Charlee's Choices: DreamCatchers MC Page 12

by Liberty Parker

“What happened Cameron? How did you end up here? You were supposed to be with Jamie for the remainder of the summer. You should’ve been safe no matter what.”

“It doesn’t matter now Charlee, we need to figure out how to get out of here, I want to go home…I’m scared.”

“Tell me anyways, I need a distraction and knowing how you ended up here will help me focus on something else, for now anyways.”

I have to leave out some details to my story, if I was to tell her I ran from Jamie’s to head home because I told him no to sex, that I wasn’t ready, and he slapped me she’ll freak the fuck out, and now’s not the time for that. I lean back against the wall and think of where and how I’m going to begin how I ended up here…in hell.

“Jamie and I got in a big fight, so I packed up my belongings and jumped in the car. All I could think about was getting home. I was distracted, but not enough to where I couldn’t drive and make it home okay. I didn’t want to stop at any hotels, so I drank a ton of coffee and set my sights on driving straight through. I’d almost made it too, I was about fifteen minutes out of town when this truck pulled up behind me and started flashing its lights and banging on the horn.”

“Wait a minute,” Charlee interrupts me, “go back and tell me what you and Jamie fought about that sent you running for home.”

“Not now Charlee—please, I’m not ready to talk about that yet,” I beg of her, I just can’t open up that wound yet. I need more time to process what I’m going to do and how I’m going to proceed with my relationship.

“I’ll let it go for now, but Cam, we are going to talk about it.” She gives me that look that she has that lets me know she’s not messing around about this. I sigh, not sure how that day will play out, but I want to get the rest of this story told.

“Fine, do you want to hear the rest, or are you distracted enough already?”

  “No, proceed please.”

“As you wish your highness,” I tease her with the nickname I used to call her when we were ten years old. She always got to be the princess and I was her maid, even back then Gunner was my prince…story of my life. She chuckles at the nickname and I continue on with my story, “Anyways, where was I? Oh yeah, the truck behind me, I thought I was going to slow for them, so I started to pull over to let them pass. Only that wasn’t what they wanted, they wanted me to stop completely, when my brain synapses kicked into gear and I realized they meant me harm I started to speed back up and get off the shoulder, so my car could get better traction. They ended up pulling beside me and pushed me off the road with their truck. I ended up in a ditch and got out and started to run, my mind kept screaming to get away and hide and don’t let them find me. Only this scarred faced motherfucker caught me, and I started to fight back with everything my body possessed. I tried to use the moves Gunner taught us to get away, but this guy was stronger than I was, and it was a losing battle. He hit me a few times until I eventually passed out, and I woke up here. In hell, then what seems like days later but was probably only hours they brought you in. Of course I didn’t know it was you at the time, or I would’ve tried to get to you, do something to make sure you were okay.” I take a breath and wait to gauge her reaction.

Then she tells me how she ended up here, but she’s confused because she’d just spoken to me that morning. I tell her how I stopped at a payphone to call her to check in, I needed to hear her voice to keep me going. “I just needed to remind myself that someone was there for me when I made it back home Charlee, I wasn’t in a good emotional place that morning.”

“Why didn’t you tell me you were heading home, I would’ve stayed and been there for you…fuck the BBQ.”

“I wasn’t sure when I’d make it home and I didn’t want you sitting there all day worried about me. How long do you think we’ve been here for?”

“I’m not sure, I don’t know how long I was passed out for,” she tells me, and I can see it’s bothering her as much as it is me.

The light suddenly comes on in the room and we look at each other regretting what that light must indicate for us. The door knob begins to rattle as someone goes to open it, it flies open and there’s not one but two men coming into the room. Each one is holding a bag containing fast food and a drink, my stomach rumbles reminding me I have no idea how longs it’s been since I’d last eaten anything.

“Eat up ladies, the boss says we have to keep ya’ll feed and then we are to offer you showers and other amenities.” Hmm…big words for such a stupid oaf I think to myself.

“Now that you mention it I could use the restroom,” Charlee tells them to which they reply not until we’ve eaten every bite of our food, which is cold by the way when I open my bag and take the first bite. Oh well, food is food and I’ll need to get as much strength gathered in my body as I can. Kidnapped victims can’t afford to be choosy, so I’ll take what I can get.

Cold burgers and fries drowned with an iced down drink, not the meal I’d choose for myself but I’m starving so I ravish my food like the pig I’m feeling like. My head is still throbbing and it’s clouding my judgement with pain.

“Think your boss would allow some Tylenol for this headache I’ve got going on?” I ask the mean man brothers.

“We’ll get you something when we take you to the bathroom. You’ll have use of the shower, toilet and there’s some pain relievers in the medicine cabinet. Don’t get any ideas though, the windows have bars on the outside so there’s no escaping and you’ll go one at a time.” I’m not sure how I feel about Cameron and I being separated for any length of time, I don’t trust these sons of bitches. How am I supposed to know they won’t take advantage of one of us while the other’s away?

