I couldn’t have picked a better song. It’s what I want. Right now. I don’t know what it is about her today, maybe it’s the wedding dress, but I’ve been hard more times than I can count. Her smell is different and it’s making me want to ravage her. As I sing, I watch her morph from her flustered self into her confident, sexy self. She licks her lips and then bites her bottom one, flashing her “come fuck me” look. At least, that is what I’m imagining she’s saying.
Baby, I’m coming.
I look over at the lead singer of the band and nod. I’m done looking at my wife. I need to feel her. I hop off the stage and the lead singer takes over where I left off. I grab Addison off her chair and move to the dance floor with her.
“Your foot okay for one last dance?”
“By the sound of your song, this is definitely not the last dance of the night.” The heat in her eyes shoots right to my dick, lighting it up. I pull her in closer.
“It’s the last one you’re going to be dressed for,” I say, leaning down and kissing her neck. She tilts her head, giving me better access to her silky smooth skin. A moan slips from her throat, vibrating against my lips. Fuck, I want her.
Our bodies move in sync to the beat of the song. “I liked it when you were singing,” she whispers.
“I like it better when you’re in my arms.”
“How about you sing to me while I’m in your arms?”
She doesn’t have to ask me twice. I will do anything for this woman.
When the song ends, I pick her up, swinging my arm under her knees, and carry her off the dance floor. It’s time to go.
We thank everyone for coming and say our goodbyes. I stuff Addison and her dress inside the limo and crawl in behind her. “You could have let me take off my dress,” she giggles, trying to push it over enough for me to sit by her.
“No.” I shake my head. “I want to be the one to take off your dress.” I lift her hand to my lips, kissing her palm. “And it’ll be a good deterrent until we get home.”
She cocks her head to the side, the line in her forehead creasing. “Home?” I nod. “We’re going back to New York City tonight?”
“Yes.” I chuckle as her eyes widen.
“Couldn’t we have stayed at a hotel close by?” she asks, trying to turn her body toward me. She pushes up and twists her dress with her as she sits facing me.
“No.” Her shoulders slump when I don’t explain.
She scoffs and hits me in the shoulder. “You sound like Max.” I bark out a laugh. “I can’t believe you’re going to make me wear this dress for two hours in a car.”
“We’re taking Max’s jet,” I say, wrapping my hand around her neck and bringing her lips to mine. I kiss the corner of her lips and work my way to the center. Her mouth opens for me and I can’t help but crush my lips onto hers. One taste and I can’t control myself. Which is why she’s wearing her dress. I knew I’d never make it home without tasting her everywhere and our home is the first place that I want to make love to my wife.
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to keep my hands to myself, but I have kept my dick in my pants. This only frustrated Addison more and more by the minute. She was so mad, she shooed me away on the plane and took a nap. She looked exhausted, so I let her sleep. She’s going to need her energy for tonight anyway.
The town car pulls up to my apartment building, and Addison’s eyes light up. “Finally,” she says, running her hand in between my legs. I grasp her hand. My dick has been on the starting line, waiting for the go signal, all day long. I’m not going to be able to hold back much longer, especially if she’s touching my dick.
“Someone’s anxious,” I say, flashing a wicked smile.
“You sing a song to me about slow hands and taking me home, get me all hot and bothered, and then tell me we have to wait an hour.” She throws her arms out. “Yes! I’m anxious.”
I hum. “I love getting you hot and bothered.” I stare into her eyes.
She cups my jaw lovingly and then grabs my cheeks. Hard. “Then get out of the car,” she demands. I throw my head back, laughing.
I open the door and help her and her dress out. I swoop her up into my arms, and she squeals, holding onto my neck. The bellman comes behind me and grabs our bags. The doors are opened for us when we walk in, and we’re greeted by security.
“Good evening, Agent Roberts and Mrs. Roberts. Congratulations.” My smile stretches across my face hearing those words. Mrs. Roberts. When we get on the elevator, I press the button for the eighth floor and put Addison down. She cocks her eyebrow up.
