As the sky blazed alive with oranges and yellows and reds and blues, Calder tilted his head and kissed me.
“I love you,” he said, hesitating as though he had never uttered the words before.
“I love you, too.”
He chuckled, sighing out the tension of a moment that I felt went perfectly. Bending down, he kissed me again. Everything felt right. He smiled through his kiss, and when he pulled away, I recognized his dimples for the first time, and I found myself hoping for a lifetime with this fierce, kind, and tender man.
I didn’t know where we were headed. We hadn’t even been on a first date. I was directionless in love, and that was fine by me.

RJ Castiglione has been creating fantasy and contemporary stories since 2017 when he first released book one of the Fjorgyn LitRPG series. Since then, he has expanded his releases to include Steamtown Chronicles, a Gamelit novella serial, and has been published in Scout Media's "Of Words" anthology with the inclusion of "The Jonathan of Bracken Manor."
