I swallowed, trying to control my need to vomit again. Forcing myself, I looked into the eyes of my dead mate, and my soul shriveled. I couldn’t imagine a world without Ember in it. I willingly granted him control, knowing he would not allow his pack to die, but Doherty was wrong about Rawson. Rawson might be my only family, but I couldn’t bring myself to care that he was bleeding out in front of me, or that he might suffer—I couldn’t bring myself to care about anything. Ember had been my light, my purpose, my whole life; now she was gone and I embraced the darkness. There was no need to fight the shadows any longer. My wolf howled—and took control.

Karen Tomlinson is a USA Today Bestselling author of fantasy and PNR books.
Karen adores books and will read any genre that catches her eye. She was whisked away by fairies as a child, has been a dragon-rider, and grew up learning to fight. (This bit’s true!) She likes nothing better than to lose herself in an epic fantasy tale full of romance, fantasy and amazing characters.
Karen lives in Derbyshire, England, (think Mr Darcy territory) with her husband, twin girls and her gorgeous dalmatian.
