One conversation Hogan taped featured Aurelio telling Costello, "right now I want to assure you of my loyalty for all you have done. It's undying." Aurelio explained, "That's just the way some Italians express things," and won election to State Supreme Court that November. He remained there until his death at age eighty-one in 1973.
