Meeting Burner’s raging eyes, I nod my head once again. “Yes. I found out while I was heading here.”
“Shit. I want his ass dead,” Burner snaps.
“He will be, brother,” Horse snarls. “I’m not about to have some piece of shit try and restart what his father did with my little sister, daughter, or niece.”
If I didn’t know him and his family, I’d be wondering how all of this was possible. His daughter, Kayla was older than his little sister, Corinne, and his niece, Mercy. Horse’s little sister was a hell of a lot younger than him due to the age gap from the time his pops had him and the time Corinne came into his life. For most people it would probably give them a headache to even try to understand the dynamics of it all.
“Can I make a suggestion?” I ask, glancing around at the men surrounding me.
“What’s your suggestion, Harlow?” Stoney asks.
“You want to get rid of the house and make Spark pay for what he’s done to Cara and everyone else, right?”
“Yeah, that’s the game plan what are you thinking?” he probes, tilting his head watching me.
Grinning, I start to walk back toward my car. “Have a couple men stay and watch the house make sure no one leaves.”
“Harlow, you’re not a part of the rest of this,” Ranger states as he grabs my wrist, pulling me to a stop.
“I’m not. I’m just grabbing you everything you need to get the job done,” I murmur.
Nodding, Ranger guides me back to my car with Stoney, Horse, Twister, and several others from both clubs surrounding us.
“Okay, so this is what I suggest.” Holding a blow torch in one hand and a cocktail I created in the other, “This here is made up of some seriously bad chemicals that when lit on fire, will not just blow something up it will disintegrate all of which it touches. There won’t be anything left of him or anyone else inside.”
As I hand the stuff over to Shadow and Ranger, I notice all of them looking at me as if I’d grown two heads. “What?” I ask.
“Ranger, your ol’ lady is scary as fuck,” Hades mutters.
“Yeah, good thing she’s on our side,” Tracker grins, having probably heard stories from Victoria.
Rolling my eyes, I smile, of course, earning a look from Ranger. One that says tonight will be a good night when we get to Sandbridge.
And I can’t wait.
Chapter Eighteen
Ranger
Fuck me. If I could sink into Harlow right now I fuckin’ would; however, there’s work to be done and she’s given us the way to do it.
After ordering Harlow to stay behind at her car with Fist and Cyprus, the rest of us head back through the tree line with her cocktails and blow torch.
“Is this the way we want to do it? Or do we want to take the fuckers inside to the shed and make their pain last longer?” Twister asks, looking over to Stoney. Twister may be Prez for the Franklin’s charter, but Stoney is the one everyone answers to.
“I honestly want the fuckers to burn and this would be one hell of a way to go,” Stoney grumbles.
“You trust that this will work?” Horse asks, a brow lifting in question, not knowing exactly who Harlow is.
“Have you heard of the Harpy?” Tracker asks.
“Yeah,” Twister says, furrowing his brow.
“Well then you just met her,” I grin.
“Fuck, seriously?” Burner mutters with surprise.
“Yep, she’s Raven’s cousin,” Blaze confirms.
“Holy shit,” Horse mumbles, shaking his head. “Alright then, so let’s get to it.”
Glancing in Prez’s direction, I find him grinning. “Fuck yeah, this fucker is going to burn for everything he did. For what he did to Cara, Boss, threatening Destiny’s life, and now my other daughter and granddaughter. Fuck that motherfucker.”
Oh, you can say Stoney wants this fucker dead. “What about Cowboy?” Horse asks, mentioning Boss’ ol’ man who is raising his daughter. This all came out when Stoney finally admitted to the rest of us about what was going on with him and Rachel. He didn’t like the fact that another man was raising his daughter. Wanted to be in her life then shit with Spark happened and he started to threaten Destiny, fucked with Boss. The dynamics between Boss and Stoney have always been rocky, we’d seen it but after what Spark did, it pushed him over the edge and that nearly cost him his ol’ lady, amongst other shit that happened. He’d ended up, at Rachel’s suggestion, making it look like Destiny wasn’t his.
