The Rossiter safe was also a piece of cake. While it did not contain as rich a haul, it was certainly a worthwhile target. Violette O’Reilly had some lovely pieces. Barbee thought the gorgeous Nik Rossiter would have been happy to be even more generous with Violette, but she was a little prickly about her boundaries. Barbee had to laugh. She hadn’t been too inhibited to go after those diamond earrings at the Sultans and Slave Girls party on deck according to what Baylee had told her. She would have loved to see Violette shaking her booty and ringing the bells on the gold clit and nipple clips. That had to have been a sight. Barbee would be tempted to grab those earrings, but Violette had taken them with her when they had left the ship. Ah well, Violette would be sure to miss those immediately. She ended up with a four-carat diamond tennis bracelet. Since there were not as many items to choose from, she left it at that and returned to Baylee’s cabin where she waited for her sister to come back from her evening’s delight.

Baylee thought she would lose her mind if Alex didn’t get on with it. He had had her on the edge for what seemed like hours.

“Oh, Master, please let me come.”

“Is that topping from the bottom I hear, sub? And you were behaving so well,” he said as he delivered a sharp smack to her butt.

“Sorry, Master. I couldn’t help myself.” She winced as another smack rained down on her butt for speaking out of turn. Oh, well, I tried. To tell the truth, she liked the little smacks. She wasn’t as fond of the out-and-out spankings. Alex was not a disinterested or selfish lover. He had his finger on every pulse, and he missed nothing, always putting her pleasure first before his own. It was a unique and flattering experience to be the center of someone else’s attention to that degree. It was certainly a novel experience. She didn’t know if she would continue in the BDSM world after she and Barbee left the ship and this adventure, but she thought she might want to give it a try. She didn’t know if it would be as good with another Master. Before this trip she’d had no idea what was actually involved in the lifestyle and how appealing it could be. She didn’t think Barbee liked the lifestyle as well as she did, but she certainly enjoyed the sex with Alex.

Alex’s sharp nip at the back of her knee jarred Baylee from her reverie. “Thoughts on me, sub. Your mind is wandering.” She had no idea how he knew that. She certainly hoped she hadn’t voiced her thoughts out loud. That would be the disaster to end all disasters. She had better concentrate, or she could find herself in the brig.

“Of course, Master. The pleasure you give addles the mind of this undeserving sub.” She laughed to herself. She could see the smile on his face out of the corner of her eye. He wasn’t buying that one for a minute. He returned to torturing the backs of her sensitive knees, and she moaned.

Finally he worked his way back up to her pussy, and his talented fingers had her writhing with desire. Now she wasn’t laughing. Her head fell back. She needed to come, but he hadn’t given his permission yet, and she really did make every effort not to come without permission. That little faux pas was guaranteed to get her a red-hot butt. She would make a game of it and see if she could come out of the other end of this encounter without earning a punishment.

The little blonde sub was performing well. Maybe it was time for her reward. “Now, sub.” Alex redoubled his efforts, and soon had Baylee right on the thin edge. He put his mouth over her pulsating clit and sucked. Her orgasm jolted through her entire body, and before it had eased, he stepped up behind her and took possession of her hot pussy with a masterful thrust, starting another series of orgasms rolling through her body. She quivered and shook with the power of her response.

  Chapter Thirteen

The Golden Dolphin – Rio de Janeiro Harbor, Brazil, March 5, 2014 – Ash Wednesday, 3:30 p.m., Day Fourteen of the Cruise

Con and Alex were on the bridge of the Golden Dolphin preparing to leave the harbor and head north to Fortaleza where the Devereaus and Rossiters were to rejoin the cruise.

“To tell you the truth, Alex, I’m glad to be homeward bound on this trip. Too much shit was going down in Rio. I just wasn’t comfortable. I’m not sure the ship wasn’t still under surveillance.”