“Is that really necessary if the windows are barred and there’s no escape? I’m not trying to be rude, I just want to help her doctor and bandage any wounds she may have,” I say trying to sound as sincere as I possibly can. These guys don’t know me, so they have no clue how out of character I’m acting right now.

“Boss said one at a time,” mean man two says.

“Come on man, I don’t want to play nursemaid, she’s right, what harm would it do?” that was mean man number one.

“Fine, but if anything goes wrong you’re taking the blame for it.” My head goes back and forth between them like a yo-yo.

“Whatever, what could happen?” it’s a good thing they have no clue how devious Cam and I can be when we’re together.

I see the glint in Charlee’s eyes when they relent, and I know that we may possibly cause some havoc and get ourselves in some deep shit. Good thing I’m wearing my boots for the shitstorm I’m sure is to come our way.

  God help us all.

I haven’t been able to eat or sleep since Charlee went missing. My body is functioning on pure willpower alone, I need my girl back, I miss her, and her sassy mouth more than I ever thought could be possible. That sayin’ you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone is very true. I will never take her being there, beside me for granted ever again. When I get her back she will be a permanent fixture to my side, she will eat, sleep and live all things Country when she gets home. I will be so far up her ass, she won’t know where she begins and I end. There’s been no ransom demands, no phone calls, nothing, nada, she’s just gone along with Cam. The not knowing is what hurts the most, I just want confirmation that she’s alive and well.

No, that’s not true, I not only want to know those things, I want to know what we need to do to get them back. If it wasn’t for them missing, I’d be going to pay Jamie a visit and find out exactly what it was that sent Cameron on her journey home—alone. I trusted him with her, he was supposed to keep her safe, and this is anything but that. Next time I see him I plan on giving him a beatdown he will never forget. He owes my knuckles some skin time, and I have a feeling I won’t be the only one to be in on it either. I’m sitting at the bar lost in thought when the phone rings, I go behind the bar to answer it.

  “Clubhouse,” I ans
wer as normal.

“I’m sending you coordinates of where the girls are being held, it’s coming special delivery have someone at the gates to get the package.”

“Pops?” I scream into the phone but it’s already too late, he’s hung up.

“Gunner!” I scream out as I run down the hallway where the rooms are and start banging on every closed door I pass…never once do I stop screaming out Gun’s name.

“What the fuck!” Malice screams back, he’s been keeping vigil at Curley’s bedside at the hospital, waiting for him to wake up so we can get information.

“What the fuck are you doing here? You’re supposed to be securing Curley!”

“Kruger took over last night, so I could get some sleep, which you just interrupted!”

“What’s wrong Country? Why are you running around screaming out my name like a mad man?” Gunner asks me with panic marring the features on his face, he knows only one person could get that kind of reaction out of me.

“Pops just called,” is as far as I got.

“Woah, wait a minute, did you say Pops just called?” Gunner asks me, stunned.

“Gun, man, let me finish, we don’t have a lot of time, he says that he has the girls’ coordinates and is sending them special delivery, we need to have someone we trust on the gates,” I rush out in one breath.

“On it,” Master screams out as he runs for the door. Master is another brother, he got his road name because he was a Master Sergeant before joining us in the brotherhood. He needed structure and orders when he got out, he’s a real asset to the club for situations such as this.

“Buster, get ammo gathered and get each brother weaponed upped…we don’t know what we’ll be walking into and I want everyone prepared for the worst and pray for the best,” Gunner says as he walks back to his room. Without another word, Buster runs to the weapons shed to start his inventory and get the necessary weapons gathered. I’m hot on his heels needing something to do so that I don’t run out and beat the shit out of the delivery guy. I know it’s not his fault, but I feel the need to take my anger out on somebody…anybody.

I’m lost in my own world handing things out to Buster as he calls out what he needs gathered, this is the only way I can think of to be helping as we wait on the package heading our way. Please, I beg whoever is upstairs listening, please let them be okay when we get to them.

As soon as I’m done issuing out orders I run to my room to get dressed. I see the club bunny laying in my bed and know that I can’t leave her in here.

“Get up, get out it’s time for you to be on your way,” I tell her and not in a polite way either. I don’t give a fuck about her feelings, she’s here for one thing and one thing only, helping me get some release to relieve my tension. Which has been more than ever over the last few days, I know I shouldn’t be bedding these bitches while the one girl who owns my heart is missing, suffering God only knows what by hands unknown by me. While she and Charlee have been missing my mind has been playing with my heart, I realize that after she recovers from this ordeal, I will stop at nothing to make her mine…nothing.

