Doctor Feel Good: A Novel From The Be Yours Series Page 8

by Saffire, Blue

“What are you wearing? What scent is that?”

  “YSL, L’Homme.”

“Oh my God. I should’ve known.”

  “Do you like it?”

I ignore his question. “Where did you say you’re from?”

He stiffens. It’s brief but I sense it. It strokes my curiosity. Omid has secrets, that much I’m sure of.

“A city within Iran… Shiraz,” he says.

This time I stiffen and turn to look him in the eyes. My heart hurts. Arman was from Shiraz. This is too much. Just the thought of his name cuts me so deep. I can’t do this.

“I think we should call it a night,” I say and go to stand.

He shakes his head at me, pulling me into a kiss. I have to fight the tears back as he devours me in that all-possessive way. Hurt and anger mix.

Arman was always so concerned with me not talking to other boys. On every call he would demand the same. I was his. I wasn’t to give any other boy my attention.

I tell myself he would be pissed to know I’m in the arms of another man. Even if that’s a lie, I want him to hurt for lying to me, for making me fall in love with him then breaking my heart. I turn, hiking up my dress up and straddle his lap. He groans when I suck his tongue into my mouth.

  “Divine,” he says in warning.

  “Yes?”

“Shit,” he growls flipping me onto my back on the couch.

He moves swiftly down my body and tears my panties right off. I gasp and lift my hips toward his face. When he latches onto my nub, I cry out into the room.

“No penetration, but I’m going to feast on you all night,” he says huskily.

I push his head back between my thighs. My main goal is revenge on a man that doesn’t care about me. A man I’ve never met and haven’t spoken to in years.

I don’t have to think as he eats my pussy as if he’s making up for all the wrongs I’ve ever encountered. All I do is feel. Orgasm after orgasm, feeling is all I do. Eventually, I think I begin to feel too much.

  Omid

I brush her hair from her face as she gives me a sleepy smile. I’m in her bed again but I’ve kept my word. I will not sink into her warm heat no matter how much I want to and I want to with everything I am.

I ache for her. I want nothing more than to have those thick thighs wrapped around me while I rock into her tight pussy. I lick my lips and smile as her essence still flavors my mouth.

“You do know this is the point when you’re supposed to leave?” she says, the teasing tilt of her lips stilling my annoyance.

I brush my fingers over her cheek. “I have walked through hell to lie in this very spot. I’m not leaving tonight.”

She gives me a questioning look before shaking her head. “I’m too tired to get up and kick you out so you can stay this time,” she murmurs sleepily.

I scoff and kiss her forehead. “Right.”

“You’re going to stop ignoring what I say. I’ll kick your ass, Omid.”

“I’d rather take a bite of yours,” I croon in her ear and squeeze her back side.

“Shh,” she whispers. “I’m trying to sleep. Don’t make me put you out.”

I chuckle and kiss her collarbone. I go to settle in to get some sleep, but my phone vibrates. I frown. Just my luck. One of my patients would go into labor tonight.

I lift my phone from the nightstand and it’s Navid. Concerned, I look at a sleeping Divine before slipping from the bed and leaving the room to take the call.

  “Hello, what’s wrong?”

“I believe you should call your Anne Sassa. She has interesting news you will want to know.”

I close my eyes and groan. It has to be my mother. I get the feeling she plans to make my life more difficult. I don’t need to call Sassa. I know what she will tell me.

I got sidetracked the night I went to the bar. I had planned to talk to the Blacks about my situation. Joe Black handed my case to his sons a few years back.

I need them to make sure my family can’t find about my life. “I will talk to Wyatt,” I say. “I will also give my uncle a call. I’m sure he can find a way to keep his brother in Iran.”

“Yes, but for how long? They want you to marry Dilshad. Her family will pressure your parents with your known history,” Navid says nervously.

I sigh and rub my eyes. “It’s in my uncle’s best interest to keep them where they are, but I’ll call my mother and see if I can do something as well.”

“Hurry, they’re packed and ready to make their trip.”

I clench my teeth and end the call. Looking at the time it’s 9:41 a.m. in Iran. My parents are up and about their day already. I inhale and dial my mother.

  “Omid!”

  “Hello, Anne.”

“I’m so happy you have called. We have so much to do. I think it will be good for you to spend time with Dilshad. You need to get to know her,” she rambles.

“No. I don’t. I will not be getting to know Dilshad. I am busy with a study,” I say thinking quickly. It isn’t a complete lie. However, it’s not the full truth. I ask Allah for forgiveness as I continue. “I will not be around to entertain. I have travel.”

“Oh. I didn’t think of your busy schedule as doctor. When will this study be over?”

“In a year or so,” I say.

The excitement falls from her voice. “That’s so long. Dilshad will have to wait a year for the wedding?”

“If it takes her parents that long to find a match. Yes. She’s not the one for me. Do not lead that woman into thinking otherwise.”

“She will be just the first of your wives. She’s pretty. She’s very smart—”

“She will not be the first of anything for me. I need rest. I will call you another time.”