“You may be right. I had an uncomfortable feeling a few times when I was on the dock—nothing concrete, just… I won’t be sorry to leave either. The two extra security men from Blackweiler Security are a welcome addition to the crew until we’re back in Miami. We were stretched a little thin especially with having two of Greg’s men on shore duty with Devereau’s party. I think the next two days in international waters will be a welcome respite for everyone to catch their breath.”

Alex looked thoughtful. “I think we should keep up the extra vigilance and not just when we are in any of the remaining ports of call. I’ll be glad when Tommy and Sam are back aboard even though we did pick up these two new guys in Rio. I’d like to keep an eye on them. I’m glad we decided not to tell them about the GPS chips in the ID bracelets.”

“Yeah. You’re right. Let’s not relax too much. Anything could still happen.”

  * * * *

Barbee and Baylee were relaxing on the bed in Baylee’s cabin. “I’m glad to be leaving Rio. I’ll feel better when we get back up to the islands just in case we have to make a fast getaway. We have options there and a lot of contacts.” Barbee had the cache of stolen items laid out on the bed. She was admiring the pile of sparkling pieces of jewelry.

“Good work, sis. I think this will be a very profitable couple of weeks. I’d really rather you put all that stuff back in the suitcase just in case someone knocks on my door. The crew is getting used to asking me to help out, and someone might come calling unexpectedly. I’ll have an excuse to discourage that after the Devereaus and Rossiters come back on board.”

“I’m really anxious to see if any of this stuff is missed,” Barbee said as she replaced the items in separate plastic bags and neatly stacked them in the hidden compartment of Baylee’s suitcase. “These women have so much they may not even miss these pieces. That would be the ideal situation. Maybe we should cool it now and not get greedy, not try for any more scores in the other suites.”

“I think you’re right. Why take chances? I think we have enough to make the trip worthwhile.”

Nik and Violette were relaxing in the living room of their guest suite at Rancho Devereau. They would pack up and be prepared to leave tomorrow, but they had one more day to enjoy the rancho. Together with Jamie and Anne, they had taken several more scenic trail rides and had spent some time sunning and swinging in hammocks on the beach. Jamie and Nik had even done some surfing. It really was a beautiful, isolated location. Nik and Violette had made one more trip to the dungeon, but both had agreed they really didn’t care for it and had determined not to use it again. As far as they knew, Jamie and Anne had not visited it at all.

Nik rolled over on the sofa and looked at Violette. “How are you doing, babe? Everything okay?”

“I’m fine, Nik. Just a little anxious about rejoining the cruise. Do you think it’s safe?”

“Security on board has been beefed up some, and we know Greg’s guys left those two thugs in Rio with a few broken ribs and some other fairly serious injuries. I doubt they are in any condition to follow the ship. As to whether or not Sokolov has found someone else to cause us problems, I don’t know. My security team hasn’t come up with anything new, but they are still on it.” He wasn’t completely satisfied with his own answer.

“Honey, you and your team are doing the best you can. I still can’t wrap my mind around the fact that a ‘friend’ of mine has done this.”

  “Vi…”

“I know. I know. I saw the video with my own eyes. I’m just saying that it’s hard to comprehend emotionally.”

“I know how disappointed you are in Katya. I’m just glad she hasn’t gotten her green card or U.S. citizenship yet. It’s not too late to get her ass shipped back to Mother Russi
a.”

  “Oh, Nik…”

“Don’t even start, Vi. She’s a dangerous woman. Not only to you, but to anyone she comes in contact with that stands in her way or has something she wants.” He didn’t want Violette’s soft heart getting the better of her.

“You’re right. It’s just so hard to believe.”

Jamie rolled to the side so Anne could breathe. He loved to stay joined to her after they had made love, but he knew he was heavy on her chest. “That was magnificent, cher. I don’t know if I’ll be able to stand it after we’ve had fifty years of experience doing this.”

She laughed into his face as she ran her hand down his chest and cradled his semierect shaft in her long-fingered hands. “I don’t know. There’s always room for improvement.”

