“Five times,” Dru didn’t want to admit that she had only had sex on one occasion when she gave her body to five male guards so that she could escape the Exterior. It had been both a degrading and terrifying experience. She had been a virgin. She thought she knew what to expect but those men had been brutal to her. The last thing she wanted was to let anyone here know what she had done. She knew the computers monitoring her would show a lie, so she answered this question as honestly as she could, five guards had sex with her once, one right after the other and some at the same time. She didn’t want to think about it more than an instant to answer the question.
“A week?”
“Ever,” Dru hoped this would be the end of the questioning.
“Five times with one man or different men?”
“Different men.”
“How old were you?”
“Six…Eighteen.”
“Sixteen?”
Dru nodded.
“And the time after that?”
“All when I was sixteen,” Dru could see the other women from the Dakota looking at her in shock and looked away. She didn’t want to answer these questions in front of them. They would think she was wanton just giving herself to five men as she couldn’t explain it was to escape. It was illegal to escape the Exterior. There was supposed to be a legal way to apply to leave, but she had never seen or heard of it until she was already on the outside, and she doubted it truly existed. Dru looked up at the doctor and pleaded mentally, Please don’t ask me anymore about this. She repeated this mantra over and over in her mind, hoping the doctor would hear her.
The doctor did hear her and gave her a slight nod and noted,
First sexual encounter, raped, possibly more than once by five men. She is blocking me. The memory is too strongly connected to so many others to erase or decrease its visibility without strong personality alteration. No sexual relationships following. Recommend monitored sexual therapy and psychoanalysis.
The doctor said quietly, “Sex is a natural part of life. A healthy adult should be averaging at least one sexual encounter a week or every two weeks minimally. Your lack of experience after your first encounter makes me wonder if you are somehow physically defect. We’ll need to perform more exams to make sure you are completely healthy in this regard.”
Dru suddenly felt sensations in her anus, clitoris and vagina and jumped. She looked up at the doctor for an explanation.
The doctor was looking at her brain scans.
“What are you doing?” Dru demanded trying to squirm away from the robot, but she knew what the robot was doing, thrusting the equivalent of a penis in and out of her vagina in a very pleasing motion. She was sure her cheeks were hot with embarrassment. She looked over and everyone was watching her. She was too upset to read any of their thoughts, and she didn’t want to hear them anyway.
“We’re checking that you are sexually healthy, that the reward centers in your brain are activated with arousal and orgasm. Your lack of experience makes me wonder if your libido is healthy or if you have a mental block that hampers your sex drive. Just relax Drusilla.”
Dru tried desperately again to remove the devices from her body. She felt that was the least she could do to show her crewmates that she was not just lying down to enjoy this in front of them all. The robot just spouted more arms to hold her down. It was humiliating, she didn’t want to orgasm in front of everyone while a robot pleasured her. She stole a glance again over at the rest of her crew mates, hoping that they would turn away for her sake, but they were all watching her, and in that moment, she hated them for it. She tried to free herself again, but the robot was holding her down so tightly she could not move even a millimeter. It wasn’t long before she could feel her body reacting to the robot’s movements, in and out of her vagina, the deft feather like touch on her clitoris and the slight spread in her anus. Her vagina was becoming so wet with her own fluids she could hear the swishing sound of the robot’s appendage moving in and out of her. Minutes passed and she felt the building sensation in her body, even though she was doing everything she could to resist it, but she couldn’t stop it. Her body began tensing and finally the release of an orgasm went rushing through her like a hot trembling wave, but the robot didn’t stop, it kept going.
She heard the doctor somewhere say, “We are checking multiple orgasms now.”
