Remy smiled. “Faith wasn’t that strange to me, remember what I can do.”
“Yeah, she was still odd.” He kissed her and rested his forehead against hers. “Selfish people don’t offer to let their friends come and stay with them when their werewolf mates are being a jackarse. They don’t go nose to nose with some of the scariest shifters to stick up for their friends. Selfish people don’t deliberately get caught by fucking demons so they can save ungrateful family members who don’t deserve to be saved.”
A sob escaped Remy. “You heard what she said?”
“Yes. You don’t need them, Remy. You have gone nearly all your life without them and turned out fantastic. You have me, and you have our child. If they don’t want to be a part of our family, then that is their loss.”
Straddling his lap, she circled his neck with her arms. “I wish I’d come back earlier, or never ran in the first place. I will always regret leaving you, Arden, because you are the best thing that ever happen to me. I love you more and more each day. Thank you for being mine.”
Remy squealed as Arden stood up. She wrapped her legs around his waist and clung to him. “The shower in our bathroom is off. Grayson heard us—I know the sneaky cat is listening. He can sort them out while I make love to my mate.”
He walked them into the house. “Arden, we can’t. Everyone will hear us.” She buried her face into his chest.
“Grayson will put on a movie if you’re that worried. But they are in our house so they should get used to hearing us, because I’m not going to stop loving you just because we have guests.” He walked into their room and placed her on the bed. Then he went back to the door and shut and locked it.
Remy backed up on the bed until she hit the headboard. Arden stalked her and the look in his eyes had her body coming alive and heating up in ways that had nothing to do with her power. “Arden, we really shouldn’t.”
He slipped out of his clothes and she homed in on his muscular body, her protest dying as she drank his body in. Arden crawled up the bed. “We really should. I want you so bad. I need to check every inch of your body to make sure you’re okay. You scared the life out of me when I came home to find you gone, and then you get caught by demons deliberately. I’m so angry that you put yourself in danger, but my relief and need of you is winning over my side that wants to yell at you and fight over how stupid you were. I love you, Remy, and don’t want to ever live without you.” His lips brushed hers and his hands tore at the clothes she wore. “Open up for me.”
She opened her mouth and met his tongue with her own in a kiss that ignited her whole body. Remy moved her hands up to explore his perfect body, groaning when he lifted her up to remove her torn clothes and chuck them to the ground. When their naked bodies touched, warm skin to skin, it sent delicious tingles through her. Arden’s mouth devoured hers, and she clutched at him, needing more, needing everything. He rubbed his body against hers and deepened the kiss. Needing air, she tore her mouth from his, panting for breath. Arden trailed kisses down her neck, nipping at her sensitive skin and sending shots of ecstasy coursing through her.
“Arden, I need you.”
He looked up at her. “You have me. I’m yours.” He nibbled his way down her body, stopping at her breasts as his hands glided over her to rest between her thighs. He dipped his hands between her thighs and sunk a finger into her wet pussy. “Ah, pixie, you’re soaking.” He circled one of her nipples with his tongue and she moaned. Arden swapped breasts, doing the same to her other nipple before he gently sucked it in.
She arched up into his touch as he eased his way down, kissing every inch of skin available to him. Her fingers sought out something to hold onto as he rested between her legs, and she wrapped her digits around the sheets, holding tight. The first swipe of his tongue had her shaking in anticipation and eager for more. He nestled in closer, resting his lips over hers and moving them back and forth before easing up over her clit. He licked out and sucked on her nub, causing delightful tingles to flow through her.
Her breathing came out in gasps of need the more he explored. It felt like it had been years since she’d been touched. Her body was more sensitive than usual. She spread her legs further apart and leaned back on the bed. One thick, callused finger entered her and moved in and out, adding to her already consuming pleasure. Arden sucked her clit in and Remy knew she wasn’t going to last. He added another digit and pumped them in and out of her faster and faster. She moved with him now, searching for the high she knew he could give her.
His teeth scraped over her nub and he scissored his fingers each time he entered. Remy closed her eyes and let all the sensations bombard her. He nipped at her clit, and that was all she needed to fall apart.
“Arden.” She screamed, pulling at the sheets as bliss fell over her.
He sucked her skin and licked his way back up her body. She felt the tip of his cock line up to her pussy, and he rubbed it along her sensitive lips before pushing his way home. Remy opened her eyes to look into passion filled brown ones.
“I love you, Remy Wolfen.” He brushed his lips over her. Buried to the hilt, he rested his forehead on hers. “It feels like forever since I’ve been inside you, since I’ve felt heaven.”
His mouth took hers as he eased out and thrust back in. She could taste herself on him, but it only turned her on more. Wrapping her arms around his back, she held on as he drove into her over and over, giving her everything she wanted.
The force of his passion had her sliding back and hitting the headboard. Needing an anchor, she gripped the sheets and lifted her legs, curling them around him, and pushed up to meet him each time he propelled into her. Tearing her mouth from his, she gasped for air as she arched up into him.
Arden grunted, and she moaned. The tingling pleasure built until it was so strong she knew she would shatter again soon. Gazing up at the man she loved as he stared down at her with love, devotion, lust, and need as he pounded into her had her riding the edge to letting herself go. She enjoyed watching Arden and the effect she had on him. It turned her on and built her tension high enough that she was so close to the edge, about to explode.
