Hummingbird Cove Page 12

by Giselle Fox

  She turned and looked back. Keira had been working away with a sly smile on her face. Words were spilling from her thoughts, through her fingers, and onto the virtual page. She looked happy. So happy.

  A part of that happiness is because of me, isn’t it?

  You still lied, she reminded herself again. Lying had wasted her chance with Keira even before she’d begun. I have to fix this, somehow. I have to leave here knowing I didn’t blow it.

  She looked out over the water again. The cove was buzzing with life. Insects hovered at the edge of the water. The heron was up in her nest behind the first row of trees. Sunlight glinted off the water in the most hypnotic way. The air felt full every time she inhaled. She filled her lungs with it, held her breath with her eyes closed. The tap, tapping behind her of Keira’s fingers on the keyboard stopped. She felt movement behind her. Presence. Electricity.

  “I didn’t understand before I came here, but I do now,” Daisy said. She turned around, faced Keira head-on, resting her back against the railing. “I’ve only ever imagined that people that live in such seclusion were a little…”

  Keira smiled. “Strange?”

  Daisy nodded.

  Keira’s brown eyes settled on hers and somehow wound their way deeper inside her mind. Daisy’s heart began to pound a little faster. Keira’s body felt like it was moving closer, though perhaps it was just the way she was looking at her that made it seem that way.

  I have to tell her now, before something happens, Daisy thought. Because something was about to happen, she was sure of it, either then or a few moments from then. “Keira-”

  Keira took a step forward. “Do you think I’m strange?”

  Daisy shook her head. “No. You make perfect sense.”

  Keira smiled back at her. “I don’t know if that’s true, but thank you.”

  “I’ve realized something,” Daisy said, turning to face the water again. She felt Keira take a step closer behind her.

  “What?”

  That loneliness wasn’t about the lack of interactions or things, she almost said before realizing it was much more specific than that. “I’ve missed being close to a woman,” she said through her breath. “Until I came here.”

  Several seconds passed before Keira replied, but when she did, Daisy felt it warm her shoulders like the sun. “I have, too, until you came.”

  And then, for a brief moment, Keira’s fingers slid under her elbow, gently caressing her skin before pulling away. Daisy turned, hoping she had the strength to say what had to be said before they went any further, but Keira smiled and took a step back through the open door.

  She sat down at the piano and began to play; chords that harmonized with the music playing above them just as she had the day before. Daisy watched and listened, to the notes, to the way they resonated. Keira’s bare feet danced over the pedals, muting notes, letting them ring. As Daisy stepped back into the library, Keira turned and smiled at her. “I wrote something I liked again just now. A scene.”

  “What kind of scene?”

  “This. Me playing piano. You, in the sun. Your hair, your dress, your skin. The subtle conversation we’ve been having ever since you got here. How much I’ve… wanted to kiss you.” She smiled and looked down at the keys. “I haven’t felt like doing that in a long time.”

  Keira’s words traveled through her like a tremor; knowing she’d been working behind her on a scene like that. She felt her feet move as if she was being carried by the soft notes, closer to the piano bench. She reached out, touched Keira’s arm, sliding her fingers along her shoulder and into the well of her clavicle. Separated from Keira’s bare skin by a thin layer of cotton, Daisy’s fingers craved more.

  In the reflection of the glossy black paint, their eyes met. Daisy rotated her hand and slid the backs of her fingers up Keira’s neck. She touched the silky brown waves at her nape, sliding them gently up just to know how it would feel to hold a handful of it. She stepped closer until Keira’s head was touching her breasts.

  Keira stopped playing, her fingers rested on the keys. She took a deep breath and then reached back and slid her hands down Daisy’s thighs.

  Daisy’s heart was beating hard and fast—so hard she knew that Keira must have felt it, too. She had to say something now before…

  But she didn’t. She was too wrapped up in the tumble that was happening between them. She stepped around the piano bench until she stood nearly in front of her, then she pushed herself between Keira and the piano keys.

