“This is going to be strange,” I confessed to Hex. “Like, I know I wrote the book and agreed to film being made, but it's going to be so weird seeing other people portray our story.”
The world went wild to find out what had happened with me and Charlie behind the scenes, so the book that started off as a therapeutic vent for me became a worldwide sensation pretty quickly. Everyone quickly fell in love with Hex too, the man who looked past the police investigation, that noticed things no one else would.
“It will,” he replied quietly. “But maybe not as weird as the trial is going to be.”
“Hmmm…” I was doing my best not to think about that. It had been forever, but I still didn't feel ready to tackle it. “Yeah, well one thing at a time.”
“Come on.” Hex pressed a light kiss on my lips, making my insides churn with happiness. “Let's go. You never know, this might be fun…”
But I still wasn't totally convinced…
***
“Okay,” I grinned excitedly as we crashed back through the door that we'd left only a few short hours before. “I have to admit, you were right. That was amazing.”
Seeing the film unravel on the screen had me gripped. It was almost as if my life had been a fictional story – which was helped by the odd creative liberties that had been taken by the filmmakers – so I felt strangely distanced from it the whole time.
“I'm not too sure I like the guy who played me,” Hex teased. “He was a little too wimpy for my liking.”
“Oh, stop it!” I exclaimed, hysteria floating through me. “Come here and kiss me.”
As Hex's lips crashed against mine, I felt the same intense rush of excitement I felt the very first time that we kissed, in the hotel room when we both knew that we shouldn't be. I knew then, even in that moment that it was something powerful. At the time I just didn't know what to do with it.
“I love you,” he murmured the words that I would never get bored of hearing however many times that he said them.
“I love you too.” We finally caved and confessed the depth of our feelings not long after we got together, and ever since then things had felt solidified, steady. “I'm so lucky to have you.”
“Yeah, and you're about to get a whole lot luckier!”
He slid down my body and tugged my lace panties down from under my dress, which would only mean one thing… I was about to get the part of his body that I loved the best. His tongue. Every time he explored me with his mouth I felt like I was about to die with bliss.
“Oh God,” I gasped in shock, trying to find the wall behind me to rest my body against something. We hadn't even made it out of the hallway. Time had done nothing to dull the chemistry and passion between us.
As I felt his breath on my entrance, my eyes slid shut and my head fell to one side in ecstasy. Then his lips found me, and his tongue slowly slid into me.
“Oh wow, Hex.” He was phenomenal, the best that I'd ever had. “Hex you feel… so good…”
I shuddered, and staggered on my feet, the pleasure too intense for me to remain standing up. Sensing that I was struggling, without me even needing to tell him, Hex stood up and carried me, allowing me to wrap my legs around him. I could feel him, pulsating for me, needing me as much as I did him and I couldn't wait for what was to come.
I was happy to eventually change for this man, to become a dragon hybrid – especially as it gave me some much needed extra years with him. He was my everything, the love of my life. But I wanted the time to be right.
“I love you,” I panted again as he tossed me back onto the bed. “I love you so damn much.”
He hovered over me and started to nibble on my neck, giving me a hint for what was about to come. Then as I was distracted by his mouth I felt him slide into me, and my body felt right all over again. With him inside of me, I felt whole, like this was exactly where I wanted to be.
“I love you too,” he thrust, sending the intense, powerful waves of pleasure crashing over my body over and over again…
Chapter 20 – Hex
Guilty.
Still, even now, even after four hours solid of looking at that headline I cannot get used to it. Sure, I was already fully aware that Charlie was guilty. It was me who went through it after all. But to see it in black and white… it made me feel weird.
The details of the trial were harrowing, almost worse than being trapped with Charlie. To learn the full details of his obsession with me was hard. The fact that he mailed me body parts, that Mouse hid them from me, that he heard about my one failed date with a werewolf which led him to take fake, illegal werewolf supplements… it was insane.
The defense tried to suggest that the supplements hadn't done anything. But that strength was inhuman. They must have helped him somehow.
Luckily I had Hex with me during the whole trial. He looked after me and supported me. He was incredible.
“Are you okay?” he asked once more. This time he placed his arms around my waist and kissed my neck. “I know it must be difficult for you, but this is a relief right? He's finally going to be locked away for a very long time. He won't be able to get you, or anyone else, ever again.”
This was huge, gigantic actually, and it made me really want to put him behind me once and for all and make a fresh start on my own life. And there was only one thing that I really wanted to do.
“I'm ready,” I announced, spinning around to face Hex. I wanted him to look into my eyes as I said this. I wanted him to see how serious I was. “I want you to change me.” He gasped audibly in shock – we had originally planned to wait a little longer, but what was the point? We were always doing what we thought was expected of us. It was time to start living for us. “Let's go now, head to Vegas, get married. Turn me, make me one of you, then we can have children.”
“Are… are you sure?” he stammered slowly. “This isn't just a sudden whim?”
“I love you, Hex. This is nothing but that. I'm ready to take that step, I'm ready to finally start living.”
He stepped back and examined me, before holding out his hand to guide me. “I suppose we better get going then. If you're really ready then there's nothing holding us back.”
