Her hands trembled slightly as she dampened the sterile wipe with a solution and handed it to me. “You’re going to need more than one,” she said, pulling another two from the packet.
“You saying my cock is big?”
Her eyes widened. “Um . . . yeah.” Her cheeks turned red and she licked over her lips again. At another time, I would’ve given her a taste of my cock with pleasure. But my cock belonged to one woman only.
“Bones,” I said, relieved as he walked in moments later. “I’m ready, man.”
“Yeah, I can see.” He spanked Roxy’s ass. “Time for you to go home, babe. I’ll be a while before I get there.”
“Oh, okay. Goodnight fellas,” she said, disappointment on her face.
Bones practically shoved her out the door. “You’re such a fucking show-off, Malone,” he chided. “If you hadn’t told me you had your own woman, I’d have to hurt you.”
My hands covered my dick. Sheesh. Thank fuck I’d told him about Lexi and he believed me.
“Okay, let’s start the magic.” He gestured to the chair, one similar to that of a dentist’s. I shuddered as I tried to get comfortable.
Bones went to town, first doing my neck and head. Over three hours later and I needed a smoke and a long break. It was fucking agony sitting still and my neck and shoulders ached. I rubbed at it, my second cigarette dangling from my lips as I dialled Lexi’s number.
It was just before nine PM and I wanted to let Lexi know I’d be late and that I was looking forward to finding her naked in my bed when I got back. She told me she was with Mia and the kids watching Disney movies because they all needed some cheering up. I was okay with it until she got to the part saying that she might be spending the night there.
Next was my cock.
Bones hadn’t been kidding about the pain. I grinned and took it all just so I could see the look on Lexi’s face when she realized what I’d done. It did occur to me that if things didn’t work out with her, I was pretty much screwed for life having her name immortalized on my dick.
When he finished, I staggered out of the shop, vowing never to have two tats done on the same day again. My skin was on fire. The pain had been fucking unbearable, but the results were spectacular. I fucking loved his work and I couldn’t wait to show Lexi.
I needed a good night’s rest. Drained and exhausted, I’d crawled into bed, naked as usual, thinking I was going to fall asleep almost immediately. I didn’t. My body ached for Lexi and I missed the feel of her soft sexy body against mine.
Ahhh, Lexi. Why did the thought of her make my insides ache with longing? I’d never needed another human being to be whole, but I needed Lexi just to fucking breathe.
Lexi was a bad habit I couldn’t break. I rolled around in the bed, pulling the covers this way and that until they were a tangled mess. I had two minds to go to Mia’s room and demand Lexi come back to our bed where she belonged.
My thoughts were interrupted by my phone beeping. I cracked open an eyelid and checked the time. It was ten past midnight.
Who the fuck called at this time of night?
Lexi?
It couldn’t be Wolf. It was too soon. But then again, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was him. Money talked.
I sat up and grabbed my phone.
Jason.
Who the fuck was Jason?
I ignored the call. I didn’t want to talk to anyone except Lexi. Even Wolf could wait till morning.
Two minutes later and it rang again.
What the fuck? This better be Lexi or I’m losing my shit.
No. Same prick. He must’ve had a wrong fucking number but I didn’t have the energy to tell him. I let it ring out.
Pushing my face into the empty cushion next to me, I inhaled deeply. It smelled of Lexi and of sex. I groaned as my cock stiffened. How the fuck was I meant to sleep with a hard dick?
Agony swept through my groin like a hot fire. I closed my eyes and let my agitated mind drift. Fuck, I wanted Lexi’s hands cupping my balls, her lips wrapped around my tip, sucking and licking my dick until I came in her pretty little mouth.
Just as I relaxed into it, the phone rang again.
Some little fucker was going to pay for this. I let go of my fantasy and my cock and grabbed the phone, hitting the green button.
“Are you a fucking moron, Jason?” I growled. “You’ve got the wrong fucking number.”
“Razor? Fuck, you gotta listen to me.” The voice sounded strained. How did Jason know my name?