I don’t give a fuck anymore that she’s fifteen years my junior, age is just a number and my heart and head are finally on the same page. First though, I need to get her and Twerp home, those girls are going to be so spoiled when they get here it won’t even top the charts of how spoiled they already have been.

“Gunner baby, you’re so stressed, let me help you out with that,” the bunny says to me, fuck what was her name again? Judy, Jazmine, Jewel, something like that. Sad, I know, but honestly, I didn’t give a fuck who she was or what she looked like last night, all I could think about was that I may never see Cameron again and I became angry needing to take it out on someone, and I figured it was better to take it out on a club bunny’s pussy than one of my brother’s faces.

“Get out! I don’t have time for your bullshit this morning, June.”

“It’s Jacey!” she screams out at me. Who does this bitch think she is?

“I don’t give a fuck what your god damned name is, you’re nothing but a hole for me to poke whenever, wherever I feel like it. You ever raise your voice to me again and I’ll make sure no club looks at you once let alone twice…you got me?”

“Yes, I get it, no need to shout, I just wanted to help.”

“You can help by getting out, got shit to do and don’t have time for this shit.”

“That must mean the princesses will be returning soon, lucky us. Was kinda hoping they’d stay missing and gone forever,” she mumbles under her breath, I almost don’t catch what she said…almost, unlucky for her I did.

“The fuck did you just say?” I scream out loud enough for everyone in the neighborhood to hear, I know it was that loud because my throat is instantly on fire.

“I didn’t say anything,” she stutters out, but I’m not letting this go.

“Shamus!” I scream out for my enforcer, I’m suddenly in need of some trash removal.

“I didn’t mean anything by it, I swear!” she cries out as if her tears mean a damn thing to me.

There’s banging on my door and I hear Shamus call out to me, “You need me boss?”

“Get your ass in here!” The door opens with a slam he must think I’m in some sort of trouble in here. His job is to protect the members of this club, especially me since I’m acting President.

“What’s up boss,” I hate that they call me boss, but I let it go not wanting to cause chaos within the club…any more than it already is anyways. I tell him what the bitch just said, and I see his face turn red in anger. He loves those girls like they were sisters of his, he’s been in the club since they were six years old, so he’s watched them grow up like the rest of us have.

“Is that right,” he says and takes whats her name by her arm and leads her out of the room.

“I want her gone, get the word out about her, make sure no other club will take her in,” I scream at his retreating back.

“You got it boss!” he yells back in reply. Now that that’s taken care of I proceed to get dressed, I’m ready to get my girls back. As I walk out of my room I’m met with Sandman, Polo, Bull and Blaze, they are the brothers I’m closest with. We all prospected together and have been inseparable since, they are who I trust the most and tell everything to.

“Does Buster have weapons ready to hand out to everyone?”

“Sure does,” Sandman tells me, he pats me on the back showing me solidarity. He doesn’t talk much and always closes his eyes with his head back, but is always alert and knows what’s going on at all times around him. That’s the reason he got his road name because you always think that he’s fallen victim to the sandman himself.

“Master has the package and is in the chapel waiting for us to meet him to see what’s inside,” Polo tells me, he’s wearing his infamous polo shirt. Always a polo, never wears anything other than those damned collared shirts. As I go to respond two of the club bunnies run up to us and call out my name.

“Not now ladies, I don’t have time to stop and chat.”

“This is important,” Shelby tells me, and Tilley is nodding her head in agreement.

“This better be life-altering important ladies,” I tell them giving in.

“We overheard a conversation between Classy and Glitter. You really need to know what it is they were saying,” Tilley tells me, damn women and drama, I don’t have time to deal with this.

“Deal with this Sandman, I’ve gotta get to chapel,” I give him the order, I hate female problems, it seems to be never ending around here.

“Wait!” Shelby hollers out at me, “you really, really need to hear this now, it concerns the girls.” What the hell could two club bunnies have said that concerns them? Now I’m intrigued and stop in my tracks.

“Alright, I’m listening,” I tell them.

“I think we should take this somewhere private, I don’t want them to possibly hear us and warn the guys who took them,” Tilley
says. Now my ears perk up at that statement and knowing that two of our own may be involved in my girls going missing has me seeing red.

“Let’s take this to my room,” I put my hand out towards my room’s door. They head that way and I see Country sitting at the bar. “Country, my room now,” I call out to him. I watch as he gets off the stool he’s claimed as his own the last few days and I don’t wait to see if he’s coming…I know that he is.

When Gunner calls out my name I was drowning in my sorrowful thoughts. My mind was going places it shouldn’t, have they hurt my girl in any way, shape or form? I’m freaked out and really worried about her and her condition, I hate that I wasn’t there to protect her…it’s my job to keep her safe. I get up and follow Gun down the hallway and into his room. I’m surprised to find two of the club bunnies in the room along with some of the other brothers.
