She backed away and joined the circle. The group, who I assumed to be fairies, began chanting as the dark haired woman threw the other dust into the air. The yellow dust glowed as it swarmed through the rain. It roamed around for several moments as if it was searching where to go. Finally, the yellow dust swam its way to the blue dust. When the yellow and blue dust met, there was a loud explosion and burst of light. I jumped in the air and gasped at the sound.
Suddenly a large green glowing circle began forming where the blue and yellow dust collided. The circle began to grow as the fairies chanted louder and louder. The circle grew larger as it slowly sunk down until it was touching the earth. It made a loud whooshing noise as it grew. The circle seemed to turn three-dimensional as it sat on the ground.
The circle of fairies let their hands loose and the dark haired one yelled, “Let’s go!”
My heart was racing in fear of what was about to happen. My aunt Allison was shaking, trying to get free, as the blond man began to drag her towards the circle. The fairies were already jumping through it, disappearing one-by-one. As the blond man dragged Allison, the rest of our line pulled forward. The men were now pushing us all towards the circle. No matter how hard we resisted, they kept dragging us closer.
At last, the blond man held my aunt at the very edge of the circle. She tried to resist, but he was too strong. The blond pushed her through. Her scream was heard for only a moment before the green light consumed her body. I cried out in fear.
Roger was next; he tried to resist but he was very weak from his injury and Allison’s body was pulling him through. With one swift push the blond tossed Roger through. Sean stood in front of me, and inching closer to the edge of the circle. He wasn’t strong enough to hold on.
“Hurry up before it closes!” one of the large men yelled.
Two of the men pushed Sean through. The weight of the three in front of me dragged me right to the edge. I tried to resist but I was immediately pulled though. I screamed for only a second before the green light engulfed my body.
The moment I entered the circle, it felt like my entire body was being torn apart. I couldn’t see anything and my head was pounding. It only took a second and my body slammed into the ground. I was still attached Sean who was on the ground next to me. There were several fairies and creatures surrounding us on the ground. They were beginning to stand up. Moments after I fell through, Laura and Melody flew through at the same time. They slammed into the ground next to me as Ben was hurled to the ground. The last of the large men flew through behind Ben as they hit the ground. Moments later, the circle was gone
Several of the fairies left the room, leaving behind only a few of the large individuals and the tiny dark haired fairy that had created the circle. I looked around and wondered where we were.
I was lightheaded and dizzy after traveling through the circle and crashing on the cold hard floor. I assumed the glowing circle was a portal. As I lay on the very cold marble ground, my bones and muscles ached. I was soaking wet and covered in mud. I shivered as I observed my surroundings. There were large white pillars all around leading to the very tall ceiling above. The ceiling was extremely high and painted with a variety of murals. Most of the paintings were of clouds and angelic like creatures flying through the air. Like the floor, the walls were made from solid marble with several large paintings throughout.
There were several large windows throughout the room, stretching from the floor to right below the ceiling. I could see that it was daylight outside and snowing. Snow covered mountains overwhelmed the landscape from my view. It looked as if we were in a snow-covered heaven. I looked at Ben and others to see that they were all disoriented and confused.
Finally, the dark haired fairy began to speak, “My name is Emerlee. We will untie you, but do know there is absolutely no escape and nowhere for you to go. We have guards everywhere, and if you try to revolt, they will lock you in the rat-infested dungeon. If you manage to escape, there is nothing but snow-covered mountains for hundreds of miles. If you are lucky, you will be eaten by a snow beast before you freeze or starve.”
The large men began removing our gags and cutting us loose as the Emerlee continued. “We will treat you as guests as long as you cooperate and show no aggression. I do apologize for your treatment on Earth, but we couldn’t risk your escape. As I said, one try at revolt and you will be locked in the dungeon with the rats. I will show you to your rooms and you may join us for dinner in two hours. Please clean up and make yourself comfortable.”
