The Wayward Sons: Starlee's Heart: WhyChoose Contemporary Young Adult Romance Page 18

by Angel Lawson

I have no doubt my mother will take me out of this place. I’m seventeen and I’ll leave the minute my birthday hits. When that day comes I’ll fight hell or highwater to get back out there. Back to my Wayward Sons.

I may not be able to stay in Lee Vines, but I can do the right thing before leaving.

I open the door and step inside, heads turning in my direction. I smile, knowing this is right. I can’t fix everything—not yet—but before I go I’ll do everything in my power to save one of the boys I love, because if there’s one thing they’ve taught me it’s that family don’t end in blood.

And I’m here to fight for my family.

Book 2 of the Wayward Son’s series is on pre-order on Amazon! If you’d like to follow my releases, news and receive updates please join my Facebook group, Angel’s Antics! Also, you can find me on twitter @theangellawson. Come say hi. I do have cookies but they’re gluten free.

  Dear Readers!

A few notes about The Wayward Sons and Starlee. First of all I took a trip last summer for my first long-term road type trip from Nevada to San Francisco. I’d never done anything like that and the landscape just amazed me. As we drove through different little towns, the desert, stopping in quirky museums, diners, shops and eventually Lee Vinings, CA outside Yosemite, I took notes and caught the threads of a story in my head. The name Starlee comes from a reporter on NPR that has her own podcast and I had the thought to name a character after her one day, because it’s such a unique, fun name. Anyway, the day after we left Lee Vinings and headed into Yosemite the massive fire started mid-way through the day. The rest of our time there (cut short even) was amazing but filled with smoke and closed off areas. It sucked but it also made me cherish the clear skies of Lee Vinings, Mono Lake and Bodie even more. The Wayward Son’s just came to me out of my basic love for Supernatural. It just fit. And I hope to give you more of these Wayward Son’s as well as future Son’s that live in Sierra’s home.

Thank yous go to my regulars but please give my ARC group a thumbs up for being on double duty this month! VC Edits for her work, AngstyG for always making my covers amazeballs, Jennifer for holding my hand and telling me I’m not a hack. And of course Sam, Dean and everyone else who provides the most amazing inspiration a girl could need.

  Until next time!