They’d come to some agreement about Destiny knowing Stoney was a big part of her being on this earth but not going to be her actual father. Sucks but I’ve seen the difference in Stoney. The way he’s no longer stressed constantly. He’s happy now which is a fuckin’ good thing.
“He’ll have to deal with the knowledge the fucker’s dead. I’m not about to let him live another moment longer than I have to,” Stoney shrugs and glances around to all of us. “Now let’s get this done. I want to be able to get home tonight.”
Nodding in understanding, a couple of others mutter their agreement.
With quick feet, we all make our way closer to the house. As I head in that direction, I block out all thoughts of anything but getting this shit done. Afterwards, I’ll worry about sinking into my woman. Earlier, rather than giving her the two-hour head start in order to do her thing, we’d given her maybe five minutes. Only, when she got on the highway, she’d hightailed it and I swear she’d been going over a hundred miles an hour the entire way. How she didn’t get stopped by cops is beyond me, but I’ll be making sure to address that later. For now, I couldn’t be prouder of her coming up with a plan like this and doing it within moments.
“They still inside?” Stoney asks as we all make it back to the rest of our brothers.
“Yeah, these goggles are the shit,” Neo mutters, holding the ones Harlow had been using. “These are high tech as hell. I need a pair of these.” Grinning he lifts the goggles up to show us. “Here, take a look for yourself.”
“Don’t need to. I know my woman, she wouldn’t skimp when it comes to something that would be used in what she did,” I mutter.
“I can’t believe that small woman is the Harpy,” Twister grumbles, shaking his head.
“Was the Harpy. She’s done. Not about to allow her to get back into this shit. Harlow’s done enough over the years it’s time she lives in peace and be happy,” I state.
“I get it, shit we all get it,” Horse nods in understanding.
“Let’s quit the pussy footing around and get shit done. One of you take this to the other side where Rage and Thorn are watching. We’re going to come at them from two sides, circle around, and surround the place. Making sure once these are lit, we are far enough away but close enough to keep them from escaping. However, Harlow assures us they won’t be escaping. Oh, and we probably should put something over our noses. No clue what she’s got in these things but whatever it is will be intense from my understanding,” Stoney chuckles.
Nodding, I grab a bandana from my back pocket and wrap it around my face securing it in place.
Once ready, each of us cautiously make our way to the house. “I’m gonna call the fucker,” Nerd says looking to Stoney for permission. Grinning, Stoney nods giving him the go ahead.
Pulling out his phone, Nerd calls the number he’d received a call from once before. Stupid fucker picks up on the second ring. “What can I do for you old friend? I thought you might not have survived,” Spark chuckles.
“Naw, I’m alive and well. However, I hope like hell you’ve confessed your sins, considering you’re gonna die. Painfully,” Nerd taunts.
“Is that so? You don’t even know where I am,” Spark cackles, none the wiser we’re right outside his door.
Shaking my head, I look up to the sky. Why do we always have to deal with stupid fucks like this guy?
“Are you sure about that?” Nerd sneers.
“Yeah, fuckhead, you think you’re smart enough to know where I
d go to start a new life, one where I’ll be taking those cute girls and making them my whores when they come of age, they’re already quite beautiful. I’ll do to them what I did to that bitch in New York as well as sweet, sweet Cara. How is she by the way? Still taste the same as ever.” Oh, fuck it’s a good thing we’re all in place as Stoney and Nerd hear these words.
“Rot in hell, motherfucker.” Stoney is the one to speak this time loud enough for Spark and whoever’s with him to hear through the phone but inside the house as well, as he lights the very tip of the fuse and throws it at the front door.
Shit. We have to jump back as the front immediately explodes shaking the ground around us. Fuck, Harlow was right.
Screams come from within the house and in minutes it’s over.
“Damn, Ranger, remind me to never piss your ol’ lady off,” Venom grumbles.
“Fuck, I think I need to get her to show me how she makes these,” Gadget says, having removed the bandana from covering his face, he is grinning like a lunatic as he makes his way to us.
“Damn straight. That could have come in handy several times over the past several years,” Twister chuckles.
