These Streets Don’t Love You Like I Do

Prologue
Fabion sat in his office in deep thought as he looked over the contents of the package Tone said was dropped off for him. Not only had he been through some fucked up shit in his life, but he had also done plenty of fucked up shit in his life; but this sitting in front of him was an all-time low. Nothing could have prepared him for the hurt and distrust he felt right now.
The one person he thought was down for him no matter what and was loyal to no end was looking like the most disloyal person in is life right now. Eight years, he thought as he swiped everything off his desk and the contents went flying everywhere.
Eight years he and the woman he made his fiancée had been together but yet, there she was in a ton of pictures with another man. Not just any man though, his nemesis of all people. Their relationship had been far from perfect but he didn’t think it was so bad that she had to run to the next nigga’s arms.
“Baby, where are you?” he heard from downstairs as the front door slammed.
Not even bothering to answer her, he took his nine from his top desk drawer and took the safety off before placing it in his lap. He heard her getting closer as her heels click-clacked against the hardwood floors.
“Fab, where are you?” she yelled as she walked past his office but did an about-face when she noticed him in there. “You didn’t hear me call…”
Ahnesty’s voice trailed off as she noticed the mess in his office. Something caught her eyes and she bent down to pick it up. When she noticed it was a picture of her and Khan looking a little too cozy, her heart dropped into her stomach. She felt a chill go down her spine when she heard that all too familiar sound of a gun cocking.
She looked Fabion right in his eyes as she let the picture fall to the ground. She fixed herself and stood with her spine straight, not showing an ounce of fear. Fabion could tell by the look in her eyes that she was ready for whatever. That’s a bad bitch, he thought as he put pressure on the trigger.
1
Fabion sat in his car with low eyes as he watched her like a lion stalking its prey. She was standing there talking to some dude and whatever he was saying must have been good because she was smiling from ear to ear. Her smile was something he could wake up to every morning. He saw her walking in his direction so he rolled his window down.
“Aye, Mami!” he called out to her.
She stopped in her tracks and looked around to see who he was talking to.
“Yea, you. Come here,” he told her.
“What can you do for me?” she asked when she reached his car.
“What can I do for you?” he asked, confused.
“Yea, you called me over here for a reason, so I’m wondering what could you possibly do for me,” she sassed.
He let out a little chuckle. Her attitude was turning him on.
“I can do a lot for you, Mami. I can make you feel like you’re the only girl in the world, take you places you’ve never been, show you things you’ve never seen, hit spots that you didn’t even know you had,” he told her as he licked his lips.
She smiled while rolling her eyes. “That’s cute, but how you know my nigga not already doing all that?” she questioned.
“If he was, you wouldn’t be standing here talking to me,” he said. “Is that your nigga?” He nodded his head in the direction of the dude she was previously talking to.
“Nah, it’s just a cool dude I have class with. I mean, if my nigga ever act up, I know who to call. What about you? You got a girl?”
“Maybe…possibly.” Fabion smiled.
“That must be a yes because I have a hard time believing that name on your neck in big, bold letters is your mama name.”
“Okay, you got me but what my girl don’t know won’t hurt her.” He shrugged.
“How many times has that line worked for you?” she asked with a raised eyebrow.
“It works every time.”
Ahnesty reached through the window and playfully slapped him.
“You play entirely too much for me, Fab. Don’t get fucked up,” she threatened him.
“Me? You just told me to my face that you were going to replace me with that ol square ass nigga,” he told her.
“I just need for you to know that you’re not irreplaceable.” She smirked.
“Whatever. Get ya sexy ass in the car and take a ride with ya boy.”
Ahnesty happily bounced over to the passenger’s side of the car and hopped in. As soon as she got in, she grabbed Fabion’s face and kissed him with everything she had in her. She sucked on his bottom lip for a little before finally letting him do.
“I missed you, little dude.” Fab smiled.
Ahnesty playfully rolled her eyes. “I missed you, too. So, how was your trip?” she asked.
For the past week and a half, Fabion had been in Miami on one of his business trips. Ahnesty was far from dumb; she knew it didn’t take him a whole week to discuss business.
“It was cool,” he said.
“Cool, huh? So how much fun did you actually have?” she quizzed.
“Ahni, chill out. A nigga only been back for a few and you already starting. The first thing I did when I touched down in Michigan was come see you. Don’t start that shit with me,” he fussed.
“Dead ass?” she asked as she looked at him like he was crazy. “Take me back to my car. I’m straight on you,” she told him.
Every time Fabion went out of town to handle some business, he would always come back with an attitude or act like an asshole, as if he was mad that he had to bring his ass home. She wasn’t about to play this game with him today, she could be at home studying and doing homework.
“Nope, since you wanna talk about people having fun and shit, let’s talk about what you did while I was gone,” he threw at her.
By now, Ahnesty had an attitude and wasn’t in the mood to talk to Fabion. Her cellphone vibrated with a text message so she checked it to see who it was, ignoring whatever Fabion was saying.
