Between the Sheets Page 14

A startled Derek turns to meet three pairs of eyes on him. Damn, D. He was obviously asking me if she was already gone. Hopefully Lauren didn’t catch on that he was asking about her.

“Uh, I had asked Ellie to meet one of my friends at the diner. I was wondering if she had left yet,” Derek responds as he takes steps to meet us in the living room.

Lauren turns to face me with a dubious look. I smile nervously at her. “We’ll talk later,” she mouths.

Fuck, D. Now Lauren thinks I had a date I didn’t tell her about.

“Shit, where are my manners. Hey, man. I’m Derek,” he says, holding out his hand in front of Kev.

“Hey, it’s a pleasure to meet you. Kev,” Lauren’s man answers as he takes Derek’s hand in his and the two guys shake.

When they pull away, Derek’s seductive stare lands on me, and I swear, I’ve just drenched my panties. How the fuck does he manage to do that to me with one sexy glance? I have to quickly look away before I grab him by the hand in front of everyone and excuse the two of us while we march toward my room and lock the door behind us. Fuck, I want him so much right now.

“Well, dinner’s ready, and since we’re all finally here, why don’t we get seated at the table. There’s a reason why I invited Kevin to finally meet you guys tonight,” Lauren states.

“Yes, let’s do that,” Kev says, smiling at Lauren.

  She blushes and smiles back.

The four of us make our way to the table in the kitchen, which has already been set and prepared for us. Lauren took a ton of time getting tonight ready. It’s like she’s getting ready to make some kind of announcement. Maybe she’s moving in with him, and I can stay in this apartment alone with D. God, that would be so fucking awesome.

Derek and I take a seat across from one another as Kev takes one of the other seats. Lauren is still standing, pulling out a bottle of champagne from the fridge. Odd choice right now. She hardly ever drinks champagne. Maybe this is another one of Kev’s favorites.

“Champagne, Sis? Really?” Derek asks, as she hands him the bottle for him to pop open.

“Yeah, Derek. Special occasions and celebrations deserve celebratory champagne,” Kev says, then winks at Lauren. She goes to stand next to Kev, as Derek stands up to open the bottle.

Once he has it open, he hands it back to Lauren. She fills four flutes with an even amount of the alcoholic beverage and asks us to raise our glasses.

She really is moving in with him. I’m beyond thrilled of the thought of acquiring so much more alone time with her hunk of a brother. Fucking delicious.

“What’s going on, Laur,” Derek asks with his smug grin.

  Yum. Sexy.

Lauren takes in a deep breath and giggles. “Okay, here goes.”

“Go ahead, baby,” Kev says, encouraging her. He places a kiss on the side of her head.

“Last night, the most wonderful thing happened. This man, this wonderful man that I get to call mine got down on one knee and proposed to me! We’re getting married!” Lauren exclaims.

I’m shocked. Married? Lauren had always said she would never marry a man before she got a chance to live with him and see what he was really like. Shit. I wasn’t expecting this. And how the fuck had I not noticed until now that enormously blinding rock sitting on the fourth finger of her left hand?

“What?! That’s wonderful, Sis. Congratulations!” Derek exclaims, placing his glass down and rising from his seat. He heads over to his sister and embraces her.

Instantly, I do the same, rising up, snapping out of my daze. “Lauren! Oh my God! Congratulations, you two!” I also place my cup down and head over to where they are.

I’m super close to Derek right now, I can smell his godly cologne.

“Thank you,” the soon-to-be wed couple states in unison.

“Oh my God, let me see this ginormous stone about to take down your hand, geez,” I say, grabbing her hand.

She chuckles, and I smile in amazement.

“Wow, it’s beautiful, Laur. Nicely done, Kev. Props to you,” I say, glancing over at him. He nods, smiling.

Which makes me wonder if they’ve already selected a wedding date…

“Well, there’s one more thing,” Lauren announces. “Please sit for this one, guys.”

Uh-huh. There it is. I know my best friend. I knew there was no way she would have agreed to marry anyone without first living with them. This is when she tells us she’s going to move out and move in with her new fiancé.

