I speak softly to him and he comes to me, walking slowly as if he's in a dream. I've turned off the lamp so he won't see the state of me. He might feel the dried blood on my skin but I'll make him ignore it. I'll wrap my body around his and he won't care. He won't see or feel anything except his lust, his greed.
He wants me, and I need his desire, his passion. I need to feel warm again. I need someone to touch me and remind me I'm a woman. I need to feel alive. But more than anything else in the world, I need to feel human—just for tonight.
