He'd done what he had set out to do and the pain from that time long ago melted away and he no longer felt the ache in his gut for the first time, in a long time.

  Chapter Six

Dusk settled on the barren landscape, giving way to the gradient shades of blue and purple as night shadowed the sky. It was a beautiful summer evening and Dale felt exhilarated and totally alive for the first time in eight years. He'd gotten exactly what he hungered for, for so long, thought about day in and day out. Was he sorry in the least? Hell no! Fucking that man had been nothing more than the means to an end. The closure of a time in his life that was now past and finished. It was pure, unadulterated and unfeeling sex and nothing more. No emotions were expended during the act.

Dale had set out to seek revenge and he had pulled it off perfectly. For once, he could take a deep breath and think back about what happened to him as a lesson learned and how to execute the most delicious form of retribution known to man.

That old saying about hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, fuck that shit. Hell hath no fury like a fag that was fucked and not kissed. Heaven help the poor wicked soul when revenge came knocking because it bites! He hoped that old flamer never forgot him and was truly sorry for what he did to him eight years ago, and that he would think twice before using someone without thought or care to their feeling or desires. Hopefully he would forget the inexperience or stupidity of any young man that came through the door of The Stud Farm and not take advantage of them again.

Whatever happened after he walked away for the last time and put his past to rest didn't matter to him anymore. He felt no shame or guilt and life looked rosy and fresh again. He had a gorgeous redhead he'd met a few weeks before coming here and he couldn't wait to get back to California and resume getting to know him better. He was sweet, kind, and knew how to treat a man. Having sex with him was beautiful and fulfilling, and Ray liked giving as well as receiving. He had red curly hair that crowned his head and a ready smile on his face. He wasn't what you would call handsome, but he was gorgeous in Dale's eyes. Ray was open and honest about his feelings and encouraged the same in him.

Dale hit the accelerator and picked up his cell phone, he had a date to make and didn't want to be late. He was going home an unburdened man with happiness and joy filling his heart. No more bitterness lined his soul. He was a new man with someone very special waiting for him at home. "Hello, sweetheart. Yes, it is your stud muffin calling. Yep, I am done with my business here in Nevada. Everything turned out in my favor and I am coming home sooner than I expected. Did you doubt me?" A sexy chuckle could be heard through the phone. "I should be back in Fresno in about six hours or so." Dale blew a kiss into the phone. "I love you, too. See ya soon." Snapping the cell phone shut and setting it on the seat next to him, he got comfortable for the long drive home.

He wouldn't get home until late tonight, but he knew Ray would be waiting for him with open arms and a passionate kiss. And that's what truly mattered in this world, a good man that loved him with all his heart, and never failed to let him know it with not just words but actions as well.

Closing one chapter of his life to start a new one lit up his face as he cranked up the radio and blared AC/DC's Back in Black. Damn, it felt good again to be his own man, not having the burning anger that rolled and boiled in the pit of his stomach for so many years.

He'd forgotten how wonderful it felt to be free of those hurtful and, at times, uncontrollable emotions. It had been worth the wait and the look on Preston's face when he told him who he really was, bringing up the past was priceless. Reminding him what he'd done to Dale eight years ago, then watching recognition seep into Preston's features. Suddenly he'd looked old and haggard. The shoe was now on the other foot for a change. Dale had not a drop of sympathy for the man, none whatsoever.

That conceited fool, he really thought someone like Dale was interested in him, not a freaking chance in hell. Yep, life had its own way of working out…

Dale raised his fist in the air and roared, "Revenge is the sweetest when you have the best in life still to come!"