“Amazing, Lauren. I’m so happy for you. I’m going to miss you around here,” I say.

She looks at me like I’ve got two heads. “What are you talking about, Ellie?”

Derek and Kev look over at me. Shit. Had I said something wrong?

“You’re moving out, no?” I ask.

Derek coughs, and it’s probably because he knows exactly what my thoughts had been.

“Moving out? No! Of course, not. No, not yet anyway. I mean, eventually, I will be moving in with Kev, but not before we’re married.” She shakes her head. “I know, I know. That was something I said I always wanted to do, but with Kevin, I don’t feel like I need to do that, you know? I feel like I’ve made the right choice.” They share a loving look followed by another innocent kiss, this time on the lips.

I quickly steal a glance over at Derek, and he’s slightly shaking his head back and forth with that same smug grin of his. Then he gives me that look in his eyes that tells me he desperately wants to fuck my brains out. I still want to. Even more so now after hearing Lauren’s news.

Oh yeah, she’s got one other thing to tell us. “So, what’s up, Lauren? What else did you want to announce?” I ask.

“Well, we know it’s soon, but we want an August wedding… and… Kevin and I would be honored if the two of you would be in our wedding party.”

My face lights up. “Of course, Lauren. We’ve talked about this day for years. I figured that was a given,” I laugh lightly.

“Yes, it is. But I mean, we want to pair the maid of honor with the best man. And D, you’re the best man,” Lauren states.

Isn’t the best man typically the groom’s choice? I guess Lauren explained to Kev how much her brother means to her.

Derek and I share a look and before I have a chance to really let this all sink in, he says, “Partnering me with your best friend? I wouldn’t want it any other way.”

Oh, Derek Mykels. You’re so good.

  Derek

I love it whenever she calls me King D. That text message she had sent me on Friday made me hard as steel just thinking about her screaming it in bed. God damn, she’s such a fucking little vixen. I swear, I can’t get enough of Ellie.

Of course, by the time she had texted me again to let me know Lauren wasn’t going out with Kev as planned and that they’d be at the house, my phone had died. So I never got the text. Thankfully, Lauren hadn’t caught on when I asked if she were already gone. Of course, I was asking Ellie if Lauren had left, but if I had told Lauren the truth, she’d want to know why I cared if she had left at all.

Now it’s Monday, and I’m back at work. But it’s about to be closing time, so there’s no customers here. I’m just cleaning up before I head on home and see Ellie. I hope my sister goes to bed early, and I can sneak Ells into my bed for a few hours. That’s risky, I know, but I’m desperate. I need to feel her tight pussy wrapped around my dick. Damn, just the thought, and I’m ready to go. Thankfully, I’m wearing jeans so my cock isn’t that noticeable like it would be if I were wearing sweatpants. Still, I’ve gotta adjust myself; I don’t want to go out front and see Danny while I’ve got a hardon.

And yet, even just sitting next to her on the couch watching TV right now sounds amazing. I just want to be next to her. I want to smell her beautiful coconut-scented shampoo and body lotions that always leave her skin smelling wonderful and feeling super soft. I want to hear her laugh at one of my stupid corny jokes that makes me feel like I’ve said the funniest t
hing in the world to her. I want to look into her gorgeous eyes and see her smile at me right before she bites down on her bottom lip, telling me she wants me just as badly as I want her.

Fuck, man. I’ve got it so bad for this chick, and I’m really starting to feel like I’m falling for her. Completely and totally falling in love with her, which is not good at all. It’s crazy because I promised myself I would never allow another chick to get this close to me or have the same power over me like my ex had that left me feeling so devastated.

But Ellie? Ellie is something else. Ellie is driving me crazy, and it’s like the more of her I get, the more of her I want. How can that even be possible? With every other chick, I’ve always fucked them and left them after twice or three times. Sometimes, I wouldn’t even want to see them after the first time.

But Ellie? I keep wanting her more and more. At first, I had thought that if I’d finally get to sleep with her, this crazy desire I feel for her would fade. I thought if I’d just get to fuck her once, it would be over and I’d be able to move on to the next girl like I’ve always done whenever I’d see some hot chick that I couldn’t wait to bone.

