Yeah! What the fuck is going on? Cyra responded.

We need to fucking attack! That’s what’s going on! I’m tired of just sitting here watching the Council fucking think they’re untouchable! This is bull shit! Gypsy was getting really mad the longer she sat and watched the Council abuse their power.

How? They’re like fucking gods to aliens!

They have to have an Achilles heel of some sort, we just have to figure out what that is!

Time continued to pass and the pressure to come up with something fast wasn’t helping. Trying to think of anything they could, the overstimulation of their environment was starting to take effect and Gypsy felt her brain starting to get fuzzy. Cyra knew she needed to help think of something and fast but it was easier said than done. Taking out these huge god-like creatures wouldn’t be a walk in the park and they needed to think of every bit of alien and space knowledge they had.

Think, think, think! What is a universal weakness that they would have? Gypsy thought.

What if we targeted their heads or neck region? That would be the main area of their bodies that’d be nearly impossible to repair, right? Cyra added to the brainstorming.

I like where your head’s at! Let’s keep playing off of that! We only have one shot at this so it needs to be meticulous. Gypsy thought back as she continued to go over ideas in her head.

Obviously neither of us have any medical background but I know in humans if our necks break-break, then that’s it, we’re done for. Or if we have enough brain trauma then we’re fucked too and are basically vegetables. What if they’re the same?

Do you think we could paralyze them if we targeted their necks? Assuming their brainstems are connected like ours…Gypsy’s thoughts trailed off as she focused her gaze on the Council.

I mean, what’s the worst that could happen? We’d be back to where we started. Fuck it. Cyra encouraged the plan that was starting to come together.

What if we amputated their heads? Then it would really guarantee them not being able to retaliate. Gypsy was started to get a glimmer of excitement in her eyes.

That would work too. Cyra smirked. We just need to make sure it’s a clean shot, otherwise it won’t work as discreetly as we need it to.

Cyra moved around while keeping her eyes focused on the target at hand, being extra careful as to not misaim and accidentally hit Lamb or Dewayne. Gypsy was trying to think of a distraction when two of the Council members floated down from where they had been sheltered, taking the four of them off-guard.

Their fiery iridescence was almost blinding from how close they were which made it nearly impossible for Cyra to keep her focus. They continued to inch closer and closer as they floated above the ground. Dewayne and Lamb started to slowly backtrack so they were closer to where Gypsy and Cyra were.

Um what the fuck is going on? Gypsy thought as she observed where they were headed.

Your guess is as good as ours, Dewayne replied telepathically.

The two Council members stopped when they were about a foot away from where the others were standing. The rest of the room seemed to pause while they looked at each other, then at the group.

In a deep voice one broke the silence, “I bet you are wondering why we have come down to your level.”

Silence pursued since Dewayne and Lamb appeared to be in some kind of shock while Cyra and Gypsy were merely trying to follow their lead. Something felt weird, like a gut feeling telling them to stay silent. Gypsy tried to look at Dewayne for direction but couldn’t break her fixated stare from the Council members in front of them.

Their bodies started to ripple as the group continued to stare. The rippling got more and more violent the longer it continued, followed by waves of sound that could only be seen, not heard. The Council members must have broken into the unknown dimension and in an attempt to throw them off.

Um guys…what the fuck? Gypsy thought to the others as she continued to gaze at the sight in front of them.

Before the others even had a chance to respond, the rippling turned into a violent shake and from the middle of what would have been their chests, an unzipping motion started to occur until the red iridescent Council members’ bodies were laying limp on the floor and Shai and Cole stood in their places.

Gypsy and Cyra’s jaws dropped in shock. They couldn’t believe what they were seeing. This whole time they were worried Shai and Cole had been dissected like Jeffrey and Lollie but they were part of the Council. Feelings of betrayal and disturbance flooded their systems as they continued to stare, unable to move while they tried to process what they were seeing.

Breaking the silence, Shai finally spoke, “I know this is a huge surprise to say the least, but we have an explanation.”

Dewayne and Lamb were clearly confused as they glanced over at Cyra and Gypsy to see their reactions. As the four of them continued to stand there without replying, Shai continued to speak.

“Since it’s evident you all are going to die, we figured we should come forward and explain everything that has happened to you guys.”

“We’ll start at the beginning and if you have any questions, speak up and we’ll answer them as best we can,” Cole chimed in.

“We knew the perfect way to penetrate the EDM community on Earth was to disguise ourselves as one of you, hence our appearances,” Shai motioned a hand up and down, “with

Lost Lands being in the middle of nowhere, it was perfect since no one would detect us and we had plenty of room to emit signals to the rest of our galaxy whilst planning the attack.”

“You know how every night we said we were tired? Well, it was just a ploy so we could transmit the right frequencies back to our fellow Council members without being detected by your military. This was not a small feat and we needed to be meticulous as to blend in with the rest of you peasants,” Cole flicked his hand in Cyra and Gypsy’s direction before Shai picked up where he left off.

