Megan pointed to the two doors at the back of the cabin. “What’s in there?”
“A bathroom with a shower and a bedroom with a super comfortable bed.”
She turned to him, stunned that he’d done all of this. “Why?”
He stuck his hand into his leather jacket pocket and withdrew a small box.
When he went down on one knee and took her left hand, Megan brought her other one to her mouth. Everyday she’d been with him, she’d fallen more and more in love with Luke. He was everything she’d dreamed of.
“Megan Witherspoon, I love you. Will you marry me?”
Words clogged her throat, all her feelings for Luke swamping her. She knelt in front of him. “I love you.” She put her arms around him and leaned forward. She brushed her mouth over his then kissed him with all her love in it. When she finally pulled back, she said, “Yes,” and held up her left hand for him to slip on her engagement ring.
He embraced her and lowered his head toward hers.
Shep barked.
Startled, Megan drew back. “A bear? Now.”
Shep walked over to them and laid his head on Luke’s arm hugging Megan.
He laughed. “That’s Shep’s stamp of approval. Now all we need to get is Lady’s.”
Megan laughed. “I have a feeling we already have that. She follows you around everywhere.”
