Fallen For A Biker_BWWM Romance Page 14

by Erica A. Davis

Dagmar saw David approach Brittany from behind and straightened up, looking Brittany in the eye.

“How about you don’t? Not with David present. I don’t think he’d like that.”

  “What?”

Brittany wavered, her knife lowering. Then David tapped her on the shoulder. Brittany turned, looking up into his glare. She smiled brightly, standing up suddenly.

“David! What are you doing here? I thought you were at the office.”

“I was. Until Mom told me what you’d written about Dagmar in your diary.” David plucked the knife from her hand before Brittany could react. “I’ll take that, I think.”

“What?” Brittany blinked. She stuttered, starting to flounder. “Why are you doing that? She needs to be out of our lives. We can’t be together until she’s gone!”

David shook his head, handing the knife to his father.

“That’s not going to happen, Brittany. Even if Dagmar disappeared, I wouldn’t be with you. Not unless you intend to kill Nick as well.”

  “I…”

  David’s jaw tightened.

“You touched Dagmar. That would’ve broken my heart. If you’d touched Nick, I would’ve ripped your head off. And where would that leave Melanie? Or Rachelle? With no parents.” He grabbed Brittany and shoved her towards Robson. “Take her out of here, Dad. I don’t want to look at her.”

“With pleasure. The police should be here by now.” Robson twisted Brittany’s arm behind her, making Brittany cry out. “Come along, Britt. There are a few people waiting for you. They have some questions.”

“What?” Brittany began to tug away from her father-in-law but Robson held her tightly. “No! Please, David, no!”

David ignored her, kneeling in front of Dagmar. Dagmar had never felt so relieved to see anyone before. David grabbed her head and kissed her. Dagmar let him. She didn’t want him to stop.

Until her ankles grated against each other again. She pulled back with a wince.

  “Get these off me, please.”

David obliged, reaching for a pair of scissors on the mantelpiece and cutting through the duct tape. Behind them, Brittany was beginning to panic. She struggled and tugged against Robson but he wouldn’t let her go.

“No, don’t do that! Leave her alone! She’s not supposed to be with you! I am!”

David growled and flung a scowl at Robson.

“What the hell is she still doing here? Get her out, Dad!”

Robson said nothing as he dragged Brittany out. But Brittany wouldn’t stop, pulling away to try and get to David.

“David, please! No, don’t let her fool you! I love you! You don’t need her!”

Dagmar could still feel her screaming in her head even after she left. But she was more concerned about diving into David’s arms, who clutched hold of her as if her life depended upon it. He was trembling.

Dagmar had never felt him like this before.

  *****

It was nearly dawn before Dagmar got discharged. She had a concussion and contusions on her wrists and ankles but nothing she couldn’t handle. Although her head felt like it wanted to come apart every few minutes. It reminded her of the film Jigsaw when one of the victims had his head sliced open and peeled apart like an orange.

David didn’t leave her side. He refused to go anywhere. Not even the nurses could make him shift. He stayed by her bedside, holding her hand. Dagmar was grateful for that. Knowing he was there made her feel better.

He kept her sane. And he kept her updated.

Robson had texted sometime during the night. He had escorted Brittany to the police station with a police guard. Brittany had broken down in the lobby and attacked one of the officers, threatening to kill him. She was now in the psych ward.

Dagmar had suspected Brittany was jealous, but this was different. This she had never suspected. It was horrific that she had never thought Brittany would attack her and attempt to kill her, just to have David.

Nick, according to what David said, was distraught. He had suspected the crush – it wasn’t the first time that had happened – but he had never suspected it, either. He had freaked out when Renee told him and broken down. Renee had texted David to say she was going to stay with Nick for a while, just to make sure he could cope alone.

Dagmar couldn’t begin to think how Melanie was feeling. She was old enough to know something was going on. She had Nick but not Brittany. She had lost both her biological parents due to their crimes.

Dagmar wanted to hug the girl right then.

But David told her that she needed to go home and sleep. Dagmar wasn’t about to argue with that. She was practically asleep in his passenger seat before David had pulled out the parking lot.

When she opened her eyes, the sun was coming up above the horizon. And they weren’t at Dagmar’s apartment. They were at David’s house.

Dagmar sat up as David’s pulled into the drive.

  “What are we doing here?”

“Your apartment is classed as a crime scene of now.” David gave her a half-smile. “I thought it would be better if you stayed here.”

Dagmar liked the sound of that. She hadn’t forgotten why she had left but she wasn’t about to argue. She let David help her out of the car and into the house. David wrapped an arm around her and kissed her head.

  “Do you want anything?”

  Dagmar smiled.

“A bath might be nice. I’m too tired to stand up for a shower.”

  “I can do that.”