  Keira rose suddenly and pressed Daisy back against the keyboard. There was a soft tinkle of notes, then thunder as Keira took grip of Daisy’s thighs and lifted her. Keira’s face was inches away, her brown eyes burning. Daisy felt her hunger and thirst. The need became fierce in both of them. Daisy took hold of her face, and in a rush of sound and heat, their lips came together.

  There it was, the kiss that Daisy had been waiting for. The kiss that Keira had written about. Off the page, live, and up close. There was nothing slow or delicate about it. No sweet exploration of mouths. To Daisy, it felt as though they’d both launched into a full-scale assault.

  She felt Keira’s strength once more as she was lifted and plunked more firmly onto the keys. Notes resonated up her spine like magical fingers come to awaken her. Awake was exactly how she felt. She clamped her legs around Keira’s thighs, holding on tight. She felt her dress get lifted and pulled away by Keira’s rough hands, and then the sensation of cool ivory keys against her bare skin.

  We’re going to do it on a piano, she thought, since that appeared to be exactly where they were going. She tipped her head back to provide better access to her neck. She was bitten, licked, and kissed in wild rushes of Keira’s mouth.

  With one well-aimed thrust of her foot, Keira sent the piano bench careening backward. She looked up into Daisy’s eyes, face flushed, lips full and wet from their kisses. She gave Daisy a grin that meant only one thing: sex was imminent.

  “Is this what you wrote about?” Daisy breathed.

  Keira captured her mouth again, kissed her until the question was ripped from her thoughts. Her fingers pulled and kneaded her nipple through the stretched bodice of her dress. The ache inside Daisy’s body became real and profound. The need to be touched and consumed, overwhelming. When Keira dropped to her knees in front of her and pushed what remained of her clothing aside, Daisy knew the answer was yes.

  CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

  It was a terrible thing to do to a piano, but Keira had been imaging it all morning; written about what it would be like to lift Daisy onto the keys and spread her legs. Now there she was, with Daisy’s scent and flavor surrounding her. Her soft thighs and soft fingers with neatly manicured nails pulling at her, sighs swelling and becoming notes of their own.

  Daisy caressed her head with one hand and held herself in place with the other. Her body was angled back, one leg on the floor for stability and the other gently resting on Keira’s bent knee. The whole picture was almost exactly how Keira had imagined it.

  She felt satisfied. It was good to hear a woman respond to her again, to taste desire welling between a woman’s thighs. Daisy was even more beautiful in disarray; sexier with her walls down. She needs this as bad as I do, Keira thought.

  Daisy was looking down at her, mouth dropped open, cheeks and lips flushed pink, her blue eyes burning, pupils full and dark. Her breath came in rasps, held until another flick of the tongue made it burst from her chest. The sound of a woman being properly pleasured was music to ears that had lived in silence for so long.

  Keira wanted more. Wanted the dress off and a view from a hundred different angles. She wanted her in her lap, bobbing and bucking like a rodeo rider. She wanted Daisy on her back so she could watch her puckered nipples reach for the vaulted ceiling, as her plump breasts swayed with the thrusts between her legs.

  Fucking a woman for the first time was like pop art—frantic, intuitive, splattered, and omni-directional. Up and down, top and bottom, ce
ased to exist. There was only in and out, capture and release, and the blurry line between pleasure and pain. The grip Daisy had on the back of her hair was riding that line. It was time to move.

  Keira pulled back, rising on her knees just enough to pull Daisy down onto the plush oval rug where it was warm and bleached from the sun. Daisy looked like a painting spread over it, her dress twisted, a breast exposed. The skirt hiked up to her hips, her panties slid partway down and to the side. Beautiful fabrics in complimentary colors, made for a woman that sheathed herself in fine things.

  Daisy gazed back at her, one arm raised, hand to her forehead, the other caressing her forearm, pulling her closer. Her legs were open, spread, knees up and wide. There was a slight tremor to the insides of her thighs. An ecstatic twitch. Daisy reached for the bottom of her shirt and lifted it. “Let me see your body.”

  Keira complied, pulling it off in a smooth upward sweep, discarding it somewhere on the way back down. She watched Daisy’s fingers curl into the waistband of her jeans, her warm knuckles grazing the top of her sex before they clasped the button of her fly and ripped it apart.

