Brooke sighed when Tess’s hand found her and stroked her softness. “Tess,” Brooke called. She could not believe that tears were beginning to form in her eyes. She closed her eyes to try and gain control. Her body was succumbing to a wave of indescribable pleasure. She needed to somehow keep her composure.

Tess sensed Brooke’s struggle. Brooke’s body was moving in harmony with Tess’s. The build was slow, like climbing a daunting mountain. One step at a time, their legs grew heavy. It was a pleasurable pain that was stoked by anticipation. At the top a cliff awaited that hovered over an amazing pool of crystal water. One agonizing, yearning step at a time they traveled upward. Climbing steadily higher, their bodies quivered from exertion. There was no turning back. Tess brushed Brooke’s cheek with her other hand. “Open your eyes,” she said.

Brooke slowly complied with the request. Her legs were trembling, her heart was racing, and her emotions were overflowing to the point that she feared she might drown in them. Tess smiled softly. “Let go,” she said.

Brooke put her forehead against Tess’s. “Tess!” she pulled back and called helplessly. Tess held on tightly as Brooke fell first.

Brooke’s body began to shake and Tess pulled her back closer as she followed closely behind. “Brooke,” Tess called gently. She felt her tears spill over and mix with Brooke’s just as Brooke captured her mouth in a passionate kiss. The kiss continued as their bodies moved gradually through the violent jump, into an exhilarating freefall, wind whipping around them, a rush of pure sensation encompassing them both until they finally reached that serene pool and gently floated home.

  “I love you, Tess.”

Tess opened her eyes and looked at her lover. “I love you too.”

Brooke’s heart was still racing. She held Tess close and allowed a comfortable silence to envelop them. She had debated with herself endlessly about what she was about to say. “Tess?”

“Yeah?” Tess answered. She was content lying in Brooke’s arms, feeling Brooke against her.

“I want to ask you something,” Brooke said.

  “You can ask me anything.”

“I want you to help me pick out a house,” Brooke said in one breath. Tess pulled herself up and looked at Brooke inquisitively. “I’m not asking you to live there…Well, not now anyway,” Brooke said. Tess smiled. “If you are seriously married to your house…I mean if you see yourself there forever…I won’t look…not that I expect you to want me to move in. But, well, I mean, Murphy needs, and the kids are…”

Tess silenced Brooke with a kiss. She didn’t have any doubt about where their relationship was heading. If she had, they would never have traveled to this place. “One day at a time, Brooke. I would love to help you look. If that’s what you want.”

Brooke’s smile warmed Tess’s heart. “There are a lot of things I want,” she said.

“I know,” Tess replied. “Me too.”

  “One day,” Brooke said softly.

Tess fell back into Brooke and closed her eyes. One day, Brooke. “I love you,” Tess whispered.

“I know. I still can’t believe it,” Brooke confessed. “I landed Wonder Woman.”

Tess giggled and smacked Brooke’s stomach lightly. “And, I landed a doctor with a green obsession.”

  “I am not obsessed.”

“Go to sleep before you get angry. This bed is small and I need my leg room,” Tess said.

Brooke pulled her lover closer. “Goodnight, Diana.” Tess was already asleep. “One day, Tess…maybe sooner than you think.”
