our den."
I let out a sigh of relief and rest my cheek on his shoulder. I don't want to move. I don't want him out of me. I could sit here in his lap forever. "And the Cairn Elder? What did he say?"
He reaches up to caress my hair. "He was impressed. The Blood Moon was almost meek at the meetings. 'Anybody who can handle them can run a Lodge,' he said. He's granted you official Lodge status."
A wave of pure joy rushes through me and I lift my face. "Really? He's named us the Cairn Lodge?"
Blake grins and nods. "Expect reservations to start coming in soon. Though we're going to have to work on our image a little. We don't want all the shifters to be too scared of you."
I laugh. "I'll send some of Anita's tarts to the Cairn. That's all the advertising we need to do."
Blake chuckles and kisses me again. "It's going to work out. It's all going to work out."
I sigh and rest my cheek on his shoulder again. "Yes."
Something strange fills me. A new feeling. One that I've not felt in ages. Something that feels like a mixture of peace, joy, and contentment. It's bliss. I've found my man. I've found my calling. I've accepted my heritage. I'm a Wilder, and I just know that Honeycomb Hall is going to be the home of my dreams - and that of my very own family.
Epilogue
Anita sat in Honeycomb Hall's kitchen and bit her bottom lip. Would she be crossing a line by using the special vial of honey in her Honey Lemon Tart that she was entering in the Franklin County Bake Off? Rachel had said she'd received it as a welcome gift from an enigmatic and apparently super hunky werebear that lived in the woods close by. Surely this werebear wouldn't mind Anita's using it in her recipe? After all, imagine if she won the Bake Off... she might just win enough money to open her own bakery. If so, she'd have to find this bear herself, and thank him in person.
Anita rested her chin on her palm and sighed. She wouldn't mind hunting down a gorgeous werebear in order to express her thanks. Oh no, not at all...
