“I know, I know, but you know my mouth.” They laughed, talked some more and said their goodbyes.

She decided to go out for a run. It was six o’clock and the sun was gone. The breeze rolled over her as she passed her apartment building and approached a few houses. She then began to imagine that she lived together with Danny; there were late nights drinking coffee and talking about their day, them jogging together and talking. One of those nights, they went home and showered together. She lathered up her hands and washed his member slowly. He bent down and took a chocolate nipple in his hot mouth. Her legs started to get weak. She had to stop her imagination from running wild or she wouldn’t make it home.

Monique ran around the block three more times and went back to her apartment. The house phone rang as she was stepping in her apartment, she hurried and answered the phone.

”Hello?” She said breathlessly, patting her damp neck.

  “Hey, beautiful.”

Monique looked at the phone, raising an eyebrow. It wasn’t Danny’s voice. But who else called her beautiful?

  Chapter 6

  “Who is this?”

“You don’t recognize my voice beautiful?”

She thought for a minute with a confused look on her face. Then her eyes got big with recognition. “Darren?”

  “Ding, ding.”

“How did you get my number?” She asked.

“My paperwork. You don’t mind do you?” Darren asked.

“Yes, I do. That’s for emergencies only.” She put an emphasis on only.

“I just wanted to see how you were.”

“I’m fine, I gotta go.” Monique hung up the phone.

She thought, I didn’t put my number down. She went to take a shower thinking about how he got her number. She needed a shower after that run. If she was being honest, it was her daydream. Monique changed into comfortable clothes, then she thought about Haley; she liked him. She got a notebook that held her coworkers’ names and numbers in it, and picked up the phone. Haley answered on the second ring. In her high pitched voice she said, “Hello?”

  “Hey it’s Monique.”

“I'm glad you called but, umm, you never call me. What’s up?”

“I know, just not a phone person.”

  “It’s okay. What’s up?”

“Did you hook up with Darren?”

“Yea, I was going to tell you.” She stuttered.

  “Girl, please!”

Monique waived her hand as if Haley could see her.

“Whew!” Haley sighed before she continued, “Well we went out and went back to my house. He constantly talked about you, then it moved into my bedroom. Later, he never mentioned you again. In the morning, he was gone. Girl you didn’t miss out on anything.”

“That’s weird. He just called me.”

“Really, how did he get your number? We don’t list it.”

“Paperwork.” Monique said with a shrug, as though Haley could see her.

“I knew there was something wrong with him, he was being all weird. Are you still going handle his account?”

“No, I don’t need to encourage his craziness.”

“I’ll see you at work tomorrow.”

  “Ok, bye.”

She really needed drinks that night. Monique headed for the kitchen, and called for something stronger. She knew she had to work the next day, but that call had her shook. A bottle of tequila and a shot glass sat in front of her. She drank herself to bed early that night.

At work, she called Darren. She told him she couldn’t work on his account anymore. Adrian came to her desk.

  “Hey, girl.” Monique greeted.

”Hey, some man is downstairs asking everyone for you.”

Monique looked at her with furrowing eyebrows.

  ”Yeah, girl.”

”Thanks.” Monique responded, still dumbfounded as to who it could be.

“No problem girl,” Adrian said as she walked off.

Monique got up to see who it was. She walked into the break room and saw the back of the man, and immediately knew who it was. Upon her realization, she went in front of him with her hand on her temple.

“Mr. Mills, what are you doing here?”

He grabbed Monique’s hands, startling her. She looked at their joined hands and let hers fall to her side, gently pulling it from his grasp.

“I’m sorry but I just have too many accounts,” she said.

“It’s ok, take as long as you want,” Darren replied.

“I appreciate that. I really do but I can’t.” Monique walked away before he could object. She made a beeline straight for Haley’s desk. Haley looked up seeing a shadow over her desk. Monique was rubbing her temples.

  “What’s wrong?” asked Haley.

“I should have never flirted back. Guess who’s downstairs?”

“What! Why?” Haley already knew who it was.

“I left a voicemail saying I couldn’t work on his account no more. A minute after I hung up, he was here.”

Haley shook her head and asked, “Do you want me to call security?”

  “No, I can handle it.”

When she got to her desk, she got a call.

  “Hello?” Monique answered.

“Hey, it’s Danny. Can you get away now?”

She closed her eyes; his voice was like a breath of fresh air.

  “Sure, give me a minute.”

She went to the manager on duty’s office, and made up a story about having to leave. Monique straightened her desk, and then went to the parking garage. With her hand to her chest, she faced Darren.

“Sorry, I scared you, I need to talk to you.” He said urgently.

On seeing Darren, Monique let out the breath she was holding.

“Not now, I gotta go.” She said, making a move to go past him. But he caught her arm with a tight grip, saying, “It will be quick. I promise.”

A dark and deep voice came from behind her saying, “She said not now. Emphasis on not now.”

Danny’s eyes were zoomed in where Darren held her arm. He seemed bigger. Darren let her arm go and said, “We’ll talk later.”