She sighs on the other end. I can hear the hesitation. One thing I know, as much as my parents will meddle they both respect the work they believe I do. Me being a doctor is important to them.

“I will let her family know. I hope that we get to see you during the next year.”

“I doubt it. I’ll be very busy. I don’t know when I’ll have free time,” I say.

I run a hand through my hair. I’m skirting so much of the truth. Yes, I’m working on a study. Yes, I will have to travel a bit. However, that traveling will be done within California and maybe as far as Nevada.

“Oh, okay. Well, call me when you can. Rest well.”

  “Thank you.”

I end the call before she can hatch another plan. I will still be making those other calls in the morning. I don’t put it past my parents to still try to make their way here to the States. That I can’t have.

I return to the bedroom and climb into bed. Gently, I tug Divine into my arms. When she snuggles into my chest, I sag into the bed in relief. This is where I need to be.

I finally have what I want. No, I can’t have my parents anywhere near my life. By any means, I will keep that from happening.

  Chapter 10

  Dropping in

  Divine

Laughter rings through the office as my team sits around teasing and joking while we work. I love the chill atmosphere we have. I usually come out of my office, when I’m here, and hang with them while we work, even if it’s just Dada and Terrance.

Dada has been roasting Terrance while I get some new footage ready to post. My stomach hurts from laughing so hard. I swipe at tears in the corners of my eyes.

“Come on dude. Our girl is launching a clothing line. You have to rep the brand. You come in here somedays looking like you rolled out of bed. You have Div’s back and you can keep a schedule tight, but fashionable you are not,” she says.

“Wow, you’re just coming for my neck. All I said was them shoes aren’t your usual style. I didn’t say that was a bad thing,” Terrance retorts

“I saw it in your eyes. You were coming for me,” Dada says and huffs, placing her hands on her hips as she stands up at her desk.

  “It sounds lik
e I’m missing all the fun.” That voice. I close my eyes and try not to shiver as it rolls down my spine.

I turn to find Omid in a pair of scrubs holding a tray of frappes. He puts a hurting on a suit. What he does to these here scrubs should be illegal. He hands Terrance the tray of drinks, pulling two out before walking over to where I’m sitting.

“I’m getting used to you having a man,” Terrance says. “He gets our drinks right too. Don’t mess this up for us.”

“Shut up,” Dada and I say at the same time.

Omid just smiles, carefully placing a drink down next to me. He then leans over me to capture my lips. I try my best not to moan, but when he nips my lips I lose the fight. When he pulls away looking down at me with lust in his eyes, my cheeks heat.

  “Good afternoon, gorgeous.”

“Hey, what are you doing here?”

It’s not like he hasn’t found random reasons to show up at my office. If it’s not my office then it’s my house. For the last few days, we’ve fallen into a routine that he has set. I feel like I’m in a relationship and I’m not even sure how.

“Wanted to see you before I have to head to the hospital. I have two scheduled C-sections,” he says.

“That’s so sweet. I adore you two,” Dada says.

I stand and grab my drink in one hand and Omid’s hand in the other. Once in my office, I close the door behind us. He plucks the drink from my grasp and places it on my desk. In the next motion he has me on his waist, pressed to the wall beside the door as he kisses me senseless.

I wrap my arms around his neck, getting last in the moment. When he slides has hand into my leggings, I jerk back and try to wiggle free. He bites down gently on my neck, pressing his erection into me.

“I just want to make you come. I’ve been thinking about it all morning,” he says in my ear.

He knows that drives me crazy. Whenever he talks in my ear, I nearly come from just his voice. Cupping his handsome face, I bring his lips to mine.

“You made me come this morning in the shower. We’re not doing that with my employees right outside the door,” I say then complete the kiss.

He sucks his teeth, turning to place me on the edge of my desk and stands between my legs. This time he cups my face, mirroring the gesture I’d done just seconds ago. He kisses me briefly before pulling away and planting his palms on either side of me against the desk.

“What should we have for dinner tonight?”

“I can’t keep eating takeout every night.”

He furrows his brows, looking at me questioningly. “When have we had takeout?”

It’s my turn to look at him strange. He’s been bringing dinner to my house every night when he arrives. It’s all been delicious. Always something different and from a different culture.

“When you bring dinner that’s not takeout?”

He gives and deep laugh. “No. We’ve never had takeout. Navid loves to cook. He prepares all my meals. It’s safest that way.”

  “Safest?”

His smile falls and his thoughts race across his face. “I don’t tolerate food from everyone well. Navid knows me best. He protects my tummy,” he says, reaching for my hand and placing it against his tight abs beneath his scrubs.

The look on his face is sexy and adorable. The thought of him needing protection from anyone is laughable. I’m the one that needs help. He leans in for another kiss and I forget what we were initially talking about.

“Navid makes great Thai food or Moroccan cuisine. He makes the best Khubz. You will love it,” he says with his lips pressed to my cheek.

  “Sounds good.”

“I will be at your place around six, unless a little one decides they need a date with me more.”

