Hostage: A Dark Mafia Romance (Romano Brothers Book 1) Page 7

by Cade, Samantha

This sends me over the edge. I clutch at the sheets, moaning and spasming. Leo keeps sucking my clit, propelling and intensifying the orgasm. He raises up to his knees, his fingers still inside of me, and grasps the shaft of his cock. I’m still withering from the climax when he lies on top of me and plunges inside of me. I’m so wet, I take all of him easily. I brace myself, ready for him to start pounding, but Leo’s still. I open my eyes to see him gazing down at me.

“Mia,” he says, his eyes soft. “I never thought I’d meet anyone like you.” He smiles that dimpled smile. “I don’t know how I got so lucky.”

My pussy is stretched full with his cock. It’s so distracting, I can’t speak. It’s like my mouth has forgotten how to form words. I look into Leo’s eyes, and I feel like I’m looking right into his soul. He’s so sincere. I know he cares about me. If I linger in this moment for too long, I’ll start to cry.

Fortunately, Leo can’t contain himself any longer, and starts to thrust his hips. The exquisite ecstasy numbs my emotions. I clutch at his muscular back as he pumps on top of me, filling me with every glorious inch of his cock. I close my eyes, letting the pleasure overtake me. My pussy pulses around him as I rise, closer and closer, to orgasm.

“Yes, Leo,” I yell as I begin to crest that peak.

“That’s it, baby. Come,” Leo commands.

Every muscle in my body tenses, then releases spectacularly, and all at once. My nerve endings buzz, raising goosebumps on my skin. Leo’s movements become more aggressive. He pounds into me relentlessly. With the final wave of my orgasm, Leo collapses on top me. I feel the entire weight of his massive body as his thick cock pulses inside of my sensitive pussy.

My eyes flutter opened and closed. I’m drunk on pleasure, and it takes me a moment to notice the sticky warm substance seeping between my legs.

“Fuck, Mia,” Leo says, kissing my ear. “I didn’t meant to come inside of you.”

  “It’s okay. I’m not ovulating.”

Leo smiles against my neck, holding me tightly. He pumps his hips into me, letting me feel his still hard cock, and pushing more of his cum out between my thighs.

“You sure?” he says. “My swimmers could be flooding your womb right now, impregnating you.”

I have no desire to get pregnant right now, but hearing him say that is so fucking hot. The possibility of him inseminating me makes me feel like I really am his. Leo kneads my breasts and kisses my neck. It feels so good to be next him. I have a vision of myself, my belly swollen with his child. But that will never happen. The sadness that comes with this realization is crushing.

I turn on my side. His cock slips out of me, leaving me feeling hopelessly empty. Leo snuggles up behind me. I bite my bottom lip, hard, and make myself speak.

“I don’t want to see you anymore.”

My words hang in the air, dark and heavy. Leo’s head jolts up.

  “What did you say?”

When I turn to him, tears are already rimming my eyes. “I’m sorry, Leo. I can’t be with someone like you. It’s too dangerous.”

Leo shakes his head in disbelief. “What the fuck are you talking about? How can you say that? After what we just did?”

“I’m sorry. I should’ve told you before we-“ My voice trails off as I become choked with emotion. “Please, Leo. Just leave.”

“No,” he says, his eyes narrowed with determination. “There’s something you’re not telling me.”

“I don’t want to get involved with the mob,” I say, raising my voice. “Can’t you understand that?”

“You said it didn’t bother you.”

I can’t bear to look at his soft, brown eyes. I face the wall. He’s so damn handsome, I don’t trust myself to look at him and break up with him at the same time.

“I thought it over, and it does bother me,” I say.

Leo is silent for a few moments. Suddenly, he lets out a low, rumbling yell and punches the mattress. I close my eyes, just wanting this moment to be over. Leo stands from the bed and stomps around the room, looking for his clothes. I hear his anger in his fuming breath. I’d be scared of him, but I know he’d never hurt me.

