Change My Game: An Emotional Second Chance Romance (North Haven University Book 2)

by Kelsey Clayton

"What are you doing here, Tye?" I ask.

With an amused huff, she smiles menacingly. "Isn't it obvious? My best friend is dead, and the only answer we were given is that it was an accident. You didn't honestly think I was just going to accept that, did you?"

Sighing, I rub the back of my neck to relieve some tension. "Tye, I didn't push her."

"I know you didn't," she answers. "I saw the video. You were nowhere near her."

"Then what are you looking for?"

Her smile turns into a smirk, and her eyes darken. "There's only one reason she was on the roof at all that night, and I'm going to make him pay."

The door opens, and I turn around to see Carter stepping out onto the steps. His eyes widen as he sees Tye, and I swallow harshly.

This girl is one of the toughest and most resilient women I've met.

The devil reincarnated in female form, with the power to destroy anyone she sets her sights on.

  Poor Carter.

  Wreck My Plans

  My name is Carter Trayland,

  And I really screwed up.

I should’ve ended things before they began.

Instead, I wound up in a twisted love triangle,

One that I never wanted to be a part of.

The wrong choice sent my life on a whirlwind.

A woman I forced myself to love is dead.

My best friend was nearly blamed for her murder.

And the one I’ve always wanted, now wants revenge.

Her favorite person is gone, and she thinks it’s my fault.

I’m not about to correct her either.

Not when the reality is so much worse.

She can’t find out the truth of what happened.

Knowing would ruin her in ways I can’t fathom.

If blaming me is her way of coping, I’ll gladly carry that burden.

Because Tyeler Morgan is the one girl I’d protect at all costs.

  Acknowledgments

Wow. I have to say, this book was something else. The energy and emotional strength it took to write it was something I knew would be intense, but I never thought it would be that intense. The death of Paige’s dad is one I’ve dealt with personally with my mom, so writing it was a healing sort of pain.

I want to say a special thank you to my two PA’s, Mercedez and Christina. You two deal with my crazy on a daily basis and still love me anyway. I don’t know what I would do without you.

To my publicist, Sarah Ferguson. Thank you for believing in me enough to help me promote this book and being just as excited for it as I am. You’re truly amazing.

To my beta readers, Rita and Bre. Your insight while reading this helped so much. Thank you for loving me and my words enough to take time out of your lives to help me.

To my editor, Kiezha, and my proofreader, Tiffany. Thank you for making this book perfect, because we both know it was far from it before you guys picked it apart and made it pretty.

To the Procrastinating & B.S. group. You girls convince me I’m sane, and maybe superhuman, and I love you for it. Even though you all know I’m constantly one word away from throwing the whole book out the window.

To Lindsey Iler. Even though you’re in the group, you deserve a special thank you because you helped talk through parts of this book when I was completely at a standstill. You’re seriously one of my best friends and I love you.

To CoraLee June. Thank you for pushing me to sprint anyway on days I just wanted to sit on the couch and eat chips. This book would probably still not be done without you.

A huge thank you to my teams. Sinful Crew & my review team. I seem to have a pattern where I’m excited for a book when I start it. By chapter 15 I overthink it all and hate it. You guys bring me back to the excitement I had when I started. I love all of you so much.

And last but not least, my readers. I don’t think there are words that can describe how important to me you are. You make my dreams possible and give me the life I’ve always wanted. I’m forever indebted to you. I love you.

If you enjoyed Change My Game, I’d love it if you could leave a review. See you in March. ;)

  xoxo,
