Luke had noticed before that Elizabeth’s breasts seemed to be slightly bigger than they were a month or two before; they were definitely more sensitive, and as he moved down from her throat to her chest, he tried to be careful not to be too rough with them. Elizabeth managed to get the fly of his jeans open, and Luke shifted around on the couch as soon as his jeans were down around his knees, pulling Elizabeth into his lap. They were down to nothing more than Elizabeth’s panties and Luke’s shorts, kissing each other again and again, and Luke groaned at the pressure he could feel in his balls, the throbbing ache in his cock from how hard he already was.

He knew that there wouldn’t be too much time--or patience, for either of them--for foreplay. Luke reached up between Elizabeth’s legs and rubbed her through the fabric of her panties, finding her already wet enough to have partially soaked through the lacy material. He smiled to himself and rubbed her more firmly, seeking out the little bead of nerves that made up her clitoris through the fabric. “You’re not going to be able to get waxed anymore, you know,” he murmured against her breasts.

“I know,” Elizabeth replied absently. “You’re going to have to get used to a hairier playground down there.”“I can deal with that,” Luke told her. He slipped his fingers around the elastic of Elizabeth’s panties and stroked her flesh directly, probing along her slick folds until he found her clit. He rubbed slowly, back and forth, up and down, side to side and then in little swirling circles of his fingertips against the little nub, drawing moans out of her throat and making Elizabeth wetter and wetter.

They both squirmed and writhed around on the couch, getting the last two layers of clothes separating their bodies off of each other, and then--proving Luke at least slightly wrong--they began to rub against each other, Luke rocking his hips up against Elizabeth’s, pressing his cock along her slick folds. He wanted to be inside of her so badly--wanted to feel her tightening around him as she became more and more turned on and came closer and closer to orgasm.

They moved around on the couch again so that Luke was almost laying down with his shoulders against the arm of the sofa, and Elizabeth straddled his hips, her hands over his shoulders to balance herself. She sank down onto Luke’s cock, and Luke moaned as her tight, wet heat wrapped around him bit by bit. “God, you feel so good,” Luke told her, cupping her breasts carefully with his hands, rubbing his thumbs against her already-hardened nipples.

He thrust up into her just as Elizabeth finished sinking down, and for a moment, they both stayed like that, not moving. The next moment, Luke sat up slightly and kissed Elizabeth hungrily on the lips as they began to move together, falling into a rhythm like a tidal flow. Luke alternated between Elizabeth’s breasts and hips, pushing her down onto him and caressing and touching her teasingly as he thrust into her, deeper and deeper.

Elizabeth rose and fell on top of him, twisting her hips slightly as her muscles flexed around his cock, and Luke struggled to hold back the orgasm he could already feel gathering in his balls. They kept the rhythm for what seemed like an eternity to Luke, just enough to keep him almost painfully turned on but not enough to give him relief.

He reached up between Elizabeth’s legs and found her clit by touch, and began stroking her as he thrust into her a little faster, and then a little faster. Elizabeth began to speed up as well, pushing herself down onto him as she moaned and cried out in pleasure. Luke struggled to hold back, but he knew he wouldn’t last for much longer; he kissed and nibbled at her neck and up to her lips, down to her breasts even as he touched and stroked her clit. Luke held back just long enough to feel the tension break through Elizabeth’s body as she moaned out long and low.

He struggled to give her a few moments to enjoy the climax raging through her body first and then gave into the tension building up deep down along his groin. Luke moaned against Elizabeth’s breasts and then her mouth, as wave after wave of pleasure washed through him. He felt his cock twitching inside of Elizabeth’s body as he came, buried deep inside of her, both of them still moving together. He kissed her again and again, holding onto his climax for as long as he could. All at once, the last of the waves of sensation washed through him, and Luke fell back, spent, panting for breath.

“Not even long enough for the Chinese to go cold,” he told Elizabeth as soon as he could speak. Elizabeth giggled and pulled herself back from his chest to look down into his eyes.

