Jake shrugged. “It’s mine. It’s addressed to me.”
“You’re probably hurting our evidence,” said Jo with little fight left in her voice. “But fuck it. I want to know what that asshole has to say too.”
Jake ripped open the letter. It wasn’t a long, drawn-out plea for him to retire. Instead, it was more like a warning. “This is the beginning of the end for you, Jake. If you choose it to be.”
Jo looked up at him with worried eyes. “He’s coming after you, Jake.”
“Bring it on, motherfucker.”
