Secrets of the Fortress 'The Law' Page 7

Evalle looked at Jasper. Everything that has been going on for the last few days have been important. “What is it? Please tell me. I have to return to my training in earnest.”

“Have you ever encountered the name TITANIA?” Jasper looked at Evalle as he saw her face change and her features darken. He knew immediately that something was going to happen. Something really bad.

Evalle looked at Justin in the eye. She tried to suppress the anger that was growing inside her. He mentioned Titania? That ugly thing with a thousand voices. How does he know her? Oh no! God please don’t let them be related. “I know her. I killed her.” Evalle said, trying not to reveal her shaky voice.

Jasper shrieked inside of him. She killed Titania? Titania wants revenge. This I not happening. Not when we are planning on gaining our freedom. “Oh God. Titania revealed herself to me in my sleep. I think I was in a trance.”

Evalle was frightened. She didn’t stop it from showing on her face. She thought she killed Titania. Ten years ago, precisely. “What did she say she wants?”

“She wants you. She said I should tell you that he is coming for you.”

“Coming for me? She wants a rematch?” She is detestable. Why won’t she leave me alone? Evalle remembered when Titania promised to come back to kill her. Wasn’t ten years to long for someone to be keeping a grudge? Evalle’s shoulders sank. It felt like heavy sacs had been placed on them. She forced herself not to cry. Another thing had been given to her to think of. She saw Jasper move towards her and rocked her gently in his hands.

Evalle closed her eyes. She tried to focus. What she saw sent shivers down her spine. She jumped out of Jasper’s hands.

Natalie opened her eyes to see two people staring at her. Looking on the outside of her window, she could tell that it was evening. The day had gone by, yet she had not trained. How long did she sleep? She looked at the familiar faces that were staring at her. Her two companions. Evalle and Justin. Natalie couldn’t remember what happened to her. All she remembered was that she had fallen into a deep sleep she never thought she would survive from.

Natalie tried to remember where she had been when her body was sleeping. She closed her eyes and the memories flooded back.

Natalie was sitting at the beach. She saw Jasper run towards her. She smiled and winked at him. Everything turned pitch black. Natalie was frightened. Where had jasper gone to? And the beach. Natalie folded her arms across her chest and crossed her legs. She was frightened. Yet she was still confident. The place turned miserably cold. Natalie shivered. She didn’t know when she slept off. After all her limbs went numb. She was awoken by a loud shriek. Natalie looked out for where the sound was coming from, but she found nothing. She was frightened.

A large creature bounced around the room in front of her. The way it moved and the noise it gave, made Natalie’s heart, beat twice as fast. It was a giant creature. Nothing like whatever she had seen in her lifetime. The place became bright.

Natalie saw what stood in front of her. She gasped. A demon. She screamed. “DEMON!” The creature laughed. It’s voice sounded like that of a million. Natalie shrieked. She tried to stand up. He body couldn’t carry her. She wailed. She knew it was going to be the last of her. After all her training, she couldn’t still defeat the troll looking Demon.

Natalie noticed that it had four large breasts, each thrice the size of hers, and six eyes. She looked down to see a long, shapeless penis dangling between its thighs. She vomited. She never expected her death to be that way, with all the good she had done in her life. Why? “What do you want from me?”

The creature laughed again and the whole room vibrated. Tears fell freely from Natalie’s eyes. She couldn’t wipe them because her hands remained still.

There was no air in the room, Natalie had nothing to control. She wondered how she breathe. Natalie closed her eyes as the demon closed in on her. She smelt its disgust. Flies oozed from its mouth, so did stench. Evalle had to take it all in.

The demon spoke with its thunderous voice. “You are going to deliver a message to Evalle. Tell her she’s going to die.”

Natalie interrupted the demon. “Evalle? What does she have to do with you disgusting ..ouch..” Natalie felt her muscles twitch and her bones twist. She begged for mercy.

“Just deliver my message. Tell her that I, Titania sent you.”