As we raced to his car, I felt right. This was perfect, this was us, our happily ever after…

Taken by the Aliens
Chapter One – A Good Day
“Hey Tessa, I knew I would find you here. Want some lunch?” Smiling, Tessa turned away from the view to see her friend Lindesty approaching with two lunch bags in her hands.
“Sounds good space sister, thanks,” she answered. Lindesty laughed and handed her a lunch. She sat next to her in front of the observation window.
“You really love this view, don’t you?” Lindesty asked. Tessa nodded and removed the prepackaged meal from the bag. She twisted the knob on the side and there was a popping noise. The meal container began warming up.
“I do. The security guard who caught me when I got to Station One came by a minute ago. He asked me if I regret stowing away on the cargo ship. I told him as long as I can get a look at this view I have no regrets,” Tessa told her friend. The label on the food pack changed to a tan color indicating it was done. She opened the package and the smell was heavenly. She looked at Lindesty in surprise.
“This can’t be real chicken, can it?” Tessa asked softly. Lindesty grinned and opened her lunch too.
“Yep, I got a line on a man who brings it in for the station’s brass. He gets enough extra so he can sell some on the side. Amazing huh?” she said and they both dug into their meal.
“Thanks Lindy, I really appreciate this. Breakfast was a little slim. Do you guys need me at the booth today?” she asked before biting into another piece of chicken.
“Yep and for the rest of the week if you want. I also wanted to let you know the boss is looking for another dancer,” Lindesty told her.
“You know I can’t dance. I can fight and I can dazzle you with my compute
r skills, not dance though,” she reminded her friend.
“I know; it just seems you wouldn’t have to be living on the edge like you are. I worry about you Tess,” Lindesty told her and Tessa reached out and squeezed her hand.
“I appreciate it but I am fine. I may not always eat as well as I should, but I am getting by. Not to mention I am able to network with customers at the sales booth. Eventually one of the tech guys will hire me despite my record. You’ll see. I will get where I need to be eventually. Like I told the security jerk, this view is all I need for now,” she said gesturing at the stars outside the station. Tessa couldn’t get enough of it. Lindesty patted her shoulder.
“I know; the stars are the limit,” said Lindesty. “Why you had to come all the way out here to find them, I will never know. I am glad you did though,” Lindesty looked embarrassed. She never liked getting too touchy feely. Tessa appreciated it though.
“Thanks, I am glad I met you when I got here. I hope you don’t mind having a temporarily deadbeat friend?” Tessa told her with a grin. Lindesty laughed. She had a great laugh. She was also a gorgeous woman with bright red hair and a voluptuous figure that brought in a lot of tip money at Dancers Galore. Tessa was similar-shaped except instead of the angular exotic face like Lindesty, she had a more heart-shaped face, with long blond hair. Lindesty was wearing a long gray robe that hid her figure well and her hair was in a tight bun. She did not believe in showing off if she wasn’t getting paid. Tessa had picked up the not showing off habit from her friend. She wore a baggy jumpsuit and her hair was in a braid down her back.
“You aren’t a deadbeat. Merely ‘temporarily searching for the right employment’,” she said in a snooty tone and they both laughed. They finished their lunch and started walking back to the market area of the station. Lindesty had got Tessa a job working the booth her employer ran selling hair care, perfume, nail care and other self-beautification products. They hugged goodbye in front of the Beauty Galore booth.
“Dinner tonight right?” Lindesty asked.
“Sure, I’ll be there,” she responded and waved as she opened up the little place for business.
Tessa arranged the products and then went into the back area and got herself presentable for selling beauty stuff. She unzipped her jump suit to just above her waist showing her tight, white activity bra that covered half of her stomach, as well as her breasts. It also uplifted her breasts when she snugged it tighter. Then she took her hair out of the braid and brushed it, liking the fizzy appearance it got from being braided. After a moment Tessa decided to spice things up a little and found a red sash contrasting with the blue suit and white underthings. She tied that around her waist leaving the ends hanging down between her legs. A red head band held her hair out of her eyes; the knot hung down next to her ear. It was time to open Beauty Galore.
Tessa was surprised that she started selling right away. Business was much better than usual. Her customers were as varied as always. Men, women, alien men, alien women. It was part of the attraction of living at the edge of known space. There was always something different to explore. The initial rush of customers died down. As she was taking payment from a male Kindar she decided to ask what was the occasion.
“So is there something going on that I haven’t heard about? Business has been really good today,” I asked.
He smiled. The Kindar were one of the spacefaring races that were a lot like humans. They were generally tall and athletic looking. Most of the Kindar she met had dark brown or black hair. The only difference that she had ever noticed was their eye color and their fingers, which were an inch or so longer than human norms. This Kindar was especially handsome and smiled with grace and appreciation as he met her eyes. His were a light blue.
“There is an Ambassadorial Conference taking place in five days. I would think many want to purchase some finery for the occasion,” he answered me. He was right. It wasn’t just perfume and self-care. The Beauty Galore had a small collection of silk undergarments for men and women. Those had been doing better than normal business. Although Tessa wasn’t sure how the undergarments would fit the four armed Nartock who had preceded the Kindar.