“I’ll talk to her.” Grinning myself as I remove my own bandana. “You all ready to get the fuck out of here?” I ask, ready to get to my woman.
“Yep. Knowing that fucker is dead, I’ve got a phone call to make then we can head out,” Stoney says pulling out his phone. A moment later, he’s got it on speaker.
“Stoney,” Cowboy says in greeting.
“News for you, Spark’s dead,” Stoney says not missing a beat.
“What the fuck? You knew when you caught his ass, I wanted a piece of the action,” Cowboy snarled.
“Too fuckin’ bad. He threatened my little girl Corinne, my granddaughter, and my son’s niece.”
“Fuck,” Cowboy mutters. “So, he’s dead? You sure?”
“Asswipe is burnt to a crisp,” Stoney sneers, eyes darting to the still raging fire.
“At least that’s good news. Gotta go tell Boss this shit. She’ll be happy to hear it.” I hadn’t had the chance to meet this dude but from what I’d heard he’d moved from Canada, transferring to be with Boss and Destiny.
“You do that and tell Destiny to eat a chocolate cuppie cake for me,” Stoney chuckles.
“Got it,” Cowboy grumbles and disconnects.
Pushing the phone back in his pocket, Stoney shakes his head with a sigh.
“You good, Prez?” I ask.
“Yeah, I’m good. Sometimes it sucks knowing Destiny’s being raised by another man.” Cocking my head, I take in his words.
“Regret it?”
“Not for a second. I get Destiny’s mine, but at the same time she’s not. She’s theirs. Was meant to be Boss and Cowboy’s. Kid’s a miracle worker bringing those two together. Fuckin’ sucks admitting it and yeah, if I’d known about the kid before getting with Rachel, I would have done right by Boss making her mine. But in the end, she wasn’t it for me, never was. We fucked that was it. No real feelings involved. With Rachel I have it all and I know this. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t get to me every now and again the decision I made; however, it was worth it in the end.”
Nodding, I let my Prez’s words sink in.
Yeah, decisions like that are hard to make and as well as live with. In the end it’s how you go about it that makes it worth everything.
“Come on let’s get the hell out of here,” Stoney yells out and heads back the way we came.
“Now, we just need to get rid of the rest of the scum on our plates and we’ll be shitting rainbows,” Blaze grumbles as he catches up to us. He’d been on the other side of the house with a few of the others.
“Yeah, Ezra will get his and so will his sister. Then we’ll find this Chigger fucker and put him out of business,” I mutter.
“Fuck, right we will.” Chuckling at Blaze’s remark, I pick up speed ready to get to Harlow.
As we get closer, I break off from them making a beeline for her. “I’ll catch y’all later. Harlow and I are going to check out this house in Sandbridge,” I call out over my shoulder earning catcalls and whistles.
Eyes on Harlow I find her smiling. Fuck, I love seeing that smile. We’d ridden up here in three cages to get here quick not knowing what we’d need, works for me since I don’t have to leave her car behind.
“Let’s go, baby,” I mutter, pointing at the passenger seat for her to get in and head for the front of the car to put the hood down. “Get in.”
“Um, Ranger, you’ll need this to be able to start it,” Harlow giggles. Fuckin’ giggles while holding out what looks like a small fuse from the fuse box. “It’s the fuse for the ignition.”
“Fuck, brother, you don’t marry her I will,” Wolf calls out.
“Shut the fuck up, Wolf, and go home,” I yell back as he burst out laughing.
“Just saying, brother,” he chuckles.
Shaking my head, I take the thing from Harlow and go about putting it back into its place and climb in.
“Alright, baby. It’s time we go have some you and me time before the next shit storm hits,” I tell her.
“Sounds good to me,” she sighs. “Oh, and just so you know, if you want there is a wedding chapel place near where we’re going, if you wanna marry me.”
Whipping my head in her direction, I grin. “That’s my question to ask, baby but fuck yeah. I’m gonna marry you and we’re doing that first thing.”
“Then what are we waiting for.” She smiles.
