“Well, uh, Ranger’s cut has healed really well, so you shouldn’t have to worry about it anymore. He can go back to his regular routine and you don’t need to stop him from getting wet anymore.”

Andrew grinned and took pity on her. She was obviously trying to make a good impression since it was her first week at the clinic. He would have loved to stay and tease her into talking more but would wait until he could get Dan to check her out. Dan was going to love the sexy curve of her ass and her sweet personality. Andrew wondered if Cailynn could be the woman they were trying to find to share between them. He certainly felt an immediate connection to her that he had never felt before with a woman.

“Thanks for looking after Ranger. You’re obviously the right person for this job.” Andrew petted Ranger’s head as he attached his lead. He tried to sound casual. “You know, the little diner downtown called The Cottage makes a great breakfast. A lot of folks go there on the weekend. You should give it a try and meet some of the locals.”

“Oh, is that the place downtown that’s painted lime green?” Cailynn asked.

“Yep. They have good food in general, but breakfast is particularly tasty,” Andrew told her. And I know the owner, who I can get to call Dan or me if you show up on Saturday or Sunday.

“Well, thanks for the tip. I guess I should check it out sometime.” Cailynn smiled professionally again. “Ranger’s lucky to have two guys who take such good care of him.”

Andrew thanked Cailynn again and allowed her to escort him out of the exam room. He watched her retreat behind the reception desk, able to enjoy ogling her ass since no one was around to catch him. After admiring the view as long as it was in sight, he collected Ranger and headed out to the truck to go home.

Cailynn watched Andrew Harris leave. Cailynn was amazed she had been able to speak to the man without tripping over her own tongue. Andrew Harris was seriously hot. He was tall. She figured he must have been over six feet, with dark-brown hair and pale-blue eyes. He was clean-shaven with a square jaw and a broad smile that lit up his eyes. He was also nicely muscled, not over the top like some steroid-taking bodybuilder, but lean and fit. He wore a dark-green T-shirt that clung to his pecs like a second skin, and a pair of blue jeans that looked like they were made for him. Watching him leave, she saw that the jeans hugged his fine ass perfectly. He’s a client, stop thinking naughty thoughts! she told herself firmly.

She wondered who could have thought the brothers were geeky. If Dan looked anything like Andrew, they could both star in the next action-hero movie. And who was to say that being smart was bad? After Martin’s rather lackluster brains, she could go for a man that could do more than lose at gambling and watch TV.

Cailynn didn’t understand why this gorgeous man had made small talk with her. He must be trying to be nice because his brother does business here, she thought. She hoped she had been able to keep up her professional demeanor, despite the dampness of her panties. He even smelled fabulous, like wood smoke and some sort of manly soap. She sighed. Just thinking about him made her wet all over again. It was a good thing it was almost time to go home for the day.

  Chapter 2

The next week passed quickly for Cailynn as she got used to the routine at the clinic. She spent most of the following Saturday arranging her apartment to suit herself and giving it a better cleaning than the last person that lived there. She was lucky it came furnished, as her last place was furnished as well. She didn’t have a lot of stuff, since paying Martin’s way as well as her own didn’t leave much extra money to spend on home décor. She guessed that turned out to be a good thing—everything she owned fit into her car, and she got away from Martin in one trip. She did want a few things for her place to make it a bit homier, but she would have to wait for a paycheck or two before purchasing them.

She decided to treat herself on Sunday. She would spend a little money at The Cottage for breakfast and then check out the big park along the waterfront of the bay. She lived downtown, so she walked over to the restaurant early on Sunday morning. She had hoped by going early it wouldn’t be too crowded, and she was right. Less than a third of the tables were occupied, so she slipped into a small table for two along the side.

Shortly after the waitress poured her coffee, she looked up to see Andrew entering the restaurant with another man who could only be his brother, Dan. They had the same pale-blue eyes, but Dan’s hair was longer and more of a sandy-brown color. Dan also had a small goatee. Cailynn was not normally a fan of facial hair, but the goatee looked particularly sexy on him. He was a bit shorter than Andrew, but looked just as nicely muscled. They both had on well-worn jeans that showed off their muscled thighs, but while Andrew was in his customary T-shirt, Dan had on a buttoned-up red plaid flannel top.