She could hear a low growl. Monique looked around to see if a dog was nearby, but she saw nothing, and that left her confused. She knew she heard a growl. Danny put his hand on her lower back and guided her to the car. His eyes still on Darren even after we got in the car. She tentatively touched his arm. He was very hot. She was about to ask him about his temperature when he turned and looked at her.

His gaze made her squirm with a dull ache between her legs. Danny inhaled, and his pupils covered his irises. He grabbed Monique and gave her a panty melting kiss. She moaned into the kiss and was rewarded with a swirl of his tongue. He broke the kiss and they both silently stared at each other with blatant desire. Danny finally broke the intense stare and started up the car like things were normal. Monique turned in her seat too, with her heart finally slowing down. She touched her lips and jumped, startled by his voice asking, “Are you okay?”

  “Yeah.”

Satisfied with that answer, he turned his focus on the road. They drove for about fifteen minutes, and then parked in front of a skating rink.

  “Umm, what are we doing?”

  “Skating. Is that ok?”

Monique turned to Danny with a wide grin.

“Skating? Yes!” She said excitedly, with light shining in her eyes.

Monique smiled, as it has been so long since she skated. She was smiling so hard, her cheeks hurt. Danny gave her a pearly white grin and got out of the car. He came around and opened her door.

“Let’s see if they are any good. Shall we?” he said, holding out his arm.

“Absolutely,” she said, taking his arm.

They walked inside. A few people were scattered around; some playing the games that were in the premises, and some skating.

They walked to get skates, and then Monique and Danny sat down to put them on.

  “Don
’t expect anything, I haven’t done this in so long.” She said, putting on her skates.

“Me neither.” Danny said, smiling at her.

He grabbed her hand and said “Come on.”

Monique’s heart beat faster with the touch, but she toned down her excitement, smiled and said, “Ok.” They went out on the floor. Monique and Danny skated close together. She started to go faster, while he slowed down and went behind her. He lightly held her waist, and electricity traveled from where his hands were to her now perky nipples. Danny felt it and whispered in her ear, “Are you cold?”

The soft blow of air on her ear made her eyes flutter. Mint wafted to her, making her want to turn around and devour his mouth. She felt a very powerful feeling from her stomach straight to here sweet spot. Monique gulped and said, “No, I’m good.”

He leaned back and she put her hands over his, igniting the torch. He also had a perfect view of her butt. His member was getting hard again so he didn’t skate close to her or she surely would feel him.

“So does that guy bother you often?” Danny whispered in her ear.

Chills ran down her spine and her nipples pebbled. Monique almost forgot what he was saying then she remembered.

“He has always been weird but today he was more aggressive than usual,” she said quickly.

He sensed her emotions and smelled her wet panties. Danny breathed in and out, slowly trying to get control of himself. He was so close to throwing her over his shoulder and taking her in the car like a beast. Wait a minute, he thought. What she said the night before was no longer on his mind. It was almost as if a chain broke inside of him. Danny plastered his hips to her butt and whispered in her ear.

“Do I need to take care of him?” He asked, naughtily outlining her ear with his tongue.

Monique’s eyes fluttered close and she stuttered.

“No,” letting out a soft moan. She couldn’t think straight, and so, she let her body think for her. She could feel his hard member. As she pushed back against it, he growled low in her ear. They began a slow skating dance. She placed his hand on her stomach, loving how his skin and hers matched.

Danny followed the movement of her hips as a slow song was playing. She moved sensually, while he was plastered to her. Danny went in front of her and grabbed her hands and put it on his waist. He looked into her eyes and skated backwards, moving his hips to the music. Monique was memorized by his eyes and started mimicking his moves. A fast song came on that she liked. Her hips moved fast, as he shook her butt. He hurried up with wide eyes and got behind her. She laughed, and that drew a laugh from him. They skated more for fifteen more minutes before they left. Danny held the car door open for Monique, and then he went around and got in the car. Once he was in, he said, “Got a little more time?”

  “Sure.”

“Good, I want to take you to a place I like. But before we go, I want to ask you something.”

  “What is it?”

“I know you have been in a bad relationship, but I want you to know what a good one is. I want to replace that bad relationship.” He said, gently cupping her cheek.

Monique closed her eyes with the feel of his hand.

“Yes,” she said, with her eyes still closed.

“Really?” he asked, in a bid to confirm.

Monique couldn’t help it. His excitement was contagious. Monique gave him a quick kiss.

“Thank you for trusting me,” he said.

  “I hope I’m not making a mistake.”

“I did it!” Monique announced to herself with a grin.

He drove to a place that looked closed.

“Are you sure this place is open?”

“Don’t be fooled by the outside, they have the best burgers.”

“If you say so,” Monique responded, eyeing the worn down building. As they approached the door, he held it open for her.

The inside was super clean and intimate with tables only big enough for two people. They went up to the register and ordered a cheeseburger and fries for her, and three triple cheeseburgers for him.

Monique raised one eyebrow at him.

“Hungry.” He said with a smirk, as if that explained it.