You had to do it, I tell myself. You’re protecting him.

  “What’s this?”

Leo’s voice is low and terrifying when he asks the questions. I open my eyes to see what he’s talking about. He’s holding the white rose, gripping it so hard I expect it to disintegrate. It must have fallen out of my bag.

I stare at it in utter shock. I don’t know how to explain it away. Leo hurls the rose across the room, then points at me. “Did Anton give you that?” His shoulders heave. His arms are clenched, and the pumping veins in his muscles are visible. “Is this why you’re breaking up with me? Because he told you to?”

“No,” I yell, rising to my knees. “I don’t want you to do something stupid, to get yourself hurt. You have to let me go, Leo.”

“Did he tell you he’d kill me?” Leo laughs maniacally. “I’ll crush that red with my bare hands.”

“Stop it,” I say. “It’s not worth it. What about the feud?”

Leo shakes his head slowly. His face is gradually turning a dark shade of crimson. He whips his head towards me, then marches towards the bed.

“Did he touch you?” Leo asks. “Did he fucking touch you?”

His eyes are practically red with anger. I can tell he’s lost all reason. His rage is consuming him.

“He didn’t touch me.” I stroke his arms, trying to calm him down. “Please, Leo. Don’t do anything impulsive.” I wrap my arms around his shoulders. “We can’t be together. I’m sorry Leo. I’m not yours.”

Leo pulls back from me, his lips pressed into a hard line. “You’re his.”

The words are like a knife in my heart. The thought puts a sour taste in my mouth. Leo shakes his head resolutely. “I don’t think so.” He bounds up from the bed and starts throwing on his clothes.

“What are you doing?” I ask, frantically.

Leo picks up a gun I didn’t know he had, and pops out the magazine. It’s fully loaded. He looks me square in the eyes.

  “I’m going to kill him.”

I jump from the bed like a banshee and grab him. “You can’t, Leo. What about your family? The Nabatovs will go after them.”

Leo’s breathing calms. I can tell he’s coming to his senses and is starting to see through his anger.

“You’ll find someone else,” I say, tears streaming down my face. “And I’ll be okay. Don’t worry about me.”

Leo stares off into the distance. I can tell he’s turning something over in his mind. “You’re right. I can’t just walk in there and blast him. I’ll have to be smarter than that.” A smile plays at the corner of Leo’s lips. He turns to me, and plants his lips against mine. “I’m going to kill him, Mia. He’ll never have you. And he’ll never know it was me.”

My tears stop flowing in an instant. I feel a spark inside of me, something that feels like hope, only bolder, more empowering. And it feels good.

“You can do that?” I ask cautiously.

  “I can, and I have.”

The determination in his voice reverberates through my core. Hot blood pumps through my veins, filling me with energy. I exhale through a broad smile, and tangle my hands in Leo’s hair.

“Let’s kill that motherfucker,” I say.

Leo grabs my ass, pressing against me. “Keep talking like that, and I’ll have to fuck you again.”

  Chapter Nine

  ———————

  Leo

  What a fucking woman.

The look in Mia’s eyes when she says she wants to kill Anton sends an intense signal, right down to my cock. I thought her innocence was hot, but seeing her shed it is even hotter. My cock pulses, telling me to throw her back on the bed and fuck her again. But there’s too much to be done. I tell Mia to buy the dress like Anton told her, and to plan to go to the party. Hopefully, he’ll be maggot food before then,
though it’s hard to tell how long these things could take. He needs to think everything’s going as planned, and that Mia is his girl now.

I give her one last kiss, then tear myself away from her lips. It’ll be the last time I see her before it all goes down. We can’t risk one of Anton’s men spotting us together.

I call Mateo and tell him to meet me at my place. My little brother sounds too excited on the other end of the phone. I’d rather not involve him at all, but I need help. I make him swear not to tell Vince, which makes him even more excited.

Mateo arrives at my apartment, fully strapped, and ready to go.

