“I want you so bad,” he says as he rips his mouth away from mine, his eyes glazed with desire.

“Yes” is all I can say, and I try to pull his lips back to mine.

His hand comes up and massages my breast, teasing my nipple until it’s hard. He lifts me up in the water, so he can lavish it with the same attention with his mouth. His tongue swirls around my nipple, and he sucks and licks.

“Oh my God.” I moan as my fingers run through his hair.

“Do you like that?” he asks roughly, and his mouth traces a path back to my lips. My breasts are swollen and tender now, my body primed for sex.

I reach down before he can stop me and grab a hold of that glorious cock of his. I hear him moan in pleasure while I softly skim my fingers over his length.

“Do you like that?” I ask in return, my voice raw.

Jamie reaches up and grabs hold of my hair. He gently pulls my head back so he can look down at me. “I want you, Wylder.”

“I want you too, Jamie,” I say passionately.

Between one breath and the next, he captures my mouth and plunges into me. I moan in pleasure as our tongues duel and he fills me to my core.

“You were made for me,” his husky voice rasps when he pulls away from my mouth. He traces kisses to my ear and settles farther into me.

“Please” is the only thing I can manage to say.

“Look at me.” Jamie moves back, his emerald eyes bright with passion.

  Our eyes lock.

“You are mine, Wylder.” His voice is possessive, territorial. “Say it.”

“I don’t belong to anyone,” I whisper back, even though at this moment if I had to belong to anyone it would be Jamie Donovan.

I try to rub myself against him, but he holds me still. His eyes briefly flicker in disapproval, then change into something else.

They change into the eyes of an expert hunter.

One who always gets what he wants.

  Jamie smiles in anticipation.

  Oh, shit.

  He’s accepted the challenge.

  “Jamie—”

“Wylder,” he says with a wicked grin.

He stays settled deeply inside of me and walks to the edge of the pool. He pushes me against the wall, water lapping up around me and falling over the edge. He moves slowly, the friction making me crazy with desire.

“Do you like that?” he asks softly.

  “Yes,” I whisper. “Please.”

“Please, what?” Jamie demands, his tone no longer teasing as his hand cups my face. “Please fuck you until you can’t see straight? Until you’re screaming out my name?” His voice sounds strained, raspy. “Until you can think of nothing else?”

“Yes,” I whisper in anticipation. My eyes glaze over in desire as I moan.

His lips move up against mine, and he whispers almost angrily, “I’ll fuck you until you realize this thing between us is something more than just sex.”

As he says the last words, he pulls out and drives so fully into me that I scream out at the top of my lungs. He continues to plunge into me with an almost animalistic force that has me coming in no time. He comes right after me, screaming out my name.

Our tongues meld together as we orgasm. The sex between us is raw. Primal. There’s nothing sugar sweet about it.

  It’s wild.

  Like my soul. And his.

My legs quiver in the aftermath. I’ll drown if I try to use them.

Jamie’s arm encircles my waist, and he draws me in closer. His mouth moves to kiss my neck.

“You’re going to kill me.” He chuckles.

“I’m not the one to blame for this.” I’m enjoying the intimacy between us more than I care to admit.

“You’re not?” Jamie questions as he pulls away.

I give him an innocent smile.

He pulls out, and it suddenly dawns on me.

“Oh my God,” I whisper, wide-eyed. “We didn’t use protection.”

I can’t believe I acted so irresponsibly. How could I forget such an important thing? Was I crazy? Well, one look at Jamie Donovan, and it’s easy to do.

His gaze is guarded as he watches me. “We did not.”

“Jamie,” I tell him in growing paranoia. “I don’t know if you… if you—”

“If I’m safe?” he says for me.

I look at him in embarrassment. “I don’t mean to be insulting.” I try to say it as nicely as possible. “But you are… you know…”

Jamie takes a step back, so he can pin me with his gaze.

  “I’m what?” he asks quietly.

