Can't Resist You (Being Yours Series Book 4) Page 10

by Dawn Martens

“Oh fuck no.” I jog out of the room and head for the front door, swinging it open. Tara’s car is gone, and as I get closer to the end of the driveway, I see her tail lights down the street. Leaning over, I put my hands on my knees.

“Seems like we both lost her,” Keller says smugly from behind me, a smirk in his voice.

Whirling around I send him a look that has the smirk falling off his face. “You know what, fuck you. I love Tara, is that what you want to hear? How I want to marry her, knock her up with my kids, spend my life with her. And because of your stupid bullshit in the kitchen, wanting to fight like a child, she’s gone. But no, Keller, we didn’t lose her. You never had her in the first place, I on the other hand am going to hunt her down and drag her back home by her hair if I have to.”

Keller looks shocked by what I just said. “I’m sorry, man.”

“You can be sorry by giving me anything that could help, you were with her for six months not including all the months you just spent on the road, do you know anything about her besides her family being the Angels Warriors?” his face pales.

“Fuck me, how could I forget she was close to the Angels?” He scrubs a hand over his face in defeat. Asshole probably forgot because Tara was never a goddamn priority for him. “Tina, she has a friend named Tina, hot bitch, easy lay, and I say that because I fucked her a month after I hooked up with Tara, and about ten more times since,” He confesses, looking somewhat ashamed, probably for the first time in his life.

With friends like that, who needs enemies, this Tina definitely won’t be a friend anymore once I talk with Tara. And Keller just once again proved how much of a piece of shit he is.

“You got a last name for her, an address? Anything?”

“Uh, yeah, she lives on Ross Street, just by the Circle K, the place looks like a house, but it was converted into studio apartments.”

He gives me the house number and I text it to the station, telling them to get me any info they can about the girl that lives there. “I’m leaving, and by the time Tara and I get back, I want all your shit gone. And I mean that, Keller, we’ve been friends for over ten years, but this is it. I don’t need your fucked-up shit in my life, and Tara sure as hell doesn’t deserve the shit you put her through either.”

His jaw twitches. “All the shit I put her through? She didn’t even know, so I didn’t put her through shit, she also cheated on me, or do you not remember getting your dick wet in the kitchen about an hour ago?”

I shake my head and walk away. I’m done with his messes.

  Chapter 29

  Tara

Tina throws open her door as I get off the elevator to her apartment. “Girl, I have missed you, ever since you moved we haven’t seen each other much, I think the last time was when we watched Stranger Things a few months back.” She scolds while bear hugging me.

“I know, I’m sorry, I’m such a shitty friend. Can we go inside to talk, I have so much to fill you in on.” She pulls back from the hug, and a worried look covers her face.

“Yeah, of course.” She lets me walk ahead of her into her place. Shutting the door and locking it, she turns around. “Okay, spill, what’s going on.”

I sit on her couch and toss my bag and purse to the floor. “I’ve been sleeping with Drew.”

Her eyes pop open in shock, “What?! Why are you now just telling me this? What about Keller?”

She drops to the floor in front of me, looking like a little kid waiting for story time and it makes me laugh. I start to fill her in on everything. My feelings for Drew, us together while Keller’s been gone, to finding out he had been cheating on me the whole time, to which she flinches, then to the whole baby mama drama that has her floored.

When I finish, ending it with what happened in the kitchen, she just stares at me in silence. “I just, I, wow. I have no words. Fuck, I’m sorry, Tara. I should have tried harder, forced us to get together, something.” She gets up and hugs me tight, my tears dropping on her shoulder.

“I love him,” I whisper into her hair.

Her arms tighten around me. “Who? Keller or Drew?” she sounds hesitant to find out the answer, I really need to ask her what on earth is going on.

“Drew of course, but it’s all so fucked up.” Moving out of the embrace I get up from her couch and start pacing. “What Keller did wasn’t right, not even a little, but what Drew and I did, it’s just as bad. I’m a cheater. I was a twenty-five-year-old virgin, who never had a boyfriend, and all of a sudden I cheat on my first ever boyfriend. Who does that shit?”

Tina gets off the floor and goes to come to me, but someone starts knocking on her door making it sound as if someone is gonna kick her door in. “Who on earth?” she says sounding confused as she starts heading for the door. “Who are you? What are you doing here?” she asks, her voice loud and shrill. . I hear someone speak, but can't make out a voice or what is said, and Tina replies again, “You need to leave; she doesn’t want to see you right now.” Shit.

“Tara, I know you’re here, and if you don’t get your guard dog out of the way, I’m not afraid to knock her down to get to you.” Holy shit, Drew found me. How? I don’t think I ever talked about Tina to him, except that one time he overheard me talking to her on the phone months ago. Doubt he even remembered she existed, unless Keller did something good for once and told him. It wasn’t that I was hiding her from him, we were always too busy doing and talking about other things. Discussing friendships wasn’t ever really high on our list of things to chat about.

I look to Tina, and I see her looking defeated. Moving out of his way, once he’s inside, she closes the door.

“What are you doing here Drew?”

