Jasper and Eden had found love in Antarctica of all places. The Nazi treasure vault they’d unearthed was still being catalogued.

Everett and Mary Margaret had escaped a maniacal Colombian drug lord’s widow, saving Nash and Maisey’s son in the process.

Harding and Olivia had both nearly died while trying to rescue her grandparents in Utah’s canyon country. Talk about a nightmare—they’d faced down not only terrorists, but an entire dirty town.

Sawyer and Delilah had united while searching for a serial killer who’d set out to destroy her family’s Colorado rodeo circuit.

Even Briggs and India had to fight international drug lords and a money laundering scheme that had nearly cost their lives.

On this most special of occasions, even members of their extended SEAL family were in attendance—Colby and Rose, who’d met in a plane crash. Brody and Lilianna who’d supported each other through his twin brother’s death. Tanner and Jenny had survived a house fire, only to have their lives go from bad to worse.

Like he and Miranda, all of these couples had found love in the most unexpected—nearly impossible ways. That fact made his eyes sting, welling with tears. He’d never thought of himself as being the overly sentimental type, but now that he was half-owner of a wedding venue and on the verge of becoming a father, maybe it was time for a fresh start.

  Dear Reader—

Thank you for spending time with Miranda and Jackson! Their story wore me out. And those snakes—shudder!

Well over twenty years ago, Hubby and I took our first vacation—after our honeymoon—to a fishing camp on the Louisiana coast. Neither of us fish, but it was a cheap, clean place to stay and put us within an easy drive of lots of fun things to do. Our favorite was driving along a road called Alligator Alley. It was crazy!

We had to stop the car dozens of times for alligators to cross the road—some of them were almost as long as our compact car! All along the road were families who picnicked and fished while small children splashed in the water. I couldn’t imagine how no one got hurt, but they all seemed to get along with the gators.

My best author friend, Margaret Daley, and I tagged a bit of Florida Everglades research onto a recent conference trip. One of our stops was at an alligator sanctuary and during a show we learned that alligators are surprisingly docile. In fact, they aren’t even aware of their surroundings unless touched. The young man performing the show repeatedly placed his hand in the alligator’s mouth, but he mentioned that if so much as one drop of sweat fell onto the gator’s tongue, the creature would have bit with enough force to sever his hand.

We thankfully only saw one snake on our tour, but that was enough! My husband grew up in Arkansas and remembers several times being chased by cottonmouths. He reports that of any snake he’s encountered, they are by far the most vicious.

Hmm…I think I’ll stay inside. LOL! Happy reading!