Circling his toned arse with her feet, she pushed up, moving her hands from the sheets to tweak her nipples. Her body combusted, and she broke into a thousand tiny pieces as she came hard, pulsing around Arden’s cock.
“Holy fuck,” Arden yelled as he drove into her one more time on a moan and let himself go. His dick swelled and he locked inside her, causing mini-orgasms. He rested on her and they lay for a moment before Arden groaned and rolled them to the side.
“Do you think there’s any chance they didn’t hear us?” Remy knew she must look like a tomato as the passion slowly ebbed and reality came back to her. How embarrassing that she couldn’t control herself from jumping Arden. Well, he was the one who started this and carried her into the bedroom, but she should have said no. His cock flexed inside her, and she sighed. Okay, there was no way she would have said no, she loved being with him.
Arden kissed her, breaking away and resting his forehead against hers. “Sorry, pixie, you’re loud.”
“Me? You’re the yeller. I’m quiet.”
“You keep telling yourself that.”
“I will.”
He trailed his fingertips up and down her back in a soothing motion. “You want to help kill the demons, don’t you? I should just give in and let you help.”
“Yep.” She kissed his chest.
“At least if I let you help I can watch you and make sure you’re safe. Can you promise me that from now on you won’t fight any demons without me or a bunch of shifters to help you?”
Tilting her head up, she grinned at him. “I promise.”
His lips found hers in a sweet kiss. “I’m going to pretend that you will keep that promise.” He nipped her lip. “I know you’re a trouble magnet, so I shouldn’t get my hopes up.”
“Hey.” She whacked his chest. “I’m not trouble.”
“Oh yes, you are, with a capital T.”
Remy laughed and snuggled against him. “But you love me?”
“Yes, I love you more than anything in the world.”
“Good, because you’re never getting rid of me.”
“I never want to.” He rested his forehead on hers. “Would you like to get married? I know we’re mated, and to shifters you’re my mate and that’s stronger than any marriage, but in the human world getting married is important. What do you want?”
“I want you.”
“You have me. Do you want the piece of paper and the ceremony, like what Sara had?”
“Not like Sara had. Hers was big. I do like the beach thing, but I don’t need the puffy, sparkly dress or the thousands of flowers and every person I know in the world at the wedding. I just need you, me, and a couple of my closet friends. I don’t even need my family, they’re not important. Would you be happy to do something like that?”
He kissed her forehead and eased back, looking in her eyes. “I would do anything for you. I’ve been looking at rings, but I thought we could choose something together. I think a small beach wedding with our close friends would be good.”
Remy smiled up at him. “I want to do it soon. I was thinking in the next couple of weeks.”
“We don’t have to rush. If you think your mother and brother will leave, let them.”
“It’s not just that, Arden. I love you and I know you’re the one I want. I don’t want anyone to doubt what you are to me. What we are to each other.” She took his hand and placed it on her stomach. “I have a family. All I need is here with me now. It may have taken me a while to learn this. I’m a slow learner, but once I get it I never forget. I want to get to know my family. Nara seems interested in getting to know me. I’m going to try, but if they don’t want to get to know me and be a part of my family, I’ll be sad but I’ll get over it because I’ve already got my family—you, this baby, and our friends—and I wouldn’t trade my life for anything in the world. I love you, Arden.”
I love you too, Remy.”
Epilogue
The wedding was small. Remy walked down the beach to meet Arden in a simple, long white dress. Everyone had laughed that she still wore chunky high wedges, but Remy defended herself by saying she wasn’t sinking in the sand and she needed any help she could get in the height department when she was marrying someone who to her was a giant.
Nara sat in the front row. Everyone could see she adored her sister. Remy’s mother and younger brother were there too. The relationship was a lot more strained with them.
A lot of the shifter community was learning sign language. Pet was eagerly learning too. Nara and Remy went to visit Pet almost every day. Griffen was happy his mate was accepted by his family.
Stacy had been their traitor. When she found out what had happened with Remy, Ava, and Lexie, she’d run. The clan had decided not to hunt her down. They had more pressing problems fighting the demons.
Griffen was on edge, because this was the first time he’d let Pet socialize with people, other than his close group of family and friends, since her rescue from captivity. As he now sat at the wedding reception where all the pack was rejoicing the union between Remy and Arden, Griffen feared the reprisal of Pet’s previous actions. There were plenty of people who hadn’t, and never would, forgive Pet for what she did when she lived with and helped the demons. His Omega powers were tingling, and he could feel anger directed toward his mate. It wasn’t simply a feeling of anger...their intention was revenge. Griffen planed on making sure they didn’t get it.

I’m a mother of four terrors between the ages of four and nine. In my spare time, the little I have, I write and take off into my own worlds. I started writing down my story ideas in high school, and never really stopped. Writing, I have to say, is my salvation. After I’ve gotten all the kids in bed and have cleaned up, I sit at my computer, or sometimes a notebook with a pencil, and relax, write, and escape. I decided to finally submit my work after a friend said I should stop being a coward and submit something, live the dream. So here I am.