But not Ellie, though. I just want her. Every single day and night.

Of course, I didn’t get to sleep with Ellie since last Thursday, the day before Lauren dropped the news that Kev had proposed to her. And by the way, he’d done an awesome job on picking a ring. I don’t know much about rings, but I could tell by the way Ellie and Lauren spoke about it afterward that he’d done well. This guy is really it for Lauren. I like the dude. I think he’s going to continue treating my sister well. Well he’d better, unless he wants his face broken in, just saying. No one treats my sister like dirt. I’ll kill the next fucker that hurts her.

But until he gives me reason to believe that he’s a douche, I’m just going to continue being happy for her and take her word for it that he’s the one.

So now Lauren’s busy planning a wedding come August. I thought that was plenty of time, but Laur looked at me like I had lost my head when I’d made the mistake of telling her so.

“Wow, that’s a while away,” I had said after she dropped the bomb on Ellie and I that we’d be walking down the aisle together… as best man and maid of honor. Which by the way, I found this to be perfect. It was an excuse to be Ellie’s date for the night. Yum. I can’t wait to see her all dolled up with the bridesmaids dresses they choose. I know no matter what Lauren picks, Ellie is going to look fucking gorgeous in it. She always looks beautiful no matter what she wears. It’s like she could be wearing sweatpants, a T-shirt, and have her hair up in a ponytail with no makeup on; she’d still be completely breathtaking.

Anyway, back to the night when my sister had almost killed me because of the little comment I made about the wedding still being so far away. I had looked over at the two ladies in the room who were currently busy drooling over Lauren’s diamond engagement ring. Ellie deserved a ring like that one day. She also deserves a good man to treat her right, like the queen that she is. I could be that man… someday. But I know she’d never be serious with someone like me. Even though we’d gotten close–and closer still underneath the sheets–all we were was a fling… strictly sexual partners with no strings attached. We were friends with benefits.

Suddenly, the air in the room seemed to change, and it was like a dark cloud was hanging over my head.

“What?” I had asked as the two women looked up at me.

Ellie’s eyes widened as she shook her head back and forth ever so slightly.

And that had been exactly when I turned to look at Lauren and saw smoke coming out of her ears as she was throwing daggers my way.

Holy fuck. What had I done?

“Oh, boy,” Kev had said, as he walked closer to me and patted me on the back. “Well, it’s been nice knowing you, Derek.”

“Huh?” I had turned to face him, when out of nowhere, Lauren flew toward my direction. She jumped on my back and started banging on my head with her fists.

“Derek! How could you say that? I’ve got less than nine months to plan my dream wedding! Do you know how quickly that’s going to go? Less than nine months! UGH!”

Nine months seemed like a shitload of time to me. That was how long it took babies to cook in the oven. I mean, seriously, what could possibly take so long? You order a cake, pick out some flowers, and select a wedding dress.

Ah, there it was. The dress. I dreaded any time I had gone with Lauren shopping. She always took ages to select something as simple as a pair of jeans. I don’t get women when it comes to shopping. Why does it always fucking take so long? And what the hell is it about shoes? It’s like they get lost in Oz when they enter a damn shoe store.

Whatever. They looked amazing in all the shit they’d select, so I guess perfection takes time, and that’s why it takes forever when they go shopping.

Lauren had continued banging on my head, and I had wanted to laugh the entire time. My sister was tiny compared to me, so her short little ass trying to hurt me wasn’t doing much.

“Laur, I’m sorry,” I chuckled as I quickly flipped her over and placed her down onto the floor.

Her fists automatically landed on her hips, and she was looking at me like I had done the worst thing in the world to her. Aww, she looked adorable mad. Like that time when we were kids and she’d gotten mad at me when I ate the last piece of her Halloween candy when we were eight years old. Oops.

I had glanced over at Ellie standing in the corner with Kev by her side, and the two of them were chuckling. Oh, she was so going to pay for that later.

“Hey, yo, D! I just booked you an appointment,” my boy, Danny, yells from the front of the shop, bringing me out of my daydream.