He crosses his arms as he stands in front of me. “I’m here to bring you home. There is nothing wrong with us. I love you, I want to marry you one day, have kids with you. How we went about it, wasn’t great, I get where you’re coming from. But it’s us Tara, as shitty as our relationship started, it’s us, we’re forever.”

Tears well up in my eyes, and a sob comes up my throat at his words, but it’s not enough. “I’m a cheater now though, I.”

Drew cuts me off, looking pissed as his arms grab mine, giving me a slight shake. “You need to stop beating yourself up over this. Everything is out in the open now, you’re right, how we went about it was wrong, but you and I, we’re not wrong. Hell, you even admitted to me that you never really wanted Keller, so stop it, stop beating yourself up over something that can never be changed.”

He’s right. I love him, I want a life with him.

A throat clears behind us, and Tina looks ticked. “Sweet words and all but wasn’t it also you that knew the entire time that he was cheating on her?” There she is, my girl defending me, but right now, she doesn’t need to. Before I can speak up, Drew’s body goes tight, rage flows through him and he turns her way, leaving me in his arms feeling confused as hell.

“You wanna go there? Fine, how about the fact that you’ve been fucking Keller for the last few months.” My body goes still, my face pales as I look to Tina, who’s looking as if she’s about to pass out.

  “What?” I whisper.

Drew turns to me with a sad look on his face. “After you left, I forced Keller to help me find you, he spilled all about Tina.”

“I may not have loved Keller, but I cared for him, and you knew that. How could you do this to me, Tina?” I ask her, how could she be my friend and do that?

She doesn’t even have to speak, her face says it all, but she still does. “It wasn’t supposed to happen, the first time at least. It was a mistake, and I felt sick over it. But then you would bitch about Keller, talking about how you didn’t love him, so I stopped feeling guilty. But then it happened again, and again. And well, you get the picture.” She starts to smirk, her voice starting to edge towards smug. No matter what I did, no matter how wrong I was with the relationship, she was my friend, my best friend. Did I ever really know her? Why would she do this to me?<
br />
“That’s why you wouldn’t ever get together with us, wasn’t it? Cuz you were sleeping with him. It wasn’t just me being a shit friend and not managing to get together, it was you too.” Then something dawns on me. “Oh my God. He was the one you told me about months ago. He was the one that took you for the abortion.” Drew’s body goes still, anger vibrating off him.

Tina’s face goes pale again, losing its smugness and nods. “He said he loved you and didn’t want to fuck up again,” she tells me quietly.

Makes sense, what with him knocking up his side piece while he was dating his last girlfriend. My god, what an idiot I’ve been.

Drew’s had enough of our chat and finally cuts in. “We can blame each other and about fifty other people until the cows come home, but this is done. I knew what Keller was doing, hell I knew what he was doing when he was with his ex. I told him repeatedly he was gonna get caught, and I was fucking sick of him. I didn’t purposely set out to steal Tara. You—Tina, what you did, was different. And we all know that. Fuck, I have a list of married men you purposely set your sights on, and I will gladly get into those names if you wanna try and defend yourself right now.” She flinches and turns her head to the side. He turns to me, using his thumbs to wipe the tears from my face. “We’re going home, and if you don’t come with me right now, I will just have to kidnap you. Keller’s gone, you and I can be just that, you and me. Forever.”

His lips come down on mine and then he pulls back. “Okay, I’ll come home.” He smiles and gives me a wink. “By the way, I love you too,” I whisper.

Grinning he comes in for another quick kiss. “I know.”

I grab my bag and purse from where I tossed them on Tina’s floor and look to her before leaving. “I wish you would have told me, I wish I could have been good enough for you to come to about whatever has you so fucked up you’d doing something like this, to me.” It hurts to even look at her right now. “I hate to lose your friendship, because you’ve been my only friend, but as of now, I don’t want to see you again. Ever again.” Tears fall down her face as Drew grabs my arm and yanks me out.

Hopefully this is the worst of it, and tomorrow will at least bring the start of all things good.

  Chapter 30

  Drew

Once we’re home, I see Keller’s car is gone, and relief floods me. “This is the last time, Tara. You don’t run from me again. Swear to fuck I’ll spank you and then chain you to the bed, you pull this shit again.”

“Drew, I promise, I won’t do it again.”

“Good,” I mutter as we get out of the truck and head into the house. “Got one of the officers going to get your car, it’ll be here later tonight. Didn’t want you to worry.”

She smiles at me. “Drew, I wasn’t worried, you always look out for me.” That remark shoots me straight in the chest.

  “God, I love you.”

She shakes her head. “Not as much as I love you.”

I give her ass a small smack and pull her into the living room. “Everything that’s happened tonight, we should talk.” I hate that she had to find out about her friend Tina. That gutted her, way more than any of the shit with Keller did.

“No, Drew, I’m over it. I want to move past this, move on, and just be us. It kills that I lost Tina, but for her to do that, she was no friend.”

I give her hand a squeeze. “Glad you got that, but just saying, it’s still fresh in your head, we should talk it out. Work through it.”