“Nothing, baby, I finally have all of you, nothing else to wait for.” I murmur, lifting a hand to cup the back of her head, pulling her to me to capture her mouth.
This right here is all I need. I knew it then and I know it now. Harlow was always meant to be mine. I just didn’t realize I needed to carry the fury for her. Now I know and I’ll make sure she never carries that burden again.
Epilogue
Harlow
Three Months Later
“Ryan,” I moan calling out Ranger’s name as he thrust into my with quick strides.
“Fuckin yeah baby. Come on my dick,” he growls picking up pace. His hands digging into my hips.
My orgasm hits me instantly and I’m throw my head back as the amazing sensations flow through me sending shivers up my spine. God knows I’ll never get tired of feeling this with my man. The way he makes me feel every time he’s inside me.
Ranger roar’s my name as he follows me over into the abyss his dick twitch, come pouring deep inside me.
Over the past three months, we’d moved into his house, making it our home.
Home. It was nice to finally call somewhere an actual home rather than a house.
Ranger and I ended up at the wedding chapel, married with in minutes and at the house in Sandbridge. That night he spent it lavishing me with the balcony doors open. I’ve come to love the sound of the water hitting the sand. At night it’s so peaceful, I could listen to it for the rest of my life. But it’s not always good to have to much of a good thing. Besides it makes it special when Ranger and I take weekends away.
Which we’ve done multiple times in the past months when he wasn’t doing anything for the club. I hadn’t gone back to work at the hospital. Honestly, I didn’t want to. I decided to help do something completely different. I went to work with Victoria at the club. She needed it and I was someone she could trust. I was good with it long as I didn’t have to dance.
Ranger and I ended up taking a long weekend and riding down to Louisiana. It was the first time I’d gone there since I left so long ago. While there I met all the members of my brothers club and the ol’ ladies who were now a part of it all. It amazed me how much everything had change and when Ranger took me to the cemetery where my dad was, it had been nice, him holding me close after I’d laid a single rose on his stone.
It was blissful and definitely something I needed to do. I’d finally found my peace and I couldn’t be any happier. I hadn’
t been upset or anything. Not even when I’d walked into the club house to find Jezebel trying to rub up on my man. I didn’t have to get upset, Ranger put the bitch in her place for me. Since then she’s shied away from him, thankfully. I’m done with being the one who disperses justices.
“Fuck baby, I love you,” Ranger rasps bracing himself up on his elbows.
“I love you to Ryan,” I breath. “And I’ve got a surprise for you.”
Grinning, Ranger leans in to brush his nose against mine. “Oh yeah what’s that?” he asks.
“Well you see, Victoria’s not the only one pregnant anymore,” I announce with a smile.
“Wait hold up,” Ranger says, leaning back up in order to look me fulling in the face. “You’re pregnant?”
“Yep,” I nod smiling.
“Fuck baby. I fuckin’ love you. You just made me happier than I already was,” he murmurs right before bringing his mouth down on mine.
More like he’s made me happier than I’ve been in my entire life. I don’t think I could ever live without this man. Not having felt the difference in my world with him not in it.
We might not have found Ezra yet but when we do I know he’ll release the fury he’d take from me and make sure the man feels ever last ounce of it.
For now until that day comes, I get to enjoy this right here without worrying about what the future holds. Even better I don’t ever have to look over my shoulder again.
All thanks to this man holding me to him.
Dear Readers,
I hope you have enjoyed Ranger’s Fury. I’m sure you are all chomping at the bit to know what happened with a couple things that I’ve mentioned in this one. Well, I’d like to point out that Ranger’s Fury takes place after Carrying Blaze’s Mark and Stoney’s Gift. I wanted to make sure that you see what was going on with Ranger and Harlow before you got the others.
Now I know it might have seemed a little confusing by the timeline, but please note that Ranger’s Fury takes place eight months after Choosing Nerd where the epilogue takes place. During this time so many things can happen and did. So, make sure to check out all the stories coming out in December to find out what all happened. From Fated for Pitch Black, Carrying Blaze’s Mark and Stoney’s Gift (this will be a part of the Santa’s Naughty Helpers Anthology).