Holy crap, they’re both unbelievably hot. Cailynn wasn’t sure whether she wanted them to notice her or not. She couldn’t deny her attraction to them. Her nipples had hardened, and her pussy got damp as soon as she saw them, but she couldn’t quite bring herself to believe she would have a chance with one or the other.

Dan couldn’t believe their luck. They were already heading in to town for breakfast when Bruce, one of the owners of The Cottage, had called to say he thought a woman matching Cailynn’s description had arrived. He had been hoping that she would take the hint Andrew dropped and show up at the diner some morning. Then he and Andrew could corner her and get to know her a bit better. They got there before Cailynn had ordered, so the two of them immediately sauntered over to her table.

“Now, this is far too small for the three of us,” Andrew said, gesturing to the table with his best charming smile. “We’ll have to move over to one of the booths if we’re going to be comfortable.”

  “Pardon?” Cailynn sounded confused.

Dan spoke. “This table won’t fit breakfast for the three of us, sweetheart. Really, look at it—can you imagine three large plates, coffee, and juice on this tiny little thing?” Dan reached down and grabbed her coffee mug as Andrew pulled back her chair and helped her from her seat. “We need to go over to one of the booths so we can all be comfortable while we eat.” Dan and Andrew bracketed Cailynn and moved her across the restaurant to a semi-circular booth where they sandwiched Cailynn between them.

When Andrew had told Dan about Cailynn, Dan was surprised. Andrew was usually the more cautious one of the two of them. For Andrew to be insisting on Dan meeting Cailynn so soon, he must be thinking she was something special. Looking at her, he thought Cailynn had all the physical attributes they loved in a woman—sexy curves, sparkling eyes, and a very kissable mouth. Dan thought she was looking particularly cute right now as she sputtered and resisted a little as they walked her to their new table.

If she had the personality Andrew thought she did, then they were going to have to make her theirs. He’d said she seemed sweet and caring toward both Andrew and Ranger in the appointment. Andrew also said she was warm and friendly, and even though she was a bit flustered, she kept her professional demeanor intact. Dan hoped they could get her to consider a ménage. He wondered if they could get Lisa to help convince her of the benefits of two men.

“I wasn’t, I mean, you don’t have to—” Cailynn couldn’t seem to form a coherent sentence.

“Surely you’re here for breakfast,” Andrew said. “It is early and though the coffee is good, you really need more than that to start your day. Besides, we know you’re new to town, so who else would you sit with?”

Cailynn took a deep breath and gave them a little smile. “I’m okay to have breakfast on my own. You don’t need to worry about me.”

“We’re not worrying. We’re just happy to enjoy breakfast with a lovely woman. Andrew’s generally good company, but you’re much better looking and probably more interesting as well,” Dan said with a grin as they got Cailynn seated in the booth and placed a menu in front of her. He enjoyed the blush on her cheeks that formed in response to his complime
nt.

Cailynn was quiet as she studied the menu. She seemed to have given up on going back to her little table. “Don’t you need a menu?” she asked when they studied her without bothering to pick up one for themselves.

“We know what we want,” said Andrew firmly as he looked directly into her eyes. Dan knew Andrew was talking about more than breakfast. He hoped Cailynn would get the hint, too. She glanced over at Dan as he looked at her intently as well.

“Oooo-kay.” Cailynn apparently was not going to take their bait. “I’ll have the pancakes, please,” she replied to the waitress’s request for their orders.

“Hungry man special for us, Gina dear,” requested Andrew. “Have you met Cailynn? She’s just started at Three Pines.”

“Nice to meet you, sweetie.” Gina smiled at Cailynn. “My husbands ,Bruce and Owen, and I own this place. If you need any help finding your way around, let me know. We try to help each other out around here.”