Danny put his fingers in the back of his head and grinned.

“The walk made me hungry.” He continued.

She still thought it was a lot even if you’re hungry.

We found a seat at the back and sat down. Monique grabbed her burger, lifted it to her mouth and felt eyes on her.

  “What?”

“I want to see your reaction to the burger.” Danny said.

She took a bite of the burger and said, “Hmmmm, that tastes so good.”

He smiled them pearly whites at her, and then dug into his burgers. It took two minutes for him to eat all of it. Then he watched her eat when done.

“So, tell me about you,” he said.

Monique swallowed her food and gaped at his empty plate. She put effort into trying to not say anything about it.

“Umm, I already told you about my mother who died a few years ago.” She looked down at her food, cleared her throat and continued.

“I grew up here and moved to Florida, was there for seven years. My father is still in Florida. We talk now and then. You?”

“My father was strict, to put it mildly. Mother and father are not together. I have lived here for years.”

“So you already knew we were near a store when we were jogging?” she asked, with a raised eyebrow.

  “I’m sorry, yes.” he said.

“I’m not mad, I’m glad I met you.” She said, letting out a smile.

“Me too,” he said, smiling back.

Monique finished her food and they left. When they got in the car, she said, “Next time, I’ll choose the place. Not that all your places haven’t been good, but I know good places too.”

“No objections here.” Danny responded, with a smile. He started the car and pulled up to the park he first saw Monique at. When he stopped, he turned to her and said, “I thought we could walk off the food.”

  “Good idea.”

Monique and Danny walked the path, holding hands, talking and laughing with each other. She sort of felt protected and like a schoolgirl, she was always giggling. He drove her home and walked her to her door.

“I had a great time today.” Said Monique.

  “That pleases me.”

“So am I going see you this weekend?”

“Maybe,” she said, said twirling her shirt.

“Well I hope to see you soon,” he said, putting his hand on Monique’s cheek. Her eyes fluttered. He leaned down, and she closed her eyes. Danny kissed Monique softly on her lips, and said,

“Hope to see you very soon.” Then he turned and left. Monique opened her eyes feeling disappointed and confused; she wanted way more. She unlocked her door and went straight to the kitchen and poured herself some pink Moscato. She thought, I wasn’t imagining the attraction between us, especially when we were skating. The drink only made her hornier - it went straight down to her sweet spot. She changed and did her laundry. Monique’s mind wandered while putting her clothes in the wash. She thought about Danny sucking her nipples; she shook her head with the thought, as it was only serving to turn her on more. She finished putting the clothes in the wash and went back to the kitchen. As she walked to the kitchen, she looked at the telephone longingly.

Monique started washing the dishes, and then swept, and vacuumed. The washer stopped, and she put the clothes in the dryer. Meanwhile, Danny opened his door and headed straight for the kitchen. He got vodka out and took a shot. The burning did little to quell his desire. He swept the floor thinking her lips looked so good. I hope I’m going slow enough for her. Lord knows I don’t want to. He vacuumed his living room, then his room, made up his bed, and refolded his clean clothes that were sitting on his bed. Months went by like that. They both tried different spots that had good food. Afterwards, they took walks in the park. The end of th
eir dates always ended with them trying out different things to take their minds off sex.

  Chapter 7

At work, Monique kept getting flowers; the flowers kept smiles on her face daily. She assumed Danny was keeping his word, replacing her bad memories with James. They had been dating for eight glorious months. She sighed in contentment with her arm resting on her desk and her hand under her chin, looking at nothing in particular. He truly had been giving her good memories. Monique remembered when ice cream fell on his lap. That day, he had shorts on for their daily walk. That ice cream hit his leg and he made the most awful noise. Monique laughed so hard her stomach hurt. As she remembered, she giggled to herself, drawing inquisitive stares from co-workers. At home, she still received those weird gifts. She decided today she would tell Danny about it.

Her manager came up to her desk.

“Hey, Karen, what’s up?” Monique asked.

“Hey, ]Mr. Mills called. He said he wanted to complain about the handling of his account. I saw you were working on his account and then closed it.”

“Yeah, I had too many accounts. Tried to take on too much.”

“I understand,” she said, with a knowing look on her face, and walked off.

Monique resumed her thoughts to herself, Really! It’s been eight months. She got up and walked to Haley’s desk.

“Hey girl,” Monique started, “I forgot to tell you a few months ago that Darren was waiting for me in the garage.”

“Why?” Haley asked, with her eyebrows furrowed together.

“He wanted to know why I dropped his account. He even grabbed my arm. If Danny didn’t show up, who knows what he would have done.”

With her hand on her chest, she said, “Omg!”

“You should really call security”, She said, with concern.

“Back up!” Haley said with raised eyebrows, before she continued, “Who is Danny?”

“My man.” Monique said, with a smile tugging at her lips.

“Ooh, I need deets!” Haley said, curious about this new man of hers.

Monique’s eyes took on a dreamy look as she explained, “He has gorgeous green eyes, red hair, and delicious freckles.”