  Keira dropped onto her elbows, planting her lips on Daisy’s open mouth while Daisy’s hand plunged inside her jeans. There was a surge of movement below her, Daisy’s body responding to the first touches; her own body too taken by the touch to move.

  Their foreheads pressed together, eyes locked, breathing each other in. Daisy’s lips curled into a smile as her fingers kept up their tease inside her jeans. “God, I’ve missed pussy,” she exclaimed and then laughed until the laugh became moans again.

  Keira’s thoughts turned singular. Fingers. Fucking. Yes. She spread her knees. Daisy pushed in, deeper, moaning her delight. Keira’s body trembled.

  “Look at me,” Daisy rasped.

  Keira opened her eyes—saw white, black, and blue-green smiling back at her. She smiled, too. Sex was fun, not just angry or jealous. Not just spiteful. The smile held. She rose onto her knees, lifted Daisy’s legs, pushed them back and outward like a doll’s. Daisy’s smile widened. “You look dangerous.”

  Keira looked down at Daisy’s pink, wet pussy and then stood up to pull off her jeans and briefs. Daisy pulled down her panties, wriggled her dress over her head. They tossed aside their clothes.

  Keira pulled a blanket from the back of the rocking chair and threw it down on the oval rug. The rug was made of wool too prickly for naked skin. Daisy rolled up onto her knees, spread the blanket as Keira slowly circled around her. Then, Daisy kneeled in the center on all fours and looked back over her shoulder. She smiled and then lowered her head onto her hands, bum still lifted in the air.