I close the door to the back room I’m coming out of and walk to the front of the shop. He’s sitting behind the register and doing some work on the computer, probably taking down that appointment he had just mentioned.

I grab some mail on the top of the counter and begin looking through it. Bills, junk, and more bills. Fuck, I’m not in the mood for this. This can wait until tomorrow.

  “Oh, yeah?” I ask.

He shuts off the computer and pushes himself up out of the chair he’s sitting in. “Yeah, some chick was asking about getting a rose down the side of her stomach. She sounded hot as fuck on the phone… I was hoping she was looking to get pierced.”

I smirk. Usually, I’d ask him more about the mystery chick he had just spoken to, but nowadays, I don’t really care. I’ve got the hottest chick around waiting for me at home. Yum. I can’t wait till I can strip her down and shove my tongue right into her sweet pussy.

Well, it’s true that she’s waiting for me back at home, but it’s not like it’s our own apartment. How I fucking wish it could be just her and me in our own place to be able to fuck and screw like bunnies anytime and anywhere we wished.

“I see. When’d you book it for?”

He walks over to meet me by the front of the register. His eyes look at me like I hadn’t heard him correctly.

I chuckle. “What? What is it, man? Damn, even you? This is the type of shit Lauren pulled when she announced she was engaged, looking at me like I did something wrong… I made the teeny tiny mistake of telling her she had a shitload of time still.”

Danny chuckles. “Oh-ho-ho. You told a chick she had a ton of time to plan the wedding of her dreams? How are you still fucking breathing? I’m surprised Lauren let you live, dude.”

  “Shit. She was pissed.”

He nods, still laughing at my expense. Prick. “Yeah, Lauren’s feisty. I’ll bet she was mad.”

“Yup. But why the hell’d you give me that look when I asked you when the appointment was booked for?”

“I just can’t believe you, D. Typically you’d be all over this, wanting to hear more about the chick that just called. Shit, you might have even called her back. But this time, you just casually brushed it off. Damn, your sister’s friend must have done a number on you
,” Danny chuckles.

Yeah, so he knows about Ellie. I had told him when she first had come to stay with us about how hot she was. Of course, I didn’t mention that I had seen her naked that one time in the shower; I didn’t want to be disrespectful to her. But of course, I had mentioned I’d seen her in a towel a few times, and I had so wanted to rip it off of her and lie her body down. Once we did end up sleeping together, I had to tell him I’d finally slept with her. Not in a bad way, of course. It wasn’t as if I were telling him to brag. I just couldn’t get her off my mind, and he had been able to read me like a book. That’s what happens when you work with your best friend of over fifteen years.

I shrug. “She’s fucking amazing, Dan. But it’s more than just sex.”

“Wait, what? You mean you guys are officially dating now?” he questions. We continue closing up the shop, grab our things and then I walk with him to locate our cars.

“Nah… we’re still just friends,” I admit, but there’s a pang of longing in my heart. I motion for us to continue walking to our cars, and he follows.

We walk a few feet, and my car is the first one to come up. He leans on it with me so we can finish our discussion.

“So, explain then,” he says, adjusting the Yankees baseball cap sitting on the top of his head. This man never leaves the house without his cap.

My expression changes. I want him to know how serious I am about the next thing I am going to tell him. “I think I’m falling in love with her, Dan. All joke’s aside. I think she’s the one.”

His face beams. “No shit, man. For real, for real?”

I nod. “Yeah. For real, for real. And my sister went ahead and announced that Ellie and I are going to be partnered as best man and maid of honor at her wedding.”

“Damn,” he chuckles shaking his head. “No wonder you didn’t ask me about the chick that you’re gonna be tattooing. Your dick’s practically already dipping inside Ellie’s sweet pussy as we speak,” he chuckles, and I punch him playfully in the arm. He better watch his mouth. Yeah, we’ve been friends for a long time, but no one talks about Ellie’s pussy but me. Oh my God, just thinking about her tight little pussy is making me so hard, I could break through a piece of steel. Fuck. That’s my pussy. My property. That’s mine. All mine.
