Rohan's Calling Online Page 43

“Well, ultimately it was my decision. Plus, to look at the bright side, I did have some really fun adventures, so I can only thank you. On top of that, I am rich now.”

At that moment I had a sudden idea. Dev had always complained about being poor… maybe I could fix that complaint of his.

“Hold on for a moment,” I said to Dev. Next, I activated the Money Transfer spell.

A notification appeared in my vision

Would you like to transfer money to a person in Prithvi or in the real world?

  Real world please.

  Another pop up appeared.

Would you like to send money to the person through their phone number that is linked with their bank account?

That should be quick, I thought and I selected the option.

“Um, hey Dev, is this the phone number that is linked with your bank account?”

“Um, yeah,” Dev said, sounding confused at why I was suddenly asking that.

I immediately typed Dev’s phone number into the box. Another box appeared prompting me to enter the game world gold that I wanted to transfer. I entered 100,000. The sum was immediately changed to real world money and amounted to 25000 . It surely was a nice sum. Dev would be ecstatic!

And then I selected send. A notification appeared saying that the transfer had been successful.

“Have you received any new messages?” I asked Dev.

“It seems I have, let me check.”

The shriek of astonishment that erupted from Dev’s side confirmed that he had received my money. I couldn’t help but grin.

“Did- did you send this?” Dev asked me and he sounded like he was panting.

  “Yup!”

  “I- I don’t know what to say.”

“Why don’t you do this: Buy a couple of legit game capsules for yourself and your wife and then the two of you can come and visit me.”

There was a moment of silence as Dev seemed to contemplate over my words.

“That’s exactly what I will do,” he finally said.

  Chapter 40

I went out of my room. The door of the next room was open and I saw a person lying on the bed. It was none other than Grimguy. I went and stood at his door. He seemed to be staring intently at the ceiling, thinking something.

“Hey,” I said. He looked up to me with a smile.

“Hey, Rohan,” Grimguy said. “You know, I just woke up from a really strange dream.”

I reckoned all the deleted players who had been brought back now felt like they had woken up from some dream.

“Was I in it?” I asked, though I knew the answer.

Grimguy looked at me pouting his lips in thought.

“Yes, you were there,” he said.

Two days later Dev and his wife came to the game world. Since I could contact anyone that was inside Prithvi and also in the real world as long as I knew their number, I told them to meet me at a certain point in the bank of the blood river. It was a very pleasant experience to meet Dev and his wife. The two of them had retained their appearances from the real world. Dev still was chubby, which was a good thing.

From that day onwards, I settled well for my new life in Prithvi, one that was free from Death13. I would go with my friends to hunt Raks. We would eat in the Dino restaurant and we would go to distant places in Prithvi through the portal near the pond in Rakshasha land. One day even Babaguy and Mastermind showed up. They told me that the boss of the Kartoshi gang had died in the real world after being hit by a car when he was running from the police. I was happy for the two of them.

But there was something missing from my life. It pained my heart inwardly, though I moved about my life putting up a smile.

  Lovebird.

And one day that pain went by when I woke up to see Lovebird sleeping besides me on my bed.

I had quite a start. She laughed. Oh, how I loved the sound of her voice!

“I- I,” I said, because I didn’t know what to say. I was so happy to see her.

For a moment Lovebird just kept laughing looking at me.

“The war in my country has ended!” she said. “The war has ended!”

  Author’s Note:

  Thanks for reading the story.

I have been dreaming up stories ever since I was four. It is said that change is the only constant, but for me there is another constant: writing. Creating imaginary worlds and people is what gives meaning to my life.

I hope you enjoyed Rohan’s Calling Online. It took a lot of energy and effort to write this story, but despite that I was enjoying every moment of working on this book.

If you didn’t like the story, then I am sorry, I tried. Be sure to leave a review on Amazon, as reviews are an indie author’s best friend. Praise me like I am Shakespeare or shoot me down with criticism. I’ll be thankful for both.

If you think I can improve in anyway, please send your suggestions to my email [email protected]
