Sebastian stood up, walked over and handed me the cup. “We did it!” he said.
My Notes:
We did it! We worked as a team and now have the grail or the cup or whatever you want to call it, of knowledge. Sure, none of us knows how to use it, but we have it. We will figure it out!
Chapter 17
That night, I sat in my room feeling good about myself. I kept the cup of knowledge on top of my desk, guarded by a magic shield. If anybody who wasn’t me or one of my knights tried to touch it, they would be stung.
“We did well. Right, Merlin?” I said.
No answer. But I didn’t hear snoring. I knew something funny was up. Sure enough, Morgana appeared in my room. This wasn’t a projection. This was Morgana herself.
“Nice work, Gwen,” Morgana said, looking at the cup. “I knew you could do it. Thank you. We’ll make a great team.”
I grabbed my staff. “We are not a team!” I said.
Morgana grinned at me. My feet locked to the ground. “No, not yet. You still think of me as the big bad.”
“Yeah, I do!” I said raising my staff over my head.
Morgana blew on me. I fell back onto my bed. “Sit!” she said. “And listen!”
I pushed myself up to a sitting position. I curled my hands into fists.
“Look, Gwen, you can do all you want to stop me after you hear what I have to say. Okay?”
I relaxed a bit. “You’ve got 30 seconds!”
Morgana laughed. “Little girl, I bend time and space to my will. I will take all the time I need.” She paused to let that sink in. “But, I can be quick about this. There is a bigger evil than me. It’s going to take us both to stop her.”
“Who is she?”
Morgana didn’t pay a lot of attention to my words as she started to rant. “Oh, sure the world loves her. They think she is so sweet and good. Bah! It’s a trap!”
“Who is she?” I repeated.
Morgana grinned. “Honey, you’ll figure it out soon enough. Then you will see all I’ve done. The wealth and fame and great looks are all for the good of the world!”
She blew me a kiss and then disappeared.
Merlin sniffed the air. “Hmm, I smell magic!”
“Me too!” Fern nodded.
“Morgana was here, in person!” I said. “She thanked me for getting the cup. Once again, she told me there might be a bigger bad than her in the world! Could she be right?” I asked.
Merlin farted. “Sorry, it helps me think!” he said. “Yeah, she could be right. That’s the thing about living in an infinite universe; anything is possible.”
I grinned. “Well, the good news is I have my team of old knights and new knights. We have the cup of knowledge. I am sure we can handle whatever the universe tosses at us!”
I walked over to my desk. “Now, if you don’t mind, I have math homework due tomorrow.”
I sat at my desk. I popped open my book. My phone beeped. I looked at the text message:
SEBASTIAN: How goes that math?
GWEN> Just starting
MIKA>It’s not 2 bad
PAULIE>I’m here if U need
GAIL>I fell asleep…I hope sleeping helps
ART>Can’t blame you…it was a long day
BART>I finished my math…I’m watching TV
BRETT>Oh NO! I forgot about that homework
LANCE>I’m still getting used 2 talking with my fingers☺
Yep, no matter what the universe threw at me and my knights, I could handle it!
The end for now!
