“Are you even listening to me?”
Mona blanked several times and looked at Kara. “Unfortunately, I am.”
Kara’s cheeks turned pink with her irritation. “What is that supposed to mean?”
Mona shook her head. She didn’t want to get into this with her right now, especially since Mona didn’t have a lot of room to harp. She didn’t want to ruin that lovestruck look in her best friend’s eyes, but she also didn’t want to see her come home one day devastated. She opened her mouth to speak, but Kara held her hand up to stop her.
“Don’t start that whole rumor shit about Marcus. Everyone only seems to be talking about the negative things about him instead of the positive.” She stood and took her plate to the sink. “I thought you out of all people would give me a little more credit than that. Is my judgment that bad?” Kara didn’t wait for her to respond. She left the kitchen and went up the stairs.
Mona sat there in absolute silence, not understanding what had just happened. When she was finished eating she knew she had to make things right with Kara. She didn’t want her to be upset with her, especially when Mona really had no ground to stand on when it came to Marcus. She was like every other person in town when it came to speculating about him. Maybe she was wrong to judge him? Maybe she shouldn’t judge someone else when she had screwed her best friend’s father.
She made her way upstairs and stopped in front of Kara’s closed bedroom door. A few quick knocks and she heard Kara’s permission to enter. Mona opened the door and saw her sitting on her bed. Mona stepped inside and shut the door behind her.
“Did you come in here to lecture me about Marcus again? You know everyone in this damn town along with my father seems to remind me all the time that I need to be careful when it comes to him.”
“They are only looking out for you. Practically the whole town has known you since you were a toddler.”
Kara exhaled and lay back on the bed. “I know they mean well, but if you were in my situation wouldn’t it get a bit old to hear people always saying you shouldn’t be with the one person you really wanted to be with?”
Mona sat in the chair across from Kara and thought about it. She was right. If people knew how she felt about Isaac, there would be so much criticism that it would strangle Mona. She didn’t doubt that criticism would be directed toward her, because heaven knew they thought she was trash compared to him. He was, after all, one of the nation’s top attorneys, while she on the other hand was the daughter of a couple of drunks.
“You’re right.”
Kara sat up and gave her a strange look. “That’s it? You aren’t going to try and convince me otherwise?”
Mona shook her head. “I have no room to talk about anyone’s life. Everything I’ve heard is only hearsay anyways. For all I know he could be a saint.” Nothing was said. Kara smiled and patted the spot next to her.
“Sit next to me.”
When Mona was beside her, they both lay back on the bed. She stared at the immaculate white ceiling and thought about where her life had led her.
“Kara?”
“Yeah?”
Mona knew what Kara was going to say, but she asked anyway. “If there was someone that you knew in your heart was the one you wanted to spend the rest of your life with, but you knew a relationship with them would hurt someone very special, would you still want to be with them?” Kara didn’t say anything for so long that Mona finally looked at her.
Kara stared at her. “Is this your way of saying my relationship with Marcus is hurting you?” Kara sat up and got off the bed, but before she could step away Mona gabbed her hand.
“I’m not talking about you and Marcus, honest. I’m asking you as my best friend. What I really want to know if you would let your heart lead the way even though it might be wrong in the eyes of so many other people.” Maybe it was wrong for Mona to even ask Kara this given the circumstances, but she honestly wanted to know her thoughts on it.
Would you actually give up what you have with Isaac if Kara was totally against it? Yes, yes, she would, because Mona didn’t even want to think about not having her best friend in her life.
“If I told you it was wrong, I would be a hypocrite, but then again, if a relationship would really hurt someone close to me then I honestly don’t know what I’d do.”
Mona released Kara’s hand and lay back on the bed.
“What is this really about? Is this really about you?”