“And now, I am actually starving,” she said. “So, the timing is perfect.” Luke chuckled and reached carefully over to the coffee table, plucking a crab rangoon out of one of the boxes. He held it up to Elizabeth’s mouth, and she bit into it, smiling.

“So first, we eat, and then we figure out what we’re going to do about this Kelly situation,” Luke said. “Right?” Elizabeth nodded.

“Right,” she said. Luke kissed her again and dismissed the worry from his mind for the time being.

  The Final Chapter

Conservatory, trying not to seem as impatient as she felt. If things went well, she and Luke would be on the first step towards potentially getting Kelly out of his life for good; of course, Elizabeth reminded herself, there was still a chance that some element of what Luke’s ex had said was true. She could have--theoretically--been pregnant with his child and not yet showing, could have had the child without telling him.

That wouldn’t make any sense, though, she thought. If she has his child, the best way she could possibly get revenge on him would be to make sure the whole world knows it. Elizabeth took a slow breath, looking around. She was almost through the first trimester of her pregnancy and not quite showing yet--at least, not in normal clothes. There was a faint bulge at her abdomen when she was naked, but only Luke and the doctor and Elizabeth herself saw that.

Kelly had agreed to meet her at the conservatory to talk about the situation with Luke, and Elizabeth hoped that it would be over and done with quickly. They needed to confirm whether or not the child in the picture that Kelly had sent her was real and, if so, whether she was Luke’s child. From there, they could move forward; legal proceedings would be fairly easy, but Elizabeth had told Luke that to really make Kelly get the point, they would have to basically publicly humiliate her.

They would have to make sure that the world knew about what she’d been doing. She’d have to go into hiding and rehabilitate her image, which would give her no time at all to keep going after Luke.

In the weeks since they’d had their conversation about what Kelly had told her, Elizabeth had heard--in bits and pieces--more details about the end of Luke’s relationship with his most recent ex. Luke hadn’t said as much, but Elizabeth thought that the woman seemed to be offended not only that she wasn’t apparently acceptable enough for Luke to marry, but also that she was being deprived of a lifestyle she had come to believe was hers by right.

Luke had, he admitted, kept her supported while they’d been dating, the same way he was doing with Elizabeth, and he’d bought her gifts constantly, trying to make up for the lack of feelings he had towards her. He’d realized the error of his ways in letting Kelly think that there was something serious between them, but Elizabeth thought it would take longer for Luke to understand why it was a bad idea to constantly shower even people he did care about with gifts.

That opened up a question that had been festering in the back of Elizabeth’s mind: what kind of parent was Luke going to be on his own? They hadn’t really talked about the possibility of Elizabeth taking any role in helping to raise the child--possibly the twins--she was carrying for him, even though they’d talked vaguely about keeping the relationship going even after she delivered, if they both felt the same way.

It was, she had to admit, an awkward position for them: they both had separate lives, and they’d entered into their agreement with no intention whatsoever of mingling their lives, of coming together in a partnership. Elizabeth hadn’t even let herself think of what it might be like to be with Luke more permanently, to raise a child--or children--with him.r />
She was at twelve weeks, and the next ultrasound would be the one where they’d be able to tell if Elizabeth was carrying twins or not. It would be much longer before they found out the genetic sex; Doctor Marchman had given them the option of CVS testing or amniocentesis, but since there was not much of a chance of genetic problems between them, they hadn’t decided on it outright.

Elizabeth spotted Kelly walking towards her through the conservatory and brought her mind back around to the present. She had a task to accomplish, and she needed to focus on it. Elizabeth waved to get Kelly’s attention, and the blonde woman walked towards her along the path, looking more interested.

“It took you two months to get in touch; didn’t you believe me?” Elizabeth wanted to roll her eyes but resisted the urge.

“I had a lot of stuff to sort out, and actually, no. I didn’t believe you. Not enough to act on anything right away,” Elizabeth replied. “A picture and some photocopies are not really enough, you know? Especially when I don’t know you.”