  We’re not dating.

I’ve been trying my best to tell myself this. I’ve never lied this much in my life. He reaches to brush a lock of hair from my eyes and the expression on his face as he does is one of the things that has drawn me to him.

I’ve had men look at me with want, desire, lust. The way he looks at me is more like I’m someone to cherish, hold, worship. I almost burst into tears from the intensity of it. However, my mind won’t allow me to push aside the warning bells.

“How long can you stay?” I end up blurting out.

On the inside, I know I’m not talking about today. I want to know how long I have before this is just a memory, before he turns into some asshole I never should’ve let in. I need to know the expiration date on these feelings that are growing.

“Let’s order some lunch. Navid can make us something light,” he says with a smile.

  Omid

“That was so good,” Divine says as she wipes her mouth.

I look up from the quick text I just sent to my office assistant. I need to get to the hospital soon, but I love spending time like this with Divine. Dr. Jennings was able to cover for me to have a little more time here before I have to head to the hospital today. However, I’m on schedule soon.

“I will give your compliments to the chef.”

A file on her desk catches my eye. The name of the company seems familiar. I can’t put my finger on it, but it nags me.

I point to the file. “Are you working on something new?”

She follows my gaze and her face lights up. “I’ve been working to get a meeting with this investor for some time now. I finally locked in a lunch with them.”

“Investor? You’re company is doing well, isn’t it? Why would you need an investor?”

  “I—”

Her words are cutoff as a knock sounds on the door. My phone vibrates at the same time. Divine goes to the door and I respond to the text that comes in. I’m disappointed that I have to leave.

However, that file grabs my attention again. I frown. She doesn’t need to sell off pieces of her business. I don’t like the idea at all. From the way she talks about her ventures she’s done great on her own. If she’s in trouble, I’ll give her the capital she needs to get her books in order.

I turn to the door and find Divine has stepped out. Quickly I open the file and spin shots of the pages on top. I want to know more about this investor. I will find out more about Divine’s financials as well.

“I’m sorry,” she says as she returns to the office. “I need to get back to work. I have some buyers I need to conference call with.”

I stand and walk over to her. Palming the side of her face, I kiss her lips. The sweetness from the peach tarts Navid made especially for her flavors her mouth. I groan, not wanting to end this but knowing we both need to get to work.

“I’ll see you tonight. Have a great rest of the day,” I say, lightly brushing my lips back and forth against hers for just a few moments longer.

“See you later,” she says as I release her and head out.

“Thanks for the drinks and lunch,” Dada calls as I leave.

“You’re welcome.” I place a hand over my heart and nod.

“Bro, those sandwiches. Thanks,” Terrance says.

  “Anytime,” I wave and leave.

Navid made extra for Divine’s friends. I would say workers but the more I drop by the more I see that they’re her friends, if not family. Even the part time workers that come in a few times a week.

My mind goes back to the investor. Does she need the money? Is that why she has part-time workers? I assumed it was more because of the fact that she’s not in the office all of the time. Some days she and her two main employees work from her home.

I slip into my car and place a call. I want to have facts. I will not allow my woman to have financial worries.

“Hey, asshat. You bailed on us for that chick. Not that I blame you,” Ryan Black says.

“What’s up, Ry? I need a little favor. I’m going to text you some information. Can you put a file together on the investment company and another on Divine Favors?”

“Yeah, no problem. I’m assuming this is low key since you’re asking me and not Wyat
t,” he says.

“Wyatt has his hands full with me. You can handle this for me. I’ll send a little gift to you for your discretion.”

“Say no more. I love your little gifts,” he laughs and hangs up.

I send him the information in a text and look out toward Divine’s place of business. I don’t like this investment idea. Nothing says she’s struggling but I will get to the bottom of this investor and her thought process.

Feeling a little more at ease, I start for the hospital. I can’t wait until tonight. I look forward to our nights spent together.

I won’t be able to fall asleep until I hear her cries of pleasure. Yet, it’s the time before I crawl between her legs to feast on her. The moments where she reveals little by little who she is as a woman. Brilliant, determined, focused—I love all of this about her.

“By forty, I want to be settled into family life with a thriving business. Me, baby, and the empire,” she murmured the other night while I held her in my arms.

Her, baby, me, and our empire.

That’s the way it will be.

  Chapter 11

  Level Up

  Divine

Omid: Just delivered a baby boy. Need to see you.

Me: Can we meet later? Having that lunch I told you about.

Omid: Where is this lunch? I’ll come to you.

I smile at the message on my phone and shake my head. He has been text messaging me all morning while waiting on that sweet new baby boy. Last night was the first night in two weeks that he hasn’t slept over. Even if he’s exhausted from balancing patients at the office and delivering babies all day, he still shows up at my house with dinner and gifts to shower me with.

The only reason he never showed up last night was because he delivered babies back to back until around 3:00 a.m. By 10:00 p.m., he had Navid deliver roses and dinner with a profuse apologize on his behalf. I surprised myself with how disappointed I was.