“Well thank you, now I know. Here is you purchase Mr...” Tessa trailed off. She always liked to know the customer’s name. You never knew when an important connection could be made.
“I am sorry. My boss would be ashamed of my manners. I am Jindal Lawthul, assistant to the Kindar Ambassador, Jobol Santeria. At your service. Also thank you for your service. The Ambassador’s mother is coming to the station for the first time and he wanted to get her something nice,” he explained of the package he picked up off of the counter. I smiled.
“You are very welcome, Jindal Lawthul. Please let me know if you or your boss needs anything else. I will be happy to provide it if I can,” I replied with a smile. He bowed. As he turned away he put a stack of coins on the table, and then disappeared into the crowd passing by. Tessa’s eyes about popped in surprise. Most transactions were done with credit. Coins were used for things like tips and black market purchases, if you didn’t want anyone to know what you were buying. Tessa hadn’t had a good enough job to warrant a credit chip. Her boss just paid her in coins. Jindal had left her the biggest tip she had ever received. Part of her wanted to run after him, in case it was an accident. The bigger part of her didn’t. Nope, he was a smart guy, he knew what he was doing, she told herself counting out the money. Nice, dinner was paid for. Hell a week’s worth of dinner was paid for!
“Hello Miss?” a voice said and she pocketed the money.
“Yes sir?” she said with a big smile. The man who had spoken was a distinguished, middle aged human with graying hair and a mustache. He wore a decent suit and had a confident bearing.
“I was looking for the perfume Misty River,” he said. Tessa immediately went to the shelf and retrieved a small phial.
“Is this what you’re searching for sir?” she asked, knowing it was.
“That is it exactly. Thank you. I was wondering if you have greater quantities than this?” he asked.
“It only comes in smaller phials sir. There are several Alien species who are allergic to it. So the makers of the product decided to keep the amounts small. I have heard a little bit is not a problem to the aliens, only a larger quantity,” Tessa informed the gentleman. He nodded understanding, but his brow furrowed.
“Well Miss, my name is Jonathon Lockley. My mother came through a few months back and fell in love with this stuff. She is back on Earth and asked me to send her some. Actually she asked for a lot. Do you have much in stock?” he asked with a charming smile and a glint in his eyes. The man was used to getting what he wanted. Tessa debated internally and then mentally shrugged. Her boss wouldn’t mind if she sold out of something. It would create a demand when word got around.
“We have a couple cases in the back. How much would your mother require?” Tessa asked in return. He smiled in apparent relief although it did not reach his dark eyes.
“I will take all that you have. My man here will carry it back to my quarters,” he said gesturing to a short, thin, balding man. Tessa went into the back and brought out the four small cases of the perfume.
“Her you go sir. It is 92 phials of the perfume. Are you sure you need so much?” she couldn’t help asking. She didn’t mind a good deal, but she drew the line at really ripping people off.
“Indeed I do. She has several friends who have asked for some and she may even sell it on Earth. How much?” He asked a little shortly and Tessa stopped asking questions. She totaled it for him and he didn’t even flinch at the cost. As he followed his man away he left a sizable tip on the counter. Tessa shook her head bemused, as she pocketed the money. It was turning out to be a good day.
Chapter Two – A Strange Night
Tessa looked around her little apartment when she got home from dinner with Lindesty. Dinner had been fantastic and hanging out with the ladies from Dancers Galore was always a kick. Now t
hough, it was late and she knew she was not going to get any sleep. She liked finally having a little place to call her own, but she was feeling the need to go for a walk and see what she could see. On Station One you never knew what might be around the corner so she put on a white jacket over her red, silk wrap and went back out to walk the corridors.
Without planning to she ended up in the alien section. The corridors always had different and interesting people. They did not follow the night and day schedule that the humans did. As she came around the first corner on the main corridor Tessa saw a Gorgon walking toward her. The Gorgon were an eight-limbed species and were always seen in an atmosphere suit with a built-in translator. This Gorgon was familiar to Tessa. She had talked to him before, and they had got along. He worked security for his embassy on Station One.
“Hello Mr. Killgeer,” Tessa said as they drew even. He was a big alien. Almost seven feet tall.
“Cake and grass Tessa,” he responded. Tessa shook her head.
“What?”
“Wheels and rope,” he said this time. Tessa guessed what was going on.
“Your translator output is not working Mr. Killgeer,” she told him. The alien cocked its round helmeted head. One of its arms went to the collar on the suit and long, thin tentacle fingers began tapping tiny buttons. After he did that red lights began running from side to side on the collar until one by one they changed to green lights.
“How is that? Can you understand me now?” Tessa smiled for him.
“That is better Mr. Killgeer. You must have had a glitch. Did you re-boot?” she asked, curious. He nodded.
“Yes and it appears to work. I wonder how long I have had a problem. I have spoken to several people since my patrol began and none mentioned it. None answered me either so maybe it has been down for a while. Thank you for the consideration Miss Tessa,”