He immediately rolled back into position on top of her. “Are you sure? Don’t challenge me, if you don’t mean it, subbie.” He knew he was being predictable, and he started to laugh at himself.

She giggled. “There is no one like you, Jamison Devereau. You are definitely one of a kind.” Her laugh died in her throat as he reentered her with a powerful thrust and began to ride her again. It only took him moments to recover, and he was determined to bring her off again. Even minor challenges to his manhood could not be ignored after all. She arched her back and gave him her throat. He licked down the delicate column until he reached her breasts, and then he took each of her nipples into his hot mouth in turn. He ran his tongue over the faint but sensitive scars that marred them. She moaned. “Oh, baby, harder, faster…”

He plowed into her slick pussy with no mercy and soon had her screaming as she came for the third time in an hour. His little wife was extremely responsive, and he loved every minute he was inside her, outside her, in the neighborhood, or anywhere near her. His marriage to Anne Sutton was the best thing he had ever done for himself…and he hoped for her.

Katya waited for Andrei Sokolov to pick her up after her Wednesday evening performance. It was well known in the theater world that the best opportunity to get seats to very popular performances in all of the arts was on Ash Wednesday or Good Friday. It was often possible to score seats to shows that were sold out for months in advance. Even so, the audience at Avery Fisher Hall was thin. Katya had to wonder if that wasn’t because the star, in as much as there was a star in an orchestra, was not in attendance. As first violin of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, Violette O’Reilly had a dedicated following of her own. While Katya thought she was every bit as good a violinist, as the virtually unknown second violin, she was just not Violette with the legendary Colleen in her hands. There had been coverage in the arts media about Violette’s subway accident, her expected absence from Lincoln Center, and the cancellation of her private concerts for at least six to eight weeks, and attendance had suffered. Katya was furious. This was her big chance, and Violette was still able to ruin it—even long distance.

When she got into Andrei’s car, she turned to him and said, “Are we going back to Brighton Beach for night, Andrei?”

“Sure, baby. Let’s stop for late dinner at Tatiana and then go back to apartment.”

After a fabulous late meal at the famous Russian restaurant that was reminiscent of Moscow in the ’80s, they returned to his apartment. Katya had used her talented hands and mouth to make Andrei a happy man. She knew what she had to do to get what she wanted, and she wasn’t shy about doing it. “Is there any news from Rio?”

“No good news yet, baby. I know of two attempts that have failed, and now I don’t hear from the guys in Rio. Apparently, this ship, Golden Dolphin, has excellent security crew. Maybe Rossiter is suspicious subway incident was not an accident. Ship has now left Rio on return voyage.”

“Oh, Andrei. I am so disappointed. I was hoping that…”

“Don’t worry, baby. Andrei has something else up sleeve. The ship hired two additional security consultants from a security contractor in Rio for return voyage, but my guy in Rio was able to convince one of them that he wants to do favor for Russian mob. We will see what happen next.”

Katya smiled at him as she ran her small hands down over his skinny chest and disturbing tattoos. She knew what was going to happen next, and she was determined to keep Andrei Sokolov enthralled until Violette O’Reilly was no longer standing in her way.

  Chapter Fourteen

The Golden Dolphin – Fortaleza Harbor, Brazil, March 7, 2014 – Friday 9:00 a.m., Day Sixteen of the Cruise

The shore party returned to the ship via helicopter and were back aboard by nine o’clock. The Golden Dolphin was scheduled to leave port at ten o’clock. Nik and Violette returned to their suite, and Violette began unpacking their bags.

Violette poked her head out of the closet and said, “Nik, I can’t find my diamond tennis bracelet. It’s not in my jewelry roll in the safe.”

“Did you accidently leave it at the rancho?”

“No, I didn’t take it with me. I was putting away my new diamond earrings when I noticed the bracelet wasn’t there.”

“Are you sure you brought it on the trip?”