A man-whore? Somehow, I don’t think he’ll take too kindly to me saying those words out loud.

“You get around.” I think it came out right.

When I see the look on his face, I can tell it didn’t. I take a shaky step away from him and dip into the pool.

“Don’t look like that.” I try to apologize. “I don’t mean it in a bad way—”

“Insinuating I don’t practice safe sex is insulting.” His voice is the harshest I’ve ever heard.

I’m about to point out the obvious, but he beats me to it.

“This is the first time I’ve ever done anything so foolish,” he explains. “And considering you didn’t think about until after either, we might both be to blame. I think we can let this time pass—”

  “Pass?”

“I’m safe,” he snaps out. “I get tested regularly for STDs. You should know that, Wylder. It was one of the requirements to get into the club. Everyone has to turn in a clean bill of health.”

My face burns from the reminder. He’s right. I guess I forgot.

“Okay, don’t get mad,” I tell him, holding up my hand. “I just had to ask.” I don’t bring up the other pink elephant in the room—the kind where I can get pregnant without using a condom—but then Jamie does.

“And I assume you’re on birth control, so we have nothing to worry about,” Jamie says quietly.

I am on birth control, but I forgot to take my pill this morning. I’ll just take today’s right when I get home.

  Problem solved.

Since it looks like I’ve soured his mood, I decide to do something to fix it immediately. I move into Jamie’s arms and wrap my body around his.

He remains stiff for only a second before his arms curl around my body. “You’re a fast learner.”

“I am,” I tell him and place a kiss on his cheek. “So are we going to swim, or are you going to show me where your favorite place is?”

“Favorite place,” he says. “But wait here while I get robes and towels. It’s too cold for you.”

He pulls away from me, and I get to watch that perfect body of his get out of the water and walk in all of its naked glory to the pool house. His muscles are sinewy and long, like he was sculpted by an artist. He even walks with authority. He has so many good qualities going for him; it’s almost unfair.

Jamie doesn’t seem to be too bothered by the cold, but then I remember he grew up on the New England coast. This weather is nothing to him.

He disappears into the darkness and comes out a minute later wearing a robe. He’s holding another plus a towel for me. His own robe is open, exposing glimpses of his tanned chest and ripped legs. God, I can seriously stare at him for hours.

He throws the towel over his shoulder and walks to the edge of the pool, his eyes like bright jewels shining out of his handsome face.

He opens the spare robe and holds it out for me, waiting for me to exit so he can cover me up. I get out of the pool quickly, the cold air hitting me hard. I’m grateful for the warmth. He wraps me in it and then proceeds to towel dry my hair.

  Towel dry my hair.

  Are you serious?

Why is he so flipping perfect?

When he’s done, he leans down and gives me a chaste peck on the lips. “Shall we?”

  “Yes.”

He leads the way through his backyard until we reach a simple wooden cano
py with the most comfortable-looking hammock hanging invitingly in front of the incredible view.

“And here it is,” Jamie says with gusto. “The greatest place on earth. To read. To think. To be hung over…”

I giggle. “It looks like heaven.”

“Well, come on then,” he says as he tugs on my hand. “Let’s climb inside and watch the moon. I paid to make sure it was full tonight.”

I laugh in his face. “That’s a good one.”

“I thought it was a romantic gesture.” His eyes dance with mirth.

“Super romantic,” I agree. “All of it.”

He gets in the hammock first and I follow, settling comfortably between his muscled legs. He wraps his arms around me and kisses the top of my head, like we’ve done it a million times.

The comfort I feel with him is a bit unnerving. It’s like I’ve known him forever. I can’t even believe how I’m so at ease with my nudity around him.

“Look at her, Wyld.” Jamie sighs in pleasure and pulls me closer to his body. He places another kiss on my cheek. “Look at how perfect she is.”

The “she” he’s referring to is the moon. And seriously, from this view, she really is perfect.

But you know who’s more perfect?