She shifts and swings herself into my lap, putting her hands on my face. “You don’t get it, Drew. I’m good. Seriously. I said what I needed to say to her already, I worked it out on my own, but if you wanna continue to work it out, we can, but it won’t be through talking. It will be with you fucking me so hard I can’t breathe.”

She pulls my head down, kissing me while undoing the belt on my jeans. “I need you Drew,” she whispers.

“Babe, you have me.” I tell her, helping her out, as we quickly shed our clothing, which land on the damn cat who is not happy.

She pulls me down the hall, practically jogging to our bedroom and shoves me to the bed and climbs into my lap.

We fall back, her hair going into her face as she grinds on top of me. “I love you, Drew.” She tells me as she moves a hand between us to put me inside her.

“I love you too, Tara.” I groan as she plants herself fully on me.

She rocks on top of me, hands on my chest. Her tits bouncing as she moans. I sit up so I can suck her nipples, she can’t expect me to just lay back watching her. The show is enjoyable but right now, I’ll be damned if she does all the work, causing me to blow my load too quickly. “You have ten minutes before I take over.” I tell her, my lips coming off her.

She uses my shoulders as leverage, grinding down on me harder and faster. She finds release quickly and I flip her onto her back and take over. “You’re gonna come again, this time with me.” I tell her as she rocks with me. I kiss her, our tongues moving together. One hand squeezing her tit, the other underneath her to find her asshole.

Her hips buck off the bed when I plant a finger inside her, and she moans into my mouth.

Ten minutes later, we lay next to each other, covered in sweat. “I should go get cleaned up.” She tells me, her head resting on my chest.

“No, you sleep with my cum inside you tonight. I don’t give a fuck about the wetness.” I tell her, not wanting her to move away from me.

“Okay baby.” She replies, as a yawn takes over. We lay in silence and I feel her body start to relax even more than it already is.

Once I feel her breath evening out, I know she’s fully asleep I slip out of bed, opening the top drawer of my dresser and pull out the ring box. Flipping it open I grab the ring, the ring my grandmother left to me when she passed away, and move back to the bed, climbing back under the covers. I check again, making sure that Tara is fully asleep and grab her hand, slipping the ring on her finger.

Smiling as I look at the ring sitting on her finger, I lay back down. She might be annoyed at not even being asked, but she’s gonna be my wife, and I’m not giving her the chance to say no, or to say she’ll think about it. I will myself to fall asleep knowing that tomorrow is gonna be another battle with Tara, once she notices that ring on.

She knows she can’t resist me, but it sure is fun watching her try.

  Epilogue

  Five years later

  Drew

Life is fucking perfect, after the bullshit with Keller and Tara’s friend Tina, I wasted no time in marrying Tara.

I didn’t have to do much, placed a phone call to her family, and within a month we were hitched. And instead of Angel, Zippo, and Reaper fighting over who got to walk her down the aisle, they all did. I swear them doing that had her in tears before she even walked in the church. I knew she was struggling with who to even ask, and they didn’t want to make the choice hard for her so that was the solution. A year after that, we had our first child. And just three months ago she gave birth to our second son.

Tara’s been moodier than usual the last few weeks, and I’m pretty sure I know why. Let’s hope she doesn’t kill me when she finds out.

Haven’t heard from neither Keller nor Tina since that night years ago, but it doesn’t mean we haven’t seen them around or read about them in the papers.

Tina, last time she was spotted, was getting the shit beat out of her by a woman who was screaming at her about sleeping with her husband. I didn’t bother stepping in, bitch deserved that smack down.

And as for Keller, his baby mama got into a drunk driving accident, and is currently spending the rest of her life in jail. Not only did she endanger their daughter who was in the back seat, but she killed the family she hit. Keller now has to raise his daughter by himself, and I’m sure he’s struggling with it.

Wish I could help him out, we were friends for years, but those bridges were burned. And they should have been burned way before Tara ever entered the picture.

I’m in the kitchen making breakfast for my family and heating up a bottle when Tara enters the kitchen, looking a little green. I smile as she looks ready to kill someone.

  Tara

I stumble into the kitchen with my stomach still upset and make my way to the fridge. “Babe, you okay?”

“You know how much I hate you right now?” I glare at my husband.

  “Tara,” he warns.

“Drew, I just gave birth three months ago. How the fuck did this happen?” I shout at him and he grins. That jackass.

“I ain’t gonna complain. And I don’t wanna hear you complain either. We got two kids, what’s one more?” Oh that smug prick.

“You wanna push a giant baby out of your dick hole? I think not. It’s me that has to do it.”

  “Tara, shut up.”

“Don’t you tell me to shut up,” I snap at him.

“I love you,” he tells me, instantly my mood brightens.

“I love you too, Drew,” I reply back, softly. He pulls me into his arms for a kiss. “This one better be a girl though.”

“Fuck that,” he replies. “Don’t need a mini you, I’d have to buy more guns.”

  I smile. “Shut up.”

I rest my head on his chest, and it’s then the kids start squawking from their rooms. “I’ll get’em,” he says, kissing my forehead and moves away from me.

It was a rough and messy road, getting here. But I’m glad I didn’t resist the pull of Drew. He’s my forever.