“As much as I love that terrace, Agent Roberts, unless you plan on sticking your cock inside me out in the open, now is not a good time.” I chuckle at the seriousness in her words.
“I just need to show you something really quick.” I wink at her.
The elevator rises and with each floor, my nerves start to get the best of me. Addison hates surprises and this is a really big one. I close my eyes and take a calming breath. When I open them, the elevator dings. We’re home.
“Aiden, you okay?” Addison stares up at me.
I stand taller and crack my neck. “Yes.” I swallow once and lead her to the foyer. “We’re not up here to go out onto the terrace.” Her eyes dart around as she looks confused.
Just do it, Roberts.
I grab her hand and pull her to the front door. Our front door. When I unlock it and open the door, I glance back at her and smile before pulling her in behind me. I watch her reaction as she takes everything in.
“That looks like…” she says, pointing to her couch but stopping herself, and looks around again. “Is that my…” She stops, taking in her kitchen table. “I’m so confused, Aiden. This looks like all my stuff.” She spins around to me.
My smile grows. “That’s because it is.”
Chapter thirty
I can feel him behind me, watching me stare out the window.
“Do you like it?”
I slowly turn. The swoosh of my dress is the only thing I hear. “What is there not to like?” I reply. I reach down and pick my dress up so I don’t trip and saunter toward him. “Aiden, this place is remarkable. I can’t believe it’s ours. I can’t believe you did all this.” I chuckle when his brows shoot up. “I shouldn’t be surprised. This is just…wow,” I say, looking around. “Didn’t Mack live here?”
“He did,” he replies. “He’s always offered to rent out this place to me since he’s never here and I watch over it anyway. He offered it to me again when he found out we were getting married. We don’t have to stay here if we don’t want to. I only signed a year lease. We can sell our apartments and then decide what we want to do.”
I look at everything. It’s weird seeing my furniture in here. I can’t believe they moved everything today. Aiden walks me from room to room. When we get to Lexi’s, my hand goes over my heart. He made it just like the one at my place. Even her corner with pictures of her parents and brother. “It’s perfect.”
His arms wrap around my waist, linking his fingers at my stomach. I look down and slide my hands on top of his. Baby, this is your daddy. It’s time to tell him.
“Aiden–”
“Wait, there’s more,” he says, stopping me and pulling me back to the living room. He walks me to a set of sliding glass doors. The darkness makes it look like nothing is out there. Aiden holds up a finger and runs to grab a remote. The boyish grin on his face warms my heart. He’s so excited about this place. When he presses a button, lights brighten the other side of the glass doors.
I gasp. “Is that the terrace?” He nods and unlocks the door, sliding it over. We walk onto the same terrace we were on months ago, just through a different door. Nothing has changed out here. It’s the same furniture and decorations. The only thing that’s changed is it’s ours now.
I squeal and jump into Aiden’s arms. “I love it!”
“I’m so relieved to hear that.”
I pull my head back. “Did y
ou think I wouldn’t?”
He shrugs. “I was hoping you would.”
“Everything about today has been amazing.” I shake my head in disbelief. Nothing went wrong. “It’s been unbelievably perfect.” Aiden walks inside and I follow, closing the door behind me. We are definitely having some parties up here, I say to myself, looking back outside as I lock the door.
“Well, at least no one showed up saying I was the father of their child,” he says, sarcastically.
My eyes go wide and I bust out laughing, unable to control the giggles coming out of my mouth. I anchor myself on a table with my hand to keep from doubling over in hysterics.
“It wasn’t that funny?” His eyebrow rises and he stares at me, confused.
I take a few breaths and bite my lip so I don’t break out in a fit of laughter again. It seems now is the perfect time. I walk over to my purse and pull out a small, pen-sized box. It’s wrapped in silver with a shiny blue bow on top.
