Trent smiled and turned to Ciarra. “Is that okay with you? Not permanently moving in here, but coming out on the weekends and such. And having the wedding here.”
“Of course it is.” She rubbed her belly. “I love this place, and I’m sure this baby will also. It’ll be our home away from home.”
He knelt in front of her and whispered, “Not much privacy for . . . you know.”
Ciarra laughed. “I think we can manage. There is a barn and some fields.”
Trent pulled her in for a kiss.
Bianca tapped the side of her glass. “One more thing. Trent, Ciarra has told me how much Acadia needs a free medical clinic for those in need and how the city has no budget for it. I couldn’t fathom ever using Zachary’s blood money. But, maybe it could be used for some good. So, I have begun a trust fund with a good chunk of it for the clinic. You’re in charge. You make the decisions. I’m only a donor of the money.”
“Seriously?” The grand news keeps coming. “Well, of course you would have a say and—”
“I mean this, Trent. I don’t want a say. I fully trust you to know what you’re doing and how to go about doing it.” She scribbled on the napkin and handed it to him.
The amount written down damn near brought him to his knees. Fifteen million. “Thank you so much. You won’t be disappointed.”
He glanced around the room and couldn’t believe how blessed he was at that very moment.
A beautiful wife-to-be, a new baby on the way, a renewed chance at life, and his dream of a free clinic; There wasn’t anything more he could ask for.