David lifted her into his arms and carried her up the stairs. He entered the bathroom and set her down on the toilet before turning on the taps. Soon, steam filled the room, as well as the sweet aroma of strawberries from the bubble bath David splashed into the water. Dagmar grimaced as she stripped off her clothes, dropping them onto the floor. She was too tired to care if David saw her naked. Doubtful she would be in the mood for sex at all.

David turned to her. His eyes wandered over her body but he didn’t say anything. He simply held out his hand and helped her into the bath. Dagmar settled into the bubbles and sighed. It felt really good. Better than she anticipated.

She heard a rustling of clothing and looked up. David was stripping as well, already down to his boxers. Dagmar’s mouth fell open.

  “What are you doing?”

“I’m getting in with you.” David grinned as he shucked his boxers. “You’ve got a concussion, Dagmar. I shouldn’t leave you alone.”

Dagmar giggled. Then the giggle died away when she saw his cock. Long, thick, and hard. He was more than ready.

Suddenly, her pussy pulsated. Dagmar had to bite her lip, it was that strong.

She shifted forward and David stepped into the water behind it. It was a big and deep enough bath that it could hold two of them comfortably. David settled back against the bath edge and pulled Dagmar into his arms. Dagmar sighed and sat back against him.

  “How’s that?”

Dagmar smiled, aware that David was palming her breast and her nipple was hardening against his hand.

  “Much better.”

They lay like that for a while longer. It was comfortable, almost as if they hadn’t had a fight. Dagmar could feel the elephant in the room, lurking in the corner. She didn’t want to address it now, but it had to be done.

She turned in the water onto her knees, placing her hands on David’s chest. David’s hands lowered, settling on her waist.

  “What is it, Dagmar?”

“I…” Dagmar closed her eyes for a moment, opening them to see David’s frown. “Listen, David, I’m sorry.”

“What for?” David’s hands squeezed her waist. “I should be the one who should be sorry. I set my sights on you and Brittany took objection to that.”

“I thought she was crazy on you.” Dagmar leaned into him, resting her forehead against his. “I didn’t realize just how crazy.”

“And I would never have put you in harms way had I known that.”

  “I
know that.” Dagmar swallowed. With her throat it still hurt to swallow. “But we didn’t know. There’s nothing we can do about it now.”

“I guess.” David paused. “And…what about us?”

Dagmar knew what he was talking about. She sat back, tapping her fingers slowly across his chest.

“What do you want to do about us?”

“I know that I don’t want you to walk away.” David sat up and kissed her, a brief brush of lips. “And I’m really sorry about what I did. It’s how I was raised; go for retribution. Unfortunately, I went too early.”

  Dagmar grunted.

“You should’ve waited until Luke was out.”

“That’s what Mom said. She said I was an idiot.” David’s hands went around to Dagmar’s backside and he gently squeezed her cheeks. “And I’d be an idiot for letting you go.”

  “She really said that?”

“She did and she was right.” David swallowed. “I don’t want you to go and I’ve never said that to any woman, not even my girlfriends before I was a millionaire.”

It was getting hard to concentrate with David squeezing her behind the way he was. Dagmar’s pussy was throbbing, her clit almost sore as she silently begged for David to touch her. She swallowed and shifted, putting her legs on either side of David’s hips. His cock brushed against her pussy. David gasped, his hands tightening a fraction. Dagmar grinned.

“I don’t want to go anywhere, either. But you do have a lot of making up to do.”

David grinned. Then he gently pressed her down.

  “How about we start now?”

At this angle, he seemed bigger, sharper. Dagmar moaned and rolled her hips, taking him even deeper.

David took his time, not thrusting up into Dagmar, simply making her move on him, slowly. He kissed her in a way that made Dagmar shiver, his hands dancing across her skin. They were taking it slow, slower than she had experienced before, and it was the most erotic thing she had ever done.

It seemed David felt the same way. He lifted her out of the bath and turned, placing her on the edge of the bathtub, his cock still inside her. Then he started thrusting, still keeping his movements slow. Dagmar wrapped her legs around his waist and clutched at his shoulders. Her orgasm was tightening in her belly, her whole body lighting up.

When it hit her, Dagmar let out a loud moan, which was swallowed by David’s mouth. He held onto her tightly so she didn’t fall off the edge of the bathtub as he thrust one last time with a growl against her lips. Dagmar felt him shudder and then slide back into the water, taking her with him.

David lifted his head and gave her a smile.

  “I love you.”

That brought tears to her eyes.

“I love you, too.” She kissed him and gave him an impish look. “Was that all of the making up?”

  David grinned. His eyes glinted.

“Let’s get out of the bath and I can show you more ways I can make it up to you.”