“I’ll definitely keep that in mind,” Cailynn replied politely.

Dan sat back to watch Cailynn as they ate breakfast together. He and Andrew chatted with her, trying to gently get to know her a bit better.

“So Cailynn,” Andrew started. “What brought you to Hardwick Bay?”

“Well, I didn’t have a full-time job as a tech in the city, so when I saw the opening here I thought I’d apply. I love working as a tech so it was a no-brainer to try to find a permanent job.” Cailynn’s happiness about working was reflected in the spark in her eyes.

“Did you pick Hardwick Bay specifically?” Dan asked.

“No, they just happened to be advertising. I think I’m going to be happy here though. It seems like such a nice place. Have you two lived here all your lives?”

“Nope,” answered Andrew. “I met Mike and Craig in university and we became good friends. They were born and raised here and when Dan and I visited them we realized we really liked the place.”

“Yeah,” added Dan. “It’s beautiful and has the small-town friendly thing going for it. And, as I’m sure you found out, it has a high tolerance for alternative lifestyles. In fact, Mike and Craig have two fathers.” Dan was tempted to say more about their desire for a ménage, but he decided to wait.

“Well I can’t argue with any of that,” Cailynn said. “I really like being close to the woods and water. They bay is really beautiful. Do you two spend a lot of time outdoors?”

“It’s hard not to when you live here,” Dan noted with a grin.

“We certainly hike and canoe, and we have a boat that we use on the bay,” added Andrew. “What about you?”

“I haven’t had much of a chance to do anything on the water. I always lived in the city. I like walking in the parks and conservation areas, but I haven’t hiked anywhere other than that. Are the trails around here marked and mapped? I wouldn’t mind exploring some.” Cailynn seemed enthusiastic to take advantage of the outdoor adventures that Hardwick Bay offered.

Cailynn seemed to relax and enjoy herself as their conversation continued. It appeared as though she became almost comfortable with them. She was obviously interested, which he took as a good sign. Her nipples were hard and she was shifting in her seat as if she was trying to relieve an ache in her clit. He was certainly hard as a rock through the meal and he was willing to bet Andrew was as well. Cailynn was a delight to be with—she was smart, funny, and caring. They found her to be open and willing to talk as she relaxed a bit with them, but they noted she didn’t have a lot to say about any past relationships. When she excused herself to go to the ladies’ room, Dan spoke first.

“You’re right, she’s a gem. I can’t explain the bond I feel with her, even though we’ve just met. I’d love to get her to spend the rest of the day with us. Maybe the night, too. I’m in a fair amount of discomfort here.” He adjusted his pants to relieve the pressure on his erect cock. He had been hard ever since they sat down together.

“I knew you’d say that, but I think that’s pushing her too hard. She’s so innocent, I doubt she even heard of a ménage before coming to Hardwick Bay. It doesn’t mean we can’t set up a time to see her again, though. She needs to know we’re serious about getting closer to her.” Andrew always tried to rein in his brother. Dan would have Cailynn moved in with them tomorrow if he thought he could get away with it. “I feel the connection to her, too,” Andrew admitted.

“She seems to like the outdoors, let’s take her hiking on Saturday and to Lisa’s barbeque,” Dan suggested.

  “Sounds good.”

“I wish we could get her to our house.” Dan grinned as he thought of Cailynn in their house. He thought she would look particularly good splayed out naked on the large bed in the master suite, her lips plumped from kissing and ready to take his cock in her mouth.

“Calm yourself, slick. I can see where your mind is going.” Andrew always could read Dan’s mind when it came to women.

“Where is he going?” Cailynn asked as she slipped back into the booth.

“Nowhere right now, sweetie,” Dan said. “But next Saturday, you’re going hiking with us. We know a great spot to show you. We’ll pick you up at one and we’re going to a barbeque afterward.”