“I have something for you, too,” I say, holding out the box. His head tilts slightly to the side and the corner of his mouth curls up to a sexy half smile. It’s that damn smile that started this whole thing. Every time he flashes it, heat sears through my body. He takes the box and shakes it. I smile and nod for him to open it. His fingers move slowly as he carefully unwraps it. Right before he opens the box, I say, “The night isn’t over yet.”
He looks up and our eyes lock for a beat, confusion still in his, before he finishes opening the present. He pulls out the positive pregnancy test and holds it between his thumb and finger.
“Does this…is this…how?” he stutters, not able to form a whole sentence as he holds up the test. His eyes gleam as he looks at it again.
“It’s what you think,” I nod as my eyes start to fill with tears. “I guess I forgot antibiotics decrease the effectiveness of the pill.” I shrug one shoulder.
He looks back to me. A smile spreads across his face and his emerald green eyes sparkle. “We’re having a baby,” he boasts. I’m swept off my feet, and Aiden spins me around. I wrap my arms around his neck. When he puts me down, he drops to his knees and rests his head against my lace-covered stomach. I look down and watch his hand stretch across me, slowly caressing my stomach.
I didn’t think I could love this man any more than I already do, but my heart grows watching him. I place my hand over his and close my eyes, reveling in this feeling. The feeling of being complete.
When I open my eyes and look back down, he’s smiling up at me. Humor crinkles in the corners of his eyes. I tilt my head slightly, wondering what he’s thinking.
“Eight more to go,” he beams.
THE END
Author’s note
I can’t even put into words how excited I am for Aiden and Addison to finally have their happy ever after. The ending is bittersweet for me. I loved writing their story and I hope you have stayed with me for the ride, because it’s been a turbulent one with a few gut-wrenching drops. But their love was strong enough to withstand everything, and in the end it was beautiful.
The next few pages are the epilogue. I highly recommend that if you’re on a happy ever after high, to come back in a few days to read it. Unfortunately…Fate doesn’t stop at happy ever after’s.

Epilogue
One Year Anniversary
I look out the window where we stood a little over a year ago to say “I do.” Now, a couple of empty chairs sit facing the lake. Sun peeks through the cloudy sky, reflecting off the silent water. I startle when I feel Aiden’s hand wrap around me, stopping on my stomach.
“You doing okay?” he asks, nuzzling my neck.
It’s a phrase I’ve heard too many times this year. His patience and understanding is ironclad, and I’m grateful for it. He can read through my lies when I say that I am okay. The response is so automatic now, I’m starting to believe it. I slide my hand on top of his, linking our fingers and lean back into his body.
“I can’t believe it’s been a year,” I whisper. It’s funny to hear those words come out of my mouth because during the year it seemed liked everyday went by like a dripping sink. Painstakingly slow. I tried not to think about. I tried to keep myself busy taking care of Lexi and growing a baby inside of me, but a day hasn’t gone by that I haven’t thought about her.
“I know,” he murmurs.
“Jett finish eating?”
“Yep. As soon as he was done, Katie grabbed him.” I smile. Jett loves his Aunt Katie. I’ve loved having her close this year. She’s been one of my lifelines this year. “Did you see Lexi riding?”
“I did. She’s doing really well,” I respond proudly. We arrived at Max’s a little early before everyone else arrived so she could ride. Max kept his promise and bought her a horse. He had a barn with stalls built and has since bought a few more horses. I’ve just started to ride the last couple times we’ve come out because Aiden forbid it when I was pregnant.
“I think someone is getting sleepy,” I hear Katie say, walking into the kitchen. I release Aiden’s hand and turn. Jett’s rubbing his eyes but when he sees me his smile lights up and his green eyes shine.
I return his smile and walk over to them. “Is my big boy getting sleepy.” He lifts his arms for me to take him. He’s almost four months and the happiest baby ever. After all the heartache we’ve gone through, I was sure he would end up being a grumpy baby.