Dru closed her eyes; her body was riding out these forced orgasms right there in this clean and clinical space port medical center with an audience. She almost blacked out from the sensations and in that moment, she didn’t care that everyone saw or heard her moans of pleasure. She couldn’t help herself. She couldn’t control her body’s responses. When she came back from the bliss of the orgasms, the robot released her and removed the devices and then cleaned her with a cleaning solution. She could see on the medical screens what she assumed was a record of her heart rate, temperature, breathing, brain activity and convulsions. She felt deeply embarrassed and violated. She knew tears began streaming down the sides of her face, when she came to terms with what had just happened, but she didn’t care about that either. How dare they do this, she thought angrily.
“You never had an orgasm like that with any of your lovers?”
She ignored the doctor and the doctor asked three more times. Finally, the robot gave her a small electric shock. “No,” she replied quietly as she tried to wipe away the tears.
“Never?”
“No.”
“By yourself?”
“No,” Dru had never masturbated. At home she shared a bed with her sisters. During the days, she was never alone, except in the outhouse, and there was nothing sexy about a hole that smelled of excrement. After her sexual encounter with the guards. She never wanted to be reminded of what had happened to her. She never wanted to relive it, but her mind wouldn’t let it rest. Whenever she was turned on sexually, her mind would return to that night. When a man got too close it would remind her of one of the men who used her.
“Never?”
“No.”
The doctor shook her head, “Let me assure you, despite your lack of experience, there is nothing wrong with your sexual responses or anatomy. You are perfectly healthy. I would recommend though that you practice sex. It is unhealthy for you to continue this way. Sex is an integral part of Alliance culture; you must learn to enjoy it. I’m perplexed why you feel so violated now. Your responses to the exam were natural and healthy. You’re among women now and our sexuality is natural. As I said, there is nothing to be ashamed of. Please stop crying.” After a minute, the doctor decided to move on with the exam even though Dru had not stopped crying, “Any serious illnesses in your life?”
“No,” another lie.
The doctor noted,
Lies about past illnesses. Telepathic probing reveals she is concerned what her crewmates think, not about the illnesses. She is the only one of the humans I have examined to have suffered broken bones and childhood illnesses. She has clearly not been raised in the same community as they have. If she were Alliance, I would suspect a child born out of wedlock, but since humans don’t marry, I can’t speculate on her differences.
“Have you always been this weight? Is this considered acceptable physical health by human standards?” The doctor asked sizing her up. Alliance people deemed health as one of the most important factors in life. They all strived to keep as perfect and athletic bodies as they could for their entire lives. Drusilla was just below average height for an Alliance woman standing at 170 cm, but her breasts and hips were considerably larger, and the doctor didn’t know if this was because she was overweight or if this was natural.
“I’m healthy,” Dru said somewhat defensively. She was not fat, but she did have curves. She had breasts that were not made for running, but she practiced yoga, had a flat stomach and had a very nice figure in mid-drift shirts and fitted A-line skirts, her preferred outfit when she wasn’t wearing her uniform. Alliance citizens had the reputation for being all mus
cle and it was rumored they tortured overweight people. I hope it’s just propaganda and that they really don’t torture people who are deemed overweight, she thought trying to discern the doctor’s slim figure through her boxy Alliance dress. Then she looked around the room at the other doctors and she reckoned under their loose dresses they were streamlined, muscled athletic women without protruding hips or breasts. Her mind began to race then, Were they going to cut fat off of me, right now? She didn’t doubt anything they might do to her after making her publically orgasm.
“I didn’t mean to insult you. Alliance women don’t have extra weight in these areas,” referring to Drusilla’s breasts and hips. “Your scans show that you have an acceptable amount of body fat, 26%, however you must not exceed 30% or that will be deemed obese. Do you understand?”
“In my life? Even if I am pregnant?”
“Pregnancy of course does not count, but yes, for the rest of your life. We take our health very seriously. To become overweight is to shame the gods.”
Dru said sarcastically, “Of course, it does,” she was done being overly nice after the orgasm incident.
The doctor overlooked her rude remark, “Most Alliance women only have about 15-22% body fat, with a limitation of about 25% before punishment ensues. It’s a privilege I’m granting you by moving your limit all the way up to 30%, you should be grateful. Now, how long had you served in the human fleet?”