Emani: Me, you, club? Tonight?
Before she could even reply to the message, her phone was being snatched out of her hand.
“See, that’s your damn problem now,” Fabion said as he read the text message.
Fabion couldn’t stand Ahnesty’s cousin Emani. Every time the two linked up, she got Ahnesty in some bullshit and had her doing stuff she had no business doing. He had told Ahnesty plenty of times to stop hanging with the broad but she was so damn hardheaded.
“Don’t think I don’t know about you running all over the city following behind Emani’s trifling ass while I was gone. What did I tell you about that?”
“What difference does it make? I know your ass wasn’t down in Miami being a saint nor the perfect boyfriend. Besides, Emani is blood, my first cousin at that. We were raised together and I’m not cutting her off just because you don’t like her,” she sassed.
Fab had to bite the inside of his cheek to prevent himself from cussing her out. He didn’t give a damn who Emani was or whose blood she had running through her. If Ahnesty didn’t start listening, he had something for her ass.
2
Ahnesty stood in the full length mirror examining herself in her outfit. She pulled at the hem of the dress to pull it down some and Emani slapped her hand away. She looked at her as if she had lost her mind.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” Ahnesty asked.
“Ahni, that dress is fine. I preferred t
he other one, but this one is cute,” Emani said.
“No, that dress you bought me was slutty. That may be a good look for you but that’s not my style.”
“But this is?” Emani asked as she pointed at the dress Ahnesty currently had on.
It was a tight-fitting black dress that was cut out on the sides and stopped thigh length. Ahnesty kept looking at herself in the dress wondering if she should change because she had gained a little weight in her hips and thighs and didn’t know if she should be wearing it.
“Ehh, okay, I’m ready,” she said as she grabbed her phone and tried dialing Fabion’s number for the third time that night.
Ever since their little fake argument yesterday, he hadn’t been answering her calls. He had his twin Faizon drop some money off to her and that was it. She knew he was salty because she didn’t want to cut her cousin out of her life.
“Girl, come on,” Emani huffed as she dragged her from the bedroom.
When they pulled up to the club, Ahnesty applied her black lipstick to make her outfit pop. Even though it would be dark in the club, she still wanted to look good. The line for the club was wrapped around the corner.
“Ugh, waiting in lines is something I don’t do,” Ahnesty said as they climbed out of Emani’s truck.
“And you think I do? I know the owner so we’ll get let in,” Emani assured her.
Ahnesty knew when Emani said she knew the owner, ten times out of ten that meant she was fucking the owner. Ahnesty shook her head at her cousin’s promiscuity, wondering how she ended up being such a hoe.
As soon as they reached the building, Ahnesty smirked at all the envious stares and looks they were getting from the other females and the lustful looks they were getting from the dudes.
“What up, Mani? Boss said he got everything set up for you in VIP,” the bouncer said as he removed the rope that was blocking the entrance and granted the two ladies access.
“Thank you, Mark.” Emani smiled as they walked in.
“The power of the ‘P’.” Ahnesty smiled.
“It’s such a beautiful thing, isn’t it?” Emani joked.
Emani led Ahnesty to the VIP section where they were granted access immediately. Emani stopped to introduce Ahnesty to a few people she knew. Ahnesty was so caught up being a socialite that she never noticed Fab and his crew on the other end of VIP.
“Yo, ain’t that wifey over there?” Tone, Fab’s left-hand man, asked.
“Who?” everyone asked, knowing damn well it better not had been their wife in attendance.
“Ahni,” Tone said, and all eyes traveled to Fab.
Fab put his drink down and squinted his eyes as he watched Emani introduce Ahnesty to somebody and the two shook hands longer than they needed to. Everyone watched as the dude stood up and whispered something in Ahnesty’s ear. She politely shook her head no and tried to walk away but he grabbed her wrist and brought her back.
“You want me to handle that, Boss?” Zo, one of his guards, asked.
“Yea, and bring her to me,” Fab said calmly.
Ahnesty had just turned down this dude she now knew as Prince for the second time when she looked up to see Zo walking in their direction. She backed up a little and looked around because if Zo was there, that could only mean that Fab was there.
“Let’s go, Ahni. Boss wants you,” Zo said in his deep baritone.
Without protest or saying another word, she followed behind Zo to the other end of the club. She felt as if she was taking the dead man’s walk when she reached the table that Fab and all his boys were sitting at.
“Hey, Ahni,” everyone spoke.
“Hey, everybody,” she spoke back.
Fab beckoned her to come to him with his finger and she did so. He scooted his chair back and tapped his lap for her to sit down. As soon as she sat down, Fab lightly pulled her hair and brought her head closer to him.
“You know you fucked up, right?” he whispered in her ear.
He looked down at the little ass dress she was wearing and his hands traveled up her thighs. Knowing she didn’t have any panties on, Ahnesty clamped her thighs together so his hands couldn’t go any further.
“Open em,” he demanded.