  Jamie Donovan.

  Chapter Thirteen

“Moo! Moo!” I make cow noises as Jamie stares at me with his iPad held to his head.

We’re in his bedroom, sitting on his bed… Well, I was sitting, but I’m up and animated now, and we’re playing a serious game of Heads Up! and it’s gotten real. It was my idea to play the game, and to my pleasure, Jamie is a huge fan.

I’m not surprised to learn he’s as competitive as I am.

I’m wearing a blue T-shirt of his and nothing else. He’s wearing a pair of grey sweat shorts and nothing else.

“Cow!” he shouts, giving me the correct answer.

Jamie flips the iPad down, then back up. The word donkey comes up.

“Hee-haaaa.” I pitter-patter around his room with no shame, mimicking donkey noises. I seriously bend up and down just like the animal. “Hee-haaaaa.”

“Donkey!” Jamie shouts before falling back on the bed in a fit of laughter.

“I’m not done!” I scream at him in anger. “I’ve got fifteen more seconds!”

He’s laughing so hard, I can barely make out what he’s saying. After a moment, my lips twitch in mirth, but still...

I walk to the edge of the bed and cross my arms. His muscular and very naked chest shakes as he continues to laugh. He’s thrown the iPad down next to him, and he can’t seem to get a grip.

“It wasn’t that funny,” I finally say, a tad annoyed.

He opens his eyes to stare at me. They’re literally glistening with tears.

“Oh, Wylder.” His chest is shaking. “It really was.”

“We were playing a game,” I say, pointing out the obvious. “If I’m going to play a game, I’m going to try my best to win.”

“I can see that,” he says and starts to laugh again.

There’s only so much a girl can take.

I jump on the bed and grab a pillow and start to smack him with it. “Now who’s laughing!” I hit him hard with the pillow.

He covers his body for a second, still shamelessly laughing, then grabs a pillow and joins in on the fun.

We go at each other hard. I get a decided advantage and end up straddling him, and I whack him with a pillow. He has his hands up covering his face before he grabs my body and effortlessly rolls me on my back. In less than ten seconds, he’s grabbed the pillow and tossed it across the room.

He lifts my arms up over my head and grins down at me. “Truce?”

I buck my hips under him.

“Come on,” he whispers seductively as he runs his finger down the length of my stomach. “Be a gracious loser.”

“Loser?” I ask with rounded eyes.

“That’s usually what you’re called when you lose a game.”

“I did not lose,” I reply indignantly. “I had fifteen more seconds and—”

“I was already five points ahead of you, kid.” Jamie shakes his head in dismay. “Maybe you’ll have your A game tomorrow?”

“That question doesn’t dignify a response.”

He leans down and kisses me sweetly on the nose. “You’re cute when you’re mad.”

“This is not mad,” I reply tartly. “Trust me. You don’t really want to see me mad.”

  “I might.” He seems intrigued.

His hand moves lower, between my legs, and my eyes close on their own accord. I sigh into the pleasurable feeling.

“Let me make it up to you,” he whispers softly.

His fingers slip inside, and I moan with desire.

I slowly open my eyes and meet his smoky gaze. He’s watching my every move, studying me while he works to make me come. My knee comes up as I give him more access.

His eyes blaze with a look of such ownership that it takes my breath away.

“Jamie?” My voice is breathless, unsure.

“Who is about to make you come?” he whispers.

I whimper as I move into his hand, letting his fingers rub against me in a deliciously perfect way.

“You are.” My voice is soft.

  He continues. “What’s my name?”

I smile widely. “Jamie. Fucking. Donovan.”

  ––––––––––

The sky is ominously grey when I wake up in the morning. I snuggle into the thick white duvet and search for Jamie’s warm, naked body.

  It’s nowhere to be found.

