“Oh, and thank you two so much for stepping up. Honestly, without you guys and the club I wouldn’t have been able to stay with Natalie so much while she was in the hospital,” Grim says, but the man should know it wasn’t a big deal at all.
“The girls are all very pleasant. It wasn’t a nuisance at all, and I can speak for the both of us when I say I enjoyed it. I will say they trumped Axel and I a couple of times at Monopoly and LIFE.”
Natalie laughs, “They’re competitive little shites sometimes.”
My phone buzzes in my purse and I pick it up, scan at the name, and see Xavier’s written across it. He texted me a few days ago but since then he hasn’t said anything to me. Figuring it’s weird for him to be calling, I excuse myself and take the phone out to the hallway. “Hey, everything okay?”
I listen closely and hear nothing but silence, so I speak up again, “Hello?”
About ten more seconds pass before I pull the phone away. “Stay on the phone a bit longer, Rosita. I’ll be coming to fetch you soon.” Immediately I hit the red button and my heart beats so fast it’s practically flying out my chest.
That wasn’t Xavier’s voice, and I know who it was . . . Elias Hernandez, the only remaining son of the Bolivian cartel leader. Xavier told me about him roughly four weeks ago, even telling me he tracked down Marisole and spoke to her, how she’s living in Delaware and he made a weird remark about how the women of my family must love bikers. I didn’t ask what he meant, but he told me he gave her my phone number and he gave me hers, so we can keep in contact since we’re family.
I don’t realize I’ve zoned out until I feel my arm being shaken, or that I’m on the floor. I don’t know how it happened, almost like I fell after being terrified. Axel’s the one trying to get my attention, so I look up at him. “Sorry, what happened?”
“I should be asking you the same thing, you hit the floor like a bag of potatoes. Who called you?” Axel questions, looking down to the phone on the floor.
“I think it was Elias . . . I can’t be for certain, but it wasn’t Xavier . . . and it came from Xavier’s phone . . .”
“Did he say anything to you?” Axel questions, focusing in on my eyes.
I nod and remember every word very clearly.
Elias Hernandez is coming for me, and he’ll be here soon.
Dear Readers,
I hope you enjoyed Axel and Rosa’s book. It was a really interesting one to write. When I originally plotted this book, I never planned for her to be a Ramirez, but the longer I wrote it the more I realized what was missing.
Rosa and Axel’s story might be over, but I can see myself writing short stories about these two and all their craziness. I’m not sure if you noticed my easter eggs, but Marisole’s story will be ‘Wait on Me’, a Knights of Retribution MC novel, and Razor is right under your nose.
Hammer’s story picks up in May where he’s supposed to be leaving for Los Angeles, and while he will leave . . . it won’t be easy. He’s going to be facing drama from many different directions. If you scroll down you can pre-order Hammer, or you can click here.
Also, I’m not sure if you guys know yet but I’m writing Dex’s story with E.C. Land and it’ll be exclusively available in The Elites. His story is the first book in the Reapers MC: Second Generation, so you’re gonna want to download this bad boy. It’ll only be available for a limited time on Amazon and it’ll be May before you know it! Pre-order The Elites here.
Xoxo,
Liz