How was Mona supposed to be honest about it? “I was curious is all.” When Kara didn’t respond Mona glanced at her. She held a look that spoke volumes. Mona knew she didn’t believe a word she had just said, but Kara wasn’t the kind of person to dig when it was clear the subject was over. That was a trait Mona loved about Kara. She should have kept her mouth shut, but curiosity and guilt had gotten the best of her.
“Whatever you say, but when you feel like telling me the whole story I’m here. You know I wouldn’t judge you.”
Mona knew this situation might break Kara’s vow on not judging, because if it was the other way around, Mona didn’t know how she would react. Kara left for work shortly after that, leaving Mona stuck at the house by herself with nothing but her thoughts to bombard her.

Mona brought the ladle filled with Alfredo sauce to her mouth and gently blew to cool it off. She wanted to make dinner for Isaac and Kara, but Kara had cancelled due to another late night date with Marcus.
She had somewhat successfully avoided Isaac for the past week. It had been hard, and she had been able to do so to a point, but with each passing day she had found it harder and harder to resist him. Even though she knew why she should stay away, and had successfully done so, she thought it was dumb as hell given all they had done.
They hadn’t had sex again, but there had been touches and kisses in dark corners. Things needed to be discussed before they got even more out of hand, but every time she talked herself into telling Kara everything, her best friend decided to stay out yet again.
There were numerous times when Kara did finally make it home, reeking of alcohol. After everything that had happened with Mona and her mother and father, she thought Kara would be smarter about drinking, but that clearly wasn’t the case.
When the food was done, Mona put it in the oven to stay warm and decided to take a shower. Alfredo sauce littered her clothing and hair, and she only imagined what she smelled like after cooking over the stove all day.
Once she was upstairs and in the bathroom she turned the water on and let it heat. Her clothes were next to go, and when she was finally under the hot spray of the water, she closed her eyes and let everything wash away. Her thoughts, her emotions, her very self twirled around the drain until there wasn’t anything left.
She put a generous amount of shampoo in her palm and lathered it in her hand. The scent of coconut and pineapple filled the bathroom and Mona couldn’t help the small moan of bliss that left her. The water cascaded over her breasts and between her thighs. Despite her willpower, she felt herself grow aroused and pictured Isaac’s big, smooth hands running down her body.
Her imagination was so vivid that she actually felt his fingers caress the small of her back and the cheeks of her ass. It was a delicious feeling that had a fire burning in the pit of her stomach. A moan escaped her as she felt Isaac place his hand between her thighs, right at her center. The feeling was so real, almost too real. She snapped her eyes open and spun around.
The ground was slick and she lost her balance, but Isaac was right there, his strong arms wrapped around her waist and keeping her from falling. Heart pounding, blood rushing through her veins, and breathing erratic, Mona stared into his eyes. She let her gaze travel down his golden neck. Droplets of water cascaded across his bronzed skin, as if he had been working under the hot sun all day. She shouldn’t watch those droplets as they dipped lower and lower on his body, because it was all too tempting.
When her gaze finally landed on where the drops o
f water ended, she licked her lips. His cock was already erect, hard and straining toward her as water ran down it in rivulets. Her breasts rose and fell as she panted. Their eyes locked again and she couldn’t stop the rush of emotions that bombarded her.
“You’ve been avoiding me, Mona.” His whispered words played across her lips in a sensual touch.
He moved closer, so close that their mouths were no more than centimeters apart. All she would have to do was rise up on her toes and press her lips against his. She had been avoiding him, and she still should right now, but she couldn’t, no matter how hard she tried. There was a magnetism about him that she couldn’t break from.
“Do you realize how hard it’s been for me? Do you realize that the harder you try and stay away the more I want you?”
“Isaac.” His name was just a breath of air from her lips. She meant to tell him she couldn’t do this anymore, but of course she couldn’t bring herself to say it, not when he was so close.
“I love it when you say my name.” With that he brought his lips to hers. He still had his arms wrapped around her, and ever so slowly moved him hands lower down her back.
