by Allyson Lindt

Luci wasn’t sure if she wanted to laugh or cry.

“Hey.” Blake reached up and laced his fingers through hers. A smile played on his face, instead of the negativity Luci expected. His voice was calm, and soothing, despite the fact he sounded exhausted. “It’s all okay. I’m all right, and so are you.”

  ****

Hot water sluiced over Luci’s head and down her back. She leaned forward in the shower and pressed her forehead to the cool tile. She couldn’t help but smile. She’d only been here at Blake’s for a week, and especially if she ignored the insanity that had been their first twenty-four hours together, it had been an incredible week. She was still adjusting to the memories of three other lifetimes, but she knew now they were all hers. Not overlapping time lines or conflicting ideas, but experiences she’d lived in another time and place.

The shower door slid open, and the cool air chased steam around her before vanishing again. Blake rested his hands on her hips, pressed his chest into her bare back, and traced his lips up her neck. “Good morning, Elskede.”

The word filled her. He’d told her it meant beloved. Despite the jumble of past lives, it was hers and hers alone. She leaned against him. “I’m pretty sure you already showered.”

His hard length pressed into her ass. He traced along the scar on her hip. Eli had been able to heal the slash through her birthmark, but not hide the wound. She didn’t mind. It felt right that the symbol was scarred over now. “But I’m feeling dirty again,” Blake said.

“I know a solution for that.” She plucked the shower gel from the shelf in front of her and handed it over her shoulder. After the incident with Morrigan, they’d determined Blake had exhausted his power and completely neutralized the goddess’s, leaving them both mortal. They’d stuck Morrigan with local police, amid protests that she was a goddess and threats that she’d make everyone pay.

Luci heard a squirt, and seconds later, something cold hit her stomach. She squealed at the sudden jolt.

“Sorry.” Blake sounded anything but. His touch warmed quickly, as he soaped his palms up her torso. Her giggles faded into a moan when he brushed the underside of her breasts. His tight grip, combined with the slick surface, sent shudders of pleasure through her.

She squirmed under his touch. “Do you really want to do this in here?”

“Here. The bedroom. Anywhere I can have you.” He dipped a hand between her legs. His touch was light at first, caressing her outer lips and teasing the wetness from her.

She ground against his erection. “Anywhere?”

“Pressed against the glass, moaning in pleasure. Bent over the dining room table.” He parted her folds and sought out her clit. “Anywhere.”

Water cascaded over them. The soap rinsed and pooled at their feet before vanishing down the drain.

He rubbed her aching button. “I have a lot of catching up to do.”

Anticipation built inside as he stroked. Her senses soared. Her gasps became short pants for breath. He dug his teeth into her shoulder, and she sucked in sharply through her teeth. He eased off and then pressed harder. Her head threatened to float away, as blood rushed downward, toward her swollen bud. The sharp scents of citrus soap and Blake filled her nostrils. Luci swam through all of it—the heat of the water, his skilled touch, the sound of his grunts. It all crashed over her when she came, carrying her on a wave and drawing her through ecstasy.

She pushed against his hand, until she couldn’t take anymore and shuddered away.

“See?” His deep voice drilled into her thoughts, and he nipped at her earlobe. “Now, we take this into the other room.”

  Chapter Fourteen

Luci reached for a towel, and Blake grabbed her wrist to stop her.

She struggled halfheartedly. “We’ll get water everywhere.”

“Oh, no.” He traced his nose up the side of her neck. “Then everywhere might have to dry out. Besides, I’m impatient.” He steered her away from the shower and toward the bedroom. He’d be the first to sing the praises of mortality. It had been centuries since the world around him was so intensely vivid, and part of it was seeing things through Luci’s eyes. Everything felt and tasted and smelled more distinct now, as if a filter had been removed from his senses.

She hesitated at the foot of the bed, and he propelled her forward, urging her to lie on her back. He crawled toward her, visually drinking in every curve and nuance of her body as he moved. “They’re sheets. Water won’t kill them.” He kissed her navel and followed a path up her chest, until he claimed her mouth. She tasted like toothpaste and smelled of oranges and felt like satin sliding against him.

His fingers slid easily between her folds, and she groaned. The teasing in the shower had been fun, but his cock ached for attention. Especially after the way she’d ground her generous ass against him. He’d been tempted to bend her over then and there, and thrust inside her.

He wanted to see the expression on her face when she came. Another thing he didn’t think he’d ever get tired of. He rolled onto his back and tugged her on top of him.

She smirked and hovered inches from his dick. The heat of her pussy taunted him, warm and tempting and just out of reach. “If you can tease me, I can tease you.” Her velvet voice tickled his senses.