“When we directed you guys into Canada and the forest, that was all to help our ships get a clearer read on where we would be, but it would have been too suspicious if we went ourselves, so we needed to drag you imbeciles along with us. Jeffrey and Lollie were just an experimental casualty that ended up working in our favor. However, we didn’t really plan on you both escaping your confinements or meeting these two,” she motioned to Lamb and Dewayne.

“Why though? What is so terribly wrong with raving that made you all want to destroy it?” Gypsy finally was able to speak as her voice cracked.

“We’ll get to that, just be patient,” Cole snapped.

“We weren’t going to let any of that stop our plan though. With all this electronic music, the screeching, scratching, beats that you people feel in your ‘souls’,” Shai made air quotes, “it disrupts the unison and order in our society. We run on order and obedience, something Earth clearly doesn’t have,” she rolled her eyes as she let out a sinister laugh.

“That doesn’t make sense though? What does Earth have to do with your society?” Cyra asked as the shock started to slightly wear off.

“Some of our amazing Watchers caught troublemakers in our society talking about making the trek to your galaxy so they could live freely and listen to whatever music they wanted to. THAT IS NOT HOW OUR SOCIETY WORKS! THAT IS NOT HOW OUR SOCIETY WILL EVER WORK! WE PRIDE OURSELVES ON BEING SUPERIOR TO EVERY OTHER GALAXY, TYPE OF RACE, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, ANY OTHER TYPE OF SOCIETY! WE ARE THE BEST AND WE MUST KEEP OUR MEMBERS IN LINE!” Cole went off.

“As elite Elders on the Council, it’s our duty to make our galaxy even more superior than those before us did. We are constantly procuring ideas and ways to continue our legacy as a society of greatness. We needed to do something that would set ourselves and our societal members apart and above from the rest of the universe. Collectively, this seemed like the best way to do that, and therefore, we all agreed these measures, no matter how ext
reme, were the way to do that. We had started being looked at as a joke by the younger generation,” Shai paused.

“They were starting to revolt and demand changes that would not do. We must make our entire species pure again and in order to take a step in the right direction, EDM had to go,” Cole finished.

“The society wouldn’t be revolting if it was as great as you claim it to be. Times are changing and with every lightyear that passes, the Council continues to refuse change.

What makes you think that will fix everything? More problems are bound to arise later down the line,” Dewayne challenged.

“Have you seen or heard of any other galaxy surpassing us?” Cole asked coldly.

“What other galaxies are even around? We’ve traveled billions of lightyears and were barely able to find Earth in the Milky Way,” Lamb rebutted.

“Exactly; we wiped all the other ones out. There was no need for them and they would have only caused more problems,” Shai slyly said as a grin poked at the corners of her mouth.

“Don’t you guys have any morals? Diversity is what makes everything so great. We all come together from different backgrounds, coexisting, teaching new skills, and getting to know one another to make each galaxy a beautiful place…at least I’m assuming since I’ve only ever been on Earth,” Cyra tried to be positive while attempting to hit a soft spot.

Shai and Cole looked at Cyra then each other before letting out a demonic and cold laugh.

“You just don’t get it, do you?” Cole asked.

Cyra didn’t know what she was feeling, but Gypsy could tell she was not okay, stepping in she spoke up once more, “what is there to get, asshole? She was pretty clear with what she said, and any creature capable of love or compassion would get that!”

Shai and Cole didn’t even blink. They clearly had no interest in anything other than what they were saying so there was no point in wasting energy trying to get through to them. Lamb and Dewayne moved closer to the girls, slowly as to not draw too much attention, but time was ticking. The Watchers would be back with an army at any moment and with the help of the Council, they would surely be able to break through the dimensional barrier.

Since there were no other galaxies or societies, any kind of help or hope of new lives wouldn’t be possible. Something still was not sitting right as Cyra and Gypsy felt themselves become more and more anxious. The doors that they entered from started to emit heat and began making the room warm up. Watchers’ footsteps were getting louder and louder, indicating their army was approaching.

This is it, I guess, Gypsy glanced over at the others as she gulped down a knot in her throat.

There’s still hope. Don’t give up, Dewayne replied but even he couldn’t fake a happy-go-lucky attitude anymore.

  CHAPTER FOURTEEN

The doors started to shake before flying open and the sea of Watchers flooded the room, looking around confused since the Council hadn’t created a portal for them to enter the hidden dimension yet.

“VIVIN NEELO QUEETID LUPEX NUWES!” Cole and Shai shouted in unison back to the other Council members.

Without missing a beat, they all pointed their palms in the middle of the room and created a portal that glowed in soft rainbow hues similar to the one Dewayne and Lamb had made to get them there. Rushing through, the Watchers started securing the area, making sure every corner was secure before surrounding the group.

“Any last words?” Cole started to float higher into the air with Shai.

“The universe usually has a way of righting itself, so just know, you will be stopped one day,” Gypsy was furious but also terrified at the same time.

She could see her life flashing before her eyes until it was disrupted by a flashing light jerking around like a glitch in a video game. Then as fast as it happened, it was gone and the Watchers continued to surround them again as if nothing had happened.