Evalle and Jasper couldn’t stop staring at Natalie. Had Titania grown more powerful? Why would she send her two best friends to warn her of her return? Is she that bent on killing me? Evalle stared at the ceiling, and then at Natalie. The day had been a really stressful one. With death on its way, Evalle wondered how Titania would reach her since her body had been destroyed. Natalie and Jasper had been through a lot. She would not like to put them at further risks.

Evalle got to her house and opened the door. The room smelt stale. Like no one had been living there for years. The place smelt like a waste bin and flies swarmed everywhere. Evalle ran out of the house. She remembered what Jasper and Natalie told her. Was Titania already in her house? She shrieked as she peeped through the windows. The house was dark and empty. Evalle knew that something was wrong. She stepped into the house again. She was welcomed by cobwebs. She saw spiders spinning their webs all over the place.

Evalle used her powers to wipe them all away. She stared at the ceiling, then at the floor. She remembered Douglas and Germane. She ran to her room. They both lay on the floor, lifeless. Their bodies had returned to normal, but cold and limp. Evalle wept bitterly. She held them in her arms and cried.

Evalle couldn’t stand the sight of her poor pets. They had done nothing wrong and yet life had taken its cruel toll on them. She knew it was the work of Titania. She had left her silly flies and stench. Evalle was annoyed. Her gut told her that Titania might still be in the house. Since she was dead, she wouldn’t be able to reveal herself in flesh form. Evalle screamed as she cuddled the lifeless creatures in her arms.

Evalle knew that no matter how much she tried to revive the animals, it was too late. They were dead, long before she arrived. She wasn’t the one who looked for trouble, it was Titania. Yet she wants to have revenge. Evalle hissed sorrowfully as she used her magic to burn the corpses laying on the floor. She walked to the living room, tear drops still fell from her eyes but she made no attempt of wiping it off.

Evalle jumped up when she saw the flies hovering around her kitchen. She ran out again. The stench they brought with them was awfully horrible. She perceived that Titania was in her house and was watching her. Evalle wanted to end it at once. She was getting tired and frustrated.

Since Titania couldn’t appear in human form, Evalle knew it had to be in the non physical form. She walked back to her bedroom and laid on he bed. She felt herself drift away from her body.

  * * *

Evalle carried herself towards the kitchen. She knew her recently discovered ability was for a purpose. A purpose she just discovered. Titania stood at the door of the kitchen. Her sight was terrible. Evalle was disgusted and felt compelled to throw up. She knew that was the first thing that would happen immediately she gets back to her body. Evalle looked at Titania. What on earth is this? Titania? This is her real self? She saw Titania smiling at her. Evalle couldn’t be easily fooled by a smile. She braced herself for what was going to happen next.

Titania snarled. She began to talk. Her voice was now high pitched but still high. Evalle closed her ears. She picked some of the words that came out of Camilla’s mouth. “Now you will die.”

Evalle didn’t wait to hear more as she entered fighting mode. She was in rage and noticed that she was stronger in the less physical realm. Some people called it GHOST REALM. Evalle’s eyes and hair turned blood red. She was boiling. Not only because of her pets, also because of her friends. Titania had the guts to torture the friends she had managed to make.

Evalle was less concerned about Titania’s size and shape as she pounced on her. T
he stench didn’t disturb her any longer as her powers helped her to protect her nose. Titania was shocked, but tried hard not to let it show. She didn’t know and couldn’t believe that Evalle could be as strong as she was. It was ten times the strength she had when she first saw her. Titania raised up her hands and blocked the punch she saw coming to her eyes.

Evalle appeared at Titania’s back and gave her a hard kick. Titania yelled. “You thought me that.” Evalle said as she disappeared from behind Titania. “You thought me that didn’t you?”

Titania did not hide the disappointment from her face as she lurched herself in the air and released a loud shrieking sound. She fell atop Evalle.