I bolted upright, my cock shrivelling in an instant.
“What’s going on? This better be fucking good.”
The reply came rapid fire. “It’s not good. It’s bad. Fucking bad.”
“You’re not making any sense. Who are you and what are you talking about?”
“It’s Jason, security from the club downtown. Lexi and a friend—”
“Lexi?” I roared. “What about Lexi?” My insides turned cold. This couldn’t be right.
“Um . . . they’re locked up in the ladies bathroom with a dude. He’s threatening to hurt them.”
It had to be a mistake. Lexi was with Mia and the kids. That’s what she’d told me. Jason must be on drugs. He was going to fucking suffer for making prank calls and putting the shit up me.
“Slow the fuck down. Lexi is at the club? Who’s the other woman she’s with? And who the fuck is the dude you’re talking about?”
Jason drew in a long breath as I held mine. My ears were ringing as I held the phone closer.
He cleared his throat. “I was meant to meet up with Lexi when my shift ended at midnight. I couldn’t find her or her friend anywhere, so I went looking for them. There was a long line at the ladies room and a chick told me there was someone in there crying. I cleared all the women away and just as I went to knock on the door, a note slipped through under the door.” Jason fell silent for a moment, pulling in a few short sharp breaths as if he’d run a few miles.
“Fuck. What then?” I yelled, needing to know.
“It was a note. All it said, written in red lipstick, was HELP and the initial L.”
I jumped out of bed and paced the room.
This better be a fucking prank.
“So you think Lexi and her friend are in there with a dude?” My hand curled around the back of my neck and squeezed the tight muscles.
“Yeah. When I asked, a chick had seen them go into the bathroom together ahead of her. She described the women inside. It’s Lexi and her friend.”
Oh, Lexi, why the fuck would you do something like that?
It didn’t make any fucking sense. A blinding pain shot through my brain.
“Do you know who the friend is?”
“I think her name is Maya . . . no, it’s Mia. Fuck, I’m not sure. I only heard Lexi talk to her as they went into the club a few hours earlier.”
Mia? Not fucking possible.
Lexi was a rebel and I could see her going to the club, but Mia would never do something like that. Anyway, how the hell had they gotten out of the fucking compound without being noticed?
Hammer and Logan had some explaining to do. And Lexi? She wasn’t going to sit for a month after I got hold of my bitch. As for Mia—Jason had to be mistaken, or else there was another Mia in town I didn’t know.
Using only one hand, I awkwardly stepped into my jeans, nearly losing my balance and falling over. First things first. I had to get to Mia’s room and check out the facts. If I found the girls curled up in the bed fast asleep, Jason was going to be one sorry asshole.
“Jason, listen the fuck up. I’m going to hang up and then verify that it’s my Lexi we’re talking about here. In the meantime, get the rest of security on this.” I sucked in a breath. Rage radiated from every pore in my body. “If it’s Lexi and one fucking hair on her head is hurt, I’m holding you personally responsible. You got that?”
Jason had a coughing fit. “Ye . . . Yeah.”
I disconnected the call and plucked the d
oor open, running down the hallway to Mia’s room.
I’d never been a praying man, but things change. All the way down the never-ending fucking narrow path to Mia’s door, I kept feverishly shooting one prayer up after the other.
19 — Razor
Ox rubbed his eyes as we pulled up outside the club Jason had called from. I’d stormed a few doors down from my bedroom and yanked a dead-to-the-world Ox out of bed, only allowing him a few minutes to get dressed while telling him what had happened. He’d frowned and groaned while listening, shaking his head in disbelief a few times. Not long after, we saddled our bikes.
“Gotta get there fast,” Ox said in a gruff voice. “Something smells off and I don’t like it.” He pulled away as if ten devils were chasing him. I kicked my bike to life and set off after him. We broke every road rule and speed limit, our bikes roaring into the night.