His kiss was like fire, like spice that burned every part of her body. His cock was nestled between her thighs, stroking, enticing an intense pleasure that made her yearn for more.
“I need you, Mona. I need you like I’ve never needed anything before in my life.”
His words filled her heart, and she lost herself to him. Mona wrapped her arms around his shoulders and pressed her breasts against his chest. Her nipples were hard as rock, and when they moved against his slick skin it sent tingles of pleasure through her. He kissed her again and pressed her back up against the tile. It was cold and shocking against her heated skin, but the dual sensations had her growing hotter.
The kiss started off slow, but soon became more passionate. Isaac slid his hand across her thigh and gripped the back of her knee, placing it over his leg. Her pussy lips spread from the movement and his cock nestled deeper into her center. The root of his shaft rubbed against her clit and she shook from the intensity of it. It had only been a week since they had been together, but it felt like ages.
He started to thrust his pelvis against her, slow at first but faster and faster as their kiss intensified. It was pleasure and pain and all she wanted at that moment was to feel him push all those heavy, thick and throbbing inches into her body.
“Please, Isaac.”
He kissed the shell of her ear and whispered her name. He took his other hand and placed it between their bodies. His fingers across her swollen, slick labia sent tingles straight to her clit. He spread her flesh apart and let it snap back into place.
“I want to be inside of you. So. Fucking. Bad.”
Her heart stuttered and cream gushed out of her cunt. He kissed her again, but before it became heated like it had been seconds before, he had her turned around. Her breasts pressed against the tile, her nipples so hard they slipped against the slick surface. With his free hand he propped her leg on the edge of the tub. Mona knew he could see everything, a thought that had embarrassment flooding her.
“I want to be here, Mona.” He emphasized his point by running the pad of his finger along her anus.
Never had anyone touched her there, and the very idea that Isaac wanted to breech that virgin spot frightened her slightly.
“Not tonight, though.” With that being said, Isaac placed the tip of his shaft at the entrance of her pussy.
Her pussy was so slick with her cream that the tip of his cock slipped into her body with little to no effort. It might have been an easy entrance, but he was still larger than anything she had ever had and the joy of being filled encompassed her.
He went agonizingly slow as he pushed his enormous cock into her body. Her palms were flat against the tile, but with each inch he shoved into her, she curled her fingers into the hard surface, trying to get leverage but failing miserably. Eyes closed and bottom lip between her teeth, Mona moaned out her pleasure. It felt so good, so agonizingly good that she wanted to scream.
Isaac grunted his own pleasure behind her. He only stilled for a moment when he was buried to the hilt inside of her, and then he was like a madman. As he thrust into her like his life depended on it, Mona could do nothing but hold on and enjoy the exquisite torture he delivered.
“Fuck, Mona. Your pussy is so tight, so hot and wet. I could be buried inside of you all night long.” He kissed the nape of her neck as he continued to pump into her. Faster and harder he plowed until she was pressed completely against the tile. His dominating movements made her feel purely feminine.
When her orgasm peaked, she tasted blood coat her tongue. It didn’t disgust her; in fact, the flavor inflamed her, showed her what his fucking could make her do. As her climax ended and his began, little aftershocks of ecstasy raced through her. Legs about to give out, she was thankful when he pulled his softening shaft from her and wrapped his arms around her waist. It was a surreal moment, to have been fucked raw by a man that by all means should be forbidden. Here he was, holding her so tenderly, whispering endearments into her hair that had tears welling behind her lids, while he washed the remnants of what they had just done from between her thighs.
This was bad, very bad, because Mona was finding it really hard to not let her emotions bloom from infatuation to love.
Chapter Eleven
As the days progressed Mona found it harder and harder to keep her distance from Isaac. Kara was staying out more than ever, and with her personality changes, Mona knew she had to talk to her. Whatever was going on with her and Marcus was causing the friend she had known all her life to become a stranger.