“Yes, I wore it to dinner the other night. I know I put it back in the jewelry roll.”

“Well, if you say so, then you did. I’ll call the Captain and let him know we think something is missing.” Nik knew Violette wasn’t careless with her things, and if anything, she was a little compulsive about there being a place for everything and everything being in its place.

  * * * *

In the master suite, Jamie and Anne called for a pot of coffee and pastries to be served on their private deck while Anne began unpacking the clothing and other items they had taken on the trip to Rancho Devereau.

“Jamie, I can’t find the pear-shaped diamond earrings and pendant you gave me for Christmas, and I think another pair of earrings and a bangle bracelet are missing as well…on top of the five-row diamond bracelet I mentioned the other day. That’s really just too much of a coincidence. I know I brought the pendant and earrings, even if I am not sure about the five-row bracelet.”

“You’re right. I’ll call Con.” Jamie had thought Anne was bringing too much jewelry on the trip, but he hadn’t wanted to cramp her style. He knew she loved pretty things, and he always delighted in buying them for her. What the hell was money for if one couldn’t use it to make someone one loved happy?

  * * * *

Captain Con Cortelis took calls from Jamie Devereau and Nik Rossiter about missing jewelry within two minutes of each other. He visited first the master suite where his boss was staying and then the Rossiter suite. The ladies in both suites assured him that they were sure the jewelry that was missing had been brought aboard except for Anne’s diamond bracelet that she wasn’t certain she had packed. He took descriptions of the missing articles and noted when they were last seen or worn.

When he got back to the bridge, he looked over at Alex Dragados with a frown. “Jewelry is missing from both the Devereau and Rossiter suites. Do you think there is any possibility that jewel thieves got on the ship in Rio? Or do we have a jewel thief on board? I don’t know what’s up, but I don’t like it. The last thing we needed was a theft from the boss’s suite. How much worse can it get from there?”

“Oh, about the only thing I can think of that would be worse would be if the jewel thief had a cell phone camera. Is this freaking ship cursed or what?” Alex looked perplexed about this latest development.

“I’m beginning to wonder. Talk about the luck of the Irish. We sure as shit don’t have any of that. I’m going to see if Greg can come up with any explanation, or if there is anything on our video surveillance or GPS records. His guys are top notch, and after the Harmon Burke incident, I don’t think they are taking their eyes off the gangway to blink.”

“I hope he has something for us. This is not going to look good to the boss—his wife’s jewelry stolen right out of the safe in the master suite.”

  “Don’t say anything ab
out this to any of the crew, just in case.”

  Chapter Fifteen

The Golden Dolphin – Cruising the coast of South America, March 8, 2014 – Saturday 11:00 a.m., Day Seventeen of the Cruise

Gregory Dempsey and Natasha Romanova spent several hours reviewing all of the video surveillance footage since the Golden Dolphin had left New York Harbor. Nothing jumped out at them immediately. They didn’t see any shadowy figures that didn’t belong on board. It was puzzling.

“Tasha, I want to go over all these tapes again. There has to be something here. I’m beginning to think that being the security officer on board this vessel is harder than running ten fetish clubs. A kidnapping, a sneaky reporter with a camera, a jewel thief. What the hell is next?”

“Gregory, we will figure it out. Has to be a reasonable answer. Neither of those women strike me as careless or irresponsible, and diamonds don’t walk away on their own.”

“That they don’t. We have checked and double-checked the crew’s backgrounds. Not one of them has a criminal record, and all of them have had their seafarer credentials for years. If, in fact, Anne Sutton brought her diamond bracelet aboard, it was missing before the extra security men joined the crew in Rio. That’s not to say it couldn’t still be them.”

“Why don’t you check the newest crew member, Baylee Baxter, again?”

“I already did. She’s clean as a whistle. I just don’t get this. I’m going to pull the records of the key card swipes on the doors to those suites and see if there’s anything there.”