I pulled up at the curb in front of the Santa Monica club and Ox parked right beside me. Ox was the only man I knew who wore sunglasses at night. Bright lights weren’t for him. Or so he claimed. Personally I thought it was more that he didn’t want anyone to read his eyes. There was something hidden there beneath their depths I’d noticed from the first time I’d met him as a kid, but he never spoke about it.
For the millionth time, I wondered fleetingly what Ox’s secret was. All I did know, was that I’d hate to cross the enormous man and get on his wrong side. He could crush any dude, including me, with one hand if he wanted too.
“What now?” The frown between Ox’s brows had knitted deeper. He turned his head sideways and studied my new ink. “Nice,” was all he said.
I accepted his compliment with a nod, the tattooing long forgotten.
If he were anywhere near as distressed as I was, it would be a fucking bad idea for somebody to confront us.
“We go in and find them.” I didn’t have a better plan. Neither did I have the patience to play cat-and-mouse games with anyone, including Lexi.
Both Ox and I wore our rage on our faces. We ran up the stairs, two at a time, to the entrance. The guard on duty lifted his chin in recognition. He gave our don’t-fuck-with-me expressions one look and opened the door without question.
“Razor, Jason told me you were on your way. Go to the left and then to the back for the ladies bathroom. Jason’s waiting there.”
I glanced at my watch. It was twenty seven minutes from the time I’d first received Jason’s call. What the fuck had been going on inside there while we were on our bikes? My heart pounded against my ribs. Adrenaline spiked my bloodstream and I had to crack my neck a few times to ease the tension.
The big man beside me was having trouble keeping still. His fists opened and closed and his eyes narrowed while we adjusted to the dim light inside. People automatically jumped out of his way as he stampeded to the back, his gigantic body inviting no arguments.
He swung his arms around as we approached the bathroom. The crowd of women waiting outside scattered as he growled and shooed them away with wild hand gestures.
Once we found Jason and he pointed us to the unisex bathroom, we stood outside the door and listened for a few moments. The whimpering sounds of a woman made my ears prickle and the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I wiped a damp hand over my sweaty face. Was the fucking air conditioner even working in this place?
What the fuck was going on in there? If we kicked the door in and he panicked, he could hurt one or both of the women. We had to be smart about this. I had to keep cool and calm and think rationally, which was nearly impossible. Fuck if I didn’t want to tear the door down and smash the asshole to a pulp and then slit his fucking throat.
Stay calm.
Take a few deep breaths.
Stay the fuck calm . . .
I can do this. I can.
Gritting my teeth, I repeated the words over and over in my mind, taking deep breaths to steady my heartbeat.
This could be life and death. One person wasn’t going to walk out of there alive.
The fucker has to pay. I wanted to see the look in his eyes as they faded to black. Vengeance would be mine and it would be fucking sweet.
But first Lexi and Mia. I had to get them to safety.
Grabbing hold of his arm, I pulled Jason a few yards away.
“Do you know if there is easy access into the rooftop?”
“The rooftop?” Jason repeated, his eyes wide.
“Yeah. I need to drop into that bathroom unexpectedly. If I go through the door, things might not work out well.”
Admiration beamed from his eyes. “Shit, why didn’t I think of that? Yeah, there is a stairwell up to the rooftop. The slate tiles shouldn’t be too difficult to lift.”
“Get me up there.”
I quickly spoke to Ox and formulated a plan. I’d signal him once I was inside so he could burst through the door and get the women out.
“Zero chance to fuck up, Ox,” I said as I slapped a hand on his back before turning to follow Jason.
Ox grimaced and simply nodded. He knew the odds were against us, but at least we’d have the element of surprise. Whatever that prick was doing in there, he’d be heavily armed and that scared the shit out of me. If he got trigger happy, one or both of the women could end up being shot. I couldn’t let that happen. Not on my fucking watch.
*****
With shaking hands, I lifted tiles from the roof. Once I’d cleared enough so I could fit through, I lowered myself into the ceiling. Thank fuck for all the bench presses I did every day.
I only had one chance to get this right.
Fucking up is not an option.