Cailynn tried to put them off. “Oh, look, you’re being really nice, but-”

“No buts,” Andrew stated. “We’re interested in getting to know you better, Cailynn. Both of us. Don’t try to tell me you’re not interested, that you don’t feel something, too. I’m not going to buy it. We’re going out for some fresh air and fun—what have you got to lose?”

“I’d love to know what’s going through your head right now, sweetie.” Dan was curious as Cailynn’s expression changed from a little frown to one of determination. “What do you have to say?”

“I’ll see you at one on Saturday then,” Cailynn replied.

  Chapter 3

“So, how are you settling in?” Sharon asked Cailynn as she started her first of several surgeries on Tuesday morning.

“Good, I think,” replied Cailynn, setting up the anesthetic monitoring equipment. “At least, I’m really happy working here. You’re all so nice and easy to get along with.” Cailynn felt that she was becoming friends with the other women that worked at the clinic.

“I’m glad to hear that.” Sharon laughed. “It would really suck if you thought we were all bitches all the time. We’re really happy with your abilities, and you fit in well with us.”

“I’m glad that I had the job at the emergency clinic so I didn’t lose all my skills from school. It’s easy to get really rusty when you’re not doing stuff like putting in catheters or monitoring anesthetic all the time.”

“That’s for sure. After a week of holidays, I almost feel like I have to learn how to do surgery all over again. Well, not quite, but you know what I mean.” By the way her eyes were crinkling, Cailynn could tell that Sharon was smiling behind her surgery mask. “By the way, I was really impressed that you found the abnormal cells in that sample from Shaggy’s lump yesterday. He’s scheduled to have it off later this week and it’s small enough that it hopefully won’t have spread anywhere else.”

“Thanks. I’m glad his owners are getting it taken off. I have to admit, I was pretty impressed with myself that I was able to identify those cells. It’s been a long time since cytology class.” They both laughed.

“I know you haven’t been here long, but have you met anyone around town yet?” asked Sharon.

“Well, I met Gina who owns The Cottage on the weekend.” Cailynn stalled a bit as she checked her patient’s blood pressure. “I also met Andrew and Dan Harris while I was there having breakfast.”

Hanna, the head tech, poked her head around the corner into the surgery room. “I heard you had breakfast with the Harris boys, girl. That’s a little more than ‘I met them.’ Are you seeing them again?”

“What’s this?” Lisa rounded the corner as well. “Two weeks here and she’s already got a date? I’m impressed.”

Cailynn blushed bright red. “They’re being nice and asked me to go hiking on Saturday, probably because I said I liked being outdoors but didn’t get to hike very much in the city. They’re taking pity on me so I don’t get lost.”

“Well that works out well then,” Lisa stated with her customary bubbly enthusiasm. “They’re supposed to be coming over to our house for a barbeque on Saturday with a few other friends, so they can bring you along since you’re invited anyway. Hanna and Sharon are coming, too.”

“Wow, thanks for the invitation,” Cailynn said gratefully. “What can I bring?”

“Just you and your men. We’ve got the food covered,” said Lisa.

Cailynn blushed again. “They’re not my men, they’re just being nice. Really.”

“The Harris brothers are pretty straight up guys, and they haven’t been seeing anyone for a while,” stated Lisa firmly. “If they’re interested in you, they’ll say so. Why wouldn’t they be interested anyway? You’re good looking and smart, and a nice person.”

“You should listen to Lisa,” Sharon chimed in. “She’s lived here long enough that she knows most of the town and all their business.”

Cailynn felt as though her face would never return to a normal color. Hadn’t Andrew said they were interested in her? Both of them, too. They had asked her to go out with them so what did she have to lose?

My heart, Cailynn had immediately thought. She couldn’t deny the attraction, but she was worried that these two just seemed too good to be true. She had always seen herself married in the future, with a home and children, but her time with Martin made that seem like a pipe dream. Screw Martin. I’m not going to let him ruin my future. Why can’t I go out and have some fun next weekend? Cailynn was still not sure about the whole ménage thing long-term, but a date wasn’t a lifetime commitment.
