“Now I thought that we had done with that. He was introducing me to an innocent sub to amuse myself with, and he hoped there would be more. Well, you know it started that way. I tried to resist falling for you and told myself it would soon be over.”

“But you were blown away by my charm and beauty, Master,” she joked, and he was pleased to hear it.

  “Something like that.”

  “You are joking, Master.”

“No, I will never lie to you. To me you are gorgeous and charming, and I will brook no denial from anyone, least of all you, mo run.”

“No, Master,” she whispered and hid her head in his shoulder as he rubbed her back then cuddled her close. He put his hand in his pocket and drew out a box.

“Will you wear my collar and be my sub?”

“Yes, Master, I will gladly and proudly!”

He gave her the box and she opened it.

“Oh,” she breathed, for inside was a collar made of delicate gold links, one she could wear anywhere. On the front, each attached to the collar by a couple of links were the letters “AONGHAS.”

She looked at him not understanding what the letters meant.

“My name in Gaelic,” he said.

She took out the collar and ran her fingers over the letters. It had a small padlock at the back. He drew out a gold key and unlocked it. Reverently, she handed him the collar, and he placed it around her neck and fastened it with the key, which he put away. She knew, though he had not said it, that there was only the one key.

  “Mine!” he growled. “Forever.”

  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Born in South Yorkshire in England, Clair has lived for more than twenty years in South West Scotland. Retired for the past few years, she has spent her time in domestic pursuits such as reading, sewing, cooking, and gardening. She decided that there ought to be more to retirement than that. She was challenged to write a novel of her own and Initiation, book one in the Prometheus in Chains series, was the result.

She enjoyed the process of telling the story, which combines her nascent interest in BDSM with some autobiographical material in the best tradition of “write about what you know.” Now, with a head full of Doms and subs and a few hours a day spent writing or researching, retirement has in fact delivered more.

She is still to be found on any bright sunny day out in the garden listening to the birds singing, either engaged in some appliqué project or thinking through some aspect of plot or character. Wherever she is, a notebook and pencil are never far away.

She will always have a HEA, as she thinks the world has enough sadness in it, and Clair’s characters will always get there in the end even if the road is rocky.

The Prometheus in Chains series will come to Jane and Angus later as she learns to live with her Master but not for a while. Jessica has to be dealt with first.

Her next project is an erotic Regency mystery born of her abiding love for Jane Austen. It may or may not be a series. That remains to be seen.