“You don’t know Luke either,” Kelly said tartly. Elizabeth resisted the temptation to smile; obviously, the woman hadn’t done her homework that thoroughly if she didn’t know that Luke and Elizabeth had been involved in high school. Of course, that was more difficult for someone to find out through searches or hacking than was the fact that she was working with Luke.

They had come up with a theory about how Kelly had tracked her down: the only way that Luke could think of for Kelly to have even known anything about his attempts at surrogacy was for her to have gotten the information from someone at his lawyer’s or accountant’s offices. From there, it wouldn’t have been that difficult for Kelly to find out how Luke was trying to find a surrogate, but who he’d chosen would be a little harder; of course, Elizabeth had pointed out, once he’d gotten the contract signed, if she had a contact somewhere, she could get that information.

The other thing they needed to find out was whether there even was a child in the first place. “I wanted to find out more about your story,” Elizabeth said. “I mean, it’s kind of an intense tale, you have to admit. If Luke wants a kid, why wouldn’t he at least try to get custody from you?” She crossed her arms over her chest.

“I don’t think he actually wants a kid,” Kelly said, shrugging. “I think he thinks he wants a kid, but then when that reality sets in, he might abandon you the same way he did me.” Elizabeth noticed she hadn’t actually answered the question.

“Yeah, but even if he just thinks he wants a kid, why not try to get custody from you? I mean, a simple DNA test would show that he’s the father, and he’s a billionaire, after all...it wouldn’t be hard for him to get at least partial custody.”

“He made me sign the agreement,” Kelly said. “If I brought that into court, then that would make things complicated for him.” Elizabeth shrugged.

“I just...I’m sorry, but a picture of a baby doesn’t really convince me, you know? It doesn’t add up. I just want to make sure, before I tell Luke to get bent, that I’m doing it for the right reasons.”

“What kind of proof do you want?”

Elizabeth considered how best to answer that question. The goal--obviously--was to get some kind of proof, one way or another, about the existence of a child and whether that child was Luke’s.

“If you can just give me some kind of proof that you have a kid by Luke, I’d be on your side completely,” Elizabeth said. She saw the woman thinking and wondered just how committed Kelly was and how far out on a limb she was willing to go.

“I can show you Mary’s birth certificate,” she said. “And I can introduce you to Mary.” Elizabeth nodded.

“That would be perfect, and it would give me something to confront Luke with too,” she said. “You know, he does have a contract with me. It’s not going to be easy to get out of it.”

“Oh, I know,” Kelly said, nodding and beginning to warm up to her. “I mean, I’ve got that contract too, the one where I can’t say anything formally about Mary or she loses that trust fund.”

“I totally understand,” Elizabeth said. “If you can just let me meet Mary and show me her birth certificate, then I’ll be a complete believer, and that way I can try and get out of the contract. You’re not allowed to tell about her, but that doesn’t mean I’m not.”

“Okay. I’ll get you a copy of Mary’s birth certificate, and then I’ll figure out a way to arrange for you to meet her,” Kelly said. “When are you free?” Elizabeth thought about that question for a moment. In truth, she was free whenever she wanted to be: the main selling point of freelancing was making her own hours. But she didn’t want Kelly to know too much more about her than she already did. There was also the question of Luke’s involvement in the plan.

“You can bring her to my place anytime in the next week,” Elizabeth said. “If you just give me about one hour’s notice, I can make sure I’m there. Maybe while you’re out running errands or something?”

“That’ll work,” Kelly said. “I’ll have someone get you the birth certificate tomorrow or the next day.” Elizabeth nodded.

“Sounds good. Let’s take him down, if we can,” she said. They wandered through the conservatory for a little while longer, and then Elizabeth made an excuse to leave. She needed to meet with Luke and see how they were going to conduct the next part of the plan they’d come up with, given what Kelly had said.

Elizabeth left the Conservatory and took out her phone as she walked through Garfield Park itself. Where can I meet you? Luke texted back immediately, and Elizabeth grinned. He was probably more anxious about the whole operation than she was; not that she blamed him, since it was his reputation being smeared.