“I joined when I was 18 years old, but I had only been onboard a starship for eight months.”
“Not very long. I assume you had just finished your studies?”
“Yes.”
“It’s good you are young; it’ll make your adjustment here easier. You can probably still become a doctor if you would like to pursue that. Physically, you meet all the requirements,” Dru had no idea what the doctor meant by that but didn’t have time to question it because she was already focused on the next thing the doctor told her. “We just need to do one more cosmetic procedure and then we are finished. We’re going to pierce your nipples now.”
“I noticed that some of the other women didn’t have this done. I don’t want this done.”
“Women older than 30 years old are given an option by the Contracts. You’ll not be given an option. You are young and you will definitely marry. Men expect this as part of the Contracts.”
“I don’t know what the Contracts are, and I don’t care, this is mutilation of my body and I won’t allow it,” Dru sat up and put her hands over her large breasts defensively. The robot then held her hands behind her back and two other doctors came over to speak to Dru.
“This is mandatory,” the Chief Medical Officer Anu told her as if that would sooth her. “You must marry and to marry you must conform to our physical standards. To marry without pierced nipples is to go against the gods. Your husband will not want you. You’ll bring shame on all human women.”
“None of the human women standing over there would feel any shame if I didn’t do this. I won’t let you do this to me,” Dru said aggressively and tried to wiggle out of the robot’s grip which she knew all too well was futile.
“I’m putting this in your record if you don’t stop resisting you young barbarian,” Anu threatened.
“Am I supposed to be intimidated by that threat you old zombie bat?” Dru heard some of her crewmates laugh at her insult. “You’ve taken me prisoner, humiliated me and I’m refusing to have my body mutilated by you and you think I would care what you put in my official Alliance record?” She gave the woman a good kick in the chest then and Anu almost lost her balance, “Put that in my record too.” Dru heard her crewmates laugh with her at that and it gave her more courage to fight the robot and the doctors. She felt good even as she was being pinned back and held down. Dru knew her body would be covered in bruises from where the robot held her, but she thought this act of resistance was worth it.
Three Alliance doctors and the medical robot held Dru down and she screamed as they pierced her nipples without any anesthetics on purpose. “You didn’t need to make this so difficult or painful. You’ve no choice in these matters. You’re an Alliance citizen now. The outcomes will all be the same. You only have the choice to make the road to becoming one of us easy or difficult. In the end, you will observe our traditions and become a member of society. Accept and obey,” said the Chief Medical Officer Anu trying to make this young human see reason. She had seen more humans than most Alliance people in her career and she was unsure as to whether or not they could ever be civilized. She would make a note in Drusilla’s file that she needed to be kept on the strictest tether. She was the most valuable among this lot, their best hope for the future and they needed to give it their best shot at taming her. It was a shame that the most promising on paper was the most barbaric among them, Anu thought as she looked down at the red-haired woman.
Dru’s tears were streaming down her face again, she looked at her mutilated breasts, her spirit momentarily gone, “I’ll never be one of you. You have abducted me, disgraced me and now expect me to be grateful?” Her voice rose then, and she found her strength again, “I’ll hate you all until the day I die. You’re ugly zombies and I hope your civilization dies! The whole galaxy would rejoice!”
Anu, slapped Drusilla across the face as if she were a disobedient child and pinched her newly pierced nipples so hard Dru fell back dizzy and nauseous from the sharp pain, “You will be grateful. Admiral Tir saved you from certain death and now you are being given the chance to be a wife and a mother in the Alliance Empire. There is no greater gift in the entire galaxy. Now you will say, ‘I am grateful.’”
Dru looked at Anu defiantly. Tears were streaming down her face, but she didn’t look away.
Anu slapped her face again.
Dru thought, Do you think I’ve never been hit before? I’m not like these other precious humans. I was fine until you humiliated me you stupid zombies and right now, I don’t feel like giving you the satisfaction of breaking me completely.