I reach for him and bring him in close to me, kissing him on his head. He lays his head on my shoulder, and I sway my body. Aiden rubs his hand down his back. I take in a deep breath, loving the smell of him. It’s a calming smell I crave these days. “I’ll put him in his bed,” Aiden says.
I can feel Jett’s body already relaxing against me. His arms haven’t gone limp yet, so I know he’s not all the way out. I kiss him and pass him over to Aiden. He snuggles into Aiden’s neck, and I can’t help but smile at the love between the two. I watch them until they disappear out of the kitchen.
Aiden is an amazing father. He still makes special time just for Lexi. He never wants her to think that just because Jett is our biological child that he is more important. They are both perfect in every way.
“Where’s JD?” Jaxon says, walking into the kitchen with us.
“You just missed him,” Katie responds. “Off to take a nap.”
Jaxon pulls Katie into him. “Can we go take a nap,” he jokes, kissing her neck. She slaps him on the chest, pushing him back.
“No.” She laughs. “Everyone is going to start showing up soon.”
Almost everyone.
I sigh. Katie peeks at me, sympathetically. “I love you, Sis,” she murmurs, giving me a hug.
“I love you, too,” I reply. “Can you do me a favor and go check on Lexi? I need to use the restroom.”
“Of course.” Her voice raises. “I’ve heard she’s getting good at riding.”
“She’s a natural,” Jaxon says. “Max is going to have her barrel racing soon.”
I laugh, knowing that is something Max would do. When they walk out of the kitchen, I make my way up the stairs. My hand runs along the wooden banister. I don’t need to go to the bathroom. I just wanted to see the room where we all got dressed for the wedding. It’s my favorite room of the house. I can still feel her energy in there.
Max hasn’t changed a thing in here. The bright room is blinding, but I’m used to it now. I stay for only a short while because I know the house is going to be full any minute. As I’m about to walk down the stairs, the sound of a door opening stops me. Stone is coming out of a room to the right of the stairs. I’ve asked Max repeatedly what he keeps in those rooms and the only answer he gives me is “stuff.”
I smirk, walking toward Stone. “Hi, Stone,” I say, flashing a sweet smile.
“Hey, Addison. How’s it going?” His hand is on the doorknob, and he clicks it shut.
“Good,” I reply. I tilt my head. “Stone, is that your room?”
He sha
kes his head. “Nah. I live in the guesthouse.”
“So…what’s in there?”
He cocks an eyebrow. “Nothing,” he says slowly.
I narrow my eyes. “I don’t believe you. Show me.” He starts to shake his head. “Please?” He stares at me for a beat and then sighs.
“Just a peek.” His voice is hesitant as he looks around first. The excitement in me bubbles over. Max is always so secretive about everything and now I get to see a little bit of it. When he opens the door, my eyes go wide.
One wall has at least ten monitors on it, all playing different locations of God knows where. It’s surveillance feeds. I catch a glimpse of a wall of pictures, which I assume are their cases. There are probably a hundred photos. I push open the door to get a clearer view. One picture in particular makes me freeze.
Stone holds onto the door, guarding the room so I can’t go in any farther. I lean my head closer and squint my eyes to focus on the picture. “Is that—”
“Fuck. Time to go,” he says, interrupting me. He pushes me out the door.
“Stone!” I say trying to get past him. He’s too big for me to move.
“Addison, don’t ask questions. I’m not going to answer them,” he states matter-of-factly. “Just forget you saw anything.”
I stomp my foot. “Really? How the hell do I forget what I just saw? Never mind! I’ll deal with Max.” I fly down the stairs and go straight to the kitchen. Stone follows me downstairs; I feel him on the heels of my feet. I hear him mutter a few curse words under his breath. My insides burn with anger; I can’t even talk. I snag a couple beers and head outside. I need to think and calm down before I rip Max’s head off. I hear Aiden call my name but my body keeps moving forward. I head down to the water to the empty chairs and sit down.