I was beyond words and so confused, so I spoke out, “Where are we?”
Emerlee smiled and laughed, “Well my dear, welcome to Sidhe Realm.”
Chapter 9
“The what?” I cried
Emerlee giggled, “Sidhe Realm, you can just call it Sidhe.”
“But what country is this? When we left it was night...now it is day?”
She laughed again, “Oh my dear, your town must not have taught you much. Sidhe...this is isn’t another country, it’s another world.”
When she finished her sentence, it felt as if my heart stopped beating and the world began to spin around me. My entire life I had been exposed to magic and the supernatural, but this was unreal.
Emerlee continued to speak, “I will show you to your rooms. Make yourself at home. You will meet the Queen at dinner and she will explain more.”
While Emerlee was speaking, I moved close to Ben. I was terrified that we had been taken, but I was glad I was with Ben. I was covered in mud, but he wrapped his arm around me, holding me tight. I shivered in his damp embrace, but his touch gave me hope.
I didn’t know what to expect from the realm, but I was terrified of the large creatures that lurked about. Vampires were much more powerful than superhumans, yet these creatures were stronger than Ben. Not only were they strong, but there were so many of them. More than we could ever over power.
Once we were all untied and ungagged, Emerlee began walking and said, “Follow me.”
Our group obediently followed her in fear of what happened if we didn’t obey. She led us down a few hallways; they were just as exuberant as the room we had been dropped into. There were mini crystal and gold chandeliers hanging periodically down the halls. The crystal chandeliers dazzled in the light, sending refractions dancing down the walls. The halls were carpeted in the color of blood with specks of gold sparkling in every direction. The walls and ceilings were cream with lush gold leaf designs. Down the halls, there were several doors and archways. Each door looked like it was made from very heavy solid wood. The decor was unique and luxurious like nothing I had ever seen before.
Walking down each hall was like walking through a maze. Each hall had the same coloring and décor as the next. Even if I was let out, I wasn’t sure how I could even find an exit.
As we walked on, Emerlee led us down one final hall and slowed down before announcing, “This is where your quarters lie.” She opened one of the solid doors on the left and looked at Melody, “Your room.”
Melody wasn’t sure what to do, so I nodded and Melody entered the room.
Emerlee reminded us once more, “I will gather you for dinner in about two hours.” She continued, “I will send a servant with clothes to your room soon. Please bathe and prepare yourself for dinner.”
Emerlee continued down the hall. The next room on right, she assigned to Sean. She continued down the hall stopping at each door and assigning a room to each one of us. There were only three of us left, my aunt, Ben and I. The next room she assigned to Ben, before assigning me the room across the hall. I felt lucky to be so close by.
I entered the room and was amazed by its magnificence. The room was nicer than any room in the mansion back on Earth. The large king size canopy bed was the centerpiece of the room. It was made from stunning dark wood, similar to the doors. Each bedpost had carvings in two tones of solid wood. Like the paintings in the room we were dropped in, the carvings were angelic like creatures with wings,
surrounded by fluffy clouds. There was an occasional demented creature lurking about, which looked to be evil. The bed was truly a work of art, but very oddly styled.
The other furniture in the room was massive and matched the bed. It was also made from two tones of wood with haunting angelic and demon designs. Like the halls, the room had blood colored carpet and cream walls. The ceiling was plated gold, with a patterns engraved throughout. Everything in the room was blood colored, with accents of cream and gold. The decor was alluring and haunting all at the same time. It was all very odd.
The bedroom had a bathroom that was just as luxurious as the King and Queen’s bathroom at the mansion. It had sparkling white marble floors, an enormous clawfoot tub, and stairs that led to a giant walk-in shower. Burgundy towels were available everywhere and matched the blood colored theme. There was a small gold and crystal chandelier above the tub with an angelic mural painted around it. Just like the furniture, the mural had an occasional demon like creature lurking about. I had absolutely no idea where we were, but whatever this place was, it impressed and scared me equally.