“Fab, I…”
She trailed her sentence off, knowing it was no point. She slightly opened her legs and Fab found exactly what he was looking for. He inserted his middle finger in her and Ahnesty looked around nervously, hoping they weren’t being watched. Knowing Fabion didn’t give a fuck and was a nasty nigga, she tried not to let out a moan when he brushed up against her clit.
“Why you always wanna play with me? I see I’m going to have to start putting your ass in check,” he said as he removed his fingers and put them in his mouth. “Let’s go.”
Ahnesty got off his lap and stood up, fixing her dress. Fab grabbed a hold of her waist and pulled her close to him as they walked out of VIP together. He led her out of the backdoor where his truck was parked. He hit the locks and told her to get in.
“Backseat,” he instructed.
Doing as she was told, Ahnesty climbed in the backseat and waited anxiously as Fabion got in after her. He scooted down in the seat and she straddled his lap while licking and kissing on his neck where he had her name tattooed on him as she unbuckled his belt.
Once she had his belt undone, she reached her hand inside his boxers and grabbed his dick that was already rock hard. Her mouth started to water just thinking about the ten inches she was about to receive.
“Condom?” she asked.
“For what?” he retorted.
“I’m late for my shot, Fab,” she informed him.
The two had made it very clear that they weren’t ready for kids yet. She was only twenty-one and a junior in college. He was twenty-four and starting to rise in the drug game.
“Chill, I’ll pull out,” he told her.
Knowing he was lying but too horny to protest any longer, she lifted up and slid down his shaft slowly while hissing in the process. Every time she and Fab had sex it was always pain before pleasure. Fabion had to bite his lip to keep from moaning out like a bitch. Ahnesty was always so damn wet and tight whenever he slid up in her.
She started to rotate her hips slowly while staring Fab right in his eyes. She raised her eyebrow when she noticed a devilish smirk come across his face. Fabion grabbed ahold of her hips and slightly lifted her up and he started fucking her from the bottom.
“Shit!” Ahnesty yelled as her head fell back. “Fab, wait,” she pleaded as he rammed all ten inches of his dick into her forcefully.
Ignoring her pleas, Fabion continued to ram into her. Ahnesty had been getting a little out of hand lately with her smart ass mouth and attitude so he was going to have to put her ass in check. What better way to do that than fucking the shit out of her?
“You better start listening to me, Ahni,” he told her.
He lifted her body up without slipping out of her and switched positions so that she was now sitting on the seat and he was on his knees pumping in and out of her. Ahnesty’s mouth formed a ‘o’ shape like she wanted to say something but nothing came out. She put her hand on his stomach to push him back some but he slapped her hand away.
“You gonna start listening?” he asked as he pulled out, only leaving the tip in before ramming back into her.
“Oh shit, yesss!” she yelled out.
“Yes, what?” Fab messed with her.
“Yes, daddy, I’ll listen. Shit, Fab, I love you,” she said as she felt herself about to cum.
TAT-TAT POP POP!
Just when they were about to cum together, gunshots rang out. Ahnesty screamed for her life as Fab pushed her down on the floor of the truck while he reached under the driver’s seat for his gun. While he was trying to pull his pants up, he noticed his brother and Tone run out the back door.
As soon as he sat up, the back window was shot out.
“Shit!” he yelled as he ducked.
He lifted up and starte
d shooting at the black truck that was shooting at them. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see his brother go down. Finally, fire ceased and he jumped out of the car with Ahnesty right on his heels.
“Tone, take her and put her in your truck,” he said as he rushed to his brother’s side.
Ahnesty was so shaken up that she couldn’t even walk straight; she was literally shaking. Tone picked her up and carried her to his truck and made sure she was okay.
“You good, nigga?” Faizon asked his twin.
“Me? Nigga, you’re the one that’s shot,” Fab told him.
Whoever was shooting didn’t have any fucking aim because they only hit him in his leg and only one bullet hit Fabion’s truck. Tone walked back over to where they were.
“Nigga, I got him. You just go check on Ahni. Lil mama over there freaking out. Just take my truck back to your house, I’ll drive Zon’s,” Tone told Fab.
“Okay.”
Fabion rushed over to Tone’s truck and drove off while Ahnesty silently cried and shook in the passenger’s seat. He felt bad as hell that she had to go through that shit tonight. That’s exactly why he didn’t like her going out. Shit was always going down and he would paint the whole city of Detroit red if something ever happened to her.

The days following the shooting, Ahnesty stayed in the house and missed a whole week of classes because she refused to leave the house. She was regretting that she had even gone out that night. Listening to Emani could have possibly caused her to lose her life. She knew what Fabion was into; he always tried to keep her from his street life but that night, the two crossed paths and met each other.
She looked up from the paper she was typing when she heard her front door opening. In walked Fab looking like the weight of the world was on his shoulders. She was starting to feel bad that she had been ignoring him for the past week.
He walked in and removed the laptop from her lap and put it on the coffee table in front of her before plopping down on the couch and pulling her onto his lap.