Evalle stamped on Titania’s back. Her teleportation was getting better. She knew she would have been crushed. The air still smelt dead and stale. Evalle knew it would only be for a while.

Green substance oozed from Titania’s back as sharp blades sliced them.

Evalle left her. She believed Titania wanted her to lose all her strength before attacking her with full force.

Evalle didn’t miss the brief smile that crept on Titania’s face as she faded away. Evalle looked around to see where Titania was. She could see nothing. She maintained her fighting stance.

Evalle collapsed as she felt a large substance hit her head. She looked up to see Titania staring at her. Her eyes were a bit blurred, but she managed to stand.

Evalle disappeared. She was in her invisible mode and she knew that Titania would not be able to see her. She crept around and settled herself on the couch. She intended to rest for a while and watch as Titania searched for her.

Evalle knew how to end the battle. Finish her off without revealing herself. She didn’t know if Titania could still read mind. She needed to be cautious.

Evalle ran out of her chair and thrust her blades into Titania’s back. Titania swung around and saw no one. The green substance still came out of the wound. Evalle moved to her front but some distance away and threw blades into Titania’s breasts.

Titania shrieked. She wanted to return to the land of the spirits. She no longer had the power to do so. She had underestimated her and she would die the second time.

Evalle flew and sent pins of lightning power into Titania’s head. Satisfied, she revealed herself.

Titania screamed as she fell to the floor. Most of the flies had died. Green, sticky substance stained the floor. And Titania shook vigorously. She knew she would not be able to go back to the land of the spirits but will be sent to the bottomless pit. Only if she was given enough time to recuperate. One she knew Evalle wouldn’t spare her.

Evalle knew she had to be fast. She wasn’t sure how many hours it had taken them, but she

Knew she had to end it in time.

Evalle plunged her fire covered foot into Titania’s stomach and watched her scream and then fade to blackness.

  CHAPTER 12

Evalle stood up from the bed. She was not sure if she had been dreaming or if she truly fought the demon. All she knew was that Titania was gone for good. It was the fourth day of training and so much had happened already. She was going to visit Natalie and train later in the day. She sighed as she remembered the power feeding. She missed natural foods.

Evalle walked out of the bathroom naked. She saw someone sitting at the edge of her bed and she jumped back into the bathroom, cursing herself for being so stupid and not remembering the previous incident. She stepped out of the bathroom again, her long towel was wrapped her body. The person that was sitting at the edge of her bed was still there. It looked like he had not moved at all. She watched his back closely and tried to listen, to know if he was living. The man did not move neither did he breathe.

She spun and hopped out of the room, panting heavily. She knew she could not go out of the house, wrapped in a towel, yet, she could not go into her room to pick her clothes. Evalle got to the sitting room to find the same man sitting on the chair. His back was facing her. She fell to the floor and wept. She wasn't expecting it. She wanted to jump to his front and land his ugly face a slap. Her body wouldn't bulge. She sat on the floor and hugged her legs.

The voice was in her ear as a loud gush of waters. She knew it was inhuman. The man was not a living thing. What would a ghost want with her. The creature turned to her direction. She gasped and left her mouth agape. It sported long, and sharp fangs. Blood was dripping from them. What the heck is this? What on earth does it want with me?

Evalle had heard about vampires, but she didn't believe that they existed. They were dead but living. She knew that was why she couldn't find any signs of life. But they told her that vampires were myths. She was looking at the proof that vampires were real.

The vampire looked at her with deadly eyes. Evalle froze. She didn't want to move so that it would not kill her. She knew that if she tried to fight it, she would lose and die as a delicious meal. She watched as the vampire floated around the room. "What do you want from me?" Evalle tried to hide her shaky voice.

The vampire's dark green eyes sparkled and it hopped at her. She tried to cover her eyes with her hands. The next thing she felt was a piercing on her neck. She screamed. Time froze. She felt blood leaving her body. She knew something else was happening inside her body, but she couldn't tell what it was. She felt weak and collapsed. Is that what it wanted? To kill her?