After touring my room, I wondered what I would do until dinner. I opened drawers, but most were empty. One drawer had a few books, but there was no television on the wall. The room had no computer or phone. It seemed as if technology was not available on this world. As I grew bored, I decided to see if our doors were locked. I turned the doorknob and to my surprise, it opened. I opened the door and peeked around. Not a soul was in sight. I checked to ensure the door would not lock behind me and I creeped across the hall to Ben’s room.
I knocked on Ben’s door and waited briefly. After a few moments, he slowly opened the door and peeped his head out. When he saw it was I, he smiled and opened the door. When I stepped inside, I saw that he was only wearing a towel. His body looked damp and sparkled in the light as I smelled the fresh scent of soap from his body. I couldn’t help but stare at his bare chest for a few moments; it was very muscular and attractive.
“I’m sorry, I was just in the shower. I don’t have any clothes yet,” he said. “Do you know anything more?”
“No, I have no idea what is going on,” I answered. “No one is guarding us though. I walked right out of my room.”
“How strange,” he cried.
I took a moment to look around his room. Although the furniture and decor was not the same as mine, the theme was very similar. The carpet was burgundy and dazzling gold. Angelic creatures and demons prowled about the room, appearing on the furniture and paintings on the wall. It was all very strange.
“I don’t know what to do,” I cried. “I wonder what happened to everyone back home. When they took us, it seemed as if the rest of the town vanished...and why would they take the seven of us? What is our significance?”
“Maybe, it’s coincidence. Maybe they just found us first.”
“I just don’t understand it. They only hurt us if we try to fight or escape. Since we arrived, they have treated us well, and our rooms are...are insane. This place is nicer than the mansion.”
“All I know is I am glad we’re together. I don’t know what I would do if I lost you,” Ben said.
“But Ben, what about my dad? And Jewl, Loxes...what about the rest of town?”
“I know. I am worried about them as well. Let’s just go with things and see how dinner goes. After dinner we can talk again and try to go from there. It is best we don’t try anything until we figure out what is going on.”
As soon as Ben finished speaking, there was a knock on the door. Ben placed his finger over his mouth to shush me, then walked to the door. I stood back and listened. Someone was giving Ben clothes. Ben returned with a large suitcase. He opened it up and several items were stored inside.
The suitcase was filled with clothes and several essentials such as toothpaste and a hairbrush. Ben’s suitcase had a small variety of clothing in a few different sizes. The clothing was quite eccentric; hot pink pants, a lime green button down shirt, gold ties and strange shiny dress shoes. Some of the clothes even went along with the decor theme; the bag included metallic gold shirts and blood red pants.
Ben scrunched his face as he went through the bag, trying to find something decent to wear. Ben selected the skintight blood red pants and a black button down sweater. He put on socks and a shiny black pair of shoes. I laughed as I wasn’t used to Ben dressed in this style. Ben typically dressed conservatively. He was a jeans and tee-shirt type of guy.
Ben laughed and said, “Let’s go find you a matching outfit.” He tickled my side and I laughed.
We walked across the hall. There was a suitcase sitting outside my door. Ben picked it up and carried it into my room. We opened it up and found similar style items, except all lascivious dresses. Most of the dresses were made of thin, transparent fabric. I would never consider wearing anything in the bag, except my current outfit was covered in mud.
As I held them up, I felt as if I was selecting an outfit for a prostitute. One dress had a hot pink bra like top that would only cover my breasts. The bottom was similar to a thong, which would expose my bottom. It had a very thin piece of lime green fabric attached to the back for minimum coverage.
I pulled out several similar dresses, scrunching my face at each one. They were all extremely exposing. As I held them up, I thought of my father’s reaction if he saw me wearing any of these. I selected the most conservative dress of the bunch. It was a dark one-piece dress; it was sleeveless and the neckline scooped all the way down to my belly button, exposing the middle of my breasts and stomach. The dress was floor length, but had a slit on each side reaching my hip.