Dave’s Red Hots. Not ten minutes away by car. Elizabeth had driven to the park and its conservatory for her meeting with Kelly; she had already started towards where she’d left the car when she texted Luke. She put in the name of the business and found the address, telling the GPS app to give her directions.

Luke was right: it took less than ten minutes to get from the park to the restaurant where Luke wanted to meet her, and Elizabeth was glad to see--as she suspected--that it was nothing fancy: sandwiches and hot dogs, Chicago style being the main seller, with the kind of delicious fried things that Elizabeth loved. It was a great place to meet up, especially since she was hungry.

“So, did she take the bait?” Luke pushed a wrapped bundle in front of her, across the table he’d been sitting at when she arrived. It was the Chicago favorite: an Italian beef sandwich. Elizabeth unwrapped the bundle and took a big bite.

“I want a hot dog too,” she said carefully as she chewed the delicious combination of roast beef, au jus, bread, and spicy-pickled vegetables. Elizabeth grinned at Luke, who gave her an indulgent smile in return.

“Just don’t eat too fast, or you’ll get heartburn again,” he suggested. Elizabeth shrugged.

“Worth it,” she said as she finished her first bite. “And yes, Kelly took the bait. She’s going to send me a copy of the kid’s birth certificate and let me meet Mary.” Luke nodded slowly and started in on his own sandwich.

“I have someone who can authenticate a birth certificate,” he said. “My lawyer apparently has someone on the staff. And if she brings a kid to meet you, we can probably prove whether she is or isn’t my child, if you can get a stray hair or something like that.” Elizabeth nodded.

“That was what we figured, right?” She took another bite of her sandwich. It was absolutely delicious--sour, savory, spicy, all the things she had wanted without knowing she wanted them. It was easy to see why it was such a favorite, though she wasn’t quite as sold on Chicago-style hot dogs. Elizabeth grabbed a few fries from the basket in the middle of the table and added them to her mouthful.

“What do you think?” Elizabeth considered Luke’s question. They had taken their time coming up with the plan, and she was convinced that Luke hadn’t actually committed Kelly to some kind of non-disclosure agreement, and that i
f there was a child, he hadn’t known about it until Elizabeth had brought it up.

“I think that she’s lying from top to bottom,” Elizabeth said. “I’m interested to see what she comes up with for a kid.” Mary was supposed to be a girl of a little less than one year old, and while Elizabeth had thought that it wouldn’t have been hard to find a picture of an infant with the right characteristics to sell the idea of Luke having a love-child somewhere, she thought it would be much harder to come up with the actual child.

“Yeah, if she doesn’t have a kid by me, then that’s going to get interesting,” Luke agreed.

“And your private investigator, has he come up with anything yet?” Luke shook his head. Of course, Elizabeth knew that it was going to be much harder to look into anything related to medical records; there were too many laws restricting who could even have access to them, and even an experienced private investigator would have trouble.

“He hasn’t found anything, but he’s looking into ways and means,” he said.

“So, we get her to put herself out there with falsified documentation and a fake kid--assuming she is fake--and then, we go to the press and also the courts,” Elizabeth said.

“Exactly,” Luke said. “I have the other blackmail attempts she made against me catalogued, and this actually might be legally fraud. If she creates a fake birth certificate, then that could be enough to get criminal charges against her.”

Elizabeth nodded again, eating a couple of bites more of her sandwich. She wanted the situation resolved as quickly as possible, but she knew that they had to be careful not to tip Kelly off too soon. Kelly didn’t know--as far as Elizabeth was aware--that Elizabeth was already pregnant.

That would help things. It apparently hadn’t occurred to her to wonder why there wasn’t more going on, more than three months after her arrival in the city. Maybe the other woman thought that she had failed to conceive, and they were going to move onto other methods? Of course, Kelly didn’t seem to know much about her beyond the fact that she was a surrogate.