“If you don’t say the words, I’ll take every bit of clothing from all of you human women and parade you through the station like the barbaric animals you are. Then I’ll have you all publically whipped for disobedience. This is the Alliance. All you women form one House. House Human. If one of you steps out-of-line, you all are punished. Now what is your choice Drusilla? Should I arrange for the public whipping in the port or will you obey?”
Dru looked at the other women from the Dakota. Jane mouthed the words, ‘Just say it.’
Dru looked back at Anu and said begrudgingly, “I am grateful.”
Anu was annoyed with this human’s pride and was not prepared to stop there. She demanded Drusilla repeat another phrase, “Say, ‘I will honor the Contracts of the Alliance.’”
“I will honor the Contracts of the Alliance,” Dru said, even though she still had no idea what that was. She didn’t care anymore; she saw the rest of her crew looking at her. They were exhausted and they had no more fight. She needed to just jump through these hoops for her crewmates now despite the hatred in her heart and her desire to make this doctor’s life just as difficult as she was making hers.
“I will be a wife and a mother in the Alliance. It is the greatest gift in the galaxy.”
Dru repeated the words and then Anu gave her dirty fleet uniform back to her roughly. She could feel the tears still streaming down her face as she put on her uniform. They had won with this medical examination and she felt filthy from it.
Anu went to a nearby computer and Dru could hear the words, “Obstinate human. Failure to comply. Failure to understand her situation. Strict routines. Punishments.”
Then Anu addressed all the human women in a stricter voice than she had when she had first greeted them, “Now that your medical examinations are complete you are all clear to begin your new lives on the planet. As you have witnessed, any disobedience or lack of gratitude will be met with punishments. If one of you steps out of line, the rest of you will know it. I’m not
sure why some of you think that we have abducted you or mean you any ill will. You have been brought here to help us and in turn help yourselves. It says right here,” she held up her instant communicator, IC, where a document was open in Alliance hieroglyphics, a written language the human translators could not translate, “Your captain commissioned you all to become wives to Alliance men to help us in exchange for her male crew’s lives and return of her ship to Earth. You cannot read the document, I know, but you can read her signature. Come closer and have a look. That is your captain’s signature and she supervised your disembarkment from the Refa to the supply ship Igu. You are here willingly. We are the Alliance Empire. We don’t abduct women.” She paused, looking in all of their colorful eyes and said, “Accept this gift with the gods grace and I wish you all good fortune in your new lives.”
“Release us then if we are not prisoners,” Dru said quietly to her examination doctor as she was still standing next to her.
“We cannot do that. We need you,” the doctor said gently. “The best thing for you to do now is to embrace your new life here as a second life. I’ve no doubt Admiral Tir would’ve destroyed your ship if the gods had not guided his hand in saving you.” The doctor handed her a small circular case with an even smaller circular silver disc in it, no bigger than the size of a fingernail. “This is for your menstrual bleeding when it comes. Colloquially, we call it ‘the disc’. It’s very easy to use, when your bleeding begins, press the button and insert it just a centimeter into your vagina. It is a tiny device that manages the blood, some will be released when you urinate if there is excess, don’t be alarmed by this. It also eases the pains of menstrual cramping and will keep track of your cycle in the main medical data base. Your bathroom mirror will keep you updated on your cycle.” The doctor could see on Drusilla’s face that she was alarmed by this. “Rest assured everyone’s health is tracked in the Alliance. All the toilets and mirrors keep track of everyone’s health so that we can keep everyone as healthy as possible. This is nothing we are singling human women out for. I’ve also given you some general vaccines against some alien diseases that reach us here from our men coming home and not being properly screened.” Dru must have made a face again because the doctor continued, “I know, in this day and age, you would think it wouldn’t happen. But we are especially worried about you humans as you have been so isolated in your corner of the galaxy and we don’t want to test your immune systems or our medical prowess in trying to keep you alive if we can prevent it now. Do you have any questions?”