“Who’s car should we take?” Mateo asks. “You could drive, and I’ll shoot them out of the window.” He points his gun at my stove, and mimes shooting it. I put my hand on the barrel and push it down.

“It’s not going down like that,” I say. “We have to be smarter than that.”

Mateo shrugs his shoulders. “Yeah, sure. So what’s the plan?”

I show him the map laid across the kitchen counter. “This is what I need you to do.” I point at a street three blocks from the Russian’s warehouse. “I need you to park the car here, and wait.”

Mateo nods, then squints his eyes. “Then what?”

I slap him playfully on the cheek. “Then what, nothing. You wait for me. And don’t get out of the car for any reason.”

Mateo scoffs. “What are you going to do?”

“I’m going to take Anton out, and as many of his guys as possible,” I say.

“That’s selfish, man. I want to see some action.”

“Look, you want to help me or not?” I say. “I need you bro. I need you to get me the fuck out of there. It’s very important that they don’t know the attack came from us.”

Mateo nods slowly, his lips curling into a smile. “I get it. Sniper attack. You sure you don’t need a number two up there?”

“You’re more useful driving the getaway car.”

Mateo rolls his eyes, then sticks the gun back into his pants. “Fine. I’m with you, bro.”

“All right,” I say, patting his shoulder.

We spend the rest of the night studying the map and going over the plan. I’m confident nothing will go wrong. The reds won’t know what hit them until their boss is bleeding out on the ground.

We set out an hour before sunrise. I want to scope out my position while it’s still dark. It’s quiet down here in the warehouse district. I’ve always liked this time of day, how still everything is, and knowing that my enemies sleep while I’m preparing to destroy them. I strap my bag to my back and climb up the fire escape stairs. I forgot how exhilarating this is, and the serene calm that overtakes me while knowing that I’m ready for anything. I’m wearing camouflage that matches the shade of beige of this building. My steps are quiet, almost nonexistent, as I walk across the roof. My hands are steady as I set up my long range tactical rifle. I’ve done this so many times, I could do it in my sleep.

The hardest part of a mission like this is to forget about the reward, and focus on the task at hand. It’s a slow, tedious process that involves mostly waiting, and it’s best not to get ahead of yourself. That’s when you make mistakes. But the reward has never been as sweet as Mia. I can’t stop fantasizing about the next time I fuck her, knowing that she’s completely and thoroughly mine, and that asshole Anton is dead.

I have to forget my desires for now, how delicious Mia’s soft skin tastes, and how her lips fall open when she comes. I’ll never have any of that if I fuck this up.

I lie prone on the roof, balancing the barrel of my rifle on my bag in front of me. I adjust the scope, and focus on the Russian’s warehouse. I have a clear shot through the side window. It’s dark and empty inside.

I hold my position. And I wait.

  Chapter Ten

  ———————-

  Mia

I have no idea what kind of outfit to buy, so I ask Dani to come along and help. When I tell her it’s for Anton’s party, her relief is palpable. She closes her eyes with a long exhale, then straightens her back like a ton of weight has been lifted off of her shoulders.

“You came to your senses. Finally,” she says, grasping my hands.

“Yeah, I guess I did.” I say, smiling while guilt gnaws at my stomach. I wish I didn’t have to lie to her, but it’s the only way.

Dani takes me to a store that I’ve never been to before. It’s a fancy boutique, and I feel completely out of place in my off brand clothes. The well coifed saleswomen eye me warily as I rifle through the racks. Whenever I glance at the exorbitant prices on the tags, I cringe. That kind of money could buy things more important than clothes.

Dani is light as air as she searches through the dresses and makes selections for me. Once her arms are full, she takes my hand and drags me to the dressing room. I hope she doesn’t notice that my palms are clammy, and my hands are shaking. I can’t stop thinking about Leo, and wondering what he’s doing now.

I try on a red cocktail dress, and step outside to model it for Dani. She cocks her head, studying my body in the dress.