Dagmar wasn’t going to argue with that.

  The end.

  Chapter 1

Danielle’s heels tapped across the floor as she stepped into the elevator. The dark sunglasses on her face were more than enough to indicate trouble. Danielle very rarely lost control of situations, but when she did her head usually paid for it. As well as the people around her.

The night before had been Danielle’s twenty-ninth birthday. While she generally enjoyed her birthday, she’d been dreading this one for a while. It wasn’t that she was bothered about getting older, or that she felt unaccomplished. On the contrary, Danielle had just about everything that she could want. A successful career, an amazing apartment, a new car that she’d just bought and friends and family that she cared about. There was only one thing missing from her life. A baby.

As if her mind wasn’t torturing her enough about the situation, a woman stepped into the elevator with a baby strapped onto her back. The baby was swathed in light pink. She looked at Danielle as she sucked on her fist. Danielle felt a longing in her chest. She turned away.

After everything that Danielle had accomplished so far in her life, she’d thought that a husband and baby would have been on the list. However, between the long work hours, endless traveling and failed relationships, she’d never been able to get to that point in her life where a baby seemed like a good idea. Now, she seemed to be able to hear the ticking of her biological clock.

Danielle knew that most people wouldn’t consider being a little over thirty to be too old to have a baby, but she did. She wanted to spend time with her child while she was still young enough, had enough patience to enjoy it. As the woman told her to have a good day and stepped from the elevator, Danielle nodded. She knew she had to push away all of the distractions. It was time for work.

The sounds of the busy office were the first thing to hit her as she walked in. The smell of coffee was second. She gave out good mornings as quickly as she could. All Danielle wanted was the comfort of her office. In there at least she could pull the blinds, kick off her shoes and try to start her day over right.

It was odd for her to be out of sorts, she hardly ever was. Danielle was the type that kept a schedule for everything and she rarely deviated from her plans. The woman slid behind her desk before she powered up her laptop. Duke would be in soon, but for a few more moments she had some peace and quiet.

  “Bilson!”

Danielle groaned as the door burst open. Duke strolled into her office, a big grin on his face. Usually, his smile was contagious, but the hangover was really doing a number on her head. She ushered a small smile.

“Duke, what are you doing here so early?”

“You said we had contracts to go over. I already finished my morning run, so I figured, why not?”

Danielle sighed. “Let me get them, then we can start. Okay?”

  “Whatever you say, boss.”

Danielle shook her head, but it did bring a smile to her lips. She turned around in her chair to rifle through the metal filing cabinet before she turned around again. Duke had taken his seat across from her, one leg crossed over the other. She placed the contracts on the shiny, dark wood of her desk before she pushed them over to him.

As Duke looked them over, she couldn’t help but to glance at him. Duke Smythe, after all, was the
American dream. A small town boy from humble roots, now the most successful quarterback the world had ever seen. He’d earned the nickname “Bulldozer.” Danielle could understand why, even if she hadn’t ever watched a game. He was six-two with a muscled hardened body that made him look intimidating, but Danielle knew that he wouldn’t hurt a fly.

The women all went wild over him. He had golden, tan skin that just invited to be touched. Pale blue eyes that reminded Danielle of the blue she’d become accustomed to in swimming pools. His hair was a golden spun blond, the front of it growing longer every day. Even as she watched, he pushed several strands off of his face so that he could read the contract. When he was finished, he signed his name on the bottom before he pushed the papers back to her.

“I had fun at your party last night,” he said as he stretched.

Danielle bit the top of her pen. “Too much fun. How I let you talk me into so many shots of tequila, I will never know.”

Duke laughed, his chuckle deep. “I told you we were going to have a good time. Didn’t you like it?”

She tried to hide her smile. “Okay, it was pretty awesome. For the most part.”

  “Why for the most part?”

  She shrugged. “It’s not important.”

“Sure, whatever you say, boss,” he said as he stood up. “Want to get lunch together in a little while?”

  “You paying?”

Duke grinned. “Sure, why not? I’ll see you at twelve.”

Danielle returned his wave as he stepped out of her office, closing the door behind him. She sighed. It had been a long while since she’d been on a date, or anything resembling one. Working with a bunch of guys opened her up to a lot of late night parties, especially if she wanted to make sure that no unwanted injuries happened. With all the drinking some of those men did, it was a wonder she wasn’t fielding calls about broken bones all day long.

It would be good to get out and not be dodging drunks the entire time. Danielle smiled to herself, happy with the prospect of new beginnings. The workday seemed to zoom by after that, with contracts being sent, signed and filed. The firm had three new recruits coming on. One trade and two fresh-out-of-college players that would enhance the lineup. The negotiations had taken weeks, and Danielle was so happy to finally be done with them.