Mona finished getting ready for work, determined to sit down and talk it out with Kara tonight. When she stepped off the landing and adjusted the small barista apron hanging over her arm, she ran right into Isaac. Of course Kara was already gone, so with the house to themselves, Mona instantly felt a wave of arousal slam into her.
He wore an expensively tailored suit and that cologne he wore, the same one that had her panties becoming wet every time she smelled it, had her nipples beading up and her clit tingling. He instantly wrapped his arms around her, brought his big body close to hers, and kissed her like it was the last thing he would ever do. She should have gotten lost in the kiss, but her mind reeled about what was to happen in the upcoming weeks. Her first semester of school was scheduled to start in a month, and Mona couldn’t help but wonder how all of this would play out in the end.
He nipped at her lips until she felt the blood rush to the surface. Soon her thoughts turned toward what he was actually doing to her. With deft, expert fingers, he started to unbutton her blouse. He slipped his hand inside and cupped one of her breasts, all the while never ending their kiss. She knew he could feel her nipple through the thin material of her bra. Hell, it probably felt like a rock against his fingers. A gasp left her and she pushed him away. It wouldn’t do any good to get worked up when she had to leave in a few minutes.
He didn’t resist her when she shoved at his chest; in fact, he smiled broadly and started to stoke his shaft through his trousers.
“See what you do to me.” His grin had her heart skipping a beat.
His lips were red and swollen, and she lifted her finger and ran it over her own. Did her lips look like his? It was as if he had imprinted himself on her, and she would never be able to wash it away. Oh, who was she kidding, she didn’t want to wash it away. She wanted this to last with Isaac, but with the lying to Kara, the guilt, and starting school soon, Mona honestly didn’t see how it would work.
“Isaac, I think we need to talk about…” She used her hand to gesture between the two of them.
Isaac opened his mouth to say something, but before he could get any words out a sharp knock on the door sounded. Neither of them moved for several seconds and then he turned, gripped the handle, and opened the door.
Holly stood on the other side, her smile wide, her
teeth painfully white as they glistened. She held some kind of covered dish in her hand, clearly some kind of offering in hopes of winning Isaac back. Mona’s cheeks heated as she pictured all of the naughty things she had done with Isaac since Holly and he had broken up.
As the seconds ticked by, Holly realized Isaac wasn’t alone. She turned her blue stare to Mona, but soon that smile faded into something darker. She eyed Mona up and down, and it was then that Mona realized her shirt was still unbuttoned from Isaac’s touch. She snatched the two halves of material together and felt her face become even hotter. It really shouldn’t have mattered to Mona what Holly thought at this point. Isaac and she had been broken up, but still, Mona couldn’t help feel a slight twinge of guilt.
“I guess I’ve caught you at a bad time.” Holly’s voice dripped with sarcasm. “We need to talk. Alone.”
The subtle hint that Holly wanted her gone wasn’t lost on Mona. She knew it was time to leave. Mona excused herself and went into the spare bathroom. When the door was closed behind her she took a look at herself in the mirror.
Her lips were definitely swollen and red, along with her cheeks. Her midriff was showing and her nipples were hard as rocks beneath the thin white material of her shirt. Yeah, she looked like they had been definitely doing something. As the minutes ticked by and she was able to get herself somewhat presentable, she debated whether or not to sneak out the back to avoid Holly.
After contemplating it for what seemed like forever she knew she was being ridiculous. Why should she be intimidated by Holly, and why should she care what she thought? She wasn’t a child any longer to let others push her around with a simple look.
Shoulders squared, Mona left the bathroom, determined to grab her stuff and march right by Holly. When she rounded the corner and entered the foyer she realized she was alone.
The front door was closed, and after a glance out the side window she realized there were no cars in the driveway. Surprise filled her that Isaac would leave without so much as a goodbye. Stop being stupid, Mona. Her inner dialogue snapped her out of her momentary confusion. Bag in hand, she left the house, wondering exactly what did happen between Holly and Isaac.