Jasper stood up from his bed and stretched. His body pains had gone. He felt as good as new. He recalled the events of the previous day. He knew Evalle may not tell him what she had to do with the beast. He hoped she destroys it and put an end to its misery. Jasper jumped out of the bathtub when he noticed it was already time for the day's training. He picked up his towel and left the bathroom. He put on a black hoodie on blue jeans trousers. He walked out of the room.

Jasper thought of how everything would be once they were granted their freedom. It would be very hard. They just had to cooperate. He thought of Natalie. Something was going on with her, Something he could not pin point. Then the thought of Evalle came to his mind. He had not seen her since she had left Natalie's house the previous evening. He had to go to the guy that forged magical items. He couldn't even remember his name. Jasper continued to walk slowly to the house. Before getting to the site, he decided to visit Natalie.

Jasper entered Natalie's house. Her parents were out for training. Jasper hoped that she would be at home. He wanted to see her. He missed her. He didn't know what it meant, but he had a weird feeling towards her. The kind he only had when he was with his wife. Before she passed on. His wife had been his only support. She died when they were about to have their first child. Jasper didn't want to remember again, but he couldn't forget. The pain he saw in her eyes as she tried to deliver the child they had been expecting for three years.

Jasper searched all the outer parts of the house. Nobody was there. There was no trace of Natalie. She was supposed to be at home because of the previous experience. He didn't want to enter her room. His hormones may take the better part of his thinking. He knew he would not be able to stop himself. The last time it happened was before he got married to his wife. The lady was alone in the house and they were going to discuss on a powerful enchantment they had been working on.

Jasper entered the lady's house. She called herself Jasmine. He walked immediately to her bedroom where she was waiting for him. She was beautiful. Her golden locks covered a part of her eyes. She lay on the bed. Her hips were perfectly placed. Jasper let his eyes travel down her body as he imagined her naked skin under the piece of fabric she was wearing. He climbed on her bed and watched her eyes follow him. She sat up and smiled at him "So, let's get to business." Jasper didn't remember what he had come there for. What he remembered was jumping on her and ripping her clothes off.

Natalie stood up from her bed. She felt refreshed. She felt as if eyes had been watching her since she slept off the previous evening. She sat up on her bed. She could feel her head pounding in rhymes with her
heartbeat. She held it and whispered. 'Go away' To her surprise, she didn't feel it again. She didn't know how strong she had become over the night. All she knew was it was not natural. The power feeding was working. She knew what would happen in the nearest future. She was not going to disclose to anyone.

She walked out of her room to the bathroom. She felt strong. Her bodily flexed as she stepped into the tub. The water flowed down her skin. She enjoyed the feeling it sent her. She thought of Jasper, the cute guy who had acknowledged her when everyone called her ugly. She didn't know what she could do about him. She loved him and she knew it. The only problem she had was telling him how much he meant to her. She enjoyed his company and she wanted more of it. Jasper.

Natalie wiped the drops of water on her body with a blue towel. She heard footsteps approaching. She used the wind to search for who was coming. She couldn't get the face. She put on her yellow lacy bra and pink pants. She threw on a turquoise blue gown and wore her cream slippers. She didn't care much about fashion and didn't waste the better part of her morning, searching for clothes with similar colors. She loved to be simple. She braided her hair in peak tail. The freckles on her cheeks are more obvious when she smiles. Natalie smiled.

She remembered that someone was approaching her house. She hopped at her window, hoping to see the person's face. Nobody was there. The person was too fast. Natalie gathered courage and peeped through the hole of her room door. A man was there. Searching the house, looking for something, or someone. Evalle caught the face. Jasper. What was he doing in her house? He continued searching. Then he stopped and waited for a while before continuing his search. Jasper was walking in her house. She wanted to come out of her room, but she had a better idea. She ducked under a dark cupboard and shut it.