I slowly get up and make my little naked way into the bathroom. It’s empty as well. I quickly take care of business and smile at his thoughtfulness. He’s left a toothbrush, toothpaste, brush, and all the appropriate toiletries for me to get ready for the day. I forgo a shower and brush my teeth and hair. I splash some water on my face and take a good look.

  Not bad.

I look like I had some seriously great sex all night—which I did, by the way—and I hoped I’d be able to get in more rounds before I have to leave for home.

I walk out of the bathroom and look for the T-shirt I had on.

  It’s nowhere to be found.

I search for my own clothes, and they too are no longer in the room. Great. I’m not about to march around downstairs completely nude. Since I’m not too comfortable stepping foot in his closet, I take the sheet from the bed, wrap it around my body, and head downstairs.

The smell of eggs, toast, and possibly hash browns—maybe pancakes—hits me hard, making my stomach growl.

  Seriously?

I was so full from all the food last night, I assumed I’d never want to eat again. I follow the sounds and end up in Jamie’s kitchen.

I hadn’t seen it last night.

  And it is pretty awesome.

It’s a serious chef’s kitchen, like the kind you see on TV, and there is good old Jamie Donovan, cooking behind the stove like an expert chef, flipping pancakes in a pan and all. Except he looks way better than Chef DiSanto… because he’s gorgeous and because he’s wearing the white chef’s apron with nothing else underneath.

  I can come right now.

He must feel the I’m-about-to-get-jumped-by-the-horny-lady vibes because he looks at me right at that moment. The tender look in his eyes makes my heart go crazy.

  He takes in my outfit.

“I am seriously impressed,” I tell him.

“You haven’t tried the food yet,” he responds quickly. “I’m digging your toga.”

I look down at the sheet I’ve draped halfheartedly over my body. “I couldn’t find my clothes anywhere.”

“Of course you couldn’t,” he says easily while he fries tomatoes. He starts to chop basil like a master chef.

Oh my God, he’s getting hotter by the second.

  How is this even possible?

“Can you expand on that cryptic answer?” I say, trying not to dr
ool. I walk to the marble, white countertop and take a seat. I watch him work the kitchen.

He turns around, and I’m given a glimpse of his perfectly muscular ass.

  I lick my lips.

“Your clothes are safely hidden away,” he tells me as he places a fried egg on a heated baguette with melted cheese. He sprinkles diced tomatoes on top and slides the dish over. “Just an appetizer.”

I take a bite before I ask about my clothes. And his.

It would be rude not to.

  Oh. My. God.

I am not kidding. This is the best thing I’ve ever had.

“It’s better than sex,” I whisper to him in ecstasy.

He pulls the plate right back over to his side.

  “Careful.”

“Give it back!” I exclaim and reach for it. When I lean over to make a grab for my food, the sheet slips to the side and exposes a nice portion of my breast.

His eyes smolder. “Delicious,” he whispers sexually.

My face turns red, and I slip the sheet back up to cover my breast. “Can I have my food back?” I plead.

  “You insulted the chef.”

“I complimented the chef!” I argue back.

“The chef happens to be giving you sex as well as food,” Jamie says pointedly. He starts to place perfectly round pancakes on a large platter.

“The chef needs to calm down,” I say, fighting my smile. “Because the chef happens to do everything really extraordinarily well. The chef is multi-talented.”

Jamie slides the plate back over to me. “Bon appétit.”

I take another bite of the yummy food.

  “Coffee?” he asks.

“Please,” I reply and watch as he pours coffee from a French press.

  “How do you take it?”

“Hemp seed milk and date sugar,” I respond without batting an eye.

Jamie stops in his tracks. “Please tell me you’re joking.”

“I’m healthy.” I keep my voice even.

Jamie narrows his eyes for a second, then lets out a relieved breath. “You practically licked the plate of gelato last night,” he says in relief. “I’ve never seen a woman throw down food like that.”

I should be embarrassed, but I’m not. I love food. It’s one of the greatest joys in life, and there is no way in hell I will ever turn my back on it.
