Leo’s grin was beautifully bright. If Grant could, he’d frame Leo’s happiness and hang it on the wall. He’d look at it every day and it’d be the greatest accomplishment of his life.
As the plane circled around to leave, Grant noticed that on the reverse side of the banner, there was an odd imperative.
“Does that mean something?” Grant asked. The words didn’t ring a bell to him.
Leo shrugged. “I don’t know. Maybe it’s a wedding wish from the pilot.”
Grant’s eyes narrowed against the bright light of the sky. Lucky ran up to them, shouting excitedly about the plane, demanding to know what the banner meant. Grant picked her up, and the three of them stood together watching the plane fly into the distance until the words became unreadable.
Then Leo kissed Grant’s cheek, and Lucky struggled down from his arms. A new song filled the silence left by the plane, and Leo and Lucky whooped together as the dancing began again. Grant stared up at the blue, brilliant sky.
After several long moments, Grant turned back to the party, grinning at the sight of his kid and his husband dancing in the grass in front of the barn. Things weren’t perfect. Leo’s health was always going to be fragile. The average life expectancy post heart-transplant wasn’t anything Grant wanted to dwell too long on, even with a new kidney helping out. Still, this farm, these people, and this life was everything to him. It was all his to have and love as long as he could hold on to it.
He threw self-consciousness aside to swoop Lucky into his arms and move to the music with Leo. Clinging to each other, a brand-new family, they laughed and kissed and danced. Through it all, the words on the back of the banner burned through Grant with a fiery hope.

Letter from Leta
Dear Reader,
Thank you so much for reading Stay Lucky! I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Originally released under the same title via my former pen name, Halsey Harlow, this retouched version has been released now under my main nom de plume—your very own Leta Blake!
Be sure to follow me on BookBub or Goodreads to be notified of upcoming and new releases. And look for me on Facebook for snippets of the day-to-day writing life, or join my Facebook Group for announcements and special giveaways. To see some sources of my inspiration, you can follow my Pinterest boards or Instagram.
If you enjoyed the book, please take a moment to leave a review! Reviews not only help readers determine if a book is for them, but also help a book show up in site searches.
Also, for the audiobook connoisseurs out there, many of my other books are now available in audio, narrated by John Solo or Michael Ferraiuolo. I hope to eventually add my entire backlist to my audiobook offerings over the next few years.
Thank you for being a reader!

SLOW HEAT
by Leta Blake
A lustful young alpha meets his match in an older omega with a past.
Professor Vale Aman has crafted a good life for himself. An unbonded omega in his mid-thirties, he’s long since given up hope that he’ll meet a compatible alpha, let alone his destined mate. He’s fulfilled by his career, his poetry, his cat, and his friends.
When Jason Sabel, a much younger alpha, imprints on Vale in a shocking and public way, longings are ignited that can’t be ignored. Fighting their strong sexual urges, Jason and Vale must agree to contract with each other before they can consummate their passion.
But for Vale, being with Jason means giving up his independence and placing his future in the hands of an untested alpha—as well as facing the scars of his own tumultuous past. He isn’t sure it’s worth it. But Jason isn’t giving up his destined mate without a fight.
This is a gay romance novel, 118,000 words, with a strong happy ending, as well as a well-crafted, non-shifter omegaverse, with alphas, betas, omegas, male pregnancy, heat, and knotting. Content warning for pregnancy loss and aftermath.