“It fits you well,” she says, running her hand down the shimmery fabric. “It just needs a few adjustments.”

Dani hikes the skirt up a couple of inches, and folds the neckline down, revealing more of my cleavage than I’m comfortable with.

I look at myself in the mirror, and my reflection makes me nauseas. I have to admit, I look good in this dress, damn good. All of my best assets are on display. But when I see myself, I see Anton’s property, a girl following his rules. I clench my teeth, hoping Leo’s already taken him out.

Dani squints at my face. “Is everything okay?”

  “No. Just nervous,” I lie.

Dani shakes her head, then looks down at her feet. “I know you don’t want to do this. But giving into Anton isn’t a weakness. It shows how strong you are.”

“I feel so powerful,” I say, sarcastically.

Dani chuckles, but her smile quickly falls. “I have a confession to make.”

I turn towards her, and wait for her to speak. She takes a deep sigh and continues.

“I had selfish reasons for pushing you towards Anton.” She bites her bottom lip and shudders. “Anton said he’d hold me responsible if you didn’t come through.”

Hot blood rushes through my veins when I think about Anton hurting Dani. I’m tempted to tell her of Leo’s plan, but decide I shouldn’t take the risk.

“Dani, I understand.” I lay my hand on her shoulder, but she doesn’t seem to notice.

“I’m really sorry, Mia.” Her voice is a strained whisper. “When I saw you and Leo together, it looked like you really had something real.”

I swallow hard, choking down my emotion. “We did,” I say, which is the most honest thing I’ve said all day.

Dani whimpers slightly, and buries her face in her hands. “It’s not fair. You should be with who you want to be with.”

“Come here.” I draw her into a hug. Dani rests her face on my shoulder. I wrap my arms around her to console her. “You’re not the bad guy. He is.” And he’ll be fucking dead soon.

  ———————

It’s a huge party. I can hear the roar of the crowd as Dani and I make our way down the street to the warehouse. Everyone sounds jubilant, and I realize, bitterly, that Anton isn’t dead yet.

Dani applies a fresh coat of cherry red lipstick to my lips before we go inside. The warehouse is packed with people, and everyone is already drinking heavily. I’m shocked to see that this is a family affair. The mobsters are with women who look to be their wives, and children of all ages are underfoot, chasing each other playfully. If I squint, it almost looks like a normal family gathering.

Nervousness pricks up my spine. What if Leo can’t go through with his plan? What if Anton lives through the night, and expects me to warm his bed?

Leo would never let that happen, and he wouldn’t let innocent people be hurt or killed. I h
ave to trust him. I have to play my part. I have to pretend.

Not long after we arrive, the crowd parts, and Anton makes his way up to me. I smell his cologne from yards away, and it immediately gives me a headache. He takes my face in his hands, and kisses me on the forehead.

“Mia, you made it,” he says. His eyes trail up and down my body. “And you look beautiful.”

I swallow my disgust, and give him a flattered smile. “Thank you,” I say with a giggle.

Anton seems pleased with my response. He takes my arm and loops it in his.

“Come,” he says, leading me away. “There’s someone very important I want you to meet.”

We walk over to the bar where a glamorous woman is sipping a martini. She’s draped in fur, and her hands and ears sparkle with diamonds. Her hands are perfectly manicured, and her hair freshly styled. It’s obvious she’s well taken care of. I’m surprised though. This isn’t the type of person I imagined Anton wanting to meet.

“Masha,” Anton says, and the woman turns towards us. The two have a brief conversation in Russian, then she looks at me, studying me closely.

Anton slips his arm around my shoulders, presenting me to the woman. “I’d like to introduce you to my new associate, Mia. Mia, this is Masha, my wife.”

I nearly choke on the air I’m breathing, and cough audibly. His wife? What is this about? Masha extends her hand to me. I shake it, numbly. Her skin is so soft, it almost doesn’t seem real.