  Keira smiled. Now there was an invitation.

  ~~~
  Keira was behind her, grin widening. Morning light was perfect for taking photos of neatly staged rooms. Daisy could have sold the whole cove with that one image. Lifestyle, elegance, the perfect blend of modern and rustic luxury with a strong touch of wild. Never mind the two women fucking in front of the baby grand.
  Keira kneeled behind her and slid her warm hands down her back. Daisy could feel her body heat, hovering just inches away. “I knew I would miss being with a woman when I got married.”
  “And did you?” Keira asked, her fingers slowly tracing down the length of her spine.
  Daisy inhaled sharply when those fingers hit home. “God, yes.”
  “What part did you miss the most?”
  “All of it, but being fucked by an equal, mostly. Not that men aren’t equals, but they have an annoying habit of imagining they’re above us, don’t they?”
  “I wouldn’t know. Never been with one.”
  Daisy looked back. Keira’s eyes were fixed between her legs, following the movements of her fingers. “Never?”
  “Nope. Never had the urge.”
  “You never craved cock?” Daisy said, laughing into her arm. “I’m sorry. I have a friend that talks about it like that and it’s always just made me cringe.”
  Keira smiled. “No, never craved it. At least not a live one.”
  “So you’ve been lesbianing all your life?”
  “Well, since I was seventeen.”
  “Ever slept with Jane?”
  Keira laughed. “No, Jane is my best friend. My very straight best friend.”
  “How interesting.”
  “Why is that interesting?”
  “I don’t know… maybe because I don’t have a best friend.”
  Keira bent her body over her back. “Is getting close to a woman too confusing for you?” she whispered in her ear.
  The breath made the inside of her body quiver. “Hmm, do I seem confused?”
  “No,” Keira said, her lips grazing Daisy’s cheek. “You look pretty sure about what you want.”
  “You, apparently.”
  Keira slid her fingers through Daisy’s wetness again. “Apparently.” Then she pushed her fingers inside.
  Daisy was rendered speechless for several seconds as a whole spectrum of sensations washed over her. Nimble fingers slipped and slid inside the depths of her vagina as though they were on an exploratory mission, getting the lay of the land, slowly working their pads over every zone. Then, Keira scooted forward on one knee, the other leg bent, her foot out to the side for balance, and settled into a long, slow in and out.
  Daisy could hear the sounds of her own excitement behind her. Keira slid her other hand around front and began to tease her from that angle. Daisy took deep breaths, arched her back, and widened her knees to allow better access. She was wide open now. Keira was well inside, filling up the void with her masterful lines.
  She tucked her head and watched her hands work between her legs. Keira’s hips thrusted gently at the air behind her, the muscles of her gorgeous butt tightening each time.
  Daisy felt caught in that blissful place between wanting to climax and not wanting it to end. Judging from how slow and deliberately Keira was moving, she assumed she felt the same. There was still so much time left before the sun fell behind the trees. So much time before nightfall and whatever darkness would bring. She pushed back against Keira’s hand, matching her rhythm easily. “What are you thinking about?” she breathed, needing to know what was going through Keira’s mind.
  “What am I thinking about?” Keira rasped, her fingers pushing gently. “I’m just enjoying you. Your body is beautiful.”
  “Mmm, it likes what you’re doing,” Daisy replied, turning her head so their eyes met. They smiled at each other, shyly. Daisy reached back and stroked Keira’s thigh. “Why didn’t you kiss me last night?”
  “Why didn’t you?” Keira asked, grinning.
  “You seemed tired.”
  “Mmm, I wasn’t.”
  “Did you think of me after you left?”
  “Yes.”
  “How much?”
  “Right up until I fell asleep.”
  Daisy pulled away from Keira’s hand and rolled onto her back. “I thought about fucking you in the sauna.”
  Keira grinned. “No wonder it was so hot in there.”
  “Then I thought about kissing you against the big tree outside your front door.”
  “The pine?”
  “Yes, I think so.”
  Keira grinned. “Your hair would have been full of sap.”
  “Or yours. Who knows?”
  Keira glanced at the open balcony doors. “Would you… like to go outside?”
  Seconds later they were both standing out on the deck wearing nothing but their smiles. Daisy held the blanket while Keira swept a spot clear of fallen cones. She watched Keira’s perky ass move around the deck, her pert little breasts chilling in the air. The sun was streaming down but it was still months early to be standing naked outside. Despite that reality, the cold was as tantalizing as anything with Keira had been. Daisy dropped the blanket and pushed Keira gently toward the railing until she was facing the water. She slid in behind her, cupping her hands under her bum. “This ass has been tempt
ing me since I got here.”
  “Has it?” Keira laughed.
  Daisy dropped down and gave both of her cheeks a little kiss. “That red bikini—so unfair. How was my little bisexual self supposed to feel?”
  “Tempted, I was hoping.”
  “Mmm, you were right,” Daisy said. “Turn around.”
  Keira turned and looked down at her. Then she smiled. “Now you look dangerous.”
  “You have no idea,” Daisy said and grabbed hold of Keira’s thighs. She pulled her into her mouth, let her lips spread her petals open and her tongue plunge between. Woman, she thought, so beautiful. So… perfect.
  Keira opened her legs, lifted one onto the ball of her foot, angled outward. Daisy slid her hands slowly all the way up to her nipples, cold and hardened against the chill. She pinched them and buried her tongue deeper.
  She’d wanted moans and she got them. She wanted to see white knuckles gripping the railing and she got those, too. She added her own fingers into the mix. They slid inside Keira without effort. She knew she could make her come in an instant if she wanted. She wanted to hear what that would sound like, echoing off the water, mixing with the music of the natural world.
  She wanted Keira everywhere, to hear her sounds all over that little section of paradise. On the dock where she’d first seen her swim. Against the pine tree with sap and needles clung into her back. Against the soft mossy rocks below the cabin, and inside the smoky cedar chambers of the sauna. She wanted Keira to finish her off against the piano, to hear it pound deep and discordant as she came.
  Keira was smiling down at her, softly tugging her hair, caressing her cheek, her body flushing red, breath rasping through her teeth. Daisy pulled her down onto the blanket, pushed open her legs wide and then thrust in hard, fast strokes until Keira’s fingers clenched tight around her biceps and she cried out, head back, gasps surging through her chest.
  Daisy fell triumphant into her arms. Held her until the tremors of her release softened and stilled. They kissed, slowly, deeply, eyes open. The wind rushed through the trees above them, blowing up a storm of needles and leaves. A sun shower streamed down through invisible clouds, lighting prisms in the mist. It fell all around them, dampening their faces.