She reached between her legs and grabbed his shaft. A guttural groan tore from his chest. Her damp opening met the swollen purple head, and he thrust up with a grunt. “Ancestors, you’re tight.”

She rose up almost to the tip, then dropped down against him again. The slow build-up raised the friction between them. He wanted to memorize every touch. Every whimper that drifted from her throat. He gripped her thighs, digging in his fingers, and increased the speed. When she closed her eyes and leaned back, driving him deeper inside, he knew he’d hit the right spot.

“Fuck, Elskede.” He liked the way the endearment rolled off his tongue almost as much as he liked the way she squirmed when he licked her to orgasm. He drove one hand up her chest, pinched a nipple, and rolled it between his fingers. She gasped and pushed harder against him.

His balls tightened at the feeling of her squeezing him, but he wasn’t ready to come yet. He wanted to draw this out as long as possible. See the flush flood her body. Watch the tiny circles her full mouth formed as she drew close to climax.

He dug his fingers into her thigh, as their pace grew more frantic. Her lips parted, gasps blurring together. He found her clit, swollen and peeking from its hood, and drew tight circles around it.

She leaned back with a cry, and she raked his legs with her nails. Her gorgeous, full chest heaved when she came. Her pussy clenched around him, milking him. Breaking down his resistance. Ancestors, she was incredible. He couldn’t hold back any longer. He spilled inside her, hot and frantic, thrusting until he was spent.

They both struggled to catch their breath, as they slowed to a stop. She shuddered, smile never leaving her face, when he pulled out of her. He tugged her forward, so her head rested on his chest, and trailed his fingers up her spine.

“Are you going to miss eternity?” Her question was muffled by his chest.

He’d wondered when she was going to ask about that. So far, she’d danced around the issue, inquiring in the vaguest terms if he was all right but never mentioning it directly. As if she was terrified he might change his mind. “No. Even if I had a choice. If someone came to me right now and told me I could have godhood back, I’d tell them no.”

  “Are you sure?”

“The only other thing I’ve ever been as certain of is how much I love you.” He lifted her head so he could look her in the eye. “And if I can have you by my side for the rest of my life—no matter how short or long it is—that’s all I care about.”

She dropped her head back onto his chest, but not before he caught a glimpse of her smile. “I love you too.” Her words were distinct this time.

From here on out, he was happy to help his kin with their fate however he could, but he was never going
back to that life. This was his fate, and he couldn’t have asked for a better one.

Breaching His Defenses (Love Hack Book 1)

What happens in Vegas… Can break hearts and destroy careers.

Years ago, heartbreak corrupted Jared Tippins’s outlook on love. He spun the betrayal into a rapid climb up the corporate ladder, and swore off any relationship with a morning after. Luckily, the playful siren who rescues him from singing a duet alone in a karaoke bar doesn’t want anything long term. If only he could stop fantasizing about ways to make her moan. Sure, she could’ve mentioned he works for the competition. At least she’s not behind the security concerns that have plagued his company for almost six months.

If she were, he’d be screwed on a whole new level.

Mikki Elford is determined to have the fun she missed out on when she fast-tracked her way through college. But school had its upside, too. She’s qualified to legally hack corporate networks. Best job ever. She also gained an appreciation for the legends in computing — Gates, Jobs, and Tippins. When she meets Jared Tippins and realizes he’s sexy and fluent in programming languages older than she is, no consequence will dissuade her from an impromptu fling. Fortunately, he doesn’t mind that six months ago she compromised his network to land her job.

  Oh, crap! He doesn't know.

The #5Star Affair (Love Hashtagged Book 1)

Jaycie Wharry is one of gaming’s most infamous reviewers—under the intentionally vague pseudonym J-Dub. Most of her friends didn’t even know what she really did for a living. Then again, one in particular was missing a few solder points in his neural circuits, and she traded that life in as fast as she could when his infatuation with her translated into a threat to her safety. Her new roommate, Ethan, is just supposed to be a firewall against the past, but they’re heating up the wires faster than an X-box on a summer’s day.

Ethan's goals in life are simple—pay off his student loans before he's thirty, start his own gaming company, and keep the emotional attachments to a minimum so he can stay on task. Though, he's willing to make an exception on the last one for his new roommate. She holds her own in a first person shooter as well as she does in a debate, but still yields in the most delicious way behind closed doors. So what if she reviews the same kind of video games he writes? A little planning and there won't be any conflict of interest.

When one of Ethan’s friends leaks Jaycie’s reviewing identity to the entire internet, accusing her of sleeping with developers in exchange for her 5-star approval, both of their careers are threatened. Since slapping a gag-order on the internet to protect their jobs, privacy, and safety isn’t an option, Jaycie and Ethan will need to archive all their preconceived notions, or watch their future—with each other and in general—crash in an unrecoverable way.