I took a quick shower to wash away the mud, while Ben waited for me in the bedroom. When I was finished showering, I brushed my hair and covered myself with a large burgundy towel. I stepped out of the bathroom to put on the vulgar dress. As soon as Ben saw me in the towel, he immediately was by my side. He pulled my chin towards him and kissed me passionately. I kissed him back, but told him I needed to get ready.
I carried the suitcase to the bathroom and found everything I needed inside, a brush, makeup, a hair dryer, even perfume. There was glitter spray in the suitcase, so I sprayed some on my finish hair. I did my best to look nice. I had no idea what these crazy creature’s standards were, but I didn’t want to upset them.
Once I was ready, I stepped out of the bathroom. Ben looked dazzled by my sight, and roused by my attire. I could feel my cheeks grow warm as Ben looked me up and down, drinking me completely in. Although Ben’s outfit was ridiculous, he looked extremely attractive. As the two of us looked in the mirror, we were a sight to see.
Not long after I had finished preparing myself, there was a knock at the door. Emerlee was standing outside; she was looking just as unconventional as myself. Everyone but Allison was standing outside of our room. The others were wearing bright colored, odd and provocative outfits. Melody’s dress was short and strapless, made completely from feathers. Sean had on a skintight orange suit with a royal blue shirt underneath. Like his shirt, his shoes were bright royal blue. Roger was wearing burgundy dress pants with a fluffy white sweater and Laura had on a skintight metallic red pants and a matching top that only covered her breasts.
Emerlee smiled and said, “Ready for dinner.” The two of us nodded our heads and left our room.
We joined the rest of the group as we headed towards my aunt’s room. When my aunt came to the door, her attire was just as odd as the rest. She was wearing a baby blue floor length dress that was skintight and showed a tremendous amount of cleavage. It was so tight; she had trouble walking.
Everything about Sidhe was so peculiar. The luxury was unreal, but the décor was so odd. There was a strange theme of angels and demos, and the color of blood was everywhere. The outfits were so strange and provocative; I grew worried about the dinner we would soon be attending.
Once our group had been gathered, Emerlee led us to the end of the hall. At the end of the hall, she stopped in front of wh
at looked like an elevator. She pressed a button and we heard “ding!” Emerlee stepped into the elevator, the rest of us followed. The elevator looked normal, except instead of floor buttons the buttons had several rooms and halls listed.
Emerlee looked around to all of us and said, “Hold on.” she stepped back and grabbed the rail. She reached forward and selected a button. Everyone else quickly reached back and grabbed the rail. There was another quick ding and the elevator cab took off. This elevator was much faster than any elevator I had ever been on. Not just that, it moved horizontally. Only seconds after it moved to the side, it slowed down before coming to a stop. It began to move once more, this time a bit slower as it moved upwards.
It only moved upwards for a moment before it stopped once more. There was one more ding and the doors opened. As we piled out of the room, we entered into a massive dining room. The dining room was just as luxurious and strange as the rest of the house.
The dining room walls were dark burgundy and the floors were white marble. There was a giant gold and crystal chandelier in the center of the large black table. The table very ornate and large; it looked as if it could seat at least twenty people.
The chandelier lights were generously dimmed and the room was lit with an eerie glow. The only other lighting in the room came from several candelabras flowing down the table, and the large fireplace in the front of the room. The dining room was just as strange and eerie as the rest of the structure we were in.
As we all entered the room, Emerlee spoke, “Please have a seat anywhere with a place setting, except the head of the table. The Queen will be here soon.”
We all looked around at one another before taking our seats. I took a seat next to my aunt and Ben. Emerlee took a seat next to Sean, and the others sat nearby. We all sat quietly for several moments, some of us talking amongst ourselves. Soon two small men entered the room with a bottle of what looked like wine and a pitcher of water. They poured us each a glass of wine and water. As they walked by, I realized I was starving.
