“Goddamn, Lily. You’re killing me. Move … please!” He pleaded with her. She felt his need echoed in her pussy and could do no more than comply with it.
She was a short woman and he was a big man. She came up on her heels and began to rise and fall, her hands on his chest for leverage as she slid up and down his cock. Chapter 4
She woke before he did and moved as quietly as she could from the bed. She stood over him for a time, marveling that the beautiful man lying so still was hers. She grabbed the quilt and wrapped it around her naked body. Tyee didn’t sleep with covers. A benefit of being a shifter.
Something had drawn her awake and she heeded the call. Not normally given to flights of fancy, she didn’t know where the urge came from but she gave her feet free rein and ended up at the back of the cave, following a small tunnel that led to a heavy metal door.
She popped the latch, opened the door and stepped out onto a ten foot wide precipice that hung over the valley below. A new day was dawning, the sun lighting the sky with a palette of pinks, oranges, and yellows. Her breath left her as the beauty of the tableau swept over her mind. Warmth radiated against her spine, her mind tingled and her soul cried out. She knew he was behind her before he spoke.
His hands settled on her shoulders, his body crowding close as he placed a kiss on her neck.
“It’s still too damn cold,” he said quietly.
“Says the bear who has fur and a body temperature as high as the sun,” she replied with a small laugh.
“That’s a beautiful sound, naika. I want to wake up to it every day for the rest of my life.”
“Forever,” she murmured.
They were silent for long minutes, watching the land wake up. It seemed overnight, more snow had melted and green had sprouted now that the heavy blanket of white was gone. Deer and elk ventured from the tree line below them, grazing, fawns moving slowly behind their parents, cautious but full of energy.
“I’ve always loved spring. The newness after a long, hard winter makes my heart happy,” she said into their silence.
“I’ve always loved you. You’re my spring,” he replied.
She turned then, unable to resist having his body against hers. She opened the blanket, squealed when the cold touched her and then sighed when her flesh met his. He laughed and the rumble was a blessing.
She looked up at him, found his eyes on her. “What does naika, mean? You never told me.”
“Mine,” he whispered against her lips.
She sighed as she snuggled closer to his heat. “So, bear, you think I’m yours?” she teased him, rubbing her belly into the hardness that had sprung between them.
“Yes.” Hard conviction then he chuckled. “But I think you’ll have to learn to bear with me.”
His hazel eyes were full of joy and she pulled his head down to hers. She kissed him, ran her tongue along the seam of his lips and sighed when he responded to her silent request. Long moments were spent, his lips under hers, tongues dueling as the heat built once again. Somewhere in the distance, the red-tail screeched. She smiled, feeling complete for the first time in a long time. She had them both, the animal and the man.
“Oh, Chief, I don’t think I can bear to live without you.”