Did you guys see that too? Gypsy asked telepathically.

I did, Cyra replied, what the fuck was that?

See what? Dewayne seemed concerned, mixed with fear, he was trying to stay strong for the girls but his energy was dwindling.

What did you guys see? Lamb anxiously asked.

There was this glitch, like a flashing light and everything shifted like we were in a video game or something. But it was literally less than five seconds, Gypsy was still trying to process what she had just seen.

Yeah, it was really fucking weird. I don’t have a good feeling about it…Cyra’s thoughts trailed off as she tried looking around the rest of the room for any clues as to what it could have been.

The Watchers continued to surround them until it was the only visible line of sight; a never-ending army of them. It seemed unfair and a bit of an over-exaggeration but even more hell would break loose if they tried to make a point to the Watchers or the Council.

The flashing light happened again, but this time the glitching looked like there was something on the other side. The little blip of the room that was disrupted had what appeared to be a grid with neon ice blue lines that looked almost white while the background was blacker than the dead of night. Entranced by trying to figure out what it was, Gypsy didn’t feel the Watchers grab her right away until they yanked her in line with the others and they began escorting them to where they would be executed.

“Get off of me!” Gypsy shouted as she tried to force her way free from the harsh grip they had on her upper arms.

Their hold only got stronger the more she tried to resist. She could feel her arm starting to bruise so as much as it pained her, she stopped trying to fight it and walked in line with the rest of the group as they all were surrounded by viscous Watchers, waiting for them to slip up so they could instill more pain than there already had been.

A few moments went by and another glitch happened; it was faster than the other times though and with the blink of an eye everything was back to normal. Cyra tried to turn to look at Gypsy as the knot in her stomach made its way up her throat but the grip the Watchers had on them was too strong. She felt her whole body start to tingle and her twenty-foot tall body began to shrink. Her bulbs and phalanges started turning back into hands and feet while her stardust returned to her long, jet black, curly hair. Her body went back to its human form and she felt so small compared to the Watchers that were now confused as to what was happening.

Gypsy watched as Cyra transformed back to her human self and like clockwork, felt her body shifting back to its normal self too. Her long blonde hair fell against her back as she decreased significantly in height. Standing there, naked, in their most vulnerable state, the least these aliens could do was give them any kind of garments to cover up so they weren’t completely exposed.

“Hey, could we get some clothes or something so we’re not just being paraded around naked?” Gypsy asked, making the entire army of Watchers stop in their tracks.

Lamb and Dewayne tried to use the distraction as an advantage to help them break free. While the Watchers were dealing with Gypsy and Cyra asking for garments, Dewayne and Lamb stealthily went in opposite directions as to not draw attention to themselves. Wherever they were headed was not going to be good if it had been ordered by the Council so they felt the pressure of the clock ticking and their window of time diminishing.

Out of the corner of her eye, Cyra saw what Lamb and Dewayne were doing, instilling a little bit of hope that otherwise had been completely lost. Maintaining her composure though was absolutely necessary if what they were attempting to do would have any chance of making it past the careful eyes of the Watchers.

Gypsy caught a glimpse of Dewayne and Lamb slipping away as well and continued to press the Watchers for clothing.

“You can’t really expect us to continue moving with this whole army of you while we’re naked, do you?”

“Yeah, that’s completely unreasonable,” Cyra chimed in, trying to keep them
distracted.

The Watchers seemed so confused and caught off-guard by these demands, which played a huge role in the girls’ favor. They tried to contact the Council, but since they were already out of the room, it would be a nearly impossible feat to get back in.

“Even a towel or something like that would suffice at this point, but I’m starting to get cold,” Gypsy felt her nipples get hard enough to cut diamonds and goosebumps started forming on her arms and legs.

Cyra tried to hold in a small laugh as she added, “yeah, I mean we’re cooperating and everything so you really don’t have to worry about us, ya know?”

The Watchers seemed wary of giving into the girls’ requests but since their attempts to contact the Council were failing, they made the decision that providing clothing would not be detrimental to their execution. Proving they are not complete assholes, a group of the Watchers teleported to grab the girls some garments while the rest made sure the area was secure, still not making it known whether or not they were aware that Lamb and Dewayne had disappeared.

While all this had been going down, Dewayne and Lamb had managed to almost make their way to the outer line of Watchers that were securing any and all exits. Escaping was proving to be more difficult than they had originally anticipated but they had a feeling the Watchers were not how they seemed. The way their movements were so unnatural and felt forced was an indicator that they were being controlled by something other than their own fucked up minds.

What if they’re just robots controlled by the Council? Lamb thought to Dewayne as they inched closer and closer to the outer line.

That would make sense but how can we test that theory?

We could get something sharp and poke it in their extra eyes? Lamb brainstormed.

That would draw too much attention to ourselves. We have to be smart and meticulous about this, Dewayne replied with a cold look on his face.

Well, do you have anything better?

I’m thinking…give me a moment, Dewayne was trying not to let his internal frustration come out on Lamb but their window was shrinking for them to make a move.