I found the trap door and slowly lifted it, an inch at a time until I could fit my face into the opening to see what was going on beneath me.
All the oxygen sucked out of my lungs.
Lexi’s tear stained face stared up at me, her skin pale and her eyes round. I motioned for her to be quiet by placing a finger on my lips. She nodded slightly, blinking fast a few times.
Don’t cry, baby! Don’t cry!
She had to stop staring at me. I shook my head and hoped she’d understand. Again she nodded slightly and dropped her head to her chest, letting her hair cover her face.
I tore my gaze away from her to search for Mia. Shock reverberated through my body when I found what I was looking for. She lay on the floor, her arms tied at the back with a strip of fabric torn off her own dress.
Mia’s face was bruised and swollen. Her lower lip seemed ready to burst and blood trickled from the side of her mouth. Her head lolled to the side and she seemed barely conscious.
Towering over her was a dude I recognized instantly. His jeans were around his ankles and his dick in his hand.
“Cobra’s gonna love this when he finds out I fucked his bitch before killing her,” he cackled. He leaned over and cut through Mia’s underwear with a knife, nicking her olive skin so that a stream of red ran down her hip, then ripped it from her body. He held the fabric to his nose and inhaled deeply while he crowed.
Fury nearly made me blind. I sucked in a breath and positioned myself to pounce.
Tugging his cock, he took a step toward Mia, and kicked her legs open. She remained lifeless, not even moaning or trying to move or escape. Was she breathing? Fuck, I had no idea if she was even alive.
He turned his head to Lexi and grinned. “Then it’s your turn, sweetheart. But I’m gonna take my time with you once this bitch is bleeding.”
Over my dead fucking body. None of that shit was happening today.
Adrenaline spiked my bloodstream. I was ready for action. Ready to kill the motherfucker with my bare fucking hands.
My knees shook as I hit the tiles, feet first. I rolled on the floor, hurdling my body toward the unsuspecting man who stood with his back to me, and pounced, knocking the fucker off his feet. Pulling myself up over him, I had him in my grip before he knew what hit him.
With my bicep around his neck, I held him in a strangle hold. His arms flailed around and
he tried to kick me off him, but all he managed to do was fuel my anger. Pressing down on his windpipe, I watched with satisfaction as he choked and spluttered.
End this miserable fuck’s life for everything he’s done to my family.
My thumbs pressed harder until his eyes bulged out of his head. Froth leaked from the sides of his mouth.
Die, motherfucker.
I wanted to see the life fade from his eyes, but he’d screwed them shut. Tightening both hands around his neck, I shook him violently. “Open your fucking eyes,” I demanded. He didn’t respond. My rage escalated and I shook again, determined to see his eyes go dull.
“Razor.” Lexi’s voice droned through a tunnel to my consciousness, distorted. It took a few seconds to remember where I was. I turned my head to glance in her direction, jerked out of my trance.
Too late I saw the terror warning me in her wide eyes. Her mouth dropped open as footsteps fell to the left of me.
A million stars burst before my eyes. My skull cracked open and I sank to the floor like a sack of potatoes. The sound died on my lips before I could cry out.
As the blackness stole me away, one final thought reverberated through me, causing more pain than the blow I’d just been dealt.
I’ve failed again. I’m a fucking loser.

Cold water splashed my face and drenched my clothes. With a gasp I tried to sit up, but I couldn’t. I’d been tied up and was lying on my side, facing the wall. A heavy boot connected with my stomach.
“You fucking asshole. Trying to be a fucking hero, huh?” The voice mocked me, the thick Irish accent nearly impossible to decipher.
I groaned and curled inward. The boot came again, harder this time, accompanied by a deep rumbling laughter.
“Take that, asshole” the Irish voice taunted. “Biker scum.”
Who the fuck was kicking the shit out of me? I was only aware of one man in there and he lay sprawled on the floor.
Could it be—
It dawned on me. The fucking Irish is here. In this small space. The man I was looking for. Was it possible?
